JustAnswer cant get refund

I had $23.00 deducted from my Visa for an answer on how to replace a radio aerial on my 1994 toyota hilux. Prior to getting an answer but after $23.00 was deducted from my Visa card my neighbour solved my problem. I immediately advised Just Answer that the problem was fixed.I received a reply saying thats good. Since 1st December 2009 when this episode took place I have sent no less than forty emails requesting a refund, all have fallen on deaf ears. This mob has got to be a real rip off they don't give an address or phone number.
Can you help?

JustAnswer overcharged us unauthorized additional charges

We used their services online on December 3rd, 2017. They answer a question you have and if you are satisfied with the response, you authorize them to charge your credit card a $14 fee. We needed information on our dryer heating element, which they did respond to in a timely manner. We were satisfied with the response and did authorize the charge of $14. When we looked at our bank statement, JustAnswer had actually charged us the $14 fee, five different times, thus causing overdraft fees etc. We are still waiting for them to remove 2 of the charges. Because they are endorsed by the Better Business Bureau, we assumed all would be well. Apparently, we should have researched a little more because now we have seen that they have received many complaints about this same issue. Many people have been overcharged by them and have had a difficult time getting there money back. There is no customer service contact Tel# so you can speak to someone live and so we hope that they (whoever they are?) will respond to us via email quickly.

I had called requesting information to repair my DVD on the Panasonic TV. I was asked how much I would pay for the answer. I agreed with $28. There statement was that I would only be billed when I was satisified with their answer. I agreed, however, no one came on line to tell me anything. I waited for over one and a half hours for contact. I received none. On this months credit card billing, I see where they charged me with $28. So in reality, I got nothing for $28. I think that they should send in a negative charge for $28 to the credit card company. I have been unable to contact them by phone or email. I solicit your help please. Thank You.

I contacted this website when my female husky drank delsym, because they said they had "real" vets with "real" answers..
We asked them what to do blah blah blah and they told us common sence stuff (It was 9pm on a saturday and we have no vets open here on weekends) so we did not accept their answer. Next day, I had a charge from their site.. Fine, what ever... 1 month later, there it is again.. I called to ask why there was another charge, and they told me that I signed up for monthly info! I most certainly did not! That the rude man on the phone proceeded to tell me that if I wasn't expecting to be billed I never should have asked the question and when I referenced their section on no payment for not accepting the answer, he laughed! The only thing "real" about this site, is that it's a "real" scam!
He's refunding me my money, cancelling my "subscription" and I told him that if I see any thing else from them I am charging them with fraud, laughed and hung up on him. The nerve!

Hi, they are scam I asked 1question on 10/10/12 after reading reviews stupidly after I had submitted my question I then called customer service 4 times twice two ladys hungup one lady that I spoke to I asked her about complaints & abot money taken without permission & she said ' yes we will get more money out' and then hungup. This is a very nasty company. I'm just praying that I get my money back & thats the end of that. & once a guy who seemed like he was doing his job properly said that he has closed all of my account & that I should have my money back in 3 - 5 working days so wednesday 17th hopefully in my account & then i'll get my bank to block them from taking my money, it really scares me after reading other reviews I just want my money back & them to hopefully not takeing my money. I'll keep you posted if I get my money back.

I recently used this website to access medical advise and was chargedfor this service, which Was part of using the site. This week they sent me an email asking me to answer a quick survey about the service I received. When I replied and sent back their survey, they then accessed my bank ac again and took another $23 for answering their survey. What a scam! I have emailed them but don't think I'll receive an answer. It is sad to think that a service that has medical Practitioners working for them would do this. I always thought that doctors were ethical people but I have been proven wrong. So Sad

JustAnswer unprofessional

Do not use this service. You will be instructed to deposit the amount that you are willing to pay for the answer and/or homework help that you are requesting. You may be lucky and get an answer to one of your questions which is what happened to me with my first question that I asked. So I started to trust the site and I placed many deposits to help me with other homework that I was having problems finding time to research. Now my money is stuck in justanswer.com, I am not getting any responses from customer service and I have been asking for an explanation and/or a refund for two weeks. This service is a con... do not go there... If you really want some true help with homework and papers you should go to http://www.oppapers.com/search.php this sight will charge you once and you will have a wealth of papers at your hand to read for suggestions and/or hints... DO NOT USE JUSTANSWER.COM

I paid for an answer to a legal question but now find I am being billed again each month for unlimited service which I definately did NOT sign up for. They have continued to draw money from my bank account for several months. The only telephone number I can find is in the States, which is great if you are in the UK. The sign up does NOT say that the fee will be recurring. This is definately an unlawful scam.

