KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen cabinets

I purchased kitchen cabinets from KraftMaid Cabinetry, Inc on June 1 2008 with lifetime warranty. Now I have a problem with some doors and drawers. The cabinets are made with thermofoil finish and now thermofoil is peeling off. I contacted the manufacturer with a request to replace the defective doors and drawers and send some photos of the damage. My request was denied. I had same problems with this kitchen cabinets but different doors and drawers in the past. And it was handled very well. Not this time. It’s clearly a flaw in the manufacturing process. For some reason they don’t want to honor their warranty.

Desired outcome: Replace defective doors and drawers.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Safety issues middlefield plant 2, tall slots,

You can see in these pictures attached that not only my safety at risk, but the safety of others in the plant as well. The walk-ways are blocked with carts. My view is obstructed, can't see see if anything is coming before stepping out from behind carts. The pictures also show that the crown I drive is sticking out in the roadway while I unload material from sleds, because there is no room, I also have to exit into on coming tow-motor and crown traffic. I really think these things need to be taken care of before myself or someone else gets injured. I have been asking leads, management and higher-ups to address said problems and I keep getting the same response, "we are working on it", well it's been at least 14 months this has been going on and still nothing is being done.

I'm planning sending the attached photos to OSHA as well.

Thank You.

Hi Keith, Sounds like you had to get serious with them and your safety.

I have an issue maybe you could shed light on.

Kraftmaid has been advertising drawer bottoms made from 3/16 plywood forever, at some point they switched to laminated MDF.

They sent me a kitchen with almost 40 drawers of the stuff.

Can you tell me, did they do this because of Covid19 in 2020 or how long ago did they make the change?

KraftMaid Cabinetry Correct shaker drawer fronts on our kitchen island have not been delivered - please read the information box.

I was referred to you by Home Depot in Missoula, due to an extremely delayed and problematic delivery of Haywood Evercore Drawer Fronts in the Harbor Suede color. The order number for these drawers is H3102-132.

We are remodeling our kitchen, and I ordered all of the kitchen cabinets for this project from Home Depot, who supplies your KraftMaid cabinet products. Our contractor started putting in our kitchen in October of 2022. When the new kitchen was being put in (Oct. 2022), it was discovered that the drawer fronts on the island were not shaker drawers, which I had asked for when designing the kitchen. Instead they were flat drawer fronts. (The rest of the kitchen was shaker, as well as one cabinet on the island). I brought this to the attention of Home Depot. They put in for a reorder of the drawer fronts at that time (October, 2022). They came in about 5 weeks later, but they were the same drawer fronts that were already on our island. We brought them back to Home Depot, who then put in another order for the shaker drawer fronts. Again, the drawer fronts came in weeks later and were the same ones that we already had. So at this point, we had put in an order for shaker drawer fronts for our island three times. All three times, the order came in incorrectly.

This time, Home Depot assured us that it would be correct. The shaker drawer fronts were supposed to be delivered at the end of March, 2023. This did not happen. The ETA was changed to April 19th, 2023. It is now April 25th, and the drawer fronts have not been delivered to Home Depot. They are telling us that they should have been delivered and do not know where they are at. I was told that they have contacted you and that you are looking into it.

I'm contacting you because I am very frustrated with this process and would like this to be taken care of immediately. We have spent thousands of dollars for these cabinets and put our faith in both KraftMaid and Home Depot. I do not want to wait weeks and weeks again for these shaker drawer fronts. I am trusting that you will take care of this immediately. Please respond to this email as to what your plan is to take care of this problem. Thank you for your time

Sincerely,

Laurie Sherwood

Hi Laurie,

My name is Arthur

We also re-modeled our kitchen through HD this year, 21k worth.

So I installed the cabinets, mostly drawers around 40, put Quartz on top, nice big island.

Hooking up the sink water got into the cabinet and one of the drawers, no problem for plywood, the cabinet was fine but the drawer lifted like particle board.

Per KMaids spec. book, available online to download, they specify 3/16" plywood, I guess during covid when prices went up they switched and decided to not tell anyone.

I have went round and round with the depot, kraftmaid rep. etc, they are now trying to say MDF is considered Plywood, so I talked to the media Friday 8-4-23 abd have also spoken to lawyers on the matter.

So I would imagine your bottoms are MDF as well, if they get wet they will expand and deform.

Please let me know if you would be interested in speaking with the media and/or lawsuit.

