scam and cheating
On july 11, 2008 I applied for a chase private student loan and was approved. I faxed them all my documents (Proof id, proof of enrollment, and loans docs) by monday, july 14. I thought all was fine until eight business days later when they told me my drivers license was unclear and I would have to refax it again.
I refaxed my license and it took them yet another eight business days to receive the copy and to tell me it was unclear. I offer going to a local chase branch and submitting it that way, only to be scoffed at and told that was absolutely impossible. Not to mention every time I called I was on hold for no less than 1 hour only to speak with less than nice customer service.
Anyways, fast forward to sunday august 23, 2008, merely days before I move in to college. I call chase, on hold for only 40 minutes this time, to find out when my check would be mailed out. I spoke with a rather kind man who informed me the loan was in dispersal status and the check had been printed, enveloped, stamped, and would be in monday's mail via usps.
So the waiting game then began, thursday came, I moved in to school. Then labor day and the beginning of september still with no check. I gave them the benefit of the doubt (Slow mail/holiday weekend etc...). I again tried calling but I just didn't have half a day to clear out in my schedule to hold for chase bank.
Friday september 5th was my breaking point. I called chase to check the status of my loan check, only to be told that my loan was canceled by my cosigner... Hmmm wait a minute... I don't have a cosigner. A few minutes of a very upset me trying to keep my cool the woman whom I was speaking with discovered that my loan had accidentally been canceled by the person whom I spoke with on august 23rd. 50/50 shot I would be able to get it reinstated. Yup, 50/50 to quote the supervisor I ripped a new * "if you had realized our error two or three days after it happened we would be able to fix it"
After about a week of constant blunt phone calls to the incompetent buffons at chase, several calls pleading to the office of student accounts begging to extend the tuition deadline, the great people at the new jersey banking commission and the new jersey department of consumer affairs helped straighten everything out in a weeks time.
Chase left me in a hopeless state, canceling my loan by mistake and clearly not wanting to fix it. They have no accountability and simply did not care. To them I was nothing more than another poor 18 year old kid without parents that can pay for college in need of a loan. They pushed me around, they were rude, they didn't want to work to fix their error that nearly cost me an entire year of college.
Do not go through chase. They simply don't give a rat's * about you and won't want to help you. Their ungodly slow and completely incompetent when it comes to anything that may take a few seconds of thinking.

customer cheat
I would like to find an attorney that would be willing to file a class action lawsuit against chase bank and other banks with the same practices. Chase likes to find ways to change the way credits, debits and checks come through the system so that they can charge you nsf fees and make more money. They deny it and state what their practices are but yet from different telephone bankers you get a different story... Anyone game?

This company continues to exercise poorly. The above stories are identical to my situation. I as told that my transactions were not posted and the overdraft was due to items that were not posted. However my balance reflected the amounts that I was spending via my debit card. In addition my Quikpay was on hold and they want to use the amount for the overdraft. My entire "view activity" was changed to justify Chases "stealing" or tampering with my balances. If this is still an ongoing complaint please contact me via: trials27@yahoo.com
I so agree the same thing happened to me and my husband..and when i called customer service I spoke to someone NOT in AMERICA...wtf? I could barely understand them first of all and when I asked for the policy that states these policies they said they would mail me them, and I asked for them to read to me EXACTLY what it said and they couldnt I got transferred to "manager" who then said she could refund me one of the nsf fees they charged however the was nothing compared to the other 3 they charged illegally...after our direct deposit goes this week we are closing our account! thats it thats all!
My son has had the same problem. Even to the extent that they held a debt 2 weeks and then when it was going to overdraw him they put it through and caused a cascade affect making him 180.00 overdrawn. They have repeatedly taken out od fees to cause his account to go into the neg . For intance..he had $25.00 in his account, he did a debt for 20.00 they took out the overdraft fee and then put the debt through so he was od 14.00. Is there something being set up about this he just got hijacked today for 115.00 bucks now too. My e-mail is tawandatns1@yahoo.com. Please e-mail me and lets get these guys!
It was not pay at the pump.
I want to join a lawsuit! I just got home from my Chase branch to report an overdraft fee that they put on my account. I'm a student (4.0 GPA) and fine artist, so majority of the time I am very, very tightly budgeted. As a result, I told them that I did not want to be permited to overdraft my account. There are two businesses in the last two months that if the money was not in there, my card was declined there and I'm sure they would remember those incidents. Suddenly they allowed my card to go through at an Exxon and I have an overdraft fee. I explained how this has not happened before, my card will get declined and there has not been any overdraft's on my account until now. They didn't care at all, they showed me a form that I signed, "yes" last July for allowing my card to go through. If that was the case, how come my card has been declined up until now? They were not nice, not caring, did not remove the overdraft and didn't care that I was frustrated and confused over all this. I want to prove, and can, that they have contradictory methods regarding my account.
If anyone knows of a good class action lawsuit atty. can anyone let me know. The are starting to raise my mortgage payment by saying that my escrow account is short. my interest rate and insurance have not goneup...so My email is v40th@hotmail.com Thx
Since I have been locked out of my account for absolutely fraudulent reason by Chase, this is the only way to contact this company. I will soon be closing my account with company and will start legal action due their unlawful actions.
First it took them over six months to close an account that I asked them to do, the just closed it recently when I had to go to the bank becaue they locked me out of my account and I could not use my card, because they closed the card without notifying me, I spoke several customer service people and recieved different answers, I had to wait 3 days to recieve a new card, which interfered with lively hood. Now I am locked out of online acces, the customer service people tell its for overdraft, but the site says it is accessive log in. I do not have time to go up to the bank to get this straighen pout and now there are unknown charges to my account and I have no way of finding out what these charges are because I am locked out. I will be closing all account that I The customer service people have no clue what they are doing, all of their notes are different from the other. Chase practices is unlawful adn I plan talking legal action if my issue is resolved as soon as possble. I want a call and an email from Chase letting me know what has been charged from my account. I want all overdraft fees refunded since I am unable to verify purchases, due to Chase locking me out of my online accounts. The only way I know there been charges is due to mobile alerts! This is uncalled for and I extremely disappointed at Chase practices and the company treats their customers. Well, this company has just lost a customer.
Long story but here goes... My husband I have a joint checking & individual checking accnts & we always transfer money between accts. Our savings are with ING so no overdraft protection w/Chase since they don't do over draft protection from Checking to Checking acct. (which by the way even with that they charge $10 per transaction).
I knew I was going to be $15 short in my personal checking accnt so I transferred the money from our joint. I have been transferring between accts for the last 3-4yrs now & never had a problem but now Chase has decided that the cut of time for transfers is 8pm Pacific time 11pm Eastern & no transfers on weekends (when before it was all 11pm no matter where you were M-Sa) Lucky for us in the west coast! So my transfer did not go through because I made it at 8:30p (even though it was transferring money within the same freakin bank). But that's not the worst part, then they took all the big purchases and ran them first and kept the 3 smallest until the end so I did not just overdraw my acct 1x but 3x so now they are charging me $99 for $12 worth of spending which I had already made a transfer in order to cover!
I made two transactions in 1 store. One right after another. 1 for $5 and then 1 for $55 (Same store, same time). they credited the $55 then a bunch of other larger transactions and kept the $5 until the very end with the other 2 small transactions for $3 & $6.
THIEVES! I never had a problem with WAMU!
I could understand when you don't have the money and you should balance your check book and all that, but when the money is there (IN THEIR OWN BANK!) and you transfer how can they put a hold on that, that is just crazy!
I called and spoke with 4 people that gave me 4 different stories, the 1st person said I needed to talk to an online specialist to see when the transaction should have posted, then the online specialist said I was right and that the transaction should have posted and that I should get a credit because the transaction was done before 11pm which is the cut off, but she couldn't do the credit so she had to transfer me to the person that would give me the credit, then he said he couldn't give it to me and gave me totally different info saying that the cut off is 11pm Eastern time only, therefore my transfer was late. Then transferred me to a Supervisor (Lacronya Alexander) who was useless and gave me totally different info than the first 3, she said that the cut off is 8pm no matter where you are!
So am I right, wrong, is the cut off 11p for everyone, 11p Eastern or 8p for everyone. I bet if I call right now I get another totally different answer.
And if they work there and don't know when the cut off really is how do they expect me to know!
Just ridiculous, no shame! I'm in for a lawsuit contact me at: yescar@sbcglobal.net
Thank you for your submissions. I thought I was going crazy. My account was fine late yesterday. I woke up to $150 in late fees. My account was completely rearranged so that all my previous little charges would be sure and have a overdraft fee. UNBELIEVABLE! Will someone PLEASE FIND A LAWYER WHO IS FOR THE PEOPLE! CHASE BANK IS CRIMINAL! The same thing happened to my daughter. She had even printed out her account (which was fine) the day before she was slapped with $200 in late fees. PLEASE GET THE CLASS ACTION SUIT GOING. We were sucked in by their $100 offer of opening an account. No one is aware of their practices until it's too late. Why doesn't the govenment step up to the plate and help?

liars
So my fiance and I fell 45 days behind on our car payment. The gentleman at the local office made arrangements with us and we were able to stop the repo. We let him know our next payments would be Sept 16 and Sept 23 due to the prev checks going towards rent. He said that would be okay, we just had to stick to it. These people love calling your references. They have called my mom, who has nothing to do with my finances, stating they could not reach us. They never call me. And my fiance is at work all day, he can't answer the phone. Today they called my fiance's dad, stating they needed to speak to us or our attorney? Excuse me? 1. We made arrangements. 2. Our payment is only 3 days past due. 3. Shouldn't you call US BEFORE YOU CALL OUR FAMILY!? I can't stand these people. They are the worst creditor I have EVER had to deal with.