I was seeking support for vista. I was asked what I would billing to pay for a solution. $14, $20, $30 . The deposit was required before any assistance was provided. After a few useless suggestions, I had the option to Accept the Answer to validate the charge. Their suggestion was useless, definetely not from an expert so I didnt accept the answer.

They still charged my card, but I called my bank who reversede the charge.

So fukkk them, their crooks. Do not use them

I asked a simple question about printer driver availability for my older printer and new Windows 7 computer. I got a smart reply that my (perfectly operating!) printer was old and that no drivers were available. That was it. I was offered a chance to pay the new low price of $7 for the response, after of course having had to put a higher amount in the "deposit" account. I was charge $16 in March, and then each subsequent month, $9 for 3 more months. A total of $43 has been charge to me, with no other contact with this company, no further questions, other than asking them how to get my money BACK form them. No response of course. My credit card company is disputing the charges for me, but I want my other $9 that was overcharged to me back as well!

I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. Impossible to communicate with them.

I had a question about their fees. I got nothing but a robotic response. I read their "terms and conditions" the phrase "double charge" comes up more than once... Please read their fine print... Red flags!
Sidenote: plentyoffish.com as well as many other web sites directs you to go to this "help" (Justanswer) and pay them $30.00. Because they can't answer / respond to a simple question you submit on line—because they have no "customer service" worth a can of beans.

I used this service, and the answer I received was a simple answer that could be found anywhere for free so I did not accept the answer. However, they will not refund my money now even though their site specifically says that if you do not accept the answer that they will refund your money. This company is a major scam company, and they do not honor what they say on their website. Do not use this site, because they will take your money and you will get nothing in return!

I had an electrical question for a fellow that was a supposed "expert" in the electrical field..."craig" was the experts name... Beware of "craig"... He almost caused me to blow up a transformer I was wiring, by telling me how to wire it without even knowing what it really was... I saw another "expert" with much higher ratings jump all over the screen for it... I just wish I worked with the other expert before I had worked with "craig", because the other expert was right in the questions he began to ask, and this guy "craig" kept repeating the wrong answer... Big mistake. I use just answer frequently, and have no other complaints besides that... I figured it out myself, but next time I use just answer, I will be sure not to use "craig" — he has no clue... And I never expierienced that with just answer before this guy was on that site...

I asked a question on JustAnswer and was asked what amount I could pay - I hit the $15.00 and submitted my question - which the answer was what I already knew - so instead of accepting I replied and received a message that my question had been submitted to experts and I should receive an answer shortly - well I never did receive an answer but they took my $15.00 and overdrew my checking account and my bank charged me additional 36.00 for overdraft. They say the are issuing me a refund but the 36.00 is also their liability - do not use this service at all.. if you need questions answered call your local hospital who usually has an "Ask a Nurse" department---these people are preying on the sick and uninformed and should be put out of business. OK, at first they look legit and answer you back real fast so it seems like someone is actually there. I ask a fairly straight forward question which any "supposed" expert would be able to answer within 5 minutes. 5 minutes later... no response... 10 minutes later... no response... 15 minutes later... no response. SO then i started to get a little suspicious of this sight. One simple piece of advice that i wish i knew at the time JUST ###ING GOOGLE IT. the first two pages are hits talking about the ### this company pulls by repeatedly withdrawing funds from your account even in cases where the account has been canceled. and if that's not enough to shake the tree, there is no way to get in contact with anyone affiliated in any way with this site. Just empty "customer service" links and random dudes named "nick" and "adam" who show up on these forums to try and say that its a simple misunderstanding and the problem is real simple to fix just do this this and this and look at that you're account is gone right? WRONG. None of that ### works. I haven't found one legitimate person involved in this business. I already sent an email to some dummy address probably set up to deal with the mob of angry internet goers but i say its time we organize for some web justice. Anyone whose had a ### experience with this company post below. maybe we can make enough of a commotion to capture this [censored]bag's attention. Hope you see this. Mother ###er.

JustAnswer non - specific advise, vague pricing

On 10/23/09, I asked for help with a malfunctioning cordless mouse on JustAnswer.com. The site made it appear that a person would assist. The "answer" was canned language from some computer guide not specific to my question. The info shown did NOT help at all.

I should've known it was a phony site, when asked which of 3 levels of compensation I was willing to pay. I picked $18.00. Was I a dupe!

I paid with PayPal and have asked for a refund.

