Intoxalock Intoxalock dl920 form

I have called intoxalock 4 times to have sent to me a dl920 form which states proof of installation for the DMV to validate my license. All times they say it will process 24-48 hours and arrive in 3-5 days. The form never comes and they refuse to patch me to someone who can send it directly to me. Customer service is rude and refuses to patch me to someone who can guarantee the arrival of the form. They do not respond when I email the admin email about the dl920 form. I have had the device since 3/26/22 and it is now 4/25/22 and I have been unable to drive while being billed for the device. I get multiple notifications when the time comes for me to pay, yet they cannot send me the proof of installation. I am paying for a service I cannot use and feel this company does not care for its customers in the slightest. They are horrible and I do not recommend you go through them

Desired outcome: Send me my DL920 form, as I’ve asked 4 times in the last month

Intoxalock Ignition interlock device

Unfortunately, I'm no strangers to DUI's I've had interlocks installed in my car before and I have never had trouble with them the way I am having dealing with Intoxalock.

First, I made an appointment to get a device before I had the car I was getting. This meant I didn't have the VIN for the car, which the sales associate on the phone told me would be no problem. Once I had the car, I admit, I forgot to call to give the VIN number. However, I had to call twice to reschedule the appointment (due to the date of me getting a car changing) and at no point did an associate remind me I needed my VIN, and though I can bare part of the blame on that, it is pretty terrible customer service to have to change an appointment twice and not review the account info or anything.

So the day I got my device, I did not have the required DMV form for licensing, whcih I found at AT the DMV. So I immediately call Intoxalock and get transferred to their call center. Most of the associates spoke with an accent, so I assume it is a callcenter based out of Asia. Anyway, the day I call to ask about the form, I give them my VIN number and they say that they will send the form right away, overnight shipping. This is on a Tuesday. I call two days later on a Thursday, and they tell me the form had not been shipped and it would be sent the following day (Friday). They have no reason why and they refuse to let me talk with a supervisor. I call Saturday and they assure me I will be getting it Monday. Today is that Monday, and there is no form. I called twice, one guy gave me a tracking number, but it didn't work, so I called again and the next guy I spoke to couldn't verify my tracking number, but he assured me I'd be getting it tomorrow. I've had the dumb device in my car for almost a week, I'm all paid up, and cannot drive because I haven't been given the form. They have not made any attempt to rectify this mistake or compensate the inconvenience. Their customer service is non existent and they're making something that's already hugely inconvenient even more so.

Also, there device is clunky, larger than a classic Gameboy. It has a button you have to press and requires a blow, suck, blow pattern that is probably not the easiest thing to do while driving. If you have a DUI and have to get an Interlock, don't make another mistake and go with Intoxalock. I'm seriously thinking of getting it uninstalled and going with another company just so I don't have to pay them for another year.

For real,

Sacramento, CA

Desired outcome: I'd like to have one month of my lease Comped. I shouldn't have to pay so much for such unbelievably poor service and negligence on behalf of the company.

Intoxalock Rip off, liars, that just keep costing you money

Truck wouldn't crank on a Wednesday and I've called numerous times to let them know that the device has been acting up. This is also my third device in 13 months. So my truck wouldn't crank and the operator kept telling me it was my battery. After paying $500 to get it towed to the service center it was not my battery. It's sat there for a day just to find out that it was the wire harness. So with the truck sitting over the weekend and work doesn't sit to the side while your truck is sitting to the side here we are Monday still without a truck. This little incident has cost me thousands of dollars because I own my own business and I cannot get to the job with my tools. And talks a lot crediting back one payment of $60. They will not let me talk to a supervisor but they did say that they would reimburse me on the tow so we're waiting on that. This is just bs, this company is a joke and just there to charge you.

So if I lost my job and everything else I guarantee I would lose my license because I wouldn't be able to pay for my device. So hmmm let's think about that one intoxalock

Desired outcome: I want more money, I'll go through my time with the device but it costing me my jobs that pay my bills that ain't cool.

Intoxalock Ignition Interlock System

Issue with interlock system - Somehow with the installation of the system , it had drained my car battery to the point of having to buy two new ones and having to trailer the car to my appointments at least twice .

As a result of being locked out of the system after replacing batteries , I had to start all over again . Therefore had to pay for 8 months of service instead of 4 months required .

After NOT having any incidents since the original incident (no alcohol at all because I really dont drink ) I would really love to go to My next step in getting my license back . Need a letter from Intoxalock in order to do so .

Desired outcome: Only wish to get a Letter to be able to move on to the next step . Need a Letter stating that I have completed 4 months with ignition interlock system .

Intoxalock Hand held device

Yearly my Intoxalock device has killed a battery. I've purchased 4 new batteries as a result.

In addition the violations has led to years of additional required installation of interlock systems in my vehicles. My last violation added 595 days.

