Customer service representative Monica (in men department) didn't want to go to the back of the store and get a size Levi jeans that was on sale. We had to look for another representative to go in the back and get 1 or the 2 pair of Levi that the computer said JCPenny had in inventory. Why come to work If your not going TO WORK

I been working for this company for about 4 years the first year I had to file a report against a supervisor for sexual harassment. When the supervisor got "let go" my nightmare started. Someone from management cleared my whole schedule I had no hours. I talked with the assistant manager and indeed he knew who was doing and told me that if it ever happened to come talk to him. That person did it again I talked to the assistant manger and know he gave me an answer saying that "I wasn't working good" the person that was doing that was my supervisor. She asked for a transfer after she left work was peaceful until someone from management again said something about the report I made a year before and now the whole store is talking about it some people know exactly what happened and the other half think they know. I found myself gain in their office this time he didn't do anything the assistant manager got the names down, but never bother to talk to that associate keep in mind that when I talked to the store manager about the harassment report he said it was confidential it was going to stay between him the assistant manager and I. That associate kept talking which lead me to go talk to them myself it got to that point that I had to the job for them. That associate has a relative that works in the same and that is very close to someone from management which is why I believe they never did anything about my situation. Now a month ago another associate was trying to find out what my sexual orientation is and about the report I made sure I talked to someone again and I got the same response nothing I had to talked to the associate myself she talked talking but, just yesterday I was walking towards a table and I notice that associate standing with an outside of work friend I notice the associate telling her friend its me her friend walks towards me gets in my personal space I could smell the alcohol in her she tries to make a scene I tell her I know that the associate sent here to come bother me she looks at my name and tells me "now I know who you are" she got to closed to me I thought she was going to hit me specially if she was intoxicated. I turned and walked away. AGAIN I found myself in the office. Why do they have to wait to solve a problem until I feel threaten. This store has so much problems. Even one of the supervisors told me she was proud that I made the report that they all knew what he would do to his workers but no one wanted to say anything. They said they don't take retaliation but they all did it to me. I once saw this job as my getaway from personal problems now I leave my personal problems out to come and deal with everyone there. I have witness supervisors humiliating associates. I have tried to find another job but its hard to find something that goes with my school schedule. I hate my job!

Back in the 70s I worked as a high school teenager in the men's department for JCP. There was a gentlemen who worked in the suit department inside the mens department. He constantly pinched my bum. I asked him over and over to stop. But he never did. He pinched other girls as well. While shopping in the store one day with my little sister, he pinched my bottom in front of her. My sister went home and told my dad. My dad ordered me to report what was happening to the HR department. I did. The man was fired. He tried to sue JCP. He dropped the lawsuit when I agreed to testify. The manager of men's didn't like me after that. He had me transferred to the children's dept. after yelling at me in front of customers for not handing out enough credit card applications. Then 2 weeks later, coincidently I received an award for the most credit card applicants for the entire store. The children's dept. manager gave me a raise and told me his sales were always higher on my work shifts. Another employee in the hardware dept. made lewd comments to me as well, but I did not report him. At the time I was shy and innocent. I didn't fully understand men or what happened.
poor service
A person who is the first customer of the day should NOT have to wait 1 1/2 hours after their eye exam to get help in ordering glasses. Boise, Idaho's JcPenney Optical business better get on the right track, or lose customers. Apparently they have not trained their employees that this is not acceptable. You pay a pretty penny for the glasses, and I find this to be unacceptable business practices. I do not suggest you waste your money here. Find an optical center that is for real, this is a joke. I think Wal Mart even has them beat, wow!
no shopping cart
Our newly remodeled JCPenney is huge and beautiful but impossible to shop in! The aisles are very wide but they have no
shopping carts. I recently purchased a blender and some sheets. Had to carry them, along with my purse. I would have loved
to shop more, but couldn't carry everything ! They have some kind of "drag behind you" cart, but that doesn't give you anything to
hold on to for support. I am retired and have time and money, but will stop going to JCP until they get carts. If they are worried
about people taking them into the mall or outside, put one of those "beepers" on the cart.
I went to a JCP store - no carts. Bought what I could hold and drove to Kohls for the rest of my shopping needs. Though JCP had the merchandise, I did not bring my carrier mule. Last time I go to JCP for "shopping". I do not need a cart for my physical "support". I needed a cart to help me in spending money at JCP. Apparently, they are not interested. JCP should read the writing on the wall - called Amazon - free delivery and easy returns. They give you a virtual shopping cart in which to "hold your items in" before check-out!
wronful termination
I started working at JC Penney on 5/13/2014 to 6/13/2014 and I was let go last Friday basically for taking the bus and not able to do what the Manager Vince wanted, I felt very discriminated against my race and because I have a son. He call me to the office and very rudely told me he never would have hired he knew I could open and close, but I was doing both so I had no idea what he was talking about. Earlier that morning an employee that was there for 20 years quit without warning. That was no reason to yell at me and being so rude and condescending. A lot of people take the bus to work and work either morning, middle or closing shift, he was just nor willing to cooperate with me., He did not even care that I have a son and I was unemployed for over a year before I was hired. I also found out that 5 people that got hired with me they offered them 8.75 and they offered me 8.50, when I have extensive retail experience and I am also Bilingual fluent in both English and Spanish. H e claims he was never inform that I took the bus and I told Denise the HR lady who was also knew at her job, she used to worked at a JC Penney up North and she mentioned they do everything different back there and she was also learning with us in the process of training people. Due to there was no AIR CONDITINIONING DURING THE WEEKEND 6/6/14 and 6/7/14 I have to go the the ER because I have severe allergies also.