JustAnswer took $18.00 out of my Visa debit card account without authorization. They did not help me fix a problem with my Outlook Express 6. They incorrectly represented themselves as authorized Windows/Microsoft company representatives and promissed 100% satisfaction. They will not answer my many requests for a refund. In addition, it is impossible to find a phone number for them in order to lodge a complaint.

The make you give them a deposit to be escrowed which they say will not be used unless you are satisfied.

I will report them to my bank, the Better Business Bereau, and the Texas Attorney General's office. I will ask my bank to go after them and try to get my money back. I have a debit card issued by Chase Bank.

IT IS A SCAM! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

I wanted some simple answers about my dog. Well this seemingly free website had me go through all of the registration process ask my question from their "experts" and then tell me I need to provide a "good faith deposit" which I can not seem to get back. Also I never even got my answer from them. This site is a rip-off and I encourage everyone to stay away...

JustAnswer billed and no service

I needed some advice on a wound my cat received by a raccoon. I needed the information immediately and this seemed like a good option. I asked the question and was asked how much I would pay - I chose 13.00. It directed me immediately to paypal where I paid the amt.In full using my bank acct. Received the receipt and waited. About an hour later I got an email that I had a response. I went to retrieve and it asked me to pay... I contacted customer service and they said I had not paid. Checked paypal and it was received by them - also deducted from my bank acct. I sent them the receipt and went back and forth with about 20 emails. Got no where but the run around. I asked for a phone number - I called, no one answers... So left a message. 2 days later and have gotten nowhere. I am really ticked off - not even just the money - but the principal and the time I have taken on this! Ridiculous... Do not use this company - you will be sorry!

I've used them many times without any issues. You dont pay unless you get an acceptable answer to your question. You do pay a deposit if you want your answer quickly, but the deposit is refundable if you dont get an answer. Simply email them for a refund. First time I used them I didnt get any answer at all and requested a refund, the refund was given within 72 hours. I've used them several times since and was happy with the service. One thing to note, there are good experts and some not so good, they have an option to "opt" out of expert that is assisting you if you feel that they dont have the knowledge to answer your question, this is a great feature, I've opted out several experts that just didn't have the knowledge in my opionion, then another expert came along and answered my question that resolved my boat issue. Just be sure that you are satisfied with the expert that is helping you, or opt him or her out until a better expert answers your question. I hope this helps.

JustAnswer fraudulent company

A google search of the owner Andy Kurtzig will show evidence all he does is start a company and when it fails, his parents bail him out and off he goes to another adventure. He cares less about the turmoil he leaves behind for those who thought they might be able to make some money working for his current fiasco. The site claims they have doctors, nurses, veterinarians, Ph.D and Doctorate holders but before you trust them with anything, read the small print disclaimers. He has no idea who is really giving out those answers. And if you are studying through Penn Foster, they are very willing to sell you all the answers you want. But beware of those answers. If a company is so in need of business they are willing to sell answers to students, that should speak volumes to their credibilty. Ask the students who are spending money and failing tests. Ask Penn Foster if they currently have them in their sights for selling their answers.

Sounds like another disgruntled former so called "expert" if you ask me. I've been an expert on the site for two years and I can tell you that they absolutely verify the credentials of their experts. The have also implemented several knew quality initiatives, such as secret shoppers, peer reviews, moderator monitoring, and much more, to ensure quality. I know of many disgruntled experts who have either left the site voluntarily or been banned from the site for poor customer service, causing trouble with other experts, failing credential verifications, etc. So, it's only natural that they'd spread bs like this to try to harm JustAnswer.

The fine print that says JustAnswer is not responsible for answers and the information provided is general information and not a substitute for informed professional advice is simply a legal disclaimer so individuals can't sue the company if they follow someone's advice and it results in damages. Seems very reasonable to me. Anyone who thinks they should have the right to sue me for $10 million because of advice that they paid me $5 for, is an idiot. If you're looking for someone to sue, then call a contractor and pay $500, which by the way, includes insurance premiums to cover damages from lawsuits.

The bottom line is that JustAnswer experts are experienced experts that usually work in the field for which they answer questions on JustAnswer.com, but we're not "companies." The information we provide is "advice, " that's why you pay a fraction of what it would cost if you called a contractor or an actual law firm. Many people simply want the advice of an expert without the hassle and expense of calling contractors, taking a day off of work to go to a lawyers office, etc.

