employee sent 2 men into the women's fitting room without prior notice - arcadia, ca
Store: Santa Anita Mall, Arcadia CA
Date: 8/18/2017
Time: Approximately 4:45pm
Where: Upstairs, 2nd floor Women's Fitness wear
I was in the fitting room trying on clothes when I heard 2 men walking in and then all of a sudden my door flungs open and I immediately hold the door.
I was half dressed. I quickly changed and confronted these 2 men and I asked them 1) why did you open my door and 2) why are you in the women's fitting room... their answers were 1) the door was slightly ajar and 2) the cashier told them it was ok to go into the Women's fitting room.
Both my husband and I were appalled! I felt violated and disrepected.
We asked the men to show us the Cashier who gave them permission to go to the Women's fitting room.
Her name is Valerie Delgado, her explanation was that the men's fitting room was not available. However, the men's department is on the 1st floor, downstairs... you are telling me that there are no other men's fitting rooms available in the entire store?!?!?
Valerie continued to work and did not apologize. We asked for the manager, however that took about 15 minutes before a manager came.
Then the manager Frances Ramirez wanted to speak to us in the corner.
Really? You want to shut us up and not tell the other customers that you are allowing men into the Women's fitting room!
Valerie's attitude did not care about how I felt. She did not apologize.
We asked for the GM name and number.
I tried calling for a whole week, no answer to [protected] xt 200. I could not even leave a message. What kind of store is JCPenney. Your phone system doesn't allow you to leave a voicemail!
My husband and I want a letter from the CEO of JCPenney apologizing on what happend. I now do not feel safe at JCPenney. The Sales/Cashier's should be trained properly.
Thank you,
Carmen M.
customer service/management
I was in the JCP at Tanforan Mall, South San Francisco looking for a pair of White Converse, Women's Lowtop - online showed that they had them in stock, I called the 800# and they also verified that they were in stock - so i left work to go and purchase them. I went to women's shoes, Miguel verified that there were 6 pair in the store but he couldn't locate them. He suggested i go to the Mens department and ask there, which I did. When I approached the register where 3 ladies were standing around talking - I mentioned I needed help with shoes and 2 of the 3 dispersed with no words. The 3rd one then said I have ti finish my other customer then I will be with you...smh. She looked for the shoes and was also unable to find them and said that maybe they are down in shipping - never once offering to have someone look. I then went back to the initial guy, Miguel, and asked for a manager. I explained to her my frustrations and she said she understood and would have someone go look for them immediately and they would call me when they located them. She took my contact info and PROMISED to have someone call - that was Friday, August 18 - as of today, August 25, still no call. I even called the Store General Manager on Monday to discuss, left him a message asking for a call and he too has not called back - now I see where the associates get the behavior pattern from.
retail service
We went to the JCPennys in Ogden Utah. Our first impression was the store was not well kept and messy. We could not find items effectively. There's was no reconvert done to the store. We saw several associates. None asked to assist us or even acknowledged us. When finally were able to find the correct sizes. When we got to the checkout, only 1 item was marked correctly. There was obviously no effort made with the promos. Not a single promotion was right. Not just off by a little but off by $30-$40. What was right was a 3.99 clearance shirt for my daughter. I am very upset with my visit and I don't think I will be shopping at this JCPennies again.
return policy
i made a purchase totaling $66.19 during lunch hour. unfortunately, i need to return the items. due to the RAR i am unable still unable to make the return. i have disputed the information on the but have not receive and a solution. per the return policy i should be able to perform this action. i have already closed my jcp account over being treated like a fault customer, however, i will not be paying the acct balance of $66.19 as i have tried unsuccessfully to return your unworn, resale-condition merchandise per store policy. please assist/advise in any way possible.
