I have unauthorized charges on my CC. I used the service on 9/04 and 9/06. The charge of 5 and 14 dollars were authorized. Another charge of 29 was made on 9/13 that was unauthorized. I want a refund asap and take my CC of your file. I tried to cancel it but your site would not let me... Isn't this committing CC fraud!? My question was answered by Dr. Altman and no where can I find a customer number.
just answer seems to be a scam
I was transferred to Just Answer by a support team member from Gmail. I was asked for a refundable $5 deposit (7th September) but after paying this i found it was a lead in to taking another $73 (taken from my visa account on 10th September) which I refused to do. I cancelled my account and didn't respond to the "expert"
1. I want to be reassured that no more unauthorised money will be taken out of my visa account now that you have my account details
2. I didn't receive any advice
3. It was an extremely underhand system of extracting a further payment without prior clearly explaining what the "advice" entailed.
4. The mechanism for complaining to Just answer directly is difficult to access. I was asked for a further $5 and even more money from a lawyer / expert for information on making a complaint.

On checking my debit card statement I notice you have charged me $48 on 4/7/18. This was on top of the $5 deposit debited on 1/7/18.
As I do not recall receiving a satisfactory answer I am surprised that this amount was charged when I expected a refund of my deposit.
If I recall, I advised you of not being satisified at the time. Perhaps the answer to my question was the information was notavailable.
I would expect a refund of the amounts debited please.
There is a reference on the debit card statement: *TECH HELP CA [protected].
Perhaps I am mistaken, but I don't think so.
I would appreciate your early comments, preferably by e-mail to [protected]@powerup.com.au
With thanks, Jon.

i paid a $5 fee and now my bank statement shows an additional charge of $98, which i did not know about.
hi.
ja: hi. how can i help?
customer: we had an investment loan with me bank for $430, 000.00. we sold our residential home in sydney and moved inot the investment property which is now our residential home. we funds available to pay out the investment loan within days of settling on the sale of oursydney home. i contacted me bank with the intention of paying out the investment loan so as to avoid any additional instalments and save on interest costs and payments. they initially told me i could go to my bank (anz) and perform a bank transfer. it happened to be a bank holiday on that day so it did not happen. when i again contacted them, they advise that as it was a fixed interest loan i had to complete a "break" application which took a few days to process. they then sent me a discharge authority which took another 5 days to process. i incurred an additional interest payment of around $1700.00. this could have been avoided with a different system. is there somw way by which i can recover some costs.
ja: what state/territory are you in? it matters because laws vary by location.
customer: nsw
ja: what steps have you taken so far?
customer: none
ja: anything else you want the lawyer to know before i connect you?
customer: not that i know of.

good evening
unfortunately no you cannot recover the interest you paid.
if you had intended to do this your solicitor acting on the sale should have requested the discharge of the loan and settled it at the same time as the settlement.
alternatively you could have paid the money into the mortgage on the investment loan and reduce it and only paid interest on the balance.
then discharged it and paid less break fee as it is based on the amount owing.
the banks have no duty to tell you this and they cannot be liable for not telling you.
have you now discharged the loan and finalised it?
Why was I charged an additional $98 after the initial payment of $5.

chg to my checking account.
I purchased a new cd player, and being from the old school, I though all I had to do was plug it in and put in the cd. That was not the case, so I asked for help from Just Ask on May 29th but didn't get an answer or any contact until the next day, but by that time I had called a company that sold these types of cd players.
and was able to find out what I needed to do.
I was charged the $5.00 and wasn't upset about it, but when they charged my account $46.00 on July 5th, I am upset. I neither need or want an acct with this company. Please refund my membership fee.
Thank You
Joyce Magee