Right from the comfort of your own home, you can post a question and get responses from the same people you'll usually talk to in person if you were to go to a business. Then, if, and only if, you're happy with the advice, you "Accept" the advice and pay the expert. Yes, you have to place a "deposit" up front, but it's just that, a deposit. It's a good faith thing that let's us experts know that you intend on paying if you receive an answer to your question. JustAnswer understands customers are nervous about paying up front, but at the same time, experts are reluctant to take time to answer questions without some kind of insurance that they will get paid for their time. The deposit system works great. If the customer is happy, they "Accept" and release the deposit to the expert, if they're not happy, they don't "Accept." The customer can either leave the deposit in their account for future use, or request a no questions asked refund. JustAnswer honors their no questions asked refund, 100%. I can tell you that from experience. I get a few payments every month deducted from my account from scammer customers who accept my perfectly legit and qualified answer, and then go request a refund from customer service. Is it frustrating for experts? Sure, but that's part of the business. You have to take the good with the bad, and you have to err on the side of the customer in a customer service oriented business. Even if the customer is wrong, they are right.

And regarding "selling answers to students, " that couldn't be further from the truth. JustAnswer has a "homework help" section. That's where students can receive "help" with their homework. I've helped several students with their homework. We don't just give them the answers for $5. That's bs. We work through the questions with them, explain how to come up with the answer, and then help them arrive at the answer. That's what homework "help" is all about. Do some experts put in more than others? Do some experts cut the "help" part a little short? Sure. That happens. The bottom line is if someone is cheating it's not JustAnswer's fault. JustAnswer isn't standing outside of colleges with signs saying, "Come get your answers here everybody!" JustAnswer offers students home help using a system that's far from perfect in a world that's far from perfect. Some students take advantage of it, and some experts take advantage of it. But, I can tell you the majority of the experts take pride in "helping" students and will refuse to answer if the student seems to just want the answers and doesn't want to learn.

Hopefully those looking for help won't be put off by the few sour grape customers and former disgruntled experts who either got banned from the site because it became obvious that the customer was scamming experts and abusing the no questions asked refund policy, or the in the case of the expert, for poor customer service or lying about credentials. JustAnswer is 100% legit, and it's an awesome deal if you ask me. The best part about being an expert there is having customers tell me how grateful they are at the end of our conversation, and how they've been working on their problem for days, and how the $20, $30, $40 was the best money they've ever spent, etc. It's truly enjoyable to be able to help people like that in a way that's mutually beneficial - they get professional help for a fraction of the cost, and I get to earn a few extra bucks while I'm already sitting at my computer anyway. Awesome service!

I paid them 15 dollars for a question, and got advice back. My regret though is that it would have been sooo much easier to just go to yahoo answers because you get the same kind of advice from non-experts for free. I just want to know if anyone has paid and then found out that justanswer later on continued to take money out of their account. I'm willing to just give up the 15 dollars and tell my bank to block that service to my account, I just want to know if anyone has had problems with large amounts of money being taken out, without any authorization

I read a solution regarding the weeping hole on the water pump of a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L with a solution to change the water pump and instructions on how to do so - for a 3.8L...

Here is what I wrote to them, but wasn't able to submit without providing CC information:

**'Simple Solution' for the 2005 Dodge Caravan 3.3L pump change doesn't work - you need to remove motor mounts and allow engine to drop in order to remove pump even with pulley unfastened and slid back onto pump. The fins on the pump don't allow the pump to drop out/ or the front of the pump hits the unibody - just not enough clearance (and it is spelled 'weep' as in to lose fluid/cry regarding the weep hole) My hubby is a Red Seal mechanic of 25 years, and he told me it wouldn't work but I wanted to try. However there just wasn't any other way to get that pump out in the 3.3L without taking out the pax side engine mount bolts and letting the engine lower - the pump and pulley then fell out on their own. Also it was a 3.3L that was asked about, not a 3.8L as is referenced in the answer.***

I have been an expert there for many months.
There may be 20 thousand Experts who have joined, but at any given time there are about 300 on-line, at this moment 313.

“Prove It or Lose It” has never been used as far as I know but they have a new policy to verify experts, but it is rife with errors, cheating and delays.

As a warning to anyone who thinks of being an expert there: keep in mind that a portion of your answers, tho they may be very good answers, will not be paid. This is not a fault of JA, but is because many customers want something for nothing. They get what they want and stiff you.

As many as %50 of my answers dont pay, for one reason or another.

