replacement part unavailable
Over the last 6 years I have purchased 3 Intex pools. As the kids got bigger, so did the pool. Good ol' fashioned summertime fun. This year our pump finally went out. I hopped online and went straight to the Intex website knowing that I could just buy the part and get back to the back yard. Come to find out, instead of selling me a $20 part, they want me to buy a $125 pump. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I have spent thousands of dollars on equipment, filters, and "kits" with this company and I can't get the parts that I need to maintain their equipment.
shipping time of replacement
I purchased an Intex Saltwater Filter and Pump (ECO 7111). After two days, a leak developed in the filter housing unit. I called them and they processed the claim but the email response stated it would take 2 to 3 business days to process before it is even shipped and then it will take 3 to 5 days to ship the replacement parts to me. In the meantime, I do not have a working filter and I have water leaking out of the filter all over the ground. My son disconnected the hoses so when not in use it won't leak. However, after seeing what can happen in the pool when it is not properly filtered, I do not want to let it go the 6 to 8 days it will take to get the parts to me. They said they can't send the parts next-day air even if I pay for it. I am extremely disappointed and unhappy with Intex considering a large part of their business involves swimming pools, and they don't understand the need for faster shipping. It isn't like I can drive to a local store and get the replacement parts.
customer service
Purchased pool on 06-24-2015 filled the poll with 6000 gal of water found it to be leaking the next day. Filed a claim and per company information claim was processed. I anticipated a return email per the claim process and no email. I contacted the company and was advised that the liner was out of stock it would be three weeks til shipping. I did a follow up call and was then told the liner is no longer made and it would be 5 weeks for a replacement, I was refused the opportunity to speak with a supervisor and there was no attempt to honor the warranty that was provided with the purchase
poor customer service
6/30/2015 I purchased some adaptive parts from Intex for a new pump we had ordered for our Intex pool. I paid a lot of money for 2nd Day shipping and the parts are not arriving on time. I called their customer service to see what could be done about this. I talked to three different customer service reps (I had to hang up each time in order to talk to someone else because their policies don't allow them to let customers talk to managers!) and all three reps were very robotic in their responses, couldn't answer my questions, and just said "I'm sorry." It is ridiculous that you cannot speak to a manager with a problem you are having and the reps are very uniformed and ill-equipped to trouble shoot any problems.
I have owned this spa for 14 months, but it spent 5 of those months in storage, due to winter conditions. It worked fine, at first although it was noisy...I contacted Intex...they didn't seem to care...we used the spa through the summer and enjoyed. This season when we took it out and filled it...worked fine then suddenly we got an error code C-96...I referred to the owners manual and did what it suggested...it still didn't work...so I contacted Intex and was told the control base had failed and I needed a new one. Since I was "technically" beyond the 1 yr. warranty a new control would cost me $365.00+ shipping and handling...When I objected and said the actual use was only 6 or 7 months...They told me to bad...This is how this company works, cheap products, poor customer service, and no honor of the product they say they are so proud of. I was supposed to get an email response to my original complaint within 48 hours...5 days later I'm still waiting...
top liner ring of pool cracking and falling apart
We purchased an above ground pool in July of 2014. Last year was not the hottest year and we used the pool maybe one time. We decided of course to use the cover that came with the pool in order to keep it clean. When we removed the cover one of times we used the pool we noticed that there a bunch of pin hole leaks (what looked like were from cracking) and the ring was covered in a residue from the cover being on. This cover was never left on for weeks or long periods of time - but in the short amount of time it was on, it ruined our ring on top. Keeping in mind we live in Castro Valley, CA which it does not reach very cold temperatures here either. At this moment I decided to toss the horrible cover that came with THEIR pool and went out and purchased one of my own which simply just laid across the water - I didn't want to place anything else on the ring to make it worse. After looking over the ring and seeing what damage their pool cover created we noticed that it was covered with residue that was cracking and causing holes all over the place. This ring allows the pool to remain up and the water to avoid flowing over the top. There was a substance left behind all over and the material itself became very brittle. We began to notice this substance hardening and cracking at times. Now here we are in June of 2015 and have used the pool maybe less than a dozen times as it took some time to warm up this year. However in the last year we have spent hours and hours purchasing and using the useless silver dollar size "patches" the company provided us to cover up all the dozens of holes and cracks and tears in the ring. Please keep in mind when I say patch them I mean place the patch on as instructed, let dry, and then go to work - only to come home to see the entire ring had deflated because the "patches" do not work - as well as the fact that there is so much of the "pool cover" substance on our ring, it is impossible to allow anything to properly stick. We contacted Walmart (which is where we purchased the pool from, and have received no support) as well we submitted e mail after e mail to the "support team" at Intex. Their response was to inform we were past our 90 day warranty, which I have a hard time understanding why a product such as a pool would have such a short warranty, but now I get it. They also informed us that they could send us more patches and a sponge to help rub off the substance. We of course not happy, but not having much of a choice said