I placed two online orders - one for a set of draperies and one for a Roman shade. I paid through PayPal and received my merchandise in a timely fashion. However, the colors were not what I needed so I returned the items (within 10 days of receiving them) at the JCPenney store at Central Mall in Lawton, OK. The store associate informed me that, because I paid via PayPal, she could not refund via PayPal so she refunded to my bank account. However, both returns were $8.95 short of the total on each ticket! I made a return to Home Depot, the same day, similar circumstances, and they were able to refund my PayPal account!?! I doubt that I will utilize JCP anymore. At this rate, they will go the way of Montgomery Ward, Sears and K-Mart...poor customer service.
awful service
Awful. Terrible. Horrible.
the worst return experience with their store... My return was 5 days over 35 days return period. And everything they offered was a simple store credit. No exceptions for loyal customers in this case! What kind of service is that? Managers were extremely rude asking me to not shop with them again. But you know, you don't need to ask for it, I will never do it again. So unprofessional. AWFUL!
appalling
I was a witness of how a manager was yelling at 3 other employees in front of customers. He yelled something like: what were you thinking? Do you think someone cares about your problems?
He understood that many people were looking at him and probably felt like a king. But humiliating women in front of the others is not a royal behavior, it's a piece of crap and it doesn't make you a man, dude.
I felt so sorry for those women and I'm asking to look into this matter and not to ignore it.
online order cancelled, reward lost
I received an email stating that I received a $10 reward. I found a pair of shoes I wanted to order online. I could not access the rewards. When I tried to log into the reward program, it said my email address was already being used. The original email I received did not contain the reward number needed to use as it always did in the past. After 20 minutes with no success, I called customer service and obtained the reward number which I wrote on a piece of paper. I order the shoes which were on sale for $35, used the reward and threw away the paper it was written on. Two days later, the order was cancelled as the inventory was no longer available. Weeks later, I tried to use the reward in a JCPenney store and was told I didn't have a reward. The clerk gave me the reward phone number to call. After being on hold for 35 minutes, I gave up. My order was cancelled on July 14th. I finally got through to customer service on August 21st and was immediately told to be patient, they were having problems with the system. I told her I already waited five weeks. I gave her my order number and was told the shoes were now in stock and she would place the order and credit the $10 reward. I asked the price and were told they were $60. No longer on sale for $35. I said forget it and still don't have my reward back.

employee
We were back to school shopping at jcpenny in elmira, ny at the arnot mall we were there all day and we finally got to jcpenny around 4:00 pm today.. we were walking to the mens section and my boyfriend said o my there's a guy in leather coat and boots didn't believe him so we continued shopping down by the baby clothes and we had to go back down to other side for mens underwear and socks at this time it was 5:30pm I saw this kid walking in the isle black leather coat with a ride on it black eye liner bright red lipstick and high healed boots that went past his knees and oh my Lord the way he was walking was like the heels we're hurting his feet and they were too big was one of the weirdest things on my life so we were laughing to our selves my mother, my boyfriend and myself and we were looking in the underwear isle and he dissapeared so do it was probably 5:40 ish we were walking toward end of the underwear section and my boyfriend points and says look for clearance I look and this guy peeks his head out from behind the shelf in his hideous outfit rolls over on his hands and knees and walks passed us and I really thought he was on drugs I was so in shock he walks over and goes behind the cash register it was like slow motion and we turn to look at my mother and the kid walks over to a pole and hides behind it staring at us then he sees us see him and he took off somewhere else another employee came up to us and said do you need help finding anything I said no but that guy was just behind the cash register and he says yes he is an employee I said well he wasn't in dress code? He says it's casual Sunday we can were what we want is that an issue? Very sarcastic and I was dumb founded I was speechless and said never mind and we walked to check out and left. This boy did not have on any red shirt or a name tag nothing he was very suspicious and myself being a boss of a huge national corporation was so disgusted the way he was walking and acting how can you work in 6inch high heal boots that go all the way to your knee caps and a leather jacket when it's 85 degrees out I was speechless. I don't care if it was casual Sunday wear jeans and a t-shirt he looked like a drugged up weirdo I would never want him to assist me and the other guy that was very sarcastic about if there was an issue yes there was a damn issue of an employee with no name tag and didn't know how to work it in high heel boots!