supervisor not fit for the position
This complain concerns to sharon genna - home supervisor. The company don't need a supervisor like sharon genna. She don't know her job. She ask her subordinate to do her job. She is a very lazy supervisor. She harassed everybody to do some jobs they not supposed too. She is a racist too. She shops while on the clock. Corporate should really investigate deeper about sharon genna because the company don't need a supervisor like her that don't know her job. She already have record from previous employee who complain also of harassment in the job. Please act upon her as soon as possible. It seems jcpenney also don't train supervisor really good specially talking and managing people. Most supervisors in store 0562 are really rude to the employees. Everybody knows that the company is not doing good right now but that doesn't mean they will not train those people they give a position. This will just make jc penney the worst company to work with. Attention mr. Mike ullman! You need a good management to be able to have a good employee that can give an excellent customer service to customers.

not being credited for purchases
I have ordered several times on JCP. But, have not gotten Ebates credit. It happens quite often and even when it's correct and goes through, the check payment does not reflect the correct percentage at the time of purchase. If you don't write it down at time of purchase, the percentage is different, if you get it at all. So far I have not received credit from Orvis, Macys, and JCP. Some times when you click on the tool bar and cash back is activated, once you get to the end, and complete purchase, you'd notice that you where no longer in an activated state, and don't get credit.

This store is bad so many issues. Were do I begin. Iv worked at this store for many years when I started jcpenneys it was a great place to work every one was respectful yes this store had it issues but our old assistant manager Wanda would get right on it and make sure things were good. Our new guy Paul sucks he calls associates stupid he disrespectful he plays favoritism big time its so wrong and bad when EVERYONE in the store sees it he promotes his favs and let me tell you there dumb like stupid blond

Made the job but didn't get paid
I received email from the company JC Penny Gift Wrapping, and they offered me a position in their company. I needed to wrap gifts and send them to the recipients. They promised to pay after I sent all packages, also they promised to provide the gift card. After I made the job, I contacted this company and told them to pay, because the job was done. They asked me to wait, and within 5 days they would transfer money. Nothing happened. I wonder if someone had the same situation and can offer good solution. Thanks.
credit card fraud
I bought an item with a JCPenney credit card. Even though I paid in plenty of time, I was charged a $25.00 late fee. I have read on the internet that many people are being charged fraudulent late fees. I wrote a letter within 60 days about the error, but the letter was ignored. I tried to call, but no live person answers the phone. I of course canceled my account immediately.
Right before filing a complaint with the federal government, I managed to get through to Amy in Fraud Protection Department, who said she would forward me to someone else. I then spoke to Macy, who says the automated phone system only works if the customer says "agent" or "representative." She said that there are no instructions to say this on the statement on in the recording, so that any customer not guessing this would not be able to contact JCPenney. The lack of response by JCPenney makes it pretty much impossible for someone to report or do anything about fraudulent charges on their bill.