JustAnswer is the largest Expert answer site with more than 15 million registered users and approximately 20 thousand Experts, who help make sure that their peers are who they claim to be through our “Prove It or Lose It” policy. The five-step screening process is as follows:
1. Tests: We implement tests for each specific category, i.e. A Real Estate Law test that’s different than Immigration Law. Traditionally only 1 in 10 applicants makes it past the test.
2. Stages: If the Expert passes, typically they start off with a limited account that we call “Stage 1”. They have a number of restrictions on their account, which are removed as they progress up the ranks.
3. Peer Reviews: All Experts are evaluated by their category peers.
4. Customer Feedback: If Experts receive excessive negative feedback from customers, they are banned from the site.
5. Prove It Or Lose It: We take a similar approach to eBay®. Suspicious Experts are asked to prove their stated credentials to a third- party credential checking company. If they refuse the credential check or fail, they are banned from the site.

Experts consist of ASE Master Certified Technicians, Automotive Engineers, and other Car Experts. On the right-side of the homepage, under the Meet The Experts column, clicking on See More Experts shows those that meet these qualifications.

I asked a question on www.justanswer.com on 10/29/2008 and was asked what I wanted to pay $10, $20, $30., etc. Only $30.00 and up works on this site. I was asked if I wanted to pay extra and I clearly said NO! But I was double charged anyway and I found out when my credit card statement came. So, on 11/23/2008 I e-mailed them since there's no phone # for...

JustAnswer dog

I was charged twice for one service on 10/20/2008 without my knowing or authorization. I e-mailed for a refund, since they offer no phone # to be contacted, and was told I would receive the refund on 11/23/2008, but the charge is still on my credit card and a balance with them 'that I can use on their site'. I made it clear that i did not want to keep a balance with them and that if I wanted their business again, I would pay for it WHEN I used it.
I feel robbed by this people. I don't trust them, I think they are thieves, and I will never use their "services" again. BE CAREFUL with these scam artists!

Just Answer is an ABSOLUTELY FRAUDULENT WEBSITE, And I intend to expose this website for its Cut-throat and Dog-eat-Dog approach to business! I came in contact with them when I had my email hacked into and could not access my email account on Yahoo. I was very desperate and needed help as I had some very vital information in my email account. Method of last resort - Just Answer - BIG MISTAKE. I read their terms and conditions and something about them did not quite register. I tried to leave the site, but they kept luring me back with more lucrative offers which all seemed too good to be true! They said you could not be billed on Answers that did not satisfy you, and even offered a discount. At one point they even asked me what I would like to pay them. At the end of the day, none of their answers was satisfactory, yet because I had entered my Bank account details with them, they automatically billed me, wait for it - £54.88p - YET NONE OF THEIR QUESTIONS WERE ACCURATE, AND I WAS STILL FROZEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT! My Anger with this Website is the Audacity which which they take out money from people's bank accounts not to mention all the Grief, despite their 100% Money Back Guarantee! I have absolutely learnt My lesson with this Organization, and will ask my bank to initiate a refund action against them! These Cyber-Demons Should be exposed for what they truly are, and ever were - A BLOODY SCAM!

As a member for over 1 year I can saw that JA is NOT a scam. Not sure which BBB practices your referring to, but each of my customers will accept (and pay) ONLY if they want to. Sometimes my answers are not what they want to hear, but they are accurate and where else can you get an answer to a legal question from a REAL BAR CERTIFIED lawyer (like me) for $15?

I wish I had thought of and started the site...but at lease I can work with them :)

JustAnswer Online scam

JustAnswer says that they provide experts all over there site. They even claim on there site that 'Distinct from other answer sites on the web, our Experts are actually doctors, auto mechanics, veterinarians, CPAs, teachers, computer Experts, etc.'

This is an out and out lie to deceive people into paying money for questionable advice. JustAnswer does not ever certify that a so-called 'Expert' has any training in ANYTHING. There terms of service states,

'No Assurances Given From and No Reliance on Term 'Expert' Throughout this Site, certain terms, including 'Expert', 'Specialist', 'Consultant' or 'Advisor' may be used to refer to someone who claims to have certain knowledge, background or experience that may be useful in responding to a question posed by a user. Use of such terms provides no assurance that the person answering your question has any expertise or qualifications to give such advice. You acknowledge that JustAnswer has not and cannot independently verify their qualifications. If you do not like any answer for any reason, your sole remedy is to disregard the answer and not pay for it. Notwithstanding the foregoing, JustAnswer reserves the right, but is not obligated, to remove any content that it believes violates any of these Terms, including, without limitation, any objectionable or personally identifiable information.'