Thank you, I hope you resolved your issue by now.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen cabinets

I have 14 out of 18 kitchen and bathroom vanity drawer fronts that are not flush with drawers. The screw placement in the brackets prevents any adjustment. I have contacted Kraftmaid about 9 or 10 times now without any solution being offered. The "customer care" frontline use the photos and my descriptions to find ways to deny claim due to shipping or installation problems. This is a gross error. The cabinets came from factory like this. It is your workers who made them this way. These are not cheap ready made cabinets and should be treated and solved as the CUSTOM cabinets they are. I paid dearly for these cabinets and expect them to be to a standard as such. Have not received emails, texts or phone calls from Kraftmaid expressing any interest in resolving this issue. I will have to eat my words and UN-recommend Kraftmaid products to all my rich friends! My claim and case #s [protected] 009300/[protected]. OH WAIT, I just got an email with a new case number [protected]. Does this mean im starting over...?!?!?!?!?!?! NO NO NO, Follow thread from first case number!

Desired outcome: I want you to get these fixed. OR send CASH to be compensated for contractor time as well as the aggravation of having to call numerous times to get this resolved.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Poor glazing

I ordered cabinets with the finish of canvas with Cocoa highlights for a new cluster home I am having built. I noticed when they were installing the cabinets that the glazing on the cabinet doors and drawers was a tan color instead of being darker brown which that’s what Cocoa Is supposed to be. Also there are areas where the glazing should be and it is missing all together. I understand different lot numbers and finishes can vary from the sample piece but this was very drastic in the color differences for the glazing. When I contacted the company I purchased the cabinets through they came out to the worksite and took pictures of the cabinets and sent everything into a Kraftmaid representative who intern said that the glazing on the cabinets is up to their standards and there’s nothing they can do about it other than sending me a glazing pen for me to go over the glazing myself to get the desired finish. Very disappointed in the company I purchased the kitchen and bathroom cabinets through since now they are avoiding my emails and Kraftmaid for not working with their customers. Once I moved in to the new home I was going to go back to the same supplier and order Kraftmaid cabinetry for an island in the kitchen and cabinetry in the laundry room, after the way I’ve been treated I will go elsewhere and purchase another brand, such as Aristacraft which I have had in previous homes, it comes in the same finished with the same highlights and everything was spot on as far as correct color of glazing.

Desired outcome: To have Kraftmaid send someone out and go over the glazing to achieve my desired finish.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Whole kitchen cabinet order

I ordered all of my KraftMaid kitchen cabinets from Home Depot in early September. Four pieces arrived incorrectly made, one made poorly, and another two were damaged. I placed a reorder and waited as long to get them as my original order. The reorder was split into two different deliveries. The first delivery of three pieces arrived with two of them still made wrong. The second delivery was sent to the Home Depot instead of to my house. Home Depot was kind enough to say they would deliver them to me, no charge. But, before they delivered them I had them look at the three cabinets, and two of them are damaged beyond use. I am looking at another reorder, and significant time lost. My contractors and cabinet installers had to be put on hold and I may have to find new ones because now their schedules are full, or I will have to wait even longer for them to be available for me again. This has cost me a lot of time and money. I had as many cabinets installed as I could two weeks ago while waiting for the reorders, so I have something of a kitchen to use. Today, only two weeks after having my partial order installed, one of the upper cabinet's plywood ends has already started to delaminate. This cabinet will now also have to be reordered on a separate order. What if more start to fall apart? I have been in communication with your Customer Care Team, and Home Depot through all of this. Your Rep. has never reached out to me once. I have emailed and sent private messages to KraftMaid Cabinetry through FB as well concerning all of this.

Desired outcome: So many cabinets made wrong and the process for resolution has cost me a lot of additional money. I want a significant discount off what I paid. I want a rush on my reorder, and to receive them once and for all.

I have a complaint open with the BBB and also exchanged emails with Jackie Calloway from ABC action Tampa.

The BBB just contacted me and Kraftmaid sent a response saying again that MDF is plywood.

Maybe you can talk to Jackie at the BBB and file on my complaint or open a similar one, maybe email Jackie Callaway too, she starts hearing from numerous people across the country it should help.

Hopefully some other people contact me and we can get a group together.

Text me when you can or let me know what your thoughts are here. Thanks

Yes, I would also be interested in talking to the media and class action. They can't keep getting away with this! I have tried to message HD Corporate and Kraftmaid Corporate with no success. They do not respond back to me. My HD store is trying to bat for me and I was offered a very minimal amount of money as a refund. Some covered by KM, and some from the store. All together the amount was insulting, and I insisted on more. They came back with a slightly higher amount of a refund. Still not happy with this...