I have to second that. They are a total PITA. I'm sorry, but I send my check 10 days in advance of the pymt date to be sure it gets there and then they don't cash it for days. WTH is up w/that? We will be re-financing our loan on the 1 year anniversary date of the loan, I can guarantee you that!
poor customer service
I am a case manager who works with the disabled. My client is receiving disability, which is to be deposited in his account at Chase Manhattan. Social Security issued the check to my client's account, but it is not showing up in his account. We attempted to get help from customer service. They were very unfriendly, and definitely not helpful. They actually ended up hanging up on us, despite the fact that we were very police and courteous. My client now has no money to pay his bills for the month, and we are getting no help from the bank at all. I personally would never consider utilizing this bank because of my poor experiences with them.

Received two money orders for a treadmill i sold to sandra from craigslist. I was told to deposit the checks and then withdrawal the money to wire transfer the money to the moving company who will be picking up the treadmill. I decided to ask my bank if i could cash the money orders instead and the teller told me yes until she noticed that the watermark was not accurate. I contacted chase directly to very the routing number and it was indeed invalid! Please verify all money orders or checks before cashing or depositing!
fraudulent loans - miscalculation of interest by 1000's $
Here is the direct line to Chase General Council - These people are inhuman ###! Boycott Chase! They ripped me off for 1000's. I had to hire and attorney, then they beat him down with threats.

Chase was so horrible that when I lost my job and they offered me one at a high rate of pay I told my wife I would not be able to sleep at night working for a company like that.
In addition to the many other poor encounters, including the 3 business acounts and two personal accounts we had. I asked for an extension on my auto payments, mind you I had never been late in two years and I asked because I lost my job and was seeking a new one. They denied me said unemployment is not temporary. My wife called back a few days later and asked for the extension on her behalf as the primary and having just started working as a professor at the University. Needless to say it took 5 minutes before the customer rep called her a lier! This was after she provided her work, phone, position etc. When they finished they said they call us back and let us know about the extension, my wife looked at me and said I rather die of hunger then have you work for Chase. Needless to say they didn't ever call us back and then when I called Chase Auto I requested the info they said they didn't have it, I gave them the info along with name and info for my new employment because I now have a job making 10k more then I did previously and their stuborn lazy CHase representatives denied me again and the lady was practically laughing that they would take my car. I have auto loans with a credit union and Ford, both of then granted my request no issue, Chase and Chase Auto are terrible avoid them like the swine flu.
I too would like to add my two cents about Chase! They have the worst customer services I have ever spoke to.
I have been affected by the economic (Job loss), granted prior to my loss I had paided on time for the last three years on my car loan. But now that I'm unable to pay on time or a day late they (customer services) has made my life a living hell. I need to keep my car so that I'm able to find work, but I just regret the day I accepted financing through Chase auto. I think if every customer that has a auto loan through the company would make them feel the effect of the economic their attitude would change fast.
If you read your contract it explains the way interest is calculate. Most finance companies use simple interest these days. Here is the short version.
The interest is not booked as part of the loan balance. It's the principal only. The interest is calculated based on the daily balance, interest rate, and how many days there are between when 1 payment posts to the next payment posting. (not due date).
So if your daily interest is 10.00 per day (just using round numbers), and you make your pymnts 30 days apart, you will pay 30 days of interest =300.00. The rest of the payment you made will go to principal. If there was 35 days between the last 2 payments, you will pay 35 days of interest = 350.00, and the rest will go to principal. The daily interest will go down as your balance goes down. The only way to pay exactly the interst on the contract is to make each payment EXACTLY 30 days apart. Keep in mind some months have 30 days, 31 days, and 1 with 28 days. All of these is written on your contract (probably the back that no one reads) in legalese.
Hope that helps
I am in the same situation as you. I ended up having the car repo'd. or be stuck for another 5yrs. these people are thieves. I plan to report them to BBB and consumer services. I also plan to hire a lawyer. These people need to be stopped!
I have a truck financed with Chase Auto Finance they dont wont to work with you, the interest is not calculated the way you or i would it is compounded daily thta is what i was told today as i was trying to get help so i would not fall behind on my payments. What does it meaninterest is compounded daily who really understands that do they use different calculators than we do they bet me out of over $4800.oo in interest i am paying almost 100% interest on my truck The amount financed for my truck was $ 10, 275.00 when i purchased it. i have already paid $ 11, 063.32 and I still owe $ 6, 404.48 A Chase agent told me today my interest rate is 23.25% and its compounded daily so i thought the interest was $ 2, 389.00 and today i find out its really $ 7, 192.80 and i am the co-signer my daughter has became disabled and cant work she has no income till she gets disablity now i have to pay for this truck or ruin my credit so what choice do i have she said you can refinance im really wondering how that would help us at this point Chase is not a good company, Chase bets people out of money
student loan bait and switch
My son's college stopped using sallie mae and went to usingcitibank and chase bank (jp morgan chase) for all their student and parent plus loans. our college financial aid admin. told us that he didn't qualify for any financial aid (free help). she also told us that he didn't qualify for any loans that he could take out himself even with a co-signer. the financial aid admin. said that she had tried for approval through citibank but got a denial. that was no surprise. my income to debt ratio is off right now because of needing two additional cars for two college son's. not to mention paying half the rent for an apartment while my son's go to college. I informed the fin. aid admin. that there was no way that I could make any payments on any loans right now. I also informed her it would be at least 6 to 8 months before anything would be paid off to even make it a possibility. she than told me about this special parent plus loan program that our government had set up to help those parents with college age children be able to send their child to college and defer the loan payments until after their child graduated college. this sounded a little to good to be true so our financial aid admin. gave me the toll free number to call chase and get more info. about this particular type of loan. once on the phone with a customer service representative, I asked her to explain how they could even consider approving someone for a loan when their income to debt ratio wasn't good. her reply was that their parent plus loans aren't based on the persons ability to repay the loan. I couldn't beleive what I had just heard. I told her that that was crazy for anyone to make a loan that way. I asked her specific questions pretaining to this particular parent plus loan with deferred payments inwhich our government had set up to help parents pay for their kids college education. when I asked her what the catch was for qualifying for this loan, her reply was, "no catch, this is a loan that everyone can get because the government has set these loans up to help parents with their kids college education because of the bad economic times." I asked her how the deferred payments worked and she stated that no payments would be scheduled until after my son graduated college. I asked about the interest rates on this loan thinking that they would be higher than a normal loan and her reply was 8.5% fixed during the life of the loan. I asked her what the normal time frame was for repaying the loan once my son graduated and her answer to this question was 5 to 10 years depending on the amount of the loan. I asked alot of question about this parent plus loan with deferred payments because I felt like something just wasn't right. after discussing this particular loan at legenth with this rep., I asked her to mail me the forms for this loan. after a week, I never received the forms so I called again and went through all the question again and got the same answers from a second chase customer serv. rep. this time, I requested the forms for this same parent plus loan with deferred payments to be faxed to me. once they finished printing off, I started reading them and found no mention of deferred loan payments for parent plus loans or any particular qualification rules/requirements.in turn, I called teri the college financial aid admin. and asked her if chase had provided them with any forms or other info. on these deferred payment loans and she said that it was the same as what I got. teri said that she would call chase and make sure that the forms were the right ones. as teri called chase, I called them myself once again. again we went through all the questions and included the questions about the form that I had gotten faxed to me eariler. making sure that I had the right form for the right loan before filling anything out. as I got off the phone with chase's customer serv. rep., teri called me back telling me that I had the right form. she said that the customer service rep. told her that the form I had was the right one and it was being used because they didn't have any special form for the parent plus loan with deferred payments because the government just opened up these loans for parents. this sounded right because I was told the same thing by another customer serv. rep. a day or two later, I went to the mail box an found that the forms inwhich were mailed to me had been delivered by the usps. teri and I didcussed this loan again prior to me filling out the form because I just didn't feel good about the forms they sent me. teri knew my reservations but stated that "their a lending institution and that a bank wouldn't do anything like what you are worried about." against my better judgement, I completed the form and mailed it back to chase with a letter specifically stating what loan I was applying for. chase disburssed the money to the college in the last part of june. around the latter part of july, I receive a payment boot with my first payment due aug.21. imagine my surprise. I called the college financial aid admin. and informed her of what I had gotten in the mail. she agreed with me, there should have been no payment book because of the deferred payments connected to the loan that I applied for. she suggested that I call chase so I did. it is then that I found out that to qualify for the parent plus loan with deferred payments, your money had to be dispurssed after july 1, and at least one parent had to be enrolled in school no less then part time. surprise! I got no notification that I didn't qualify for the loan with deferred payments and I wasn't given the option to turn down the standard parent plus loan (which I would have done). chase automatically switched my application from one particular parent plus loan with deferred payments to the standard parent plus loan without confirmation from me as to my acceptance of this switch. I think the law calls this procedure "bait and switch". they baited me by not disclosing the qualifications for the deferred payments loan and misrepresenting the forms inwhich they sent me even when specifically asked about them. they switched me to another loan without my approval and no notification of their act until a month after they had disbursed the payment to the college. this is a huge warning folks. stay away from jp morgan chase bank and any of their subsidiaries. it is my understanding that I wasn't the only one at this college who fell for this hook, line and sinker. I ask that if any of you have experienced this same bait and switch through jp morgan chase bank, please file a formal written complaint with the office of the comptroller of the currency, 1301 mckinney street, suite 3450, houston, tx 77010 ph. [protected]. lets be heard. college is expensive enough without banks taking advantage of parents who desire a college education for their children.
