Gas attendant
Left my car at a pump filling while I ran inside the store for five minutes. Attendant very rudely told me that I couldn’t do that and I’d be liable for any spill over. I told her I would not do that next time and disagreed about the spill over (saying that it was Kroger’s responsibility to maintain the auto-stop latches on the pump). She pretty much...

Evening manager treated me like a criminal
On tuesday, match 15, 2022
I was treated like a criminal by a manager who threatened to call the police on me when all I did was try to use the bathroom while homeless. (a manager I never saw before with a tattoo - of a dollar sign, I think - under his rights eye.)
I shop at this location nearly every day of the year. I don't spend as much money as some other customers, but I wager I do spend more of my money than they spend of theirs at this location. I have been a loyal customer here since the dearly '90s and I haven't broken any laws since 1995 when I was 18. I am now 45 years old. I am homeless, but unlike many others in my situation, I do not drink or smoke or use drugs of any kind ever and certainly not in the store I depends on ever day. A store that I think of as mine and as such treat as if it's mine. I have never been approached by management before, because I don't cause problems, I don't leave a mess and I often leave things cleaner than when I arrived.
I recently lost everything I own in a fire started by someone outside a tent not too far from my own. I lost my camp spot and now I am forced to carry my sleeping bag etc with me everywhere I go, which makes me look even more homeless and draws attention. I know this makes me look like other homeless people who do break the rules and laws and use drugs in the bathrooms at grocery stores, but I don't deserve to be treated a certain way because I resemble a certain group of people. I don't want those people doing that in my store any more than you do, and prob'ly even more so because it makes all homeless people look bad and threatens to make my already stressful situation even more difficulty.
At approx 8:45pm on tuesday, match 15, 2022, I entered through the west end of the store near the deli pulling my rolling duffle bag with my sleeping bag inside, like every night since the fire on feb. 25th.
I looked at the sushi and the salads and decided I would use the bathroom before buying dinner.
When I got to the bathroom only one of the stalls had toilet paper and two of the toilets looked liked they wouldn't flush, the strall with the paper was over of those, so I took the paper from that strall and into the cleanest one of the three.
It's not easy to fit my rolling bag into the smaller stalls with me (I leave the accessible stall for those who need it for more than convenience), so it takes a little longer to get situated in the stall, at which point I take the time to wipe down the seat, using a couple of wadded-up seat covers or toilet paper.
Then, just as I turned around and was going to sit down, I heard a voice saying that the bathroom was being closed for cleaning and everybody needed to exit the restroom, so I squeezed myself and my bag back out of the stall, washed my hands and, after wiping the counter, I left the bathroom without a word. This was about 8:50pm, because I texted my friend about it at 8:53.
I grabbed a basket from outside the self checkout and went back to get the sushi crunch roll I looked at before and a discounted superfood salad, then got a small box of donuts and walked down to the "day old bread" rack (just in case there was something good) and a kombucha.
After I paid for these at the self checkout I saw the person who asked me to exit the bathroom so he could clean, and, assuming he was done cleaning, I went back to the same stall to do what I was there to do before but again before I could sit down he was in the bathroom again, this time right outside the stall asking me why I was back in the bathroom after I was just in there (I wasn't just in there, I banner out and did my shopping before I went back to give home time to clean) and I reminded him that he was the one who asked me to leave so he could clean up and that I hadn't been able to use the bathroom before so I came back to do that. He then told me thety I was spending way too much time in the bathroom and threatened to call the police.
It was at that point that I left the stall and followed him out of the bathroom to try to resolve the issue by speaking to him directly.
I was angry about the implication that I was doing something wrong and I cussed at him, which he didn't deserve. But then I asked him to check the camera footage so he could see that I wasn't in the bathroom for an unreasonable account of time, to which he replied that there are no cameras and he doesn't need to see any footage. He informed me that they cannot allow people to "do those things" in their bathroom and that I wasn't supposed to take merchandiser into the bathroom with me. I pointed out that the footage would show that I went directly to the bathroom from the self checkout, where I paid for the merchandise I took into the bathroom with me, (the second time - the first time I went to the bathroom, I was only carrying what I came into the store with) and I said that that policy is about un-paid-for items. He said it still "looks suspicious".
He told me he didn't want to argue and again said he would call the police, "for arguing?" I asked. He never asked me to leave the store or told me why he would call the police.
I told him that I don't drink or smoke or use other drugs and that i'm not arguing but saying that it's not okay to accuse people of doing things they didn't do because they look a certain way.