My truck motor actually blew up driving home after an intoxalock device was removed from it.

Top sign your smart phone has been hacked. Excessive battery drain.

Intoxalock Talk to a live person!

April 9th as a existing customer, I had a question about a violation I received. I called several times and could NEVER get a actual person. They were telling me if I had a problem for example for violations press 3. it would give me different options but none of them offered the ability to talk live, to a agent. And that was for billing and other offered options.

I need to have the ability to talk to a agent.

Intoxalock Equipment and the worst customer service

Anyone who might be considering using the intoxalock should highly reconsider and consider what I am about to tell you.

I tried to have the toxic lock installed in my vehicle and after about 4 hrs the mechanics said the equipment was faulty and they would not be able to finish the install.

Here's where is starts to get fun..

After the faulty equipment was removed I had to pay for removal because toxiclock instructed the mechanic to charge me 200$ if I didn't want to wait a week for new possibly more faulty equipment to be shipped back the shop so they could try the install over again.

Not to mention this shop is a 2 hr drive for me not that they give a front.. gas prices hello I dont drive a tesla🤦

For clarity...

THERE IS AND NEVER WAS INTOXICLOCK IN MY VEHICLE OUTSIDE OF THE MECHANIC SHOP..

Fast forward a month later and I am still being billed for toxiclock and roadside assistance for equipment that I have never had or used.

They only thing they are willing to refund is 4 $ for roadside assistance so basically zero refunds and untold hours on the phone with people in Dubai who all do nothing but run you around endlessly so you are literally loosing your mind and give up..

They know nobody will hire an attorney over a few hundred dollars so they give no effs what so ever and proudly fly the middle finger 🖕 to customers.

Negative 1000 ⭐️'s for these idiots!

These kind of shady businesses should be illegal and fined or shut down and it should be illegal to blatantly rip people off 🤬

Any reviews you see for toxic lock will be all bad if not terrible nightmare status..

I would suggest the company called lifesaver.. flawless operation easy install no blow n suck just blow and humm plus thier customer service is premium..

Southern oregon

4/7/22

Desired outcome: Refund from intoxalock and for everyone to save themselves tons of suffering / money and take a titanium ironwood hard pass on intoxalock.

This company is terrible. After installing their device after being mandated by the courts for a 90 day period it’s nearly impossible to get a work order for removal. Apparently their “compliance” department is not available to speak with. Their customer service reps can’t contact them. Really? They have my unrestricted license and it’s clear with the Motor Vehicle Commission in my state that I’ve met my requirement. Short of hiring an attorney I’m at a loss at this point. My removal date was almost 2 weeks ago. Of course I’m being charged while having a device I’m no longer required to have.

Intoxalock Intoxalock- Lockout fee

On 03/18 22 I went out to my car and started it. Everything was fine. I forgot something in the house so i shut it off and went back to the house. I came back out to start the car less than 5 min. later and it wouldn't start and had a lockout. I had a new perscription for an inhaler from the doctor given to me on 03/15. First time I used it was 03/18. I am sure this is what caused the lockout. They didn't want to hear it. The lockout was taken care of on 03/19 and was $75 plus $20 to the place. Looking at my bill they charged me $79.69 plus two processing fees of $3.19. I called three times trying to get the lockout fee removed seeing it was probably from the inhaler. They said I would hear in 24 to 48 hours. I didn't. One guy told me it would most likely be removed. It wasn't. I called back and got nowhere as usual with them. I am not happy as they seem to be all about the money. I am looking for an alternative to Intoxalock as I live in mass. and there are about 3 other options nearby.

Desired outcome: Please remove the lockout fee as I don't think it's justified. This was not do to alcohol.

Intoxalock Admin Closing Fee

I was charged an Admin Fee of $64.94 on 03/24/2020 in addition to their regular monthly charge when I provided a signed court ordered document and requested that their device be removed from my vehicle. This sounds to me like an authorized charge and the price of doing business that I should not be forced to pay.

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for the admin fee.

Intoxalock Intoxalock

When I got a dui. I took it serious. I decided to get through this as easy as possible. I would play the game and quit drinking. Which I did. Once my court. And classes where done. I needed an interlock installed. I went with intoxalock.

I regret that very much. Nobody ever mentioned that I could get non alcohol violations that costed me time and money. Basically this device keeps you from driving your vehicle untill you produce a breath annalasis showing no alcohol in your system. So why is it that if you get in your car. And out of habit put your key in the ignition. You get a violation 11 Which means you have 48 hours to get your car to the service center and pay $75.00 to intoxalock. And $20.00 to the guy at the shop. Falling under tampering with the device. How is that tampering when the sole purpose of the device is keeping you from starting the car. After the first time. You can bet I was well aware. And didnt do that again. Yet this thing spit out 4 violation 11 codes in the first month costing me $495.00 extra.