worst customer service
Scheduled a portrait session for my daughter. Arrived and was advised that we were not entered in the computer (despite e-mail confirmation).
Sales associate and photographer were beyond rude and unaccommodating in every way! They literally complained on how they were over worked, hungry, and tired! Eventually told to return in 15 minutes, and pictures would be taken. Waited over an hour as others who came after were taken in.
Complained to the store managers, but little was done, as the studio is a separate company. Finally told, they could not take her pictures after all that time and hassle! Will never return there for pictures! Worst customer service experience of a lifetime!
Do not recommend to anyone!
At the end, I had to self schedule a new appointment at another store 45 minutes away just to get pictures taken. Thankfully, this store had much better staff! 7a0128

All The store managers are incompetent and rude to minority customers. JC penney continues to lose many customers annually! And suffer frequent lawsuits by employees and customers; due to Job discrimination and overcharging or stealing money from customers! This JC Penney store has been robbed numerous times, by former female employees, who where angry against the managers for mistreating them, and wrongful job terminations! Don't shop at this or any JC Penney store, because their quality of customer service, and how they treat their own employees consistently gets worse over time!

I bought Glasses from them and within 2 weeks had to have lenses replaced because of scratches. The glasses are suppose to be scratch resistant. Now I need the lenses replaced again because of scratches. The lenses are supposed to be the Ultra Lens (Polycarbonate - Lighter and thinner, Includes 100% UV protection and scratch coat), also have Teflon clear coat (anti-glare). I clean the glasses using the microfiber cloth provided and the way I was told by the sales clerk, yet they still scratch. If all this is supposed to be on the glasses why are they scratching. I wonder if there is anything at all on them and wish to find someone who could tell me. And second get JC Penney to replace them with the proper lenses. I understand mistakes can be made, but own up to them and don't make me pay for your mistake, and correct it at no cost.

I was hired into Sephora inside JCPenney back in October 2012 as a Holiday hire. I was told whoever performed the best would be kept permanant and would get the full time position which included better pay and benefits. Having no prior experience in cosmetics i was thrown into a fast paced environment that was under alot of pressure to meet a certain quota. JC Penney was supposed to train us before throwing us on the floor doing peoples make up and selling them skin care products which could potentially harm a clients skin when misinformed. luckily i did alot of research at home and was able to keep up. After the holidays they kept me but my pay stayed the same and i was still denied benefits. All of us would complain about lack of structure and training and that it was affecting our sales. Nobody would listen. Because our store was low in the district for Beauty Insiders (rewards card for Sephora) with purchases, three of our team members were fired for low numbers. So going under the immediate direction and threat of the store manager we were told to ask declining customers permission to add points to another customers card. which they never complained about. Our numbers went up and we bonused. On May 16, 2013, one by one my fellow associates started to dissapear. Around the end of my shift i was called to come up to the store managers office. When i walked in the room i was told to take a seat across from a man who had a very intimidating and aggressive stature. some other team member from the stock room was in the corner of the room and a loss prevention staff member was standing up against the door with his hand on the door knob. the man across from me named Vick started by introducing himself and that he was district leader for loss Prevention. He then preceeded to go into the definintion of integrity and how important it is for employees in jc penney to have this integrity. Then he started accusing me of having no morals, common sense, or integrity. He asked me why i was giving declining customers points away and i calmly explained to him that we were given permission by the clients and we were directed to do so and that we had previously been counseled for not doing it and having declines. At this point he is calling me stupid and that only an idiot with no common sense can screw up a job as easy as sitting around looking pretty doing makeup. Once again I told him i did it because i was instructed to do so and i was never aware that it was against policy. He kept calling me names and comparing it to taking money out of a register even though these points had no monetary value. At this point he wouldnt let me leave and said if i wanted to keep my job i needed to sign a statement admitting i added points to other clients points and that i understand its wrong. he said if i did this I could keep my job. After i signed these papers i left the room and was told i was being fired and they couldnt pay me till next week so i was on Administrative leave. Also in the waiting room were the other girls before me. All crying, all in shock, all interrogated and forced to sign that paper, all fired. When I finally was able to get my pay the termination papers stated i was being terminated for something completely different which i never did and never admitted to doing. I asked for copies of my termination papers, my statements, and my pay check stub. They refuse to give me any of this so I will lose my medical for my two year old my calworks and county benefits. Because of what they put on the termination papers I will not be able to apply for UnEmployment either. I dont know what i did to deserve this. Never have i been treated so poorly especially after all my hard work and amazing customer feedback. I am in such a state of shock and violation because of this my doctor had to prescribe me anti anxiety medication to help me stay calm. All i want is my life back. Any advice what to do. Its not fair the little people have to suffer for the greedy faults of the store managers.