Another employee apologized to me and said that if I wasn't doing anything wrong then he's sorry I felt like I was being accused of something I didn't do. I thanked him and went back to the bathroom.
This time, after I finally sat down, I heard talking outside the bathroom and someone saying that they were told I was in the bathroom for a very long time and they heard suspicious noises like rattling and cans then someone entered the bathroom and knocked on the stall door and asked me what was going on. I told him I came in the store and went to the bathroom but left before I could use the toilet then did my shopping and came back to use the bathroom. He told me I had 15 minutes and then he would call the police. I thanked him and finally was able to do my business. I walked my hands, wiped down there counter and left the store.
I shop at this store every day of the week and this manager made me look like a criminal in front of other employees and told them directly that I was doing something wrong and these are people who see me every day and i'm afraid this is going to change the way i'm viewed and the way i'm treated when I shop here. (I get enough of that kind of treatment outside of fred meyer because i'm homeless. I shouldn't get that from employees representing a store where I am such a loyal customer) this is my home town and this is the store i've been coming to since I was 14 yo and I have never felt unwelcome here until now, which saddens me greatly.
I recently lost everything because of the actions of other homeless people and now i'm afraid that i'm going to lose another invaluable resource (fred meyer) because of what other homeless people have done, and I don't deserve that.

Was charged for Items that I did not order or receive
On 3/9/22 I ordered my groceries from Kroger and they were delivered on Thursday 3/10/22 between 2-4pm with the instacart Boost program.
I checked my receipt online later that day and noticed that there were extra charges on it for items I did not order or receive.
I called customer service [protected]) the next day (Friday 3/11 about 4:20pm) and had a lot of trouble just understanding what they were saying and actually had to call back a couple times just to be able to hear them. Anyway, I told the lady about the items that I was charged for and did not receive. I figured out that the amount of those Items that I was charged for was 15.25 plus any tax I was charged.
She reluctantly said she would put a credit in my cart for 14.00... not the amount I was charged. I told her I had figured the cost to me was 15.25 plus tax. She argued with me, saying they don't return tax. I got upset with that answer. She put me on hold about 5 minutes, then came back saying she got the tax refund approved plus an amount closer to the actual amount I was charged . They would put 17.00 in my cart, all i had to do is "on my next order is click on this, click on that,. type in a note under Special instructions..." What? This is too complicated.
Why can't they just refund this amount to my kroger credit card that I used?
I am not sure I will be able to figure it out of how to get my money back.
This system is too confusing !
I am still upset about this... I got no apology for this happening, I didn't get anything extra for my time and trouble of having to deal with this.. She was almost rude about it, as if this was just my fault. That attitude was very disturbing.
So if I don't order from Kroger instacart next time, then I won't get back the money they owe me? I mean I'm considering switching to another grocery order service.
Desired outcome: I would like my money plus an extra incentive to be refunded to my kroger credit card. I would like an apology.

I have not taken any action. I just thought that you might want to know

I just bought some Kroger rice pudding because they were out of the other brand name one. I used to buy it but have been getting the brand name because the price difference isn't much. Well last time I had it, it was fine and now I swear it is rice soup. I've never seen anything so watery and disgusting. I seen this complaint and felt like it was me that wrote it!

Pharmacy requests
I have been getting estradiol patches for over 2 years now and have always used a certain brand manufactured by "Sandoz". In January of 2022 I received a brand manufactured by "Mylan". I noticed a horrible rash with itching after the first 48 hours and I noticed they only stay on for 2 days and they are suppose to stay on for 7 days which means I run out of patches before the month is out which means insurance won't cover a new rx before the 28th day which means I am not getting the full amount of estrogen. I asked the pharmacy after getting the same patch in February why did the switch and was told Sandoz is expensive and they probably won't be getting them again and they only get what corporate sends. My doctor sent a new RX with brand name only "Sandoz". When I went to pick up the new RX, it was the "Mylan" brand. I refused it and asked if they could read the notes my doctor out in for brand only. I was told they can't specifically order "Sandoz" brand they order the patch and get what corporate sends. You mean to tell me a patients allergic reaction and not getting the accurate amount of medication is not priority? I need this fixed.
Desired outcome: I need my Kroger pharmacy to get the brand that my doctor specifically prescribed.