a sales associate
I going to be honest I don't work for the store but my partner do. I work for Home Depot, Right next door. So our hours are pretty much the same. And I as a outsider. I see a lot. I see you have a sexual predator as an employee. Every break he takes he is sexing a different co-worker on the premises. Which is right on the blind side of the building. He acts like he is going out for air. And a female gets in her car and the are on the side of that building sexing. My problem and which should be yours as well. The sexual harassment policy and the protocols. Because if someone comes out and say something. And it can be a real problem. Now to my experiences I have had in the store. An associate in the Saporaha department had coursed me and belittle for no reason at all. I turned and asked her if she knew me. She then said I was her boyfriends estranged girlfriend. And when I saw who she was referring to. I let her know I was not her. But I let her know I did know his wife which was in the store. I let a manager know what was going on. I was quickly called a 🤥 liar. And I left that store. It was sad very much appalling that store really don't value there customers at all. Plus I would call this place a brothal than a department store. Sad 😭 but true.
st. john bay women untie sandal
I placed an order for the sandals on August 12, 2017. In stock for my size is what it said. I had not heard anything on my order so I called the 800 number only to be told that there was an issue with my order and it's possible that they were damaged but the Penney's in my area should have should have sent me an email . I chatted online with a Caroline who could not give me an explanation except I needed to check with my area store to see f they had my email on file so I could contact me. I am done with JC Penney because the same thing happened to me back in December when I ordered a pair of boots.
ordering via the jcp.com website is a waste of time
Such a long story, and I am certain nothing will come from my taking the time to complain here, but here goes.
Ordered items on 8-14 at 10am. Items were in stock and OK for same day pickup. Got a confirmation email for the order, but never a call or email to pick up. Long story short, many attempts to contact 800 cust. svc for resolution (they just said, "call the store"), nobody answered the phone at 3 different departments when I called the store. Finally went to Twitter to complain. Couple days later (order still showing "In process" on my acct page), got a call from some guy saying items had to be shipped from elsewhere. I said OK. Today, 5 days after my order was placed, and after I complained to the Twitter JCP support account again, I got a call from some guy to tell me "Your order cannot be fulfilled, we will credit your account." Why not, I asked? He said, "I don't know, that's just what 'they' told me to tell you."
I go immediately to the JCP.com site for the items I wanted, all are there, and all say available for same day pickup. I've complained on Twitter again, but they don't give a darn about a customer who has TRIED to support them at every opportunity. Disgusted.
returns
I am extremely upset. I have a been a loyal JCP customer for years! I buy MOST of my clothes at JCP. I was recently told I cant return anything. I purchase a lot online and will order multiple sizes to see what fits, and return what doesn't. Since I can no longer do this. I will not be shopping with JCP any longer, which is unfortunate, because I really love Liz Claiborne for work clothes. I looked online to see what the Retail Equation Company is all about and was mortified to learn that their reason for being is to detect and prevent return FRAUD and abuse. I assure you there is nothing fraudulent about my returns. I always have my receipt's. When I shop in the store I prefer to try clothing on at home... if it doesn't look right, I return it, the same as the online purchases. JCP does a great job of enticing one to purchase online because of bigger discounts. So to get the bigger discount, I will buy online... this all makes no sense. I would imagine that the majority of people who get this no return message are women, why... because we buy and change our minds! I recently purchased a dress in 2 sizes...1 fits, I love it, I wore it and the other I tried to to return. I had the receipt, the dress had the tags on it... and I could not return it and I am very upset. I spend my hard earned money and you refuse to give it back, even though you would be getting your perfectly intact item back to re-sell. This is wrong! I could see if I was trying to return without receipts, (and I ALWAYS keep my receipts), I could see where that could be considered Fraud. I would imagine there are people that will shoplift and return items to get money for things they did not buy. I assure you this is not me. I really am beside myself and am dumbstruck at the audacity of your company to do this.
No more JCP for me...