Chase does do a bait and switch. They also process loans without an agreement. One year I had the school send the funds back and told Chase I would not be doing business with them for my daughter's education. I was already upset with them. It took almost a full term with the schools help, to get Chase to acknowledge the returned funds. The next year they sent funds without a loan agreement. I only found out when Sallie Mae told me that their funds were returned. It was too late to stop the funds. I called Chase and demanded I be sent the loan agreement that permitted them to issue funds. They sent me a complete file on another family with personal information and ID, from the 1980's. They have never sent me any documentation but they sent me payment books, they are denying any payments were made. I am amazed that no criminal charges have been filed against them, and that we have so little recourse unless we file a lawsuit against them. Please do not use Chase bank. The school decided the next year to do their own financing because so many funding problems.
Chase student loans is horrible, they were dishonest with me about every step of the student loan process, and they call 6 times each day, even up to 8 oclock at night on Sundays, for as little as 30 dollars under payment. They will not work with you or give you any options, and when I spoke with a representative she literally told me I better "go get a job at McDonald's" to re-pay them. I have never had someone speak with me so rude, and even when my payments are on time they call and ask would i like to pay early, or am i available to increase the amount of my monthly payments. I wish I never ever chose them to do a loan with. They are truly harrassers, in every sense of the word. They charge youa $3 dollar fee to pay on the phone, and encourage you to pay through their website yet everytime I make a payment throught the website i get a call saying i have not paid. Then i have to go through the hassle of finding my confirmation e-mail, and then they just say "oh we're sorry."
Chase did me the same way upon graduation. All other student loan companies agreed to work with me where Chase down right refused! They then stated, make one payment then I could get the forbearance. Well, I made the payment (after borrowing from various people) only to be denied the forberance. I was then told I would have to make 12 payments in a row to be eligable for a forbearance. I was then harrassed by staff members. I wish I had never done business with this company! I was still paying what I could via my account on-line but now my account have been closed out and I am no longer getting anything in the mail. They are trying to make it where I can't pay anything.
I have also been screwed over by my college and CHASE. After 4 semesters of college my college no longer accepted CHASE. And knowing that I have been in student housing. The school never released any information to my email account and sent me a mail a few days during the scheduling of new classes and checking asking for more loans. When I finished signing up and etc. They asked me to contact the only fin. administrator who seemed to dislike me for some apparent reason. Every time I showed up in her office her smiles went away and her voice completely changes into an irritated voice and when another student enters her attitude changes back to the happiness she had before. Anyways she said that they no longer accepted CHASE and had to pick from another group of loan providers that they only accept from. And I was pretty much rejected by the only one that had deferred payment until i have graduated. The 3 or 4 were all payment plans every month while in school. And since I was not accepted I had to drop out of that school and attempt to transfer to a community college. I was accepted and all since it was a community college but the school had never sent my transcripts over. I payed them for several copies to send to my house as well as to the school i was applying to. I never received the transcripts in the mail so i wondered if the school had received it. And once I walked down to sign up for classes they said that they had not received the transcript yet and waiting. I went home frustrated and called the school. They didn't pick up the first couple of times after waiting half an hour each time. And finally when I got through they were in a rush to get me off the phone. I asked them why my transcripts have not been sent out yet and that I have not received any transcripts. (the school had this piece of paper they print out as a receipt that does not even work if they tried to scan it. The bar code across the paper is useless. Its just there to pretend that it is actually a receipt in of anything.) and so i had this useless paper that says that i paid the certain amount of money but it does not say for what. and i have several other similar receipts for the same amount for other things which made it useless since there is no proof that I have paid for that specific thing. since the bar code is there just to look pretty. Anyways so the lady on the phone kept saying that they could not find the paperwork and if she did she would send it that night and I would receive the transcripts in about a week or two. I waited that week or two and it was already cutting it close to registrations. (so basically I waited from the last day of school in December and had to wait two weeks for them to send it out and then called them again and they ask me to wait another one to two weeks max.) I waited but nothing happened. I called them again but no one picked up once again i was frustrated and annoyed. I called and they said they could not find the paper works. I paid them for a lousy service and have to pay them again if i want to enter another college. (They were unhappy when I decided the to leave the school because my money was what they were after not my education. And once the fin. administrator was all settled with me being accepted she started being a bit rude showing that she was irritated with me even though i never went to see her. The education quality of the school is extremely low in my opinion. There were only about two actual teachers that knew what they were doing. The others taught the class because they were placed in those classes randomly and did not know what they were doing. Others were doing it out of a slight hobby or wanted to test out a class they wanted to teach for fun which were required classes. WHICH WAS RIDICULOUS. And although this is true and has happened to several people probably just like me. I failed a class while putting in much effort to have him critique me harshly while several other students works were done right before class and critiqued less harshly and passes the class while I failed. which i had to take the second time and passes after a complaint about his favoring method and how students who were not favored were harshly critiqued and received a lower grade then students he favored who have done work before class or scribbled.) Anyways back to the CHASE Issue. So i told them about my situation and not being able to find a job that would hire me. they asked me to borrow money from my family and asked for family's bank account numbers and so on which i had to say no to since they are not here. and they seemed to be frustrated and said that they could not go lower then 600. and anything below would not make a dent in my payment and i will still have late fees to pay and it will all add up. Now no matter how many times i explain to them the situation they call me the next day asking the same questions over and over and over and over and over and over. I explain it to them over and over and over. I am not even sure if they did the "BAIT and "SWITCH" on me that you have mentioned. (I also wonder if the financial aid rep took the 5k that was supposed to be sent back to two different loan providers for sending me extra cash. When I was about to remove it to send it back to the lenders my Fin. Administrator said that she would take care of it and for me not to worry about it.) HM (I can't seem to trust CHASE or the school that sucked so bad with horrible workers that were rude and unprofessional. Most of the workers there were rude while a hand few were polite. They put on an act until you have been there then their true color shows over time. yet it repeats itself when a new semester starts.)
My sister went to school to become a RN to better her and her childern's life. I co-signed for her student loans, Chase, Sallie Mae and AES . She is studying for her boards, and is working 30 hours a week. Making enough monies to pay rent, utilities, food and leaving little nothing till the next paycheck. Upon receiving the first round of statement(s) for her student loans she took the professional, responsible steps to apply for forbearance. Sallie Mae and AES where approachable, and accommodating with paperwork, questions, etc. She qualified for the forbearance with Sallie Mae and AES without apprehension. Now let's talk CHASE?!?!?! Each time a customer service rep called my sister she would explain the situation to them, her plead for their help went on deaf ears. She filled out all the required forbearance paperwork, each time upon submittal she was denied. HOW can they denie when she is not working yet in her field nor monies to do so? ALL she was asking of them is time to take boards and to be working. Does this company not have a soul, it is not like my sister is the only one in the country without a job?!?!? Then due to me being the co-signer started to call me. I would ask them if she had options, that at this time she can not afford the monthly payments? The rep. was quick to say you co-signed so why are you not paying on the loan when she is not able to? I told her that this was my sisters responsibility and she has made multiply attempts to defer the loan. In a nut shell she said not their problem. I questioned how was it that Sallie Mae and AES other companies whom provide student loans where more than kind to assist? They are goverment funded companies so they have more latitude with approve of forbearance to a student loan. They have called me at work on two occasions when I told them to call my sister direct or my cell, NOT my work! One today, I asked the rep. if they did not show a payment pending on her account? She told me no? Advised her that I would contact my sister to call them back and did so. My sister spoke w. a supervisor that she had made a payment to the loan and had a conf # of it. He did verify that he showed this too. So WHY was the rep that works for Chase call me telling me otherwise? The supervisor was obliging pre qualify her for forbearance(which I will not believe that till I receive paperwork?)! SUCH B>S>, Chase a domestic company offering student loans should be ashamed of themselves and how they act toward college grads who are struggling! I told my sister once she is working as a RN, she needs to consolidate her loans with a reputable company and NEVER to use CHASE or any company affiliatedwith them!
I am going through the same ordeal as everyone else. I graduated with my Bachelors degree and haven't found a job. I submitted forbearance paperwork to all my student loan lenders. I was approved by everyone except Chase. I called and explained to them that I am unemployed and I just need a little time to get back on my feet. They said pay my first payment and they would then be able to process my paperwork for a forbearance. I did, which I had to borrow money from my sister and her family. I re-submitted the paperwork and got a letter in the mail 2 weeks latter stating that they could not approve me. I callled and they said I can't show proof that I can pay so they can't approve me. I explained to them once I get a job I will be able to pay. I asked them is that not what a forbearance is for. To give the newly graduated student time to get on their feet. They said no. It only brings your account current if you are late but, you still have to pay the payment each month. I asked them what other options do I have, I have no income to pay them. They told me I had no options, I better borrow more money from my sister or sell something in order to pay them. My family and I have banked with Chase for many years. This was the only reason I took this loan from them. We have always been very happy with Chase. The student loan section of the company has ruined my trust in them. I will never get another loan, mortgage, credit card, or anything else through them. BEWARE STUDENTS OF GETTING A LOAN THROUGH CHASE STUDENT LENDING!
They are all for lending you money, but try to put the loan in deferment & they give you the run around & while it takes you MONTHS for them to receive all of your paperwork that you have been sending over & over they report your non-payment to the credit bureau.
They also sold my loan & never notified me which is against the law. I only found out because I received a bill from a new company, called them, & they told me they purchased it from Chase! All this only to find out Chase didn't sell the loan in it's entirety; they retained part which I had to go back & get into deferment!