okay. We are now sitting on pins and needles hoping our entire backyard doesn't flood. We have now seen about 6 small tears and one large rip/hole the size of the palm of my hand. Because of that hole the ring is also now full of water. I had to spend about two hours trying to cover these holes, with every material I could think of in order to save the water and avoid flooding my backyard, while my daughter stood inside of the pool holding it up to try and dry it. We have failed in the matter that we cannot locate every single hole and the ring continues to deflate as well the fact that we now have NO WAY of removing the water INSIDE the ring, and due to that we cannot blow up the ring even if we wanted to. I have tried to explain this all to Intex again and expressing my concern as this pool is less than ONE YEAR old and even informed that I would accept the fact they don't need to give me a new pump, ladder, or anything else - JUST THE POOL LINER PLEASE! - They informed me today that there is nothing they can do and due to being out of warranty we were not going to be receiving a new pool. At this time I have now copied this info. to the better business bureau as well as will be contacting my lawyer to see if I have any options. I really just am at the point of wanting to help anyone else I can avoid purchasing anything from this company. Especially since their website quotes things like..." At Intex Recreation corp. our goal is to provide consumers with fun at the best value possible by combining outstanding quality, industry leading after sale service, and low prices. " as well as things like ..."With superior quality designed into every Intex product, you are unlikely to ever need our outstanding Customer Service department. But, if you do, it's the best in the industry, and help is just a phone call away at [protected]. We will always be happy to answer your questions regarding product set up, or to supply you with a replacement for that lost or damaged part." and also things like ..." Our objective is to deliver the highest quality products at an affordable price, all designed for comfort, safety and fun. We’re proud to bring you outstanding merchandise with impeccable customer service." Sounds to me like a bunch of CRAP if you ask me. I am very disappointed as I have three small grandchildren and another on the way and it lights up my face to see them enjoy the summer at my home - and now I have to tell them sorry, we can't use our pool.
I have had the very same problems with my pool and never even used the cover. The quality of the top blow up ring especially is crap! I use my pool to exercise in as well as relax in and the stress caused by all of the issues has trashed any thoughts of relaxation. Not to mention that the pump broke and cost me over $350 to replace. I will never buy a pool with a blow up top again, it just isn't worth the hassles and headaches! Best of luck to you.
quality of product
Do not buy pool as product is mass produced in china and can have manufacturing defects, as i was told by a supervisor on the phone. Bought a 18" x 48" above ground pool at the end of season and it had remained in the sealed box for 7 months in my garage until spring. My yard was professionally leveled and was tarped twice as not to poke holes in the liner. We put up pool and it was filled within 2 days. 2 days later, the pool had drained only leaving 4 inches of water in the bottom of the pool. Called company and they said i would have to buy a new liner at a cost of $295 as the "90 day" warranty expired. I advised everyone to avoid this product as it is made in china and they don't stand behind their product or give you any contact information.
bought a 14x36 pool and it has holes in the hoses from pump them I fill it up and find it has 2 holes in it at the seam of the liner.
i purchashed one of ur intex pools for the season at K-Mart in Dayton, ohio.i go to set it up and to my suprise my hoses leading from the pump had pin holes all thru them had to replace them and then as my pool is almost all the way filled 2500 gallons later we noticed we was loosing water due to 2 holes in the liner the seam dwn in the pool which caused me to have to drain it almost all the way jst to patch the liner, , i do so then fill back up and noticed more holes in the liner at the seam again like the previous holes in liner at the seam, now iam not sue wat ur company is doing but ur product does not reprasent u very well... My daughter bought the same pool this year puts it up and has same issue with it..what in the world is ur company doing cutting corners on ur materials to save ur company on cost on ur consumers behalf is very wrong..Now iam out over 500.00 dollars for pool and chemicals not to mention wat my water bill is going to look like for this tremedous screw up on ur companies part! I sure hope this matter is resolved quickly cause Kmart has told me to contact u guys not them they jst sell ur product thats it!Its u guys who have to make this right! I have every receipt fpr everything ive had to purchase for this non swimable pool from ur Intex pool co.so i do hope ur company makes this right and contact me asap cause i have also contacted the BB&B on ur company ur company has to many screw ups in my book this year, i knw to many ppl who r having the same issues with these pools in all different sizes at that so to me that says u guys have been cuttin corners in ur material dept.which isnt very fair to us consumers&our families who have to pay for ur mistakes.. Thank you for ur time and i do hope this matter is quickly resolved! Sincerely Mrs. Steffanie Harris
inquiry
We bought a queen sized air mattress, raised downy back in December/2014. Used it 3x, for when my grandmother, who weighs all of 120lbs, would come for holidays. We have used it 3x, and it developed some sort of leak into the "raised" part and now we have a giant hump in the middle of the bed. Rendering it useless. (See pic below). I tried contacting them, got someone who broke spoken english that i could barely understand. When I requested someone that spoke clearer English, they told me they were unable to transfer calls. I requested a manager, and once again got the same "unable to transfer calls" BS response. She told me I could hang up and try for someone else. For a company that (right on their website) claims they have "impeccable customer service", they have no idea what theyre talking about. I am completely disgusted.