If you dont pay. They lock you out. Good luck trying to talk to someone and complain. The install was poor. Wires hung down from under my dash where my feet would kick them. I complained 3 times befor the guy cleaned it up. Then I was stranded my car would not start I passed and it said start car. But nothing. I sat in a parking lot for hours trying to reach a person When I did we performed some test to find out the unit was at fault. I had to have it towed. They had to send a new unit to be installed. That took five days with no car. I asked the guy if they could do a check on the old unit. To see if it caused those random violations. And I could get my $495.00 credited back to me. He said yes. But I never could get one email or phone call about that. The second unit started out ok. But left me stranded in the exact same way. But this time I was a hundred miles from service center. And the roadside assistance only tows 6 miles for free. Im on disability I cant afford these unjustified violations or to come out of my pocket when it is their equiptment failing. I had no choice but to rip out that pos. Im not leaving my car behind. Now im going to be in serious trouble as I try to find a different company to install a different brand in my car. What a nightmare. I quit drinking. I did everything right. Up till the end when I lost it after bbeing extorted so much money. I had no choice.

I researched and learned this company claims to install 100,000. Units in cars every year. In 48 states. Imagine the money they are making on there little side scam extorting people for non alcohol related violations. Millions of dollars.

And you cant do anything about it. Only thing left to try is bbb. Do not use intoxalock. They dont care about you at all.

Desired outcome: I want my money back for the non alcohol violations that popped up even though i did nothing tohave them pop up. At minimum

Intoxalock Need to get reimbursed for towing fee

Last month, due to all the snow and bad weather, my car battery died. Therefore, my interlock wasn't acting right. It kept asking me to blow and it said I was good to go but then it wouldn't start my car. It also didn't say lockout on my handheld part. I called intoxalock and we did everything we could to prevent us from having to tow it to my place of calibration. Although nothing worked. They said I can turn it in and maybe I'll get reimbursed for what I spent. It's 246 dollars. I called again and who I talked to last told me that that's not possible and they don't know who told me that.

Desired outcome: Getting my money back

My horn keeps going off. It is a nonstop honk, not a beep beep. 2/21/22 was 1st time. Seems to happen after cold start or after 2minute start and ocvurs before 1st retest. Service center callibrated and gave me a new handheld 2/24/22. Fine until 3/1/22. Started again and happened 3 times that day. No message on handheld when happens. I have to pull over, turn off engine and restart. Restarts just fine with no test. 3/3/22 service put in all new wiring and handheld. 3/14/22 started again. I need this fixwd. My car is 2 years old. Can I disconnect the horn?

Thanks

Intoxalock Intoxalock

Enough is Enough. Intoxalock had my license revoked in Michigan after submitting false information that I missed a Retest 6 seconds AFTER PASSING A ROLLING TEST! I had been jumpstarting my car for a month in Jan every morning and it was officially dead 2 days later (it was obviously faulty).. I could go on and on. Bottom Line: I am filing a Civil Case here in Michigan on 3 counts

A. Gross Negligence: faulty equipment resulting in damage to my vehicle and the bogus missed retest resulting in a Major Violation and actually submitting this reading to the Michigan SOS.

B. Wreckless Endangerment: I am disabled dealing with multiple comorbidities!

To expect somebody to retest 6 seconds after Passing A Rolling Test is absurd and dangerous! Car battery dead every morning due to the Intoxalock device. I'm outside at 10 BELOW ZERO F with a chronic heart condition trying to start my car! By the way, WHAT RESULTS WERE THEY EXPECTING WITH A RETEST? AFTER PASSING A ROLLING TEST 6 SEC PRIOR? C'mon man lol I could go on...

C. Civil Rights Violation:******

>Drivers License Revoked in Michigan

> Loss of Freedom/Disruption of life (endangerment?I am disabled and can barely walk anymore due to peripheral artery disease!)

>I could go on...

But it's game on now, they've gone too far. I will be filing with the Michigan Attorney Generals Office and once again notify the BBB (in Des Moines too!)

Desired outcome: Intoxalock WILL reimburse me ALL LEGAL FEES ETC REQUIRED FOR ME TO GET MY LICENSE REINSTATED by the Michigan SOS! I have ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION

Intoxalock Defective device destroyed my car

I have to write a scathing review of this place and the Intoxalock services they provide. I had the Intoxalock unit installed at WOW Electronics in Clinton Twp. After my 2012 Jeep Patriot died due to constant draining of the battery and affecting the electrical system leaving me stranded on several occasions and paying for my dead car to be towed repeatedly to WOW, I requested for a new unit to be installed on my new car, a 2014 Jeep Compass. The out of pocket costs were astronomical approaching $10,000 plus the cost of my new car $14000. I was completely shocked and dismayed that the SAME exact dinosaur defective equipment was put on my new car. Immediately, it started to die. Destroying my brand new battery. Getting stranded, tows and etc. I decided to get it towed to Sterling By The Bay. The third biggest mistake. They replaced my new battery. At $174. Then it kept dying soon after. Then after SBTB kept telling me it was my car, not Intoxalock. After exasperating phone calls to remove the device altogether, actually screaming matches with Intoxalock and SBTB to pay for this, they both agreed to give me a brand new unit for free. New camera, internal unit, handset, a whole NEW unit. Here is where the Fraud comes in as well as blaming my car for being defective which it was not. SBTB tells Intoxalock the old unit is fine and I am responsible for all costs. After a total of 70 days being carless during the duration it was on both of my cars, they actually were going to pretend to install a new unit with only switching the handset. I demanded them to take it off my car is altogether and $100's more dollars to do this. I took pics of the unit including bent prongs, cut wires and etc. As soon as it was of my car, it ran perfect. I decided to check out Nationwide Interlock in Troy. How refreshing. The brand new unit is awesome. The people are awesome. Coolest waiting room with free arcade, recliners, coffee bar and more. But the service and knowledge was impeccable and so nice.

Intoxalock does the following:

Drains your battery 24/7 Hard to breathe in causing lockouts When cold, it takes minutes to warm up, further draining battery. Last time I blew, ice shot out Gives you all these error messages but no one knows what it means Charges $75 per lockout $25 for calibration Impossible to talk to customer service and if you get someone it is with broken English You can't drive with stereo on or you will miss rolling retest Have to start car and drive a least 20 minutes a day or car will be dead. The unit is so old, boxy, the mouthpiece continues to fall out and so much more Takes forever to defrost car and heat up I believe it was made in 1990. Pics to come

Nationwide does the following: Free installation Discounts for low income Sleek model, resembles a cell phone Easy to blow in The mouthpiece locks in Free calibration When not driving, is on sleep mode No warm up period Light strip alerts you to rolling retests so you can have your stereo on Car warms up immediately Please do not utilize Sterling By The Bay or Intoxalock. It will cost you beyond belief, and they are rude [censored]. If you need a breathalyzer on your car, run to Nationwide in Troy. They will make this trying time so much better and so less costly

Desired outcome: Intoxalock reported violations to the SOS while I was troubleshooting with them and they instructed me to repeatedly unplug and replug the device in. My license was just revoked even though I never blew anything but a0.00

Intoxalock Incorrect final reports

This company has a roadside assistance 24-7 hour service that does not work you cannot get in contact with no one within 24 hours when you are having problems with the device it's always the next day or three days later. They also charge you a fee for this roadside assistance. I reported everything that went wrong with my device including the false negative readings. The ignition interlock does Miss malfunctions at times yet we are being held accountable for the mistakes that their device causes. In the winter months no matter how below zero it is outside you are not allowed to leave your vehicle once it is started that's cruel and unusual punishment. I was dealing with battery problems that the device was flooding my battery out I reported this issue. They reported this as a tampering violation to the Secretary of State. I called them doing the process I also have maintenance paperwork from their website. There is no way to get in contact with anybody when there's a problem but yet they report all your negative false readings caused by their device to the Secretary of State blocking people from completing this program in order to get a full driver's license. This company definitely leads to be looked into with their lease contracts. They never told me that when I go get my device calibrated that I will be paying the insulation company additional $25 each time that is not in my contract with intoxalock. They first started you out on auto payment and if you don't check your account daily they have withdrew money from your bank account. Since 11/3/21 the day of my insulation I have not have nothing but stressful problems with this company in their poor customer service. I have reported them to the BBB and the Michigan Attorney General. I have not drink since 2008 this device said I blew a 0.24 at 5:18 a.m. in the morning on my way to work, it's highly impossible to drive with a alcohol level that high you basically unconscious yet they reported this too the Secretary of State as a violation I have documentation where I have talked to them about this what they told me to not worry about it. Yet they still reported it as a violation. With an alcohol level that high the vehicle was not supposed to start but yeah it started up and I went to work at 11:30 a.m. time card will prove that. Reporting false negative information to the Secretary of State ruins a person chances of getting their driver's license reinstated this company needs to be looked into and investigated for their hidden causes and fines. I have reported this issue to the Secretary of State and was told to go ahead and file the paperwork to have a review and have it removed but I still will fight for the people to have to go through this with this particular company. They are not ripping people off they are robbing people they're robbing people of their chances to get their driver's license back they're robbing people of their sobriety every time they do a false negative reading we work hard to stay sober and to be violated for something that we know is truly stealing money out of your pocket is wrong in the Secretary of State in the course don't have a clue but we have to go through hopefully this issue will be resolved with this company. Thank you for your time.

Desired outcome: My desire outcome is that this company will treat all their customers with dignity and respect.