When I tried to get it straightened out, they refused to let me speak to a supervisor insisting one would call me back - never happened.
My other companies processed my deferals with no problem, now I can't get a mortgage because Chase wouldn't fix their mistakes!
I have had a similar experience with Chase, albeit about a seperate issue. I have a Chase student loan that I am paying back from my undergraduate education. Before I enrolled in graduate school, I contacted Chase to receive information about an in-school deferment for the loan. On multiple occassions I was told that if I was at least a part-time student at an accredited university, I would receive an in-school deferment.
As soon as I started my graduate program I completed the requisite forms and had my school certify them. I sent them to Chase and waited several weeks without hearing anything. I contacted them and spoke with a representative who told me it takes time to process and to call back later. The next time I called, I was told by the representative that the type of loan I had was ineligible. I asked to speak with a manager as I had been told on multiple occassions previously that I would receive this deferment. The manager was "busy" so I gave the agent my phone number for him/her to call me back when they were available. Four days went by and no one called. I never received so much as an apology for all the misinformation I was given. I am now in graduate school and faced with student-loan payments that I can't make because Chase lied to me.
Since then I have spoken with more Chase representatives who have assured me that I am eligible but never sent in the correct forms. However I have also spoken with agents who dispute that and say I am still ineligible. This is extremely frustrating. Every once in awhile you will get a kind agent, but for the most part, the people I speak with are rude, unhelpful, and give false information. It is not surprising to see that they have an F rating at the Better Business Bureau
AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I too was ignorant to the fact that I took out a parent plus loan of apprx. $28, 000 for 1 year of college for my son. I was told that no money was to be paid until 6 months after graduation and long and behold "bam" I kept getting noticed of payment due $350.00 a month. I said to myself "WTF" I can not pay this now! They school mislead me. The loan is from the US Dept of Education and now the 1st time in my 53 yrs of Life ..I have bad credit. Does anyone know how I can get out of this bogus loan? Pls pls advise

I work in a financial aid office at a private college and have just met with our Chase Bank rep. He told me that the highest possible rate for a student who applies for a Chase Select loan without a cosigner is prime plus 6%. If the student has a cosigner it could go as high as prime plus 5.5%. Are you sure about the rate that he was given? Was it called the Chase Select loan? They do have other private education loans as well. And it is true that 99.9% of private loans have variable rates. I did have a student who found a private loan through her own state's guarantee agency that had a fixed rate. You could always have him get another private loan elsewhere and have the Chase one returned. The financial aid office at his college can help him with this but they will most likely require that the new funds be there first before they will return Chase's funds.
rip off
After receiving last month's credit card statement, I noticed that there were fraudulent charges on my husband's account. I immediately called customer service and spoke to them regarding the situation. Needless to say, the situation was very upsetting and all kinds of thoughts were running through my head about identity theft, what I should do, who I should contact, etc. For the next few days, I proceeded to go through the necessary steps to try to prevent further theft. But in the mean time I totally forgot to pay my credit card balance (minus the fraudulent charges) which I usually do online.
I immediately called Chase Bank two days after the due date to explain my situation, and to ask whether they could waive the late fee ($39) and finance charges ($440). The customer rep. proceeded to tell me that she could waive the late fee but not the finance charge. I further explained to her that if she looked at our history, she would see that we were excellent customers and were NEVER LATE in making payments for the last 36 years. AND were victims of fraud... could she make an exception? She acted as though she could have cared less. I then asked to speak to a supervisor.
Same could care less attitude... The supervisor further explained that there were no exceptions and only if it was a 'bank error' could they waive any fees/charges. I felt as though I were speaking to robots who were just reading off of a manual... no emotion, could care less.
I then proceeded to let them know that I would be canceling my accounts with them and would take my business elsewhere.

This bank is involved in major criminal activity and have our government buffalowed real good. They lie directly to congress and our president and need to be put out of business for it! If you and I let them get away with these huge rip-offs, all the other banks will follow their lead. Write congress and expose these criminals and report their criminal ways to your attorney general etc. There is also a very helpful website. www.helpwithmybank.gov that should be able to help you. Write them a letter explaining what Chase has done to you. This is a very organized and wealthy bank that will probubly get away with this theivery if we let them. Get mad AND even, I am. Don't give up or give in. They may not prevail!
DONT DO IT! We were offered and excepeted a rate reduction for our loan on a property in Texas. After agreeing to a rate we paid an applicatin fee of $395.00 and a closing fee of about $450.00 after the the loan was approved. We signed all the closing docs with a Notary and had a date to start the new loan a month later. Then all hell broke loose. To make a long story short our loan officer and Chase bank in San Diego were not authorized to make loans for Texas properties. Our officer was still in training and didn't know he couldn't sell a Loan Mod for a Texas Property. We did not look for this loan, they called us! They wanted to start all over again with a new rate that was not exceptable to us. We said that we weren't interested in a new rate and wanted a refund. They said they would not refund the App. fee and then charged us for the $175.00 for the Notary! We are going to be suing in small claims but this is a joke. They won't even return our calls. We have been a Chase customer with no late or missed payments for about 5 years. I will be looking to refi with someone else. Chase is a Rippoff...WTF Dont say you haven't been warned!
I have had the same problem with them. Chase Bank is absolutely terrible. We are switching banks. There was a charge on my girlfriend's account (debit card transaction) that we never took part in. I called them and Chase said that the debit card was present at the time of purchase. I explained to them that I have never shopped at that particular store and was 100% sure I did not make that purchase. I am still in the process of trying to get my money back.
Read mine.. I have them on tape and some papers they printed.. which I really shouldnt have due to it showing the times of charges going into pre auth and wdl purch which means when they actually paid that merchant.. she lied through her [censor].. and Im so tired of these jerks draining us and now have proof that the system or them is switching posted and pending charges so you are charged a back over draft fee...
They are incompetent idiots; as least the ones I can understand! Two years ago I tried to refinance and paid $900.00 to get it going, every time I called I was directed to a new rep and given a new e-mail to send paper to. Then I call because I’ve heard nothing; I was told the appraisal was now too old and I needed to re-apply and pay for it again. I get paid on the first of the month so that’s when I send in the payment, I always get called from some person I can’t understand. My wife and I decided to use some investments and just pay the house off so I requested a payoff amount in November and skipped November’s payment. Its December 3rd and I call today to get the payoff amount, I did very well today; one and a half hours on the phone and I only was cut off three times and had to call back. Yesterday (Friday) the collection dept. called twelve times, yes that’s (12) times. And no person at chase will listen or try to help. I’m very ashamed to think they are an American company.
I agree CHASE bank sucks, they are horrible people and they take advantage of anyone they can. They are crooks and I hope they get sued, I will NEVER have anything to do with anything with the CHASE logo on it.
Do not use CHASE, no matter what, if you need a car, buy a car from a stranger on the street, before you deal with CHASE, you won't get ripped off as bad as you would if you were dealing with CHASE.
If you want to buy a house don't use CHASE, live in a shelter before getting tied up with CHASE, I'm not kidding! They will make your life hell, they will own you and your family, they will call your family and friends without your permission or knowledge, they should forced to close their doors, people need to start officially filing complaints on them, I am/did.
CHASE workers should be embarassed to be a part of them.
I agree Chase bank is a big ripp off. I have and will be closing my account soon. I was notcing on my online statement a charge of 20 dollars to my account. Little did I know this was happening which in turn made me go nsf because of their fee which I had not authorized.
Apparently the charge after discussing with a customer represenative is that my account is linked to my morgage account and the fee was to accomidate the convience. Keep in mind my account had always been linked to my morgage and I was never charge such a stupid fee.
They will be getting their payment for my house by mail from not own. Bye bye chase. My advice open an account somewhere else. I hope they get sued bunch of crooks.
Chase Bank is the biggest rip off. I was only 18 when I opened my account as a fresh college student and they told me they would give me student benefits. I can't even go to an ATM to check my money without getting charged. It's ridiculous. My boyfriend has Bank Of America and I need to transfer money to his account to pay half the rent because I don't have a check book and he does. They say it costs twenty five dollars just to do that meanwhile to put money in his account all you have to do is transfer it. No fee. On top of that, I unknownly went over my checking account balance by 2 dollars and now I'm 38.33 cents below. How can that be? Overdraft fees are ridiculous and now they're taking it out of my savings accoutn which only holds just enough money to pay the rent. There are no Chase banks around where I am because I move from New York nor are there any ATMs. I'm constantly being charged just to check my account balance and now I'm broke. I can't even afford my rent. I'm in college and I have enough problems with loans, it's hard to find a job and I can't ask my mother for this kind of money. It isn't fair. I can't wait to swithc my bank now to Bank Of America.
WARNING ABOUT CHASE BANK: I recently was a victim of a scam. Chase did nothing. I was stupid, but I trusted Chase. A check was deposited in my account from Chase to Chase. I was told they could verify that check instantly since it was in same bank family. I asked teller to make sure funds was in that account before removing. Teller gave me cash. I gave to x-friend, whose check it was. Check was for $10K. It was written from 5 month old CLOSED account. I find out teller "misunderstood" thinking I wanted to know if the funds were available in MY ACCOUNT. Regardless of if he verifies funds, I was told this check should have shown up in their FLAGGING system. Why didn't it?