pool pump
ll of the pumps have the ceramic shafts that breaks. I ordered the replacement part several times before I got smart. This how I get even for the cheap pump. First oder a new pump from walmart. Then take the eight screw out of the top of pump motor. Remove the pump propeller and stick it in old pump. Put old propeller in new pump and send back saying new pump dosent work. Also if the old pump looks good, just stick the whole old pump back in the box and keep the new. This may seem wrong, but I have found its the only way to keep the piece of crap working. The pump should work quietly when it starts getting a little loud or you have to tap it to get it running. That is when the ceramic shafts is broken. Order or get a new one on the way. This way the cost gets booted back to intex. Shipping and everything. If they would put a little quality in we wouldn't have to compromise or morals to get even.
I have had my Intex pool since 2010 and enjoy it! BUT...the pumps do not last! The first one, the one that came with the pool, lasted about a month. The service light came on and the pump was replaced, no questions. Then the next summer that one had to be replaced. I bought the separate filter pump and salt water system. It lasted a little longer and I replaced it with the sand filter pump. DO NOT GET THAT ONE! Assembly was a nightmare and customer support even worse!
I went back to the smaller pump and system. This summer I hooked the replacement for that and sent the sand filter pump to be recycled.
For the Ultra Frame 16' I have the "Krystal Clear Saltwater System & Filter Pump, Model CS7111". It had to be replaced after a month. The replacement keeps alerting "High Salt". All trouble shooting has been done and the pool supply store water check found all chemicals within normal limits. (Chlorine perfect--although "high salt"! ?)
Now, when I spoke with CSR about that issue I was told to "cut off the electrical cord and send a picture of the pump and we will replace it". Cut off the electrical cord? REALLY? The reason? So Intex will know it is not working and cannot be sold to anyone. Seems they've had a issue with folks calling in for new pumps when the current one works just fine.
Now, I wonder what is supposed to be done until the second replacement arrives?
defective - lousy customer service
Purchased on black friday. Opened for grandchild to sleep on for christmas eve. Seam cut and will not hold air. Filed a claim according to website instructions and sent everything they requested. Repeated calls to customer service and I have literally spent hours on hold everytime. Cannot talk to a human being & have not heard anything regarding a replacement or a refund. Lousy! I can recite their lies about great customer service. I have no proof that there is anyone working there. Buyer beware! I will be relentless!
i got 2 of the intex mattress and the same result after 60 to 90 days they both form a bubble and you cannot sleep on them anymore
Bought intex air mattress from Walmart in bay city mi slept on mattress one time, next day it was flat couldn't find the hole anywhere.. Took intex mattress back to Walmart and they said since the box was opened wouldn't give me my money back but they did an even exchange before I left the store they cut the tape and opened the box. I got the mattress home and saw my husband had already stopped and bought another one from somewhere else so I had to return back to Walmart with the mattress that was never removed from the box. Walmart said they could not give me my money back because the box had been opened... This is bad customer service I am so mad now I have an air mattress that I don't need or want never removed from the box and I can't even get my money back. I'm going to call the better business bureau and make a complaint. On both intex and Walmart. Both are at fault. The customer service rep at Walmart said it never use to be that way but they have so many problems with intex air mattresses walmart don't want to keep taking a lose. Somebody needs to set these businesses straight without us customers they would not be in business. What ever happened to the customer is always right? What happened to great customer service. I'm going to the bay city times and the TV news to let everyone know what to watch out for. Sincerely 'Not Happy'
can't buy replacement parts for my krystal clear saltwater system
I have been trying to get replacement o-rings for my Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System since July of 2014. The company is no help whatsoever. They even tried telling me I had never called them before about the problem! This was after repeated phone calls and hours of my time! They told me the part is back ordered. Back ordered since last JULY! I can't use the pool with no clorine. The company will not return any of my emails. Don't buy from this company, you'll be stuck with expensive equipment you can't use when you need replacement parts. They Stink!