The JC Penney in Augusta Georgia (Augusta Mall) is THE WORST, incompetent female store managers (some of them are racists), they are frequently robbed, by former female employees, they actively mistreat & discriminate against male employees- who are better and more qualified to work in retail sales, and they continue to enforce job discrimination! received wrong item not once but TWICE!
Ordered a sheet set from jcp.com and received green curtains. Had to return and reorder and then received a pink bath rug! Returned the second wrong item and was told the sheets would be reordered for a 3rd time with free one day shipping. Sheets never showed, so I called and the 3rd order hadn't even been placed! Needless to say I did not reorder and I took my business elsewhere. What a joke! They lost a loyal customer. Loving Kohl's a lot more!

I've worked for jcp for months, almost close to a year. good sales specialist, got 1-2 icaps weekly, kind to customers, hard worker, (depends who i work with i usually do most of the work..registers, put clothes back, straighten, spacing the racks!, fitting rooms, etc. while my coworkers just stood there and talk crap about every customer and the managers, esp the coworkers). i asked off for a family emergency sat-mon because my grandpa is extremely ill. and they declined it. i didn't show up to work because it was a family emergency. and they knew about it! i come home from out of town and find out they fired me. and found other people to cover my shifts. just like that. i couldn't call in because in my culture it's very disrespectful towards my family using technology like phones, cameras, ipods, laptops, etc. because it was spending as much time w/ my grandpa before he passes away. jcp store #2062, worst place to work. i have job experience and get paid $7.25 while my friends who go to school with me, in the same grade get $7.75-8 with no job experience and do absolutely nothing at work. in my interview they told me i'd get 7.75 as well, i said something to them and they said they'd change it but i guess they never listened! the managers there always sided with the ones who work there the longest, which is ironic, because there the ones who talk crap about them and are lazy. me, being pregnant and a full time high school student they expect me to work everyday, 4-5.5 hours and usually 8 hours each day on the weekends. and they expect me to close by myself. meaning straighten clothes, keep an eye on registers, put carts of clothes away with my nausea and dizziness. good prices on clothes but the worst place to work ever!

Don't ever buy jcp gift cards. If you accidently destroy them, your out of luck.
I had 3 - $100 gift cards. I accidently shredded them. I had the numbers and the pins. I asked for replacement cards. They take the info, cancel the numbers and the pins. Then they say they won't replace the cards. Well with the numbers and the pins. I could use them for on-line shopping. So they won't replace the cards and deleted my numbers and pins. So now I have nothing and they were christmas gifts to boot. Called them on several occasions, even got a local tv station involved. They say the will return a call in 48hrs and you never never hear from them. I am taking this to the bbb and the ohio attorney general office. Jcp is basically cheating me out of my money. The cards were bought form a 3rd party, but each number had shown on-line valued at $100 each until they deleted the numbers/pins from there system

Did you have the reciepts for the gift cards? My store could and has replaced gift cards with the receipt.
Ah, get over it. No loss. I got a $75 JCP gift card for my retirement and I honestly couldn't find $75 of merchandise in that whole store that I wanted. They've become purveyors of third world uselss low quality junk.
mattress warranty
In april of 2011 I bought a mattress set online for a reasonable price, service was good everything was delivered on time no problems. In september of of 2012 the mattress broke (A internal spring is sticking out of the corner) after they sent a tech out to confirm the mattress was broken, I never heard anything and had to begin chasing down people in order to get answers. Due to the downturn I was forced to file a bk. Now because of this they will not warranty this item that has a ten year warranty on it. I have been round and round with this company on to now hear that it's under corporate review which is what I have been hearing for the last month. This company prides itself on their customer service and refunding the customer at any expense unless it's a mattress set! (By the way I was told in the beginning of all this mess that I would have to purchase a new set in order to receive a refund on this set) never will I purchase anything from this co again!