computer support provided by justanswer
When you first agree to ask a questions, you are charged $5.00 and someone asks you a question like "Did you try _______". When you respond they then tell you that the Expert Technician can respond to your problem for $39.00. I called about not being able to get video playback on the Microsoft Edge brower. The first technician, Moses C. immediately sent me the Expert Service Offer and when I accepted it, he asked me exactly what trouble I was having. I told him that I could not play YouTube videos anymore, that just a week earlier, I was able to play the videos (on MS Edge browser). He then asked if I was having audio and video issues. I then got a message saying the Expert could not contact me by phone, but could chat with me. When I asked why, I got no response. There was no response from Moses for 3 minutes so I asked if he was still there. Still no response. I complained of no response. Three minutes later, I asked again if anyone was there. I then cliked on the button to speak to another "Expert". This time Viet sent me the same "Expert Service Request". I told him I would not agree to it unless he could assure me that I would not be charged again. Twice Viet sent me the request and I refused to click on it again. He then said I would not be charged twice. I never had to click on the permission request to let a technician have remote access to my computer " because all of a sudden Viet took control of my screen. I want to interject here that although Viet tried to be slick (and very quick) I watched him give himself a 5 star review before he had even attempted to talk to me. And I mean he did it lightening fast, which makes me think he's done it before! I did not give him that kind of review and would absolutely not after the experience I had with him. I wonder how many other people he's pulled that stunt with! 1st Red Flag!
This Tech did not know what he was doing. Everything he tried, I tried prior to calling your company. It wasn't until he started downloading different browsers (IE & Firefox) that I started to be concerned - 2nd Red Flag! I told him I don't use Internet Explorer. When he could not get the YouTube videos to work in IE, he then downloaded Firefox. When that didn't work, he deleted Firefox. After spending about 20 minutes trying to come up with a fix, he decided that I needed to do a "System restore" - 3rd Red Flag! I asked him why I would need to do that and he didn't have an answer. I told him I didn't think I had a restore point to use, but he brought up 2 or 3 system restore points. I told him that he should go back to 7/18/18 restore point, as I had stated earlier that I could watch YouTube videos just a week to 10 days earlier. I have to say that at this point I had lost all confidence in your technician and I am so thankful that I took screen captures of our conversation (his & Moses'). He told me once the restore was finished that I needed to open MS Edge and try the videos again and if that didn't work then I could contact him on the website, using the same "chat help". After the computer ran through the "system reset", I got a blue screen that said "Critical Process Died". It automatically went to another screen that said "Preparing Automatic Repair". The next screen said "Diagnosing your PC". The next screen said "Attempting Repairs". The next blue screen said Automatic Repair - Automatic Repair couldn't repair yor PC ... When it wouldn't repair, it asked me if I had a boot disk which I did. I put the disk in and got another error that said the "Boot device failed". It then went through the whole process again and was unable to repair my computer.
At this point I was beyond livid. I wish I had never called the "Expert Technicians" who are, as far as I'm concerned, the furthest thing from Experts! I sent a message on the chat screen that I need an immediate call regarding my computer. A "canned response" popped up saying a technician wasn't available and someone would contact me within 4 hours. In the meantime I decided to take my computer to Best Buy to let the "Geek Squad" see what they could do. They did not open until 10:00 a.m., so I waited. In the meantime, my daughter called me from MI and the conversation turned to my problem with my computer. She told me that her husband could probably help me out since he is an expert in computers. Needless to say, the news was bad. He ended up having to do a full factory reset because my computer would not boot up no matter what he did. My laptop is not even 2 years old so there has been no need to have him help me with anything. I ended up losing everything, including expensive software that I had to repurchase (Microsoft Office). RUN, don't walk away from this service. They are not experts, at least the technician I got wasn't. I had to wait another 4 hours before I could call and request a refund for the money they charged. The woman who processed it also asked me if I wanted to cancel my monthly membership. I never requested monthly membership so the tech must have signed me up for that without my knowledge!
technical advice re my computer
on Monday 13th August I requested assistance with a problem I was experiencing with my lap top computer.
You promised a reply within 24 hours maximum. I have received no answer from you despite the fact that you have debited my visa card.
Will you please give me full refund as promised on your
site.
I have used your service before and I would be very satisfied to receive a full refund.
I am a retired professional and not a company.
whirlpool oven inconsistent heat
I inquired about the issue with my oven not holding temperature. I didn't receive a reply. I did however received an email asking me to review their service. I generously gave them a 2 out of 10 and was prompted to an expediting page to expedite my problem. Filled that page out, then nothing. Now I just want my money refunded and I'll chalk it up as a bad experience.
why did you charge me more than what the initial payment which was £38.
I asked about a health issue on Tuesday 14/08/2018 I was put through to a person called Jamie, the answer to my query was abrupt and I felt that he didn't know much about the situation.
On their web page it states that if you are not happy you can ask for a full refund of which when I tried to contact them by email I got no response or reply.
On checking my bank account I found that they charged me two prices instead of the single payment of £38.00 I refute their answer and want a full refund, but like anything they will not respond to my email.
They are not fit for purpose.
price charged for tech support
On NZ Thursday evening (NZ time) I contacted what I thought was Microsoft with a Microsoft Word license issue. Turns out you are not contacting Microsoft as they have independent, remote support people - no problem. However, the price for this, after several in and outs the cost went down to $7 - to which I agreed. Our UK corporate Barclays acoount has been charged £43.61 - which I did NOT agree to. I require an immediate refund to that account please.
Please advise and confirm the refund within 24 hours.
Once that is completed I will need to go back in and get assistance and will assume that this time I am charged the amount to which I agree.
Thanks - Annette
charge for trial period.
I signed up for a trial period for 7 days. I asked one question, receive an answer that was too complicated and thank the contractor and was not able to follow his detailed instructions. I proceeded to discontinue my discussion with the contractor regarding the chirping of my Kidde Smoke detector every 10 Hours.
I then requested by email to end my trial and today I see a charge foe $28.00.
i am dissatisfied with this charge and want it refunded