Chase explained although it was a Chase check, it was deposited at a WAMU branch that had NOT YET BEEN CONVERTED to Chase and it "simply slipped through the cracks." I'm pursuing the x-friend. Meanwhile my account is now NEGATIVE $8K and is going to CheckSystems, Collections in 60 days. In the end, I'm told I took the money out so I'm responsible to put it back. I was hesitant about the whole transactions which is why I asked Chase to verify the funds. They could have at least warned me; they did so AFTER the fact, with branch manager saying "we see these kinds of scams all the time." To hear responses like that and "it simply slipped through the cracks" and "teller misunderstood you" or "he interpreted it this way" is UNACCEPTABLE especially when dealing with such large amounts of cash. Do NOT bank with Chase. They will Chase you down and wear you out!
There computers are money crazy. I check my balance about three times a day or more. I woke up one morning to an overdraft of 947.00 due to a large check that I had written a month before. I got up, went straight to the the bank and deposit 1000.00 dollars. I was shock the next morning when I was hit with a fee of 70.00 dollars. I was always told that you can catch any fee's, if you take care of it as soon as it post. They can bite my dust, I 'm out of here.
what does it take to pay off my card
On July 11, 2008 I called Chase and asked how much I needed to pay my card off, and close my account since I was getting charged almost 29%. After paying over $8, 600.00, the amount I was told by the customer service rep. to pay, I received another bill for $28.00 a month later for interest! I was told if I did not pay it would accumulate late fees and eventually go against my credit. What do I do! I feel I cannot combat this, and have no alternative but to pay the fee. This is not right?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
after how many months of no emails and paper letter, I receive a phone call stating I have not paid the rolling interest for months with late fees? I closed this account last Oct for sakes! Oh so we argue over the phone and I get the late fees taken off and I understand the interest so I paid the full amount of that interest off and guess what? They charged $1.98 on the same card this month! WTF
Ok. After all that conversation back n forth, we agreed this is the final payoff of rolling interest, and they have the nerve to charge $1.98. Some sort of sarcasm?
I plan on suing this company if this keeps continuing. So annoying!
Same thing happened to me! Chase is just a horrible company to deal with. I am cutting up all of my Chase cards and will never use them again. Now they are charging me a $39 late fee for an electronic payment that they chose to accept the day after the due date. This company truly deserves to go belly-up!
I guess Chase employees are making so much money that they have time to comment on their loan shark tactics. Credit card companies have very powerfull computers (yes they need the right software too) so they should be able to state what your balance is to "pay off in full". That is what most reasonable people think when they see a balance. I bet Chase does not credit any interst charged if a customer sends in their payment early. For you Chase apologist please note they paid off $8, 600 to state that they did not want to pay what they owe ($24) simply does not add up. The way to vote is with your feet, go and close your acconts, stop using your Chase credit cards and I bet Chase would stop using "shark" tactics (or they can go crying to the US governement for more money) It seems Chase cannot or does not want to pay what they OWE!
Gene,
Ok so someone at the company made a mistake in telling you that it was a payoff. Now that you understand why you are being billed the residual interest. Why are you blaming Chase for making a mistake. Do you think just because Chase made a mistake that you do not owe it? Come on...again I have to say be an informed consumer and take responsibility.
Brian and Kristina
I asked what the "payy off" was from Chase's customer service person. She should have said something. It's crap and should be illegal.
I AGREE WITH BRIAN, DONT SIGN AN AGREEMENT IF YOU DONT KNOW THE FACTS, GET EDUCATED, STOP BLAMING OTHERS. YOU GET FEES CAUSE U DONT PAY, YES YOU PAY A FEE FOR MAKING A OVER THE PHONE PAYMENT, PAY IT ONLINE ITS FREE. SIMPLE TO FIX, DONT GET A CARD IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT UR SIGNING UP FOR!
Same thing happend to me. I paid my accout off in full and the next month I got a bill for $14.57 and to make it worse I did not get the bill in the mail until the day that it was due. After spending over an hour on the phone with the service dept and managers I was told there is nothing they can do about it. I ended up paying the 14.57 plus the extra fee for it to go through that day so I would not be charged a late fee pluse more interest fees.
This is completely correct and valid interest. You need to be a informed consumer about your card and read the thing you received called a "Card Member Agreement" that was sent with your card.
A credit card that is accruing interest will NEVER be able to give you an exact payoff amount, because the amount of the balance is going to accrue interest on the load daily up until the act is at zero. You made the final payment probably in the middle of the current cycle and carried the balance for a few days. You have to understand that credit cards are loans and do accrue interest on that loan at a daily rate.
My advice...the $28 dollars is interest on the loan from the date of the previous cycle date ending to the date the payment is posted to the act for the full balance. You still have the $28 owed for that time...pay it...it is valid...the agreement that I an referring to explains completely why is valid and owed. Accept it, pay it, move on...it is not worth what can happen to your credit score if you decided to just not pay it.
Be an informed consumer about how the account works...and quit blaming credit card companies like Chase for billing you for something that is owed...just because you don't understand or want to understand the explanation that is given for why the fee for $28 is billed
unfair late fees
Chase is a rip off. I paid my chase bill online on a sunday afternoon. For some reason, I could not submit the payment on the due date (which is the actual date I was making the payment). There system would only let me submit my payment for the following date, which would make my payment late. I later found out chase has a deadline for payments which is 4:00pm. I made my payment at 5:23pm. No big deal, I thought I 'll call and explain and they will erase the late fee. They have to I said, it was only a hour and 23 minutes "so called" late. Boy was I mistaken, not only would they not take off the charge. The manager on duty, mr. Micheal monroe - if that's his real name. Proceeded to tell me, (In short) that because I did'nt spend alot of money I could not be considered. Well dang, I did'nt know that when they came after me to open up an account that they saw me as invaluable. After speaking to three reps. My account was charged the $39.00 late fee and my account was closed. Boy, not only did he tell me I was of no value to the company, he showed me as well. Well, my eyes are open. The 4:00 dealine is just another way to tack on uneccesary fees, so that you stay in bondage and they can stay ridiculously profitable. I plan to go after chase like truth goes after the the major cigarette companies. I plan on calling again tomorrow and speak with a mr. Marc schlesinger. We will see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
at least they let you speak to a manager...i called in today 8/19/09 about trying to get them to lower the interest on the card and they wouldn't let me speak to anyone higher up, i requested a corporate number, etc... etc...nothing...i even tried calling back and same story...apparently now all they give you is a fax number or an address so you can write in with your complaint...terrible customer service!
I am completely shocked by Chase policy of not listening to the Customer for not paying their bill on time. Here is sthe situation, I checked my bills out and I have paid above the minimum amount due for the last year. at the end of June of this year I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma stage 4. I live alone and try to take care of my bills alone. I usually go thru the bills at the first of the month since that is the time I am paid thru a disability retirement. Well this month I was amitted to the Hospital for a few days with what they call neautrophenia Fever and other problems that occur with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma Cancer. I have had 6 chemotherapy treatments in the last 4 months which has made it hard for me to be able to think of where I am with my bills. My Chase credit card bill was due on the 11th of November for the amount of $10.00. In the past again i have paid them well over the amount is due each month. Unfortunately I was amitted with a infection that my body could not fight since my white blood cells were to low to be able to fight the infection. My Neautrofils count was almost down to zero and without the help of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital I would have died from the infections that I could not fight off without the anti-biotics. I was in bed for a couple of days when I got home from the hospital unable to work on my bills. I live alone, I have no friends to come and help me each month on taking care of my house or my household bills. All of my creditors have been willing to help me accept CHASE. They would not let me talk to their supervisor, nor give me a phone number to call someone. The cost of fighting this cancer has been astronomical but somehow I have been able to pay their bill on time plus $40 dollars more each month. My amount I owe them is around $400.00 and I am sure that the amount of the late fee is going to be $40.00 . A late fee of 10 percent for being 2 days late. I am just thankful that I was able to live thru this last battle with the side effects of cancer and yes it would have been nicer if CHASE Credit Card Service could have waived the late fee due to the circumstances. If Anyone knows any phone numbers to call to be able to get some action please let me know ... $40.00 to them my not mean much . But $40.00 to me is life or death when your fighting a terrible disease as Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma ...
made electronice payment 3 days early and they posted it 1 day late. changed my 3.9 % intrest to 13.9. im not taking it i have proof through electronic transfer. im going to arbitration on this one. dont use chase they will cheat you. on an old account i had i sent a check 9 days early for a saturday due date. it posted at 3:20 am sunday morning. who was there at 3 in morning processing checks?
Chase did something simular to me .. Ive been a customer of theres due to them acquiring my credit card accounts from other banks. One day I missed making a payment via online by the due date, but paid it after the due date. In fact Ive always paid more than what is due and usually well before its due date. I contacted there customer service and requested a waiver of the late charge $39.00 on my $10.00 monthly payment. They refused to waive it and went on to tell me the money is due Chase. They would not even consider a partial waiver. Ive never been late and it was an oversight, and then they told me to go on and sign up for automactic payment. I felt there customer service personnel were treating me like dead beat customer. There tone with me was rough and I felt very unfair. I since moved the balance to a 1.9% card and refused to charge on my Chase cards. My next step is to contact the companies tied to my chase cards, Sony, Amazon, and Circuit City and advise of there practices.
online billing
I have a Chase credit card. They sent me mail touting the benefits of a paperless account. I went to their web site to register. I read the terms and conditions and declined because they required arbitration for any dispute. I soon began to get spam mail from their partners so I sent a email to the person who sent me a welcome-to-their-website email. I stated unequivocally that I had declined the terms and did not want access to their site. I also demanded that they contact every one of their partners and ensure that my name was removed from their mailing list. The mail eventually trickled off but when I charged an item on my Chase card, the bill went to the web site instead of being mailed. It was the first charge I had made in two years. Naturally, I didn't pay it, having never seen it. By chance, a clerk offered me 20% off a purchase for signing up for a credit card. I accepted but the application was rejected. zA check of my credit report revealed that Chase had been charging me late fees for six months on top of the original charge. I called Chase and had a heated discussion with a woman who said they were only authorized to 'forgive' three months of late fees. I asked her to get me someone who could rescind ALL the late fees and she asked who I think that might be. Smart ###, she was. I simply replied that she should find me someone in her organization who is in a position to hire and fire. That's the person I want to talk to. She switched me to another state and the person I spoke agreed to rescind the charges and I agreed to pay for the original charge. I payed over the phone and then filed a dispute with the credit bureau. I am contemplating legal action for the unauthorized switching of my account. Once I get a legal opinion from an attorney, I will decide what approach to take. I am looking for Chase to answer my dispute with a negative reply. That should give me some ammo to tear them a new one.