Insufficient Staffing
For the past eight years I have shopped regularly at the Kroger store in Mt. Zion, Illinois. It is inevitable that whatever day of the week, whatever time of day, the number of people running cash registers is absurdly insufficient to manage the long lines of customers trying to check out. Yesterday I waited for 40 minutes just to check out because in spite of lines 10 or more people long there was only one person running a cash register. I'm sure the immediate excuse for this is that these are difficult times for maintaining needed staffing, but the fact is that there were (as always) many Kroger employees at work in the store. Is it really possible that there is no plan for cross-training employees to be able to run registers during periods of particularly high traffic?
This is so irritating that I am now resolved to avoid shopping at Kroger in the future. I would rather drive 50 miles to the next town to shop at a competitor than put up with this consistent lack of planning and basic service.
Desired outcome: Staff your stores effectively! Demonstrate even the most elementary level of flexibility in attending to customer needs and reasonable expectations.
nondelivery of entire purchase order
I received a notice that my groceries had been delivered but the delivery is nowhere to be found. I have been home all day so if it was delivered I would have noticed . Order Number: [protected]
March 2, 2022 I ordered a few items for delivery. I received a notice that a couple of items, 24 pack of ice mountain water and Lays wavy bbq potato chips

Desired outcome: Please refund my 58.24 since I didn't receive anything.
Everyday paper plates 400 ct. Quality Guarantee
i purchase this product a lot. In order to get the full 400 ct. use of the package, i have to spend almost a half hour pulling apart the plates. Kroger store in Saint Albans W.V.
I am a loyal customer at Kroger stores. I moved to Saint Albans 6 months ago and have had the worst experience at the Saint Albans store. The employees are rude and there are never any shopping buggies. I was there last week and there was 5 of us women looking for buggies. I ask 3 employees to help find some for us. One guy told me to go look on the lot. I did but couldn't find one, one employee just gave me a dirty look and walked away, the other employee said " Sorry everyone steals them". I had to go to the South Charleston Kroger. I don't think they care if you shop there or not. If the buggies are being stolen, then they should be brought in more often and locked up at night. If they don't have enough, the manager should order some. It is also the dirtiest Kroger I've ever been in. I don't like to complain, but I shouldn't have to drive further to shop and I'm sure you want your customers in Saint Albans to be able to have a good experience in all your stores. Thank You
Kroger fuel points... Cannot redeem kroger reward points
February 11, 2022
RE: Kroger Fuel Point Problem – Loyalty # ##########
Beginning in January, I have NOT been able to redeem all of my Kroger Fuel Points. For example, when I punch in a discount of 40 cents into the pump screen, it only gives me 10 cents at the pump. I’ll attempt to explain what we have been thru with this problem.
In September 2021, we applied for and received a Kroger Mastercard, under the promotion that gives back 55 cents per gallon for a year. This is working at the pump, so that is not the problem.
On January 24th, I stopped at the Kroger # 620, in Jasper, Georgia. Knowing I had 300 points to use up, I entered 30 cents on the screen, but as I was pumping fuel, I realized that I was only given a discount of 65 cents. (55 + 10 cents redeemed = 65 cents) I thought I must have done something wrong and continued pumping about 25 gallons of diesel in my truck.
On January 31st knowing we had points we needed to redeem, we went to our local Kroger # 408, Canton, Georgia and again, I could only redeem 10 cents. My wife called Kroger support after that to report the problem. The general feedback we got was that we weren’t working the fuel pump correctly, even though I had been redeeming points for months prior to this problem.
On Wednesday, February 9th, I went to Kroger # 419, Woodstock, GA. KNOWING we had a problem, I paid close attention to what I was doing at the pump. We had 1200 Kroger fuel points, so I punched in 40 cents, so with the Mastercard 55 cents & 40 cents worth of redeemed points, I should be getting a 95 cent discount. Again, the pump only gave me 55 cents + 10 cents = 65 cents. I pumped like $1.00, just to have a ticket for proof.
I then went to the attendant, named Haley, and Haley came out, did all the inputting at the pump and again…. Pump would only give me 65 cent discount. She had no answer. We thought maybe it was giving me the new 25 cents Mastercard discount, then the 40 cents for redeemed points, but later when I looked that the ticket…. I was getting the 55 cent Mastercard discount. I didn’t pump any fuel and drove on home, with my low fuel light coming on, which meant I was close to empty.