rip at seam of pool
I bought an Intex pool at Walmart last season. The pool was supposed to come with a ladder which it did not. I called the company and they said it was too late for them to do anything. I set the pool up as instructed.( I have set this pools before with no problems, just wanted a bigger one). About 3 weeks later I came home from work and the pool was empty. A hole along the seam about 3 feet long busted. No one had been in the pool for over a week. Poor Quality to say the least.

I HAVE NEVER HAD TO DEAL WITH SUCH RUDE AND INCONSIDER PEOPLE WHEN TRYING TO GET A REPLACEMENT PART. MY WARRANTY IS OUT AND I NEED A SIMPLE CHEAP PART BUT THERE OLNY SUGGESTION IS TO SPEND A COUPLE HUNDRED DOOLARS AND BUY A COMPLETE NEW PUMP. WHAT A JOKE, NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANYTHING FROM INTEX POOLS AGAIN.
bad liner bad customer service
We purchased the 16x48 pool and loved it the first season. Before winter was over the liner had ripped around the seam on the bottom of the pool. We have been trying to get a replacement liner for over a month now. We ordered one and it was the wrong liner. It cost us $30 to have it shipped to us and $70 to ship it back to them. Now they tell us the liner we need is out of stock and would be available in a week. That was over a month ago. It took 5 phone calls and 3 weeks to get our refund for the first pool liner they sent us. Today I called again 2 different times and was told 2 different things about the liner. The first lady said there's no way of knowing when it would be available and then hung up on me. The next lady said 3-4 more weeks before it is available! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told the supervisor doesn't know anything either. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with and think it's ridiculous that they can't tell me anything about this liner! She told me to call another company to try and get the liner or find another pool! I didn't spend $600 to use a pool one season! To top it off it'll cost me an additional $300 to get a new liner! This is a prime example on why you should always buy American products! Chinese business is horrible to customers and their products suck!

bad pump
intex pools, subject of much bad reading, yes 18"x48" pool with a [censored] 1500 gal an hour pump rate, sad thing is this is my second pool first was that real cheap bladder pool about 16"x48" with the air ring at the top. it came with a 2000 gal exchange pump which still functions well must of got a good one lucky me the pool however lasted two years before coming apart. we since bought the second one which is the metal ring put together, it came with the 635t very underrated pump for the size of pool, i still use the 520 or 2000 gal per hour pump we got with first pool does much better however is not enough for over 8, 0000 gal of water in a tree and bug invested area like ours country living. however with much work and tlc we can enjoy the pool weekly with large electric bill s and back breaking scrubbing and vacueming its nice. bull shi--- pardon the french in this but as you all say what a rip off, intex should be banned from the us as a hazard to econmic and health related risk not to mention mental issues how many of you have gone off the deep end (no pun intended) setting up and trying to get the damn thing to run properly? i cant count how many times i had to retrieve an item i air dried by giving a great big toss in the air over the stupidity of the manufacter and of course myself for not looking into web sites BEFORE buying a piss poor item like intex makes and when you all talk about customer surface being non exsistent that an understatement unless you say i pay cash now no help at all thanks for the vent take care and stay clear of intex

saltwater system
Contacted Intex regarding saltwater system in Summer of 2013 to order Electrolytic Cell part. The saltwater system was only 1 year old at the time. Representative said the part was on back order. Never received part. Called again this spring to see what happened. First of all, you can not understand the representatives. I had to ask her many of times to repeat herself. I could only understand bits and pieces. What I did get from the conversation is, we should have received an email to fill out a claims form. Never received it. Try to verify the email address they had on file, was not correct. Now the representative says, I need a receipt from the purchase of the saltwater system or I have to pay for the replacement part. Of course I don't have the receipt anymore, it's been almost two years. The replacement part will cost $80.98. What? The system costs $199 new. I asked to speak with a manager. Representative said one would call back. She took my number. Never received a call back. To sum this up, DO NOT BUY INTEX products. Breaks only after a short time and not worth replacing. Never buying an Intex product again.