You made a credit card charge and because they didn't get a bill you you naturally didn't pay it? I don't understand anytime I charge my credit card I always know that I made a charge regardless if it goes on the paper bill or not. good luck trying to get those fees reversed.
unprofessional service
I was going to open an account in this bank. I was invited to talk by Abbas. I asked him to tell me about my options about different account types. He could not explain anything and called some woman who looked like him and she tried to sell me municipal bonds instead of explaining me what I was asking for. It was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional...

When I originally purchased my car last November, I financed my car through the dealer, and my loan was assigned to SunTrust Bank. I was unhappy with the trerms of the loan (5 year/8.5% APR), so in January, I decided to refinance my car loan through Chase Auto Finance, which offered me better terms and a lower APR. My loan with SunTrust was paid off by...

In June of 2008 Chase double debited my checking account and stated it was my fault because I had made two payments online, one for instant pay and then scheduled one for three days later. I explained to them that I had not done this and wanted one payment credited back to my account. Also, I wanted to be reimbursed for the overdraft fees they had caused. I was given a laundry list of things to fax them (and I did) but got no where with this. Well, after double debiting my account, they sent me a check for the overpayment BUT THEN refunded the two debits to the bank! Two payments out then three payments refunded!
And now they say I have a negative report on my credit history for 30+ days late! I can not use my checking account because Chase keeps taking and returning odd amounts. So, I thought that I should use auto - debit and made arrangements with chase ofr this to start --------- well, when the date came for the payment to come out automatically I was told it couldn't happen as we had agreed because my Chase account was delinquent (?) The will tell you anything on the telephone but will not stick behind it. Plus, They never paid the full balance to the former car loan company and it took me over three months to get them to do after being told several times it was taken care of. This was another derogatory credit rating I did not deserve. It's just not a group you can trust with something as valuable as an automobile or your credit. In a word they are crooked.
So I actually just went through the whole overdraft issue with Chase. They took longer than expected to post a deposit, and as a result my account when in the red. Instead of posting transactions in the order the occurred, they reordered 5 days worth of transactions to benefit them self.
Outraged that a bank was allowed to do this, I actually took them to Small Claims court and WON! I just received a phone call from a woman in their legal department informing me that the ONLY reason I won was because they didn't show up and thus defaulted. They had every opportunity to arrive (it was scheduled 6 weeks in advance) and didn't. They also can not assume that they would automatically win the case.
Chase is an example of a bank that says they focus on customer service while in the background, tries to come up with ways to extract more fees from their customers. I plan to close my account as soon as possible.
onerous charge for paying a bill
Apparently Chase Bank charges $14.95 for a person to PAY a credit card bill online from your Bank account. Isn't that outrageous? I paid THE ENTIRE $1000+ BILL EARLY since I was going out of town -- I paid it online from my Bank Checking account, as I do all my bills. I then got a bill with this $14.95 charge. When I called "Pier One" -- really CHASE BANK -- they said if I didn't pay it, my credit would be affected because it would be reported. NO OTHER INSTITUTION I KNOW OF CHARGES YOU FOR MAKING A PAYMENT. (It even costs less to process a payment online than it does a check)
The person answering my call was only doing his job. THE MANAGEMENT HOWEVER IS MAKING A POLICY I CONSIDER GREEDY, OUTRAGEOUS, PREYING ON THOSE WHO ARE JUST TRYING TO GET BY, AND WRONG.
SHOULDN'T WE DO SOMETHING ABOUT OUR NATIONAL LAWS AND POLICIES TO CURB SUCH ILL TREATMENT? WE HAVE LAWS ABOUT DIRECT ROBBERY. MAYBE IT'S TIME TO CONSIDER LAWS ABOUT INDIRECT ROBBERY.
CERTAINLY -- TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE ABOUT CHASE BANK... AND ALL THE OFFERS MADE VIA/through OTHER INSTITUTIONS -- UNFORTUNATELY IN THIS CASE -- PIER ONE.
harassing calls to wrong number
I received the first call asking for a name I didn't know - told her she had mis-dialed; I'd had the number for years. She treated me with disrespect; as if I were hiding them. Got a similar call a week later; this time with a taunting tone. I complained to Chase Auto Finance. They claim there is nothing they can do unless I provide information on the collector calling! The third call I tried to get a name - the woman suddenly realized I was trying to track the call and hung up instantly.
That Chase hires a person such as the one by whom I was harassed, and is indifferent to their actions is unconscionable.
I tried to reach senior management at Chase Corporate to let them know their Auto Finance division was in need of attention - I was blown off with a "You can send your concerns to this address.".
i have been fighting with this company for years about my old car loan. this company needs some serious customer service training. The representatives and managers are dispicable, and should not be dealing with the public. I have spoken to several manages regarding my problem and they just tell me to sue them. the problem is that. Chase reported to credit bureaus that my car loan was a charge-off / paid in full. my problem is, is that chase does not know the correct definition of charge-off. which means: profit loss, accounts will likely remain uncollectable, written off. I was 60 days late on my car loan in March, I forget what year. I recieved calls and I told them I was sending the payment to them. I ended up Paying off the car in full In July that same year which ended up being 2 months early. the final payment was do in september and I paid it in july. they reported to the the credit bureaus that it was a charge-off. Not that i was 60 days late then paid in full, but a charge off. I've done some research on this and found that :COMPANIES DO THIS SO IT SHOWS UP AS AN EXPENSE ON THEIR INCOME STATEMENT, THUR REDUCING THEIR NET INCOME. SO FOR THEM TO SAVE ALITTLE MONEY MY CREDIT GETS NAILED WITH THE CHARGE-OFF. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY THE FEDS. AND TREASURARY DEPT. BECAUSE US SO CALLED LITTLE PEOPLE NEED TO FIGHT BACK. WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AGAINST THIS DISPICABLE COMPANY AND PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS. LOOK AT ALL THE COMPAINTS AND HAS CHASE RESOLVED ANY? dO THEY EVEN CARE.NO! OTHER WISE WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A CORPORATE NUMBER FOR CUSTOMERS TO CALL WITH OUR ISSUES.I'LL FIGHT THIS TILL END. IF TIME HAS EXPIRED ON MY ISSUE AND GOT REMOVED FROM MY CREDIT REPORT AFTER 7 years. IAM STILL GOING TO FIGHT BECAUSE OF THE PRINCIPAL . THEY HAVE NO RIGBHT TO DO THIS TO PEOPLE.
fraud and scam
About 5 years ago, my mortgage was sold to Chase, I did not choose them. I have paid every single mortgage payment at least 2 weeks prior to its due date, and on most of my payments, I have added extra money to be applied to the principal. I have to believe I am an excellent customer (my credit rating is 826). I have no escrow accounts with them and up...

Lee kevin deutsch, vice president & general counsel of chase auto finance legal department, wrote, this letter to my attorney after chase miscalculated my loan by 1000's. Charging me 17k interest and 12k principal over several years. Yes.

Dear mr. _____;
Your fax of july 14, 2008 has been referred to the undersigned to reply. Please note that chase rejects your clients settlement demand as it has already corrected her account, waived its balance and deleted its credit reporting with respect to the account. Your client has already received as much, or more, relief that she is entitled to.
Please further note if your client insists on pursuing time barred or otherwise frivolous claims, they will be vigorously defended.
My attorney sent this for damages; I thought a very fare amount considering chase only creidted me approx. 5k.

Chase auto finance legal dept:
Nancy,
Enclosed for your review are the following:
1. Attorney records from liens filed in orange county courts on your behalf against my client
2. Copy of the & atilde;¢ï¿½ï¿½summary of new termsã¢ï¿½ï¿½ dated 03 oct 29
1. This document shows a new interest rate at 9%apr
2.In inaccurate principal amount of $34, 517.23 i. Principal balance (Per loan summary sheet) should have been represented to the district court at $28, 708.00.
3. Itemized accounting of all payments made by my client from the date a reaffirmation. This document shows that a total payment of $29, 719.99 tendered by my client, which chase illegally applied $17, 939.99 toward interest during this period.
4. A letter that my client typed and intends to forward to the named recipients.
5. Finally, a harassment list my client also typed and requested that I send directly to you.
Please review these documents. It is our initial legal position that chase is liable for: negligence, misrepresentation, unfair and deceptive business, fraud, misrepresentation, and caused my client severe emotional distress. We also intend to pursue relief in any manner applicable under federal truth in lending laws and california consumer protection act. If this matter is not resolved in a timely manner, we intend to request punitive damages and legal fees, as applicable under california law.
My client formally requests a settlement in the amount of $30, 000.00.