We called Kroger at [protected] and spent three (3) Hours on the phone with a young lady that tried to help us. Personally, I think tech support just didn’t believe her and did nothing to help resolve the problem. We were told we’d get a call the next day, and its Day 2 now… no call. She gave us a Support ticket # [protected]. She said she would credit us 500 fuel points for our trouble, but they haven’t appeared on our account yet.
On February 10th, I went to Kroger #415, in Alpharetta, Georgia. My wife accompanied me to document what was going on at the pump.
First, we used the Mastercard bar code to attempt to get the correct amount of redemption, at this point I again was punching in 40 cents. (55 Mastercard + 40 cents redemption = 95 cent discount). I pumped $1.00 to have a receipt that showed I only got a 10 cent Kroger point redemption.
Second, I used my alternate ID code to sign into the pump. Again, I tried to redeem 40 cents and only got a 10 cent redemption for a total of 65 cents…. Not 95 cents. Being my vehicle was on empty, I pumped in 27 gallons of fuel.
Third, as proof we were doing everything at pump correctly, we took a video on what we were doing on input screen. So, if anyone wants to see that we can email it to support.
We then went into Kroger and talked to the Manager, Jonathan. He looked up our Kroger points and listened to our information and agreed with us. But he said, we’d still have to call Kroger and he didn’t have a way to push this issue further along.
So, we waited for a call from Kroger, which hasn’t happened yet, thus causing me to write this letter. This used to work as advertised. Please resolve this issue.
Feb 13th, 2022 at 8:36AM _ Message Left on Phone
Hi, this is a Margo Concord Bedford connect and I'm looking for William this person visit for this week with regards to the email that you sent regarding the field point. If you wanted to call us back, please call this phone number [protected] and you can provide a case number [protected]. Thank you so much for choosing Kroger if you have a great day. Bye for now.
Feb 13th, Returned call to [protected] at 9:05AM… after 30 minutes, realizing this was going to be a repeat of previous calls, I asked for a supervisor. Angel, then took the call. She told me this had been forwarded to IT on Friday, so nothing will be done until Monday by the AT department.
Lady on second call could not pull up a Support # [protected], nor did she find the Support # [protected] from 02/09/2022 call.
Feb 14th, 2022, stopped at Kroger #680, Canton, Georgia to get fuel for wife’s car. Again, we entered .40 cents to be redeemed and again we were only given 10 cents off in Reward points.
Feb 16th, we have still not received any support from Kroger on this problem.
Today I looked back into my old Kroger Mastercard bills and now I suspect that December 13, 2021 was the last time a ticket shows getting a 95 cent discount at the pump.
Tomorrow, Feb 17th, I'll again go to try to redeem points at the pump, but having gotten any response from Kroger, I'm not optimistic of the result.
Desired outcome: I would like the Kroger Reward Points system to give me points at the pump as it is suppose to do. A Kroger Cash Card to make up for the $$$ I lost by not being able to redeem the full fuel points I was due at pump.
You have to select all your options from the KEYPAD below where you put in your payment card. Your problem is that you tried to select your choice by pressing a button on the SCREEN.
Don't worry, this is a common mistake. Maybe now you'll learn how to do it correctly and get your points.
I am having this same issue in Indianapolis. Last evening, I tried 3 times to use my 700 reward points w/ my Kroger Mastercard. The pump would only allow 10 cent redemption. I think I am doing something wrong, so, three times I canceled the transaction; then it locked out my card and would not accept it again. The attendant who did not know how to help me said I would have to wait 5 minutes to be able to use it again. I went back 20 min. later and it still did not work. Two hours later it still was locked out. After 3 hours and numerous calls to Kroger and U S Bank (the card co.) no one could help me. They kept telling me to call the other. This afternoon 10-31-2022 I went back and the card worked but still would only give 10 cents discount. Damn!
It is now April 18th. Again I went to fill up my truck. Kroger in Jasper, Georgia.
At pump, under new pump display, shows $0.00 for March, $1.05 for April ( which conflicts with my Kroger Award online total of 538)
Followed the screen commands, scanned my Mastercard code, and when it asked for me to put in amount for rewards points, I put in 40 cents. Again, it only gave me 10 cents off pump price.
This complaint is now 90 days old
Its a national problem I'd suspect for months...