They hide this in the middle of about 5 pages of legal ease. But all over their site they claim that 'their experts' can answer your questions, even stating, 'our Experts are actually doctors, auto mechanics, veterinarians, CPAs.'

More than likely that MD who is answering your question about your childs sickness, or CPA about your sensitive tax info, is an out of work cab driver from Yonkers, sitting in his underwear at 3am, 'googling' some so-called 'expert' answers.

JustAnswer.com doesn't have ANY oversight of their 'Experts' yet makes people believe than they do. Shame on them. Don't give them any of your hard earned money.

Andy Kurtzig, their founder and CEO is a scammer for perpetrating this deception and other posts all over the internet confirm this.

I have read through the comments in this Complaints board for JustAnswer and can say I am not surprised. JustAnswer does charge customer fees without their knowledge and the Terms of Service have purposely hidden clauses, policies and procedures.

Regarding the verification of experts, I am not so sure about anything JusAnswer does is aligned with standard hiring practices. Reading through the comments here and the questions answered on JustAnswer, I am not sure if any expert is an actual doctor. They mostly seem to be people from overseas with no medical license or certification (and likely zero medical training) in the USA. Licensed doctors in the USA cannot legally or ethically provide medical advice over the internet without a real doctor-patient relationship established. Even answering that someone will be “fine” is a form of medical care called reassurance—this is a type of patient care and management. I have had real US Board Certified doctors look over the answers on JustAnswer and they agreed that the experts answering medical questions were “highly suspect.” So the comment above by another poster about the doctor experts actually being out-of-work can drivers may not be so far off.

The class action lawsuit against JustAnswer linked above (on JUSTIA) is just the tip of the iceberg of every illegal and illegitimate business practice committed by JustAnswer!

This company are SCAMMERS! They gain access to your account or your cc and thought a 5€ consultation they start charging you for a membership that you did not sign for! Be very aware!

On the 31st of July I contacted one of their doctors for an online 5€ consultation, it was a quick and simple operation. I used my credit card. Then immediately on the 31st they charged me a further 6€. Now the 4th of August, they've made another charge for 29€ for a membership that I never signed up for and there will be another charge on the 4th of September. You are THIEVES and I will post my reviews on SM, Google and as much as possible. You are stealing money from my card. GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY AND ANSWER TO THE MESSAGE THAT I SENT YOU THOUGH YOUR PAGE. And to other consumers: *DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES*, THEY ARE THIEVES and will steal money from your card or account through a 5€ consultation they will gain access and rob you of your money!

SPA

Hi. I just got a text that I subscribed to your monthly service. I DID NOT GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO CHARGE ME MONTHLY. I went on your site for just one question and paid $5, which I was suppose to get a refund back for and i didn't. Can you explain why your site scams people ? How dare you have my card information and randomly assume I want a subscription for you bogus service.

YOU BETTER DELETE MY CARD INFO FROM YOUR SYSTEM. If you don't, there WILL be consequences.

I signed up for the monthly service for $46 on May 2nd and less than 2 weeks later they canceled my membership claiming that was service rendered even though it had not been a month. They advertise ask any question anytime but secretly the limited to 16 questions Max and will cancel and ban you from their website otherwise. I disputed the issue on the better Business bureau since the emailing them directly was getting nowhere and they said on the BBB they would give me back my two weeks of service that was paid for but that was never done and now 6 weeks later they're charging my card again without any authorization and it's clearly not on a monthly schedule by an error since it's been 6 weeks and I have the emails for cancellation as proof and we'll be going through my credit card company. Shame on this scamming company.

Update: I filed a report to my bank when I saw a second charge weeks later from just answer. I am still banned from website and they lied to my bank about the circumstances and claimed that I cancelled my own membership. This is part of their scamming practice, if someone asks too many questions or has too many issues play me at least cancel your account and send you an e-mail to cover up the lie more. When I posted reviews online and to the Better Business Bureau they admitted that there's a fair Policy Act that they highly exercise and don't advertise and then of course what they do advertise is any question anytime. These people systematically steal money from people and use a bluff every time bedding on who's going to know how to return that money or get it back or who's going to let it go because they don't know their rights. It is beyond me a Better Business Bureau would give these people an A+ when they have literally thousands of unresolved complaints as well as thousands of others on Google or other social media platforms where they accept reviews for companies. A majority of those reviews are people being scammed out of their money. Completely misleading marketing on the website where are they charge people prior to the free trial being over and due to them being unaware of the charges in the first place they don't always catch those charges immediately, I saw a lady's review online where she had paid almost $400 by the time it was realized and they still refuse to give her anything on a refund.