It is apparent and clear that on october 29, 2003 chase auto finance agreed to terms of the new agreement with the bankruptcy court, see: in and for the central district of californiaã¢ï¿½ï¿½santa ana reaffirmation agreement. The terms of this agreement contractually obligate chase and my client to a simple interest loan calculated at 9% interest. As per this agreement, my client performed consecutive payments at $859.00 per month. However, chase auto finance misapplied all payments to interest. In three years, chase applied over $17, 000 in interest and merely $11, 780 toward principal. This action is clearly in violation of the contract.
During this period, my client made several (Over 70 phone calls) attempts to determine the cause for her inability to sell the vehicle for more than her miscalculated principal.
In addition, my client faced the humiliation of a wrongful repossession for amounts that she did not owe. Because of the miscalculated interest and principal, my client was forced to pay late charged, repossession charges, and borrow money from friends and family to rectify the situation caused by the negligent miscalculations. Chase auto finance places blame on a system error or glitch. However, this is unacceptable.
In the event that this matter is not resolved, my client will seek all avenues available to expose this event to national media source, all consumer advocate resources, and file a complaint in the orange county district court.
On behalf of my client, I formally request that chase auto finance review this manner and respond within (3) three business days.
Respectfully,
Attorney at law
I don't know - for miscalculation of my loan by 1000's of dollars, in which I made 70 calls to correct, over several years... I thought 30k was very honest amount to go for.
Chase "the right relation means nothing to us"
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was late on my car payment 30 days and judy called me at work i told she would the payment my next she told that she is comming for the car she asked me why have i been late i told her since i bought the car it has been in the shop once a month she said that is not her problem and then told me she would call my boss and tell him what a loser i am and then hung up the phone on me i tryed calling her back but she would not return my phone calls. and now the repo. company is calling my work they are very nice people there they just told me call chase to make a payment but they will not return my calls.thank you
We walked foolishly into this transaction with Chase out of desperation of needing a car. We were not coaxed nor talked into it. We were persuaded by the cost of replacing the transmission in the vehicle we had. We should never have made this decision as quickly as we did. Our fault, end of that chapter.
I will also not blame Chase for the financial bind we put ourselves into, however I do feel they take advantage of people with the type of loans they make and the interest they charge. But again, if we had not been so desperate, thinking this was our only option, we wouldn’t have signed the papers and I would not be writing this letter. Our fault again for not paying enough attention.
Where I do find fault with Chase is in the way they do business. But, I guess this is the way corporations do business these days. As long as companies like Chase can distance themselves from the individual customer, they can be uncaring and cold in their practices. I am not asking for special treatment, don’t get me wrong. I have a responsibility and I want to own up to it, but look at me as an individual. Look at my past performance, understand that I may have a problem and run into a hiccup in my finances. Oh, when the customer service rep is on the phone with you, you are made to feel like you are so very important and they have strong desire to help you. What one does not realize in that moment, that the main goal is to sugar coat the fact that while they are “helping” you, they are only thinking to get through this phone call and on to the next dead beat that does not pay their bills on time. In “helping” they suggest various sorts of ways, down to borrowing money from your neighbor. The ultimate “let us help you” I got last year was to defer two months payments. “This way we avoid annoying phone calls and you can get caught up and start fresh in two months.” Great, thank you --- for nothing.
January roles around and the process of trying to purchase a home begins. Yet another assembly of flaming hoops to jump through, but that is another story. Chase has reported not the two actual (which I am not proud of) months past 30 days, but rather four consecutive months. I was told that Chase only shows two when I called three times in one week. When I called the fourth time, the following week, I finally reached someone who walked through the payment history with me. – after being told by the three previous employees they can’t see the history, only that two payments had been late. Hmmm…..lazy or just untrained? As we walked through the history, yes, two payments, May and July were late. And yes, there is reason, which I explained each and every time to every person I talked to at Chase in those months which I was desperately trying to keep our finances afloat, not that they bother to make note of that, it’s better to have the customer repeat over and over the struggle. I digress. Ms. Corrales explains to me that she will personally take care of this error in reporting to the credit bureaus (which I might add were not all reporting the same information) and request that it is corrected and that I would also receive a letter that I could give to the lender for the mortgage.
I waited patiently for two weeks to get said letter. When I got it, it was a form letter that indicated after researching the account, what was reported was indeed accurate and therefore no changes would be made in to the credit bureaus. Nicely played Chase, nicely played.
Upon speaking with an overly cheery Rosie Something-or-Other, who made me feel like the Steve Martin character from Planes, Trains and Automobiles, you know the scene, and being on hold for over 5 minutes, came back to unnecessarily go over the history with me three more times, then tells me she needs to research this info and I could either hold a few more minutes or she could call me back. I told her I would call Ms. Corrales, which I did. Who also put me on hold for about 9 minutes only to return and offer the same deal Rosie had. At that point, I informed her that no, I needed to pick up a kid from school then my husband from work, why? because two weeks ago, we were in a four car collision resulting in his car being totaled and we are now down to one car – and yes, I interjected with how badly I wished it had been the Malibu – call me back. Which she did, leaving a message with the term “rolling delinquencies”, meaning we are basically screwed because Chase has determined that while May was late, it is not reported as such, June was late but not past 30 days, but because May was past 30 days, June had (yes, ‘had’) to be reported as delinquent. Because July and August were paid in a double payment, August not being 30 days late, they both ‘had’ to be reported as delinquent. September, which was deferred (and they try to tell me every time that only October was deferred until I insist they check the record and only then do they see that it was September and October both) for some asinine reason, is also reported delinquent. No payment was due, but it is “accurately” reported delinquent. Ms. Corrales did seem genuinely sorry that she had misinformed me about correcting the error two weeks ago, but there was nothing she could do for me further. She told me it does not make sense to her either and that it took quite a bit of explaining for her to understand what “rolling delinquencies” meant, which she was unable to restate other than to repeat how it was reported, not why it was reported this way. Somehow, that all seems “fair and accurate” to Chase and I’m guessing to the credit bureaus as well.
So, thank you Chase for your cold and uncaring attitude toward your customers. I know I am not alone, as I publicly announce my intense loathing of your company; I am comforted in a rather twisted way to know others are treated as poorly as I have been. I am one person, but I will use my voice. Anywhere and everywhere I can get the word out as to your horrible business nature I will.
By far the worst customer service in the history of customer services. Good luck trying to get anyone who can speak clear English. For an issue that could have and should have taken all but 20 minutes, took over 2 weeks. Good luck getting a supervisor to call you back, good luck getting directed to the same person you spoke with before who actually knows your claim. Extremely rude. They not only lied to me but actually gave false names of supervisors when their own local Chase representitive called on our behalf. The CSR would give a name, the local Chase Rep would look them up in the system and believe it or not, they didn't exist. It was a fake name. I spoke to 7 different CSR's over the two week span. The issue was never resolved with the customer service hotline. If it wasn't for the local Chase Rep and the 3rd party involved who quite frankly didn't care what Chase said or did, they would help rectify the situation without involving Chase or even following Chase's on policies/contract with them. The 3rd party also complained about the impoliteness of the CSR's at Chase. Adivce... Stay away from Chase by all means.
Some one who says they are from Chase auto has been calling family members saying they were references on my loan. Yes I am have problems with Chase as they say I did not make this months payment but the bank says they took the funds so they are investigating what is going on but why contact my family at all?
Terrible company. Very rude customer service... Was late on car payment due to hardship situation... They called every day about 7 times a day...
i have a box wired under my dash . and the red lights blinking . my truck started and ran fine friday, sunday i try to start it and it just cranks like no fuel, , can chase do this?
chase hasent taken the payment out of my account and have been rude and nasty with phone calls, i have a box wired to the truck which i think they had my truck pinged . all it did this morning was crank, wont start, is this possable or do i have a fuel pump problem?
Sorry to hear about this...Chase is the worst offender of all the banks.
You probably had a subprime loan because of your bad credit...Chase takes these types of loans very seriously. I bet you didn't thank Chase when they bought your horrible credit loan. If you were having financial hardship, your first move should have been to contact Chase yourself and work out payment arrangements. Once the collections dept is involved, they are going to do whatever they need to do to collect that payment or repo the car. It's your obligation to pay it. That's why you signed a contract, DUH! Cars aren't free, they are suppose to be paid for! If you can't afford it, voluntarily have it reposessed...end of story.
tlg*greatfn
I received information about great fun and I thought I might try it, but decided not to. I contacted them after I received a check from them and told them to cancel me. '
They asked if I had cashed the check, which I told them I didn't.
They said had I cashed it, I would have been locked in on the deal.
I tore it up and threw it away.
I received my chase visa bill today and they say I was late on my great fun payment. (Which I do not have) this has increased my apr 3.00 points higher. I want my 5.99% back!
This is outrageous! Can I get help!
homeowners insurance fraud
We purchased our house in 2002. Our loan has been moved to several different mortgage companies (not at our request). In September 2007 Chase took over our mortgage. In January we received a letter from Chase saying that they had provided home owner insurance for us and the rate was $743.00. I called them because we have home owners insurance since day one with Farmers at $450.00 per year. They said they acquired our loan from another institution and was unable to confirm home owners insurance. Funny, they knew how to auto pay the loan each month which includes Principal, interest, taxes and INSURANCE. plus we make a extra principal payment on top of it. Why didn't they send a letter in September asking for a copy of our insurance policy. Now I receive a letter that our escrow account is SHORT $721.80 so they will be increasing our monthly payments. I called once I received the letter in January about the $743.00. We had a three way call with my Farmer's agent who confirmed we have had NO lapse in coverage and Chase said they would reverse the $743.00 charge. It is JULY and now they want me to make up the shortage THEY created in our escrow account.