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kraftmaid kitchen cabinet order through home depot

I was a Kitchen Designer for Home Depot for many years, and sold KraftMaid cabinetry to many of my customers, by relaying how good their product was as well as their customer service. So, now remodeling my own kitchen I chose to purchase KraftMaid cabinetry for my own kitchen. I am now ashamed of the recommendations I had made. KraftMaid has been a nightmare. Not only have they incorrectly or poorly manufactured seven of my cabinets (and another two arrived damaged) but have taken a HUGE amount of time to get replacements to me. They literally require as long to get replacements to their customer as the original order. Yesterday, they delivered three of my replacements, and two out of the three are made wrong AGAIN! The rest of my reorder I was told I will not receive until at least the 23rd. All this from my original order placed in September! A recent email relayed to me directly from KraftMaid said that the rest of my reorder, WILL BE DELIVERED TO THE HOME DEPOT AND I HAVE TO GO GET THEM! These are not little cabinets. They would need a large truck to be loaded into. So, If KraftMaid makes your cabinets wrong, you become their delivery company and the money you paid to have them delivered doesn't matter. I feel really stupid for my decision to use this company. I'm just posting this so if any of you want to make a cabinet purchase... or if any other kitchen designers or potential customers have to choose who to purchase from... protect your investment and/or reputation as a designer, and DO NOT USE KRAFTMAID! Avoid them and use a different cabinet manufacturer. You (or your clients) will avoid these delays, headaches, lost time, and get better customer service. The emails they have replied to me in regard to this whole mess have shown ABSOLUTELY NO REMORSE OR COMPASSION for the situation they have caused. Not to mention the time, money, and grief their company has caused me with delays for my family and necessary contractors. They have never offered so much as a penny compensation for all the incompetence and inconvenience their company has exhibited, but rather, further thrown the responsibility of getting my replacement cabinets in my lap. I still haven't even received the rest of my reorder. They have turned my dream kitchen into a nightmare. Please share this review with everyone you know to protect them from the mistake of choosing KraftMaid cabinetry.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen cabinets

We received our cabinets in September. 50 percent of them damaged. We’ve had 3 reorders now to get all new drawers and faces bc poor craftsmanship. Again they were wrong and the Kraft maid rep came to my house and agreed they were wrong. Another shipment comes in and missing half of the doors and again damaged product. Going on round 4 now and won’t get until end of December.

Desired outcome: Refund to start over with another cabinet company since we can’t get through to kraftmaid waiting on phone for hours with no getting through and lowes keeps saying they’ll have a manager call

KraftMaid Cabinetry Bathroom vanity

I ordered a 48” bathroom vanity, partial overlay in maple with Praline stain in June for over $1600. It was delivered in August and installed on the 23rd. When the contractor removed the shipping tape, the wood was splintered on one of the vanity drawers and the mechanism which holds the drawer on the runners/glides fell off completely. On both drawers, the maple front pieces were glued on crookedly so they didn’t sit flush with the cabinet front. Small pieces of wood from dovetails and unknown plastic bits also fell off. The vanity drawer can’t be installed without the bottom mechanism to hold it.

Next, glides for one of the roll out trays were of mismatched size (too long) so the cabinet door couldn’t be closed and the necessary center stile mounting blocks were not included so neither tray could be installed.

After a month and more than a dozen emails to Lowes and Kraftmaid, a new set of correct glides was sent with more wrong mounting blocks so the trays still couldn’t be installed. Two weeks later, the correct mounting blocks arrived but the mounting holes were improperly drilled on the front wall of the vanity so that the tray sits crooked on the glides and sticks badly. Finally, 2 sets of roll out trays were shipped, even though I wrote to stop it because I needed new vanity drawers and not more rollouts. I’ve sent multiple pictures of the problems, including the broken mechanism sitting inside the vanity drawer but Kraftmaid customer service said I sent a picture of a roll out tray? It’s now been two weeks since anyone has responded from Lowes or Kraftmaid, although I’ve offered to send additional pictures and return all the faulty and incorrect items, two months waiting for drawers to complete the project.

Desired outcome: I would like to have two new, unbroken vanity drawers in maple with praline stain sent that have the maple fronts attached evenly so that they are flush with the cabinet face.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen Cabinets

We are in month 24 of a kitchen remodel with Home Depot. I selected Kraftmaid cabinets due to their reputation for quality. Ha! We are now in round 4 of cabinet door reorders. Warped doors and cabinet panels, offset miters, miter gaps, bumps on the doors themselves, chewed up shelves (dull saw?), replacement doors with random exterior holes in them, and even worse miters than the original door problem are a few of the issues. (not counting the doors coming in the Wrong size---Home Depot order error?).