Beware! A Scam and a very successful scam. Charged a simple fee for one question, and then 3x34.00 euros deducted from my N26 account and now have had to spend 65.00 euros replacing the card so that this does not happen in the future. I have been an expert on Just Answer for over 13 years.

Here is the truth about Just Answer.
1. They always grant refunds, if you simply click the refund link and ask for a refund. If you verbally harass the experts trying to help you and the customer service reps trying to grant your refund, and IGNORE the simple refund request link that I send you. You will not get a refund.
2. Many of the customers that come to Just Answer are there to scam the system. You KNOW you cannot get free help from real doctors, lawyers or Mechanics in person. But with Just Answer, people ask for help, know it costs money UP FRONT, then after a sometimes several hour long conversation, AFTER your question has been answered in detail. You THEN ask for a refund, and the company gives it to you every time.
In 13 years time, I have lost over 15% of my pay to refunds that occur sometimes YEARS after the fact. I literally have a refund come out of my pay from a client I helped 3 years prior.
Its not Just Answer that Scams YOU, its you the customer who more often then not Scam us experts by asking for help on a CLEARLY LABELED PAID HELP SITE, and then you only ask for a refund and start complaining about paying AFTER we help you.

Because if you asked for a REFUND before we started helping you, you wouldn't have gotten free help.

My time and expertise is not refundable. And all you people who are complaining about having to pay 1$ or 5$ for the trial membership and the complaining you were charged 40$ later on.

PLEASE go into any Mechanic shop, Laywer's Office, or computer repair shop. And then when you pay 100$ to 300$ for service, then come back and complain about the 5$ payment you paid at Just Answer, and then ultimately got refunded AFTER you received service.

And that is the True scam at Just Answer, the 20% of customers who constantly scam us out of our time and expertise, and only ask for refunds AFTER they received help.

I can understand completely the people who "think" they have reached a free help site, and then after they enter their credit card ( How on earth can you possibly claim you didn't know you were about to pay for help when you are asked for your Payment information?)
But realizing your made a mistake, you immediately ask for a refund. I have no issue with that. By all means, you deserve a refund.

But there will always be those people who go to a restaurant, sit down, order a meal, and then incessantly complain AFTER they eat the meal because they KNOW the manager will probably give them a refund.

Seriously. Don't be an online Karen. If you want a refund, ask for it BEFORE you have a three hour conversation.

And if you are complaining about paying anything under 50$ to talk to real, lifelong career professionals any time 24/7. Then you must be one of those same people who go out to eat and then leave a 1$ tip.

My 20 years of expertise and knowledge were not gained so that I could give away my time and expertise for free.
How about you go work for free, at whatever Job you do, and then you will have the right to complain about paying for help and assistance.

;)

You're right, nothing is really free in this world except kindness honesty a few other virtues. But at the end of the day customers deserve to know that they are actually going to be charged and that they have to take an action in order for their cards to discontinue those charges monthly. It is a clickbait setup that advertises that we only pay a dollar for one question and then after 5 days they charge your card $46 every month and many people are not aware of this because it's in the very tiny fine print of the terms and conditions when you do the $1 charge. It's extremely misleading and although I do agree that customers should not be able to contact you years later and get a refund that's absolutely absurd but customers a majority of the time are being sucked into a $1 fee only to find out they're being charged 46 times more. Not only that but when people request a refund they don't always get that refund and they have to fight their Banks and they have to file reports because I've seen thousands of cases where that is exactly what happened. You have a fair argument on your side when it comes to customers canceling getting refunds and Etc but a majority of these complaints are by people who are not aware that they were going to be charged monthly outstanding fees. There's a program that monitors people's usage like when they ask a question how many questions and of course it keeps record and documentation, what's beyond me is that they don't use the same program to confirm that someone only asked one question or that they didn't use the service for 6 months in a row and we're not aware that they were being charged in the first place. The guys above you are stuffing their faces with all of this dirty money they get to keep on default because they know the merchant account and financial system much better than most people and that in itself is an abusive power and privilege.

If you don't use or need Just Answers services, after the 7 day trial, then you should not legally have to pay for them, even if you were unable to call their number to cancel within 7 days. In my case I was fighting for my life and had to leave to stay alive. They don't hear any case by case basis for granting refunds. They simply don't care about people. It's all about scamming you out of money.
If a policy is not customer friendly, safe or good for the customer then it should be amended or dropped. After all we customers are paying for them to be alive, food, housing, clothing. Customers are suppose to come first and they don't with Just Answer. The refund policies prove they don't care and are only out for financial profit for themselves, even if it is unfair to the customer. Bad business. I feel ripped off of my money for nothing. Why would I want to pay them, who have given me a hard time?
I wouldn't. I want a refund. Plain and simple. Rip off artists. Don't invest. Just Answer is a scam.