They did the exact same thing to my wife and I. They have raised our payment $500.00 a month because of this (past 6 months) and I can't get anyone on the phone that can help me. I have requested an "Escrow Analysis" to try to get these charges reversed, but they keep sending me to other departments, then putting me on hold, then hanging up on me! Their customer service is horrible and I am getting a lawyer to try to help us out, even though it will cost me more money. Who can we report this to that could make a difference? It is shameful and should be illegal.
They did exactly the same thing to me. After my first year of house payments they paid my Insurance then started dunning my escrow account for it. They charged me for period of time when they said they had no proof of coverage. Basically, I have had to fight them every month since. Today, I got a "soft collections" call at work, because they say I am past due because I didn't pay the escrow amount in my payment that they said I owed. Surely there must be something that can be done. Obviously this is something they do to people on a regular basis. Maybe a Big Old Class Action Law Suit is in the works. Oh yeah, to thank me for being loyal customer they raised my interest rate on my credit card by 6%. I could either take it or leave it. If I chose to refuse, they would close my account, which looks bad on your credit report. FURIOUS!
I agree with everyone on this comment board and I am so sorry to hear about all the trouble that you are all having. This is the reason I started my company. I have helped several people that have mortgages with ASC, Countrywide, and other mortgage companies that don't seem to care if they harass people or suck them dry. The comments I have heard are along the lines of trying to get blood from a stone or turnip, or something like that.
Contrary to what some people have said on here, I am not trying to be one of those people I mentioned above. My company is a nationwide company that provides services for people that are at the end of their rope. One of the helpful things that we provide is letting you know, before payment for service, if we can assist you and if we can not. If we can not, we tell you why not and what can be done to allow our company to assist you. Most companies won't do that, but we will also give you the reasons why exactly so that, if you should choose a different service, they will not be able to scam you. Now that's a way of saving money too.
I have a service that actually will take you out of the loop of contact with ASC, or Countrywide or whomever you have servicing your loan. All you have to do is tell me how we can help you. By that I mean, tell us what you are looking for us to do for you and we will pursue the help that you want, no matter what. We have all aspects of the mortgage business covered from being a mortgage mediation company, a title company, a real estate company, all the way to having access to attorneys for litigation or help to avoid foreclosure. No aspect of help is turned away.
Let me tell you, most of the customers that I deal with have told me about the fear and the frustration of working with mortgage companies that don't seem to care or give them the runaround. To be totally fair, mortgage companies have their ways of dealing with people. Some are good, some are horrible. But one thing all mortgage companies love is being vague. When they are vague, they don't have to give you information until you ASK for it. How does that help you? How can you try to save your home if you don't know how to ask the right questions?
That’s another reason why I created this company. I take your number out of their "system". When they mail you something, it goes to me. I take the burden away from you so you can live your life without the phone calls and the letters. And the rudeness! Oh, man, if I told you some of the stories I have heard...let's just say, it’s not pretty.
I know that some people are going to look at this comment and go, this guy is trying to drum up business. Well, you're right. But here's the kicker. I used to work in mortgage collections. I used to make the phone calls and send the letters. I used to work around the people that make your lives hell. And I kept asking myself, why? Why are these people not being told about the help that’s readily available? Why are these people not being helped to make payment arrangements that are realistic? Why does this company care more about the money than about customer service when that is supposed to be their primary objective?
That's why I got out. I can not stand collections. Just because they are hiding behind a company name they think that they can say anything or act anyway they like with the customers, being friendly with one and the next 40-50 they can treat like crap. Where is the customer service?
I take all that frustration away from you and create solutions that work. I know that it may be hard to swallow, but I do. I have done it for several people. And I can do it for you too. If you want more specifics or just want to talk to me, call my office at [protected] and check out the website, which is being updated with a few new options available. And this isn't just for people facing foreclosure, people that are current and want to pay off their home early, call me. I can and will help as many people as I am able to. What have you got to lose? Website address is http://www.onlybusiness.com/members/RealtyMediationService...and if not for you, best of luck. In all your endeavors.
mishandling of account
There seems to be a pattern with this company after reading other complaints. I have worked with this company when it was under Unicorn with no problem. My account was paid on time and I paid more than what was required at the time. Two months ago they switched to ChaseHealthAdvance, since then my first bill came late and the second one never came at all. No problems for a year and now that they changed companies there have been two problems in two months. They seem very unwilling to work with me to correct their mistake and keep giving me the delay tactic. I call at the beginning of the month was told that someone would look into the matter and get back to me. No one did! I have called multiply people; I get voice mails, but no return phone calls. There has to be a law firm out there willing to look into this matter, maybe a class action. It seems like this is common practice with them. When you get to the end of your contract that is when they screw up your account and hit you with fees. Could this be the reason why they switched from Unicorn to ChaseHealthAdvance. Are they trying to stay one step ahead of the Better Business Bureau? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY... Dentist offices should not tell their clients to use this company. It reflects badly on them for recommending such a shady company.
Adjustments/corrections can be made by ChaseHealthAdvance. After many phone calls and redirecting, ChaseHealthAdvance stated that they would adjust my account. After dealing with some of the customer service people at Chase and reading many of your blogs I was sure that it was the end and nothing would be done to change this situation. I sent in my PAID IN FULL check and figured I would have to contact the State Attorney’s office and BBB regarding this issue. I paid it off because I did not want this to effect my credit rating. I was surprise when I receive a phone call from Caesar(a manager in the service department). Not that he had called, because he did state that he would call, but after speaking to a few service people yesterday I figured I was be given the slip. I try to treat others with honesty and I am not always sure I get that in return. Caesar stated that he reviewed my case and that Chase would cancel the financial charges. Then he also apologized for any misinformation I may have received from the service staff. He explain that it is a new company and that they were trying to work out any problems whereas to better serve clients in the future. He stated that a refund would be made to me regarding the charges. I am entrusting that ChaseHealthAdvance upholds their end of this agreement and does refund my finance charges. I hope after writing this blog that there will be a honest, good faith effort by Chase, as a result myself and others can continue to work with them and their loan department.
When they even bother sending my statement (which is not frequently, as I've gotten about five total in the last nine months), it usually arrives far too late to mail the payment in with the statement. I've had to just priority mail them a check every month. Add that to the fact that they don't offer any kind of online payment or bank draft, and it's pretty clear that they're just waiting for you to forget one month so they can slap you with a near-criminal 30% interest rate. I signed up with this company because it was the one my orthodontist offered, but honestly, you're better off getting a credit card from a reputable company with some kind of no-interest promotion.
I just paid over $850 in extra fees and interest on a loan from ChaseHealthAdvance. Beware of questionable business practices including delays in processing of your payments, extra fees, changes in your loan due date, huge interest charges if ChaseHealth considers a payment late, non-response to complaints & disputes, poor customer service, and the list goes on. It was like pulling teeth to get a copy of the loan terms and by then it was too late. Be sure to do your research and check for complaints, and the BBB rating before signing up for a loan from ChaseHealth, Unicorn, ChasehealthAdvance or any other name they may use.
I have had the same problems with this company. I made extra payment in a month to cover the next month and they wouldn't except it. I was told I was a month behind and that extra money was just deducted from my balance. I was charged $35.00 for .82cents. I asked to change my payment date and I was told that it would cost me $15.00. I called to speak with a supervisor and was not given the right. Instead I was told that I had contacted them on July 10th about some charges . They called me, and I wasn't given the right to speak to a supervisor. even after I told them I would put it in writing to the Better Business Bureau, nothing was done. This company is a rip-off and physicians that use them should stop, its says a lot about their business.
Agree, chasehealthadvance is taking advantage of every customer and keep charging extra fees. I fell behind on my payments and they put me into a program that it will extend my payoff balance to 24 payments but they have charged me about $175.00 in three months for late fees even though I have never sent a payment late since I got into this program. they are charing $35.00 for phone conversations and $39 for late fees. They are really taking advantage of my situation.
I definitely agree with you Robert since I've gone through a similar situation my self. I was overcharged extra interest even when they have received my full payment for the balance on my loan. It is very unethical business practice and dentists and patients should definitely do their research well before they get themselves into thier trap.
I just got a phone call from Chase and they are terribly unprofessional. Pretty much same issues as above. So how do you do it? how do I tell them that they are not going to get $800 + out of me for finance charges?
I need help, Please!
hi, I had a similar problem with ChaseHealthAdvance. One of the worst comapny to deal with. I signed up with this company because my laser doctor only offiered them and i never dealt with them before, but the customer service at chase is really bad and will never asnwer any questions. First i didn't recieve my statments because according to them they were sending at wrong address and i called in to get them emailed so i won't be late on my payments. So they added $39 dollar late charge and when i called to explain the situtuation they were very rude and unwilling to help. I would never do bussiness with Chase and their late payments department is one of the worst. I really wish this company gets out of bussiness .
I totally agree with you in this matter. If there is something that I can do to make this go away, I would. I just went through the exact same thing, the company sends me a bill and I have not even got the paperwork on the loan. I just received my first bill and it says that I am behind in my payments of two months and I just received my first bill on yesterday, how crazy is that...

Chase is horrible... They never intend to work with you... I had private student loans I've been paying to the best of my ability, which was not good enough for them... They are in humane and don’t care for mankind... And the people who work there are villains...I had three loans they were behind but I was paying what I could the best that I could... These idiots took my money and applied it to just one of my loans stating that since the others were behind they just went into default...Why wouldn't you take my money and distributed to the loans that were behind, as I thought they were doing. They are horrible and a night mare from hell. Don't EVER USE THEM... If I was barely making it paying you what the Heck make you think I can pay it in default…Think people.