customer service
My mother, 4-year-old brother and I went to JCPenny today, August 18th, 2017. My mom found this cute, tight black dress and I found a denim throw on. Of course, we go to the nearest exit to our car. My mom's card wasn't being accepted. So the tall, Caucasian man turned it around for us and did the card thingy. He is maybe 5'9 tall, bald and a bit large. His name tag said Jake and it was around 6:25. He presses credit and me being a really shy and being told to say something to him by my mom, I say in a really high-pitched and kind voice: "Um, excuse me sir, but her card is debit, not credit." Let me remind you I am a 12 year old girl. He says back in the rudest voice: "It doesn't matter if it's debit or not. It's not safe to put your pin in the machines." It was to the point that I got mad at the 50-year-old. It has been the rudest experience and even my mother agrees. If he did this to other people he deserves to get fired. I'm not trying to be petty or anything but it's true. He has no experience in customer service at all, if that is how he treats the clients.
fitting rooms
Visited the South Jordan store on Aug 14, 2017. Went school.shopping for my jr girl. The fitting rooms had clothes piled high in every corner and two baskets piled high outside of the rooms. We attempted to shop but none of the racks were sorted by size. The Levi's were all in the wrong place. Walmart has cleaner areas tan this store. We left immediately. As we walked out there were two ladies folding in the area. I've always thought of jc Penney as a better brand. This experience changed all of that.
order number [protected]
I received an email and phone call from JCP indicating my order was ready for pick up on August 9, 2017. I went to the Riverdale, UT store on August 15, 2017 to pick up my order. First the employee told me they didn't have my order, when I showed her the email I received she went back to the storage area and after 35 minutes she came back to tell me they didn't have my order. She then does some more research and tells me that there was a shortage on the items I ordered and that my ordered was cancelled and my credit card had been reimbursed for the charges. I logged into my bank to find out my card has not (and still has not) been reimbursed.
I am extremely disappointed that I was not informed that my order was cancelled and that I had to spend 1.5 hours in the store to find out this information.
It makes it difficult for me to want to continue shopping with JCP after this incident.

an order that was accidentally made
I was shopping on your app and my daughter accidentally submitted the order I wasn't able to use any of my coupons or rewards and called customer care the wait was 39 minutes but a time I had somebody call me back and explained my situation the lady told me that my order was already in for filament so my order couldn't be canceled. I spoke to the supervisor and she told me that my order wasn't able to be canceled because it was in fulfillment but I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes to speak to somebody in regards to canceling an order just for them to tell me they can't cancel it because in that 30 minutes it was already sent to fulfillment. I think this is a little ridiculous I think there should be a way to cancel an order online instead of calling calling doesn't help because it's such a long wait times. To make matters worse I won't be able to get my shipping cost refunded due to a mistake.. I definitely won't be shopping any more at your store!
I had the same thing happened to me. I accidentally press the button that submitted the things i had on my cart and I immediately called the customer service number. Mind you I was on hold only for at least 5 or 7 mins. When I finally got someone. I told them that I had accidentally made an order i didn't mean to. She told me that she couldn't cancel it because it was already sent to processing. She proceeded to tell me that it only takes 3 minutes for an order to process. I told her that it was ridiculous and that I was on hold for at least 5 or 7 minutes. She then told me that I had the option to return the item when I get it which is so stupid because I've never heard such a thing that they can't cancel an order after being place for less that 5 minutes. Yeah I won't be ordering online anymore. Their customer service online are horrible.
salon services at wilmington, nc
I would like a press and curl for $45.00. I was told by Rosa that I had to pay her an extra $15.00 for additional deep conditioner in order for her to do the service. The bill would be $60.00. I was also asked to sign a paper that my hair was damaged before she would begin the service. The store manager wrote up the contract.
I am low-income person. I cannot afford the extra $15.00 dollars. I of course, did not sign the contract. I did not believe in paying an extra $15.00 for something I could not afford. Have a nice day and run your business honestly and without usuary.
This occurred August 16, 2017 at approximately 10:15 am. at Independence Mall JCPenney.

waste of time
I don't recommend you to shop with them because their customer service is terrible as well as their website. I have been trying to order several items from them for about 4 days, every time I pay for this but the transaction is always failed. I tried to call them, but after several rude answers from them, this idea has abandoned my head.
Thanks JCPenny for a "wonderful" experience and unforgettable hours spent for nothing.
jcpenney ruined my credit
I missed just one payment and they blocked my credit. I called a corporate and she didn't sound like she cared. I usually pay through the website and their system is often down, so sometimes payments are late, it takes them some time to come out. I never refused to pay, but they don't want to listen to me. I would never go shopping knowing that my card doesn't work.