do not stand behind products
They do not stand behind the products they sell, purchased an Intex sand filter pump assembly less than 2 years ago, tank is leaking water now and should be covered by warranty for 2 years. I emailed them and received several rude threatening emails in return but no assistance to correct issue. They will not send me the documents required to give to Intex so they can warranty part and Intex will not correct issue either. WCS does not have a phone that a normal person could call and speak to a person only email. I would say BUYER BEWARE! Do not waste your time or money on Intex or Windy City Superstore products and they sell on ebay as well don't be robbed as I was.

I am currently dealing with a similar issue with this seller. I bought my pump from Walmart.com and wish I had choosen to buy from another seller. Beware of them, they have a rediculous 20 percent restocking fee even if you want to exchange the item. This seller also won't give out a phone number, you have to email them and half of the time they don't respond. I had to contact Walmart customer service and they tried contacting the seller and were unable to get in touch with them.
This customer purchased an Intex Sand Filter from us on March 23rd, 2012. The posted retail return period is 30 days. The manufacturer's warranty is 2 years from the purchase date. We clearly state, for pre-sale review, that our return policy is a standard 30 days. We also clearly state that the 2 year warranty is administered directly by the manufacturer, not us. This is also standard. On September 24th, 2013, a full 1 1/2 years after the purchased date, this customer contacted us requesting warranty information because she needed a part. On September 25th, 2013, she was given the toll free number to Intex Consumer Services for assistance and a copy of her receipt. That is all she needed. This lady REFUSED to make the phone call that would have resolved her product issue free of charge. Instead, she decided to get medieval nasty with us. She threatened every possible terrible thing she could think of if WE did not send her the part. We explained to her that we do not have parts and that only the manufacturer does. She would not accept this and make a simple phone call. Please keep in mind that we cannot make the phone call for her or we would have just to make her go away. The manufacturer's warranty is applicable for the end user only. She decided that she was going to extort us into sending her a part, we don't have. She continued to threaten, be nasty, rude and aggressive. To protect our customer service agents, we had to cut off further communications. She contacted the BBB and they just closed the file because it was so ridiculously unreasonable. She then went on here and posted a bunch of BS. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. Ignorance is not a defense. The fact is that windyctysuperstore.com has been in business for over 8 years. We have a 99.8 % customer satisfaction rate with hundreds of thousands of customers served. We do take care of our customers. We handle all reported product issues within our 30 day return policy and we will assist customers with manufacturer warranty claims for the duration of the warranty period if the return period has expired. For this lady to post the malarkey that she has, is ridiculous. She is a very unpleasant, unhappy person that should really consider some treatment for her issues. Life is too short.
pool ladder rust unsafe
We purchased an ultra frame above ground 52" pool complete with salt water filtration system. Salt water causes corrosion on the pool ladder. After only 2 seasons the ladder poles disintegrated. We purchased replacement poles for the ladder from Intex. However, they could not be installed because the old parts were so rusted they would not come apart. We had to purchase an entirely new ladder, which we did from Intex.
Problem: Intex will not bear the return costs on all the replacement parts we purchased but which cannot be installed. They say we are stuck with the return shipping on these very large parts even though we purchased an entirely new ladder from them.
What sort of terrible customer service is this? We are either stuck with the parts or stuck paying $$ to return them.
Terrible, terrible company.

product doesn't hold up
We purchased a 24 ft round intex pool. Brought it home and there was a patch on the liner from the factory. The store where we purchased it replaced it. The floor of this one had a pin hole which we found and was able to repair. This year there was 2 more pin holes and we stopped counting there as they were on opposite sides of the pool. We purchased this along with their Krystal clear salt filter which also didn't work so we went to the local pool store and purchased chlorine. This iis what Intex told us to do. Total money spent was $960, 00 on this pool to get up and running. Doesn't include water bill and chemicals. We purchased it May 21, 2011 and this year when we set the pool and found more pin holes it had to be trashed. So for this amount of money we were able to use this maybe 2 summers and in May 2013 it was trash. Intex is not a reliable company and I will tell anyone thinking of purchasing a pool from them DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! My family is very disappointed that we don't have a pool this year and that their service is so poor.
wrong liner size in box
I purchased 18x48 pool for $449. Got it home, set it up, filled it up with water. I noticed there were two small holes on top area of the liner and the ground cloth were missing. I called Intex and discovered the pool size is 16x48, that is a $100 difference. Intex carried me on a run around and displayed unprofessionalism by hanging up on me 3 times. When I called back, one of the associated named Jose, said that there's nothing they can do, and if I continue to call, it's harassment and they would contact their legal department.
did not hold up!!!
