Car hire 8093 LXH Majorca
Hello,
On 27th June I hired the above car from Palma airport. When I collected it and test drove it around the car park the car stalled straight away. I re-tried but had the same problem. I re-entered the office and asked to speak to an employee. The lady on the far right hand desk said the gentleman from the cabin in the car park would come and speak to us. I explained the issue and he drove the car too. He had to really accelerate when pulling away to stop the car from stalling. When I asked if that was right he said that's what you need to do with this car, the Jeep Renegade. Still feeling uncomfortable I drove round the car park to familiarise myself but it did not feel right.
As the gentleman said this is what I needed to do I trusted his expertise and we took the car away.
We drove only 132km and the car broke down on a major road. The car had to be towed back to K10.
I have since received an invoice for 1200 +
VAT EUR to replace the clutch.
It turns out the car was not fit for purpose and the gentleman's advice was incorrect. K10 had a duty of care to provide a safe car but failed their obligations. I should not be liable for the clutch replacement which was clearly faulty on this dangerous car at the time of collection.
Ezequiel said on Monday by phone that he was going to get a copy of the CCTV camera footage from the car park to prove what I am saying and also speak to the gentleman in question. He quoted 1-2 days for this. It is now Friday and there is no response.
I have sent emails to multiple K10 email addresses but they are all being ignored.
Please can somebody respond so that I can avoid raising this as a chargeback claim with the credit card company.

K-10 are breaking the law, scamming and show abusive behaviour to their customers.
During our hire with K-10 our car had an engine fault and the engine blew up and left us with a car kicking out black smoke and without power. This car had not been checked or serviced as it was clearly unsafe to drive and left us is a traumatic situation and ruined our holiday. We called K-10 who told us we would not pay for a rescue truck and would not pay if the car was fault due to engine problems.
K-10 then left us on the side of the road for 2 hours in the heat, refusing to answer our numerous phone calls for updates, even when online they would choose to ignore us.
We were finally picked up and given a new hire care, where again told we would not pay for engine issues/repairs or the rescue truck. Our new car was given to us with flat tyres and no water.
The next day K-10 tried (with out discussion or proof) to take out £1200 from a card they DID NOT have the rights to have on their system as it was not used for deposit. When the money bounced back they continued to take out more money in £1200, £500, £200 each time, trying to steal money off a bank card. This is against the LAW for a company to try to take different amounts of money from a card they had not been given rights to use and to try different amounts without giving us a clear break down.
Again K-10 ignored our phone calls and would give us not explanation as to why they are trying to take money from us.
We arrived at the office hours early on our drop off after talking to an employee who told us a manger would meet us to discuss those issues. No manager ever arrived, we waited 3 hours.
The employee Mohammed Benfares then tried to charge us £180 for the rescue truck (again we had been told we would not pay this, to which we have proof of voice recording from previous conversations)
We explained politely how we would not be paying this after everything we have been through and K-10 continually going against their word to claim as much money as possible. He then told us he could not close our account/contract until his manager was in tomorrow and told us to come back tomorrow- knowing full well we had a flight to catch and had already requested and been told we could speak to a manager. Mohammed Benfares then became verbal aggressive towards us (all captured of voice record) where he shouted at us to leave his office and that we were ‘drama queens’ shouting on repeat ‘get out get out’
I can only explain this company to be disgusting. The service we endured is repulsive and they are scamming people out of money by trying to not give deposits back/refunded and trying to take money from situations where they are putting lives at danger from their crap cars.
We have expressed to K-10 we will be taking legal action for what they have done, but again, no manager has responded.

I have been charged 1200€ deposit and they actually took money from my credit card on 14.04.2017 i bought extra insurance to cover excess for 40€. The car was returned on 19.04.2017 and inspected. K10 was happy with condition of the car so there was no charge or problems. I have been told that monet will be refunded after 7 days and today os 28.04.2017 and i did not get the money back. It's 1200€ ! I have called k10 and i have been adviced about additional procedure that theu have to check records if the car have not been involved in any accidents. Impossible as car was not damaged and it is a first time i have been told about it.
I am very worried about my deposit!
If anyone had similar situation and could reply i would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks fro your complain. Unfortunately, we also had issues with the K10 in Ibiza. We got our PHONE STOLEN by them in Ibiza.. It is a terrible company and I want to sue them and destroy their reputation, ideally to close them down. Since there are so many people affected in one or another way I think we should unite and open one case on behalf of all, this should have more power than individual cases/emails/calls. They told us stright to the face that they don't care about anything, it made me even more annoyed, companies like that cannot exist!
All the guys who have issues with K10, please write me and let's act together.

had to pay extra for out of hours pick up from airport just after 8pm...there was just a shipping container for an office...the carpark was completely dark, i could not see if the car had any existing damages, had to get my mobiles light to shine on it. the inside of the car was wet...
The real problem is the non-returning of my deposit. I am already paying 34 £ for credit card charges. I rented with Do-You Spain as the broker, they assure me the deposit has been returned but it has not.
I do not need this headache