I asked at the beginning of the cabinet install to have a KraftMaid representative sent to our house to look at the cabinets we had received. I was continually stalled because Home Depot did not want to have a rep. out until the install was complete. Of course this action only delayed the ordering of more doors. I asked the KraftMaid representative about the manufacturing margin of error and quality control since these doors were not the quality I expected. He did not know.

Now, two years later I once again received a replacement door that is of poor quality. The Home Depot designer and his supervisor inspected the 4 new doors we received. One door had a perfect miter on one side and a gap so noticeable on the opposite corner that they took a picture of the doorfront and back and sent it to KraftMaid. The response from KraftMaid indicated that the door met specifications, and was within parameters since the miter on the BACK of the door met smoothly! What? I was appalled at this answer.

I am unbelievably disappointed in KraftMaid. I would not recommend them for consideration in a kitchen remodel.

Desired outcome: I would love quality cabinet doors without glaring imperfections on the public face of the cabinet. I would also like acknowledgement of the problems we have encountered.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Cabinet delivery delayed until way past time 7pm instead of early morning. Nobody at house.

Purchased through Home Depot order H2671-197063 on 8/13. Delivery was to be on 10/6, then delayed to the morning of 10/7. We have no idea where they are, cannot track them or get a new delivery date. Contractor is there now to do the job.

After being on hold for over 25 minutes, they switched me to a customer service survey and then told me to have a nice day. Others have also reached out to the customer service line and have not been able to get someone to answer the phone.

Desired outcome: I want my cabinets, which were ordered and paid for. I want them to be located asap and an expedited delivery arranged to correct your mistake.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kraftmaid Kitchen Cabinets

I ordered kitchen cabinets in May 2021. I received first set of cabinets in September 2021. I received 90 percent of the cabinets damaged. I tried to return the entire purchase and was told it was under warranty and i needed to stick with what i bought. Since that date, i have received over six shipment of cabinets. The cabinets are below quality that i paid for and i feel forced into keeping them. It is April 2022 and i still do not have a completed kitchen. I paid 19,250 for cabinets that are worthless in my opinion. Beside the poor quality, the pain and suffering, the inconvience my family has been through, the stress of paying hard earned money for this below quality material has weighed down on me. It has also interferred with my job, where i have had to take hours working with the contracters over the past 8 months! i really feel helpless and would like to get my money back!

Desired outcome: I would like to be remimbursed for the amount I paid and suffering of having lived without a kitchen since September 2021.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen cabinets are damaged/defective

After spending $13k on kraftmaid cabinets from lowes, 100% of my order was damaged and they are refusing to replace and/or reimburse me for the cabinets. The cabinets have paint splotches, uneven paint job, cracked joints, and various other defects. They are telling me that this is 'standard'. On top of all of that their customer services sucks! Going back and forth with lowes/kraftmaid for the last 6 months and now I was told if I wanted a better paint job I should have purchased the cheaper mdf line? How does that make any sense?

Desired outcome: I just wanted to have the damaged cabinets replaced but after stringing me along for 6 months, I now want a FULL reimbursement!

KraftMaid Cabinetry Cabinets

We ordered on 03/22/2021 Kraftmade cabinets (Deveron Maple order number [protected]) from the Lowe's at the 18303 Rim Drive, San Antonio, TX 78257. We paid Lowe's designer $80 to build our replacement kitchen cabinets. On 07/01/2021, our cabinets were delivered and arraignments were made to install them.

1. Upon installing the cabinets, we noticed that one cabinet was missing. I attempted to notify Lowe's unsuccessfully, however we did reach Kraftmade and they informed us that it was on backorder until 07/29/2021. As a result, since Kraftmade didn't inform us that a cabinet was on backorder, we will have to pay an additional service fee for the electrician to return to install the under cabinet lighting.
2. One of the painted doors had a 2" knot on the face, requiring a replacement door.
3. One of the glass door face cabinets was missing the left side holes for mounting the shelves and missing the holes to mount the hinges, requiring replacement (still haven't received replacement).
4. One of the glass door face cabinets was sent with non-painted shelves, requiring replacement (still haven't received replacement).
5. Lowe's designer forgot to add the code MIP for the non-glass front cabinets. As a result, 4 out of 8 upper cabinets are not painted underneath. Designer had to order paint (still haven't received paint) to apply underneath the 4 naked cabinets. This will not, no matter how it is applied, match the Kraftmade quality or have the applicable warranty.
6. Lowe's designer didn't customize the appliance cabinet. Specifically, the size of the openings for our three appliances, although he had the make, model and dimensions, forcing the installer to cut horizontally holes, which removes all the Kraftmade painted surfaces. In another issue with our installer, they butchered the face of this cabinet, requiring another cabinet replacement.