answering service
JustAnswer charged me $5US(fully refundable?)to enter their services, i asked a computer related question, but recieved only a request for $68US! No answer was forthcoming, and the next day, and without authorization they attemped to remove said money's from my account(which was fortunately locked)! A further $16US was attemped the next day! I'm sure I'll never see my $5 again, or recieve an answer! This occurred on or around the August 2nd. 2018 in Australia! I only want my $5 back as promised, and to warn others of this dispicable practice! No invoice or cliam number has been provided by JustAnswer at any time or in any way! My bank(Commonwealth of Australia)is seeking a refund on my behalf due to services not rendered!
I am providing this information as a courtesy to help mitigate future transgressions!

medical advice
Went online to ask a simple question I had failed to ask my doctor today (and now his office is closed) - gave all the information several times in what looked like a live chat with the PA (although it kept repeating itself - same words - later) and said a doctor was waiting - but first they needed a refundable $5. So I put in my Capital One Credit Card. Rejected by Paypal. Then I put in my debit card. Rejected. I put in my second debit card for another bank - rejected. When I tried to get back to the PA and explained this, I just got in the loop (the doctor is waiting - put in your $5.)
Checked with Capital One and saw that the $5 was pending. Asked them to cancel it. Never got an answer; never got a live response from anyone at Just Answer.

charged my card for subscription without consent
A charge has appeared on my monthly statement for $47 from JustAnswer without my consent. I never signed up for a monthly subscription. This charge only appears on my bank statement, and does not appear on my order history on the Just Answer website. I demand a refund immediately. Charge occurred 7/26/2018. This is a deceitful practice and must be resolved.

? virus being added to my computer
I called on Microsoft to help me and evidently I got someone on "just answer. I am not happy at all. You all charged me 5.00 and then another 42.00 on 7/9/ 2018 and then today I was charged 39.00 today that was taken out of my bank account. I called to get help and I think it is a SCAM and I do expect an answer. I do not want your help any more. I was not told about a Trial period and being stuck with this I think you all misrepresented your stuff and I do not appreciate it. I called to get someone to take what I thought was a virus which was really a scam and the guy did I think help me. He took it off. but now I am charged multiple times for a service that I did not agree to. I did agree to the 42.00. Actually it was a 5.00 charge. The I think there was a mention of 42.00. I know nothing about agreeing to a 39.00 charge and I want a refund ASAP. I want what ever you are trying to do to stop. I do not want your service any more. I do not think you are honest. So please I will copy this and if I have to go to other extremes I will. Thanks I expect a response within 24 hours. I do not want you all to have my email but I want this corrected as soon as possible.

unauthorized membership fee
My credit card has been charged $46 for some recurring membership fee on 07/12/2018 by JUSTANSWER, CA. When I check JustAnswer.com there is no record of any transaction or order. I am absolutely certain that I have not authorized such a charge and definitely never enrolled in any recurring auto-payments.
Looking at other similar complaints it is clear this is a scam. I'll have to change my credit card ASAP.