I have similar issue with Kroger gas pump. I have a lot of points from Kroger and tried to use it at the pump. 2 weeks ago I noticed that beside the first screen asking which option you'd like to choose, there's a second screen (confusing and unnecessary) asking you to input the amount you want as discount. At that time the screen flashed away in 8 seconds, shorter than I'd be able to read the entire thing, so I missed the opportunity to enter anything. It gave me a 10 cents discount, despite that I picked '$1 discount' at the first screen. Last week I tried again, this time I picked '$1 discount' on the first screen, then typed 1 on the second screen, it STILL only gave me a 10 cents discount. And when I hit 'cancel' it says' cannot be cancelled at this time'. It was very confusing and frustrating, the gas station attendant was friendly but not very helpful, had no idea how to make it work. I read a few online articles, and found out that they have done some unnecessary software change to the pump, to basically make it impossible for customers to use the points. I don't know if this is Kroger's way to deal with recently rising gas price. They claimed that they changed it to allow customers to choose whether to use last month's points or this month's points, so that customers don't loose the last month points. This is so unbelievably stupid as it used to automatically deduct the older points anyway. I do believe they are doing this to decrease the amount of discount customers are getting, which is very, very petty.
Purchase of fuel/charges
Last night I was checking my weekend expenses on my bank
account. I noticed $125.50 charge for Kroger fuel and another charge of $20.52 also for fuel, all on same day, information etc.
Needless to say I was upset because I assumed that my card had been compromised.
I do not take long trips; I know that I have not charged/nor do I spend $125.50 for fuel for a very small car. However, I did spend $20.52 for a weekend trip; the amount of $20.52 purchase filled my car for a round trip fill up using my bank card.
Anyway I spoke to the bank this morning regarding the charges.
I was informed that they have been receiving calls from other bank customers noticing an extra set of “pending charges†after purchasing fuel at Kroger.
They spoke to a Kroger employee and were informed that Kroger in Portsmouth, Ohio has implemented a “pending charge plus the actual amount purchased†of fuel. Therefore the customer has 2 “Kroger fuel chargesâ€, mine was $20.52 (correct purchase amount) plus a “$125.50 pending charge†to my bank account.
The bank said the “pending charge is then removed from the customer’s bank account within 24 hours.
As I write this, the $125.50 pending charge has not been removed, the fuel I purchased was Friday, 02/12/2022!.
My bank said that they’ve had a number of calls like mine with the same complaint pattern.
Their suggestion is contact Kroger and have them explain “WHY, and also throughly check your bank account statement for anything unusual, call the bank.
As a Kroger customer I dislike this process of the “extra pending charges†for fuel as in my situation. I think it’s dishonest and frankly to others unaware as a Kroger customer of this change without informing the public. A “pending charge of $1 to $125.50 may be insignificant to Kroger but to me and others NOT.
The policy of “pending charges†is used by the hotel industry and customers with reservations are informed as reservations are made by a customer until their “hotel checkout dateâ€.
I may be one customer but I will certainly voice my complaint to others and take my fuel/grocery business elsewhere!
My other complaint is the purchase of “gift cards†from Kroger and receiving fuel points. I purchased gift cards as Christmas presents for family totalling about $100. I was told that Kroger does not automatically add the fuel points as advertised by your company. Apparently the customer had to make a request to the “gift card companyâ€. So far it’s been useless attempts.
Desired outcome: An explanation of this “pending charge†charge for purchase of fuel or whatever else Kroger charges and regarding the “gift card purchase, receiving fuel points†at time of purchase.Thank youGloria Horsley

Our family has been customers at this pharmacy for 15+ years, but have decided to change our prescriptions to another pharmacy due to the staff's attitude. Huggies
I have loved shopping at Kroger for years now. I live almost an hour away and still do my major grocery shopping at Kroger. However, a recent issue has changed my feelings. My daughter is expecting my first grandchild later this year, and we also love and use Amazon's coupon site. There was a promotion for Huggies diapers, if you purchase 3 packages (I believe it was 3 anyway). We tried several different locations and each time we were told they only had one pack of the diapers, so the promotion was void. I spent an entire afternoon trying to get some of these diapers, even driving an hour to one location to pick up an online order, only to be told they had one package! I am extremely calm and patient, but this was ridiculous! Why did they not tell me BEFORE I drove an hour to get there that they only had one package. Why run a promotion if you aren't going to honor it?...because I have a VERY hard time believing that EVERY Kroger we checked only had one package. I don't believe it for one minute...just too convenient and too much of a coincidence.
But I did find out that it wasn't just me and my daughter who had an issue. Many people were complaining that they were told the exact same thing...that all the locations they checked only had one package...they didn't believe it either!
This is NOT the way to do good business!