In conclusion, I've been patiently waiting 126 days for our kitchen cabinets and not sure how much longer we will be waiting. I'm willing to pay for the materials, however it isn't fair that either kraftmade or Lowe's receives any profit from me for this service.

We ordered kitchen cabinets 4/1/21 from Lowe's, Watertown, NY, and on 5/3/21 were given a delivery date of 7/13/21. I confirmed this date a couple weeks prior to 7/13. When we did not receive a call by 3 pm on 7/12, I called customer service and was told there was a delay and they could provide no more information. I spoke to Blake and a supervisor. It is now 7/15 and we still don't have a delivery date. I have spent the past three days contacting logistics, Kraftmaid customer service and Lowe's. I even called Kraftmaid corporate office. On the rare occasion that I actually had the opportunity to speak with someone or receive a call back, no one is able to tell me where my cabinets are. They are "in transit" and I've been given two locations of the final destination, Albany or Syracuse. It wasn't until I was able to speak to someone at the Albany location that I was told they no longer service our area code and as of last week those deliveries were being off loaded in Syracuse. We currently have no kitchen at all because our project was a demolish and we scheduled everything around the 7/13 date. This is not only extremely inconvenient but is costing us money every day this is delayed. We are beyond frustrated.

Desired outcome: Delivery of cabinets and compensation for inconvenience and delay

KraftMaid Cabinetry bathroom cabinets

I recently received 5 cabinets from your company that I ordered from Lowe's in estero fl, 4 out of the five had damage, now we waited 6 weeks for them, so lowes ordered parts and 2 new cabinets, and mind you we had to fix them ourselves, we received the 2 new cabinets and there were problems with them also, now we have had to put off construction of our room 12 weeks, lost are first carpenter to another job, it held us back from our counter top and carpeting. We ended up fixing the cabinets ourselves so we could finish our remodeling and get it done. Now I think either you or lowe's should compensate us for what we have gone through, money should be taken off our bill would be the fair thing to do. I would appreciate a response asap so I know where I stand on this issue.

Desired outcome: compensated

KraftMaid Cabinetry Kitchen Cabinets

We ordered our entire kitchen, including a large island through Lowes with Kraftmaid custom cabinets. The order was place in early January 2021. Our cabinets were delivered on March 6th. We started the install and quickly realized that several of the cabinets weren't square. The top tier wall cabinets don't match up with the bottom tier wall cabinets and they stack on top of each other. When the fronts are matched up, the sides are don't match. In other words, Kraftmaid doesn't know how to make their cabinets squared. To make matters worse, these are end unit cabinets so there is no way to hide these huge gaps. So far out of the first 6 boxes that we have opened, 4 of the cabinets in those boxes are either built incorrectly or damaged. We have 34 more boxes of cabinets but as of right right now, 67% of our cabinets are garbage. This is a cabinet company that obviously has zero quality control. $33, 000 worth of cabinets and this is the quality we get. Absolutely unacceptable! How does this company stay in business? We boxed everything we've opened back up and are requesting to have all 40 boxes picked up and all of our money refunded. We are waiting on a response from our Lowes designer, but in the meantime, we're out God only knows how many more months without a kitchen. I will never buy Kraftmaid again or recommend them to anyone.

Desired outcome: Refund for all of the cabinets.

KraftMaid Cabinetry Replacement pull out wicker baskets

I purchased my cabinets and accessories about 15years ago. I have 2 heavy duty pull out wicker baskets that over time are now broken. I called and asked if they could be replaced, and they sent 1 basket that is not as durable as the 2 that I had purchased. I called and asked if they could send me something more durable and they replied no that this all they had. They also said that there wasn't anything more that they could do! These wicker baskets each cost approximately $135.00/each. I should not have to purchase them out of my pocket considering that they were covered! I am enclosing 2 attachments the 1st one is my basket and the 2nd is the so called replacement. Can someone please address this matter at hand, and get back to me please. Thank you for your time Carla Leary.

KraftMaid Cabinetry cabinets

My cabinets are peeling. It is more than one cabinet that is peeling. I also have a drawer that bottom is falling apart I have tried emailing company and also twitter. No one seems to care. The cupboards weren't cheap. They should not be peeling apart is my opinion. I can submit pictures if you would like to see them. I have 6 cupboards that look awful because of the peeling