Just Answer - this site is a fraud. Be very careful when you give your credit card details, they will double charge and mark it as 'recurring' expense and bill you till the card is replaced. Customer care is useless as they give a standard answer that one should be careful before signing up. Be very cautious, do not part with your credit details at this site, you'll regret.

JustAnswer Vet advice hurt my dog

Dr. Wade should not be offering advice on this website! The advice was absolutely wrong! My poor dog is now at the vets. She has been vomiting non-stop since 2 hours after giving the aspirin.

I am worried sick I may lose her. We are waiting for the blood work to come back to find out how bad it is. I will never trust anything I read on the internet again...

Dr. Wade (If he really is a doctor) told me to give my dog aspirin which can be lethal if combined with rimydyl... The drug I stated she was on. I was unaware of this fact and gave her the aspirin. Now she is critically ill.
=
Dear surfsista,

It is not uncommon for dogs to have pain at the injection site, it will usually subside in a day or 2 after getting the shots. Try to avoid petting or touching the injection areas. You could give a small dose of aspirin tonight if needed. For a small chihuahua I would give a 1/2 tablet of the 81 mg aspirin will a meal, not on an empty stomach. If the dog is restless with the vaccinations you could also give 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of liquid benadryl.

Hope you dog gets to feeling better soon.
=
Dear surfsista,

It could be any of the above. I would do the aspirin tonight and get her into the vet tomorrow to have her checked out unless it resolves with aspirin.

Best wishes,

Please press accept if you find my answer helpful. Feedback and bonuses for good work are always appreciated!
Thanks for the opportunity to help you!
=
I just gave less than a quarter of a 325mg regular strength aspirin. She weighs 9.5 lbs. I hope I did not give her too much? I gave her around 75mg. Is this too much for a 9.5 lb dog?
=
I just looked up rimadyl and aspirin it states you are not supposed to mix the two. See above where I gave her rimadyl about 3 hours ago. I just gave her aspirin with it... About 75mg.

I'm very worried I have overdosed her!
=
No response from dr. Wade
=
Just as a follow-up to anyone reading this website. I ended up calling the animal poison control hotline and it was a good thing I did.

Mixing rimadyl with aspirin is deadly. Not only that but I found out the rimadyl prescription was too high a dose for her and the aspirin I gave was too high as well...

The poison center instructed me to giver her 1/2 of a 10mg pepsid 2x a day for 5 days and 1 teaspoon of magnesium one time only. The vet told me to take her off all medicine except for the pepsid. If she shows signs of stomach problems (Not eating, vomiting, diarrhea) or has black tarry stools, she will need to see a vet right away. She will not be out of the woods for 3 long days. She may develop a serious ulcer from this mistake.

I feel so bad that I made this mistake! This is a very good example why you should not follow internet advice online! Had the vet who responded here actually read what I wrote above "I gave her a pain pill rimadyl and flagyl." he would not have instructed me to give her an aspirin!

I only pray she does not have damage to her stomach from this serious mistake.

This online service is majorly flawed, do not take any advice offered here...

=
Now my dog is at the vets undergoing tests for severe stomach distress. I'm worried sick.

As an update. Bella had many issues, not just the Rimadyl and Aspirin, although they were contributing factors.

After many tests and thousands of dollars later, it was determined that Bella had disc disease and required surgery. She is recovering and doing very well!

Still this was a lesson! Do be very careful taking any advice on the internet and do consult the animal poison control center

I find that this company, having my credit card details, deducted $45.00 from that account, without any reason or me asking any question, legal or otherwise, and I want a refund.

I think I used Just Answer once and and paid for it. I never authorized recurring payments on my credit card ending in 0798. I want this stopped and refunded for October.

I went on this site one time and just found out they are continuing to charge me. I have not been on this site any other time than the one time. I had asked a medical question and got the same answer(not even helpful) from the same doctor over and over again.

No authorisation has been given to take a membership fee of $62 from my visa account. One question was asked regarding health. I paid the $5 deposit, then a further $43. Did not even get a satisfactory answer, only an answer to call the doctor for another fee. I do not wish to use any further services from this company. Please refund my $62.
