While some praise the high quality and excellent customer service, others express concerns about the high prices, product quality, and service issues. If you value quality and service, it might be worth giving Publix a try, but be prepared for potential inconsistencies.
Rude employee
I sent in an order for a whole sub, turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and double cheese and double mayo, when I got to store there was half a sub with a full sub price on it, and on the ticket it said whole. I asked a young man about it, he didn't say one word, didn't smile, say sorry nothing. He grabbed the sub went to the back room,, came back never said anything and started to make another sub, finally handed me the sub, I said thank you and he rolled his eyes, so I asked him his name, he Bryan or brandon. I got home, the sub had no cheese, no olives, no mayo I was so disappointed. I love my Publix and was so upset this happened.

Publix Super Markets Complaints 306
Dear CEO Kevin M*****, On June 7, 2020, I was unable to drive to your Baldwin Park pharmacy due to a recent surgery
Dear CEO Kevin M,
On June 7, 2020, I was unable to drive to your Baldwin Park pharmacy due to a recent surgery. As a result, I sent my nephew to pick up four prescriptions. Your manager, whose name was not provided, charged $12.73 for one prescription and $22.51 for another. I contacted Publix Pharmacy to complain about the overcharge for these two prescriptions. According to my prescription plan, the maximum cost per prescription should be $3.60. However, when I brought this up to the pharmacy manager, they informed me that they do not accept returns and that the prescriptions were not on the formulary.
I explained to the manager that I have been a loyal customer of Publix for over 50 years and that I was not asking to return the prescriptions. I simply requested a refund for the amount charged above $3.60. Unfortunately, the pharmacy manager refused to provide a refund, stating that my nephew was asked if he had any questions. However, my nephew informed me that he was not asked about the price and, being unaware of the $3.60 limit, he paid the amount charged for the prescriptions.
Mr. M, you and I both know that asking questions does not pertain to the price, but rather to the information about the prescription and its use. Isn't that what your brochures indicate? When I mentioned this to the manager, she rudely responded by telling me to get the prescriptions elsewhere. She was unhappy with our conversation and abruptly ended the call. Despite my efforts, the unnamed manager refused to refund the amount exceeding $3.60.
I asked the manager if she knew the name of the CEO of Publix so that I could address this complaint directly. She replied that she did not know his name. I expressed my disappointment, stating that if I were the CEO, I would have fired her for not knowing who she worked for. I also informed her that I would no longer be using Publix for my pharmacy needs and that I would discontinue my grocery shopping at Publix as well. I requested that she review my purchase history, which would reveal numerous transactions, particularly in the pharmacy department, where I have been a loyal customer for many years.
Mr. M, it is evident that Publix's profit has increased by 28% due to noticeable marketing changes and recent price increases. I, along with many others, have observed several changes in Publix's operations since 2018, and they have not been for the better. These issues, coupled with the new rudeness exhibited by Publix employees and the overcharging of senior citizens, raise concerns. Please refrain from attributing price increases solely to Covid-19. Stock prices that fluctuate drastically within a day cannot be solely blamed on the pandemic; it is simply a matter of greed.
One must question whether this new approach is worth the negative sentiment towards Publix, its investors, and its customers. I urge you to reflect on this statement the next time you and your unnamed pharmacy manager prioritize profit over customer service and fail to inform customers when pharmaceuticals are not covered by the formulary, resulting in higher prices being charged without their knowledge.
Please cancel my Publix synchronized pharmaceuticals, remove my email address from your records, and cease all correspondence from your mailing list.
Sincerely, [Your Name]

Subject: Concerns about Fluctuating and Deceptive Pricing on Online Purchases
Dear Customer Service,
I recently made an online purchase for groceries, but I encountered some issues that I would like to bring to your attention. Firstly, I noticed that the prices of the items on my grocery list kept changing. Most of the time, the prices were increasing, which was quite surprising. Additionally, despite requesting the removal of a duplicated item, it was not deleted from my order. Furthermore, I received items that I did not even order.
Another problem I encountered was regarding the delivery charge. I was initially informed that I would not have to pay for delivery because my total amount exceeded the required charge. However, none of these inconsistencies make sense to me, and as a result, I have decided to cancel my membership with Publix immediately.
I received two receipts, one from Publix and the other from Instacart, with a total amount of $199.89. If I had known that the charges could be altered after submitting a receipt, I would never have made the purchase. I have attached a copy of the Instacart receipt for your reference.
I would like to express my disappointment with the fluctuating and deceptive pricing practices that I experienced. As a long-time customer, I have never been so upset with the tactics used to deceive customers. I consider this to be poor customer service, and I will be reporting this issue to ComplaintsBoard.com. Furthermore, I have canceled the payment on my credit card for the requested amount of $235.00 and will not make any payment until the issue is resolved as indicated on the receipt.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt resolution.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]

3/23/2024, I have been ordering subs for a while. I was waiting patiently for my turn. 2 people cut in front of me. There was no sense of urgency. Each person making subs was talking nonstop ignoring the long line. I clocked one of the people making orders and it was at least 10 minutes for one sub. NO SENSE OF URGENCY. When I finally ordered a whole...

I called the pharmacy on Thursday to find out when the meds for my husband would be available to pick up and was told it should be 5:15 EST. I went to Publix and waited outside for a few minutes prior to entering the store, which was store #1448 located in Inverness, FL. Before getting out of my vehicle I put on a mask, due to me and my husband had been...

The Public located at The Village at Millers Chapel in Conyers GA change the majority of the staff. since the old Pharmacist left, I found myself having problems to get my medicine to treat my diabetics. I have not received my Trulicity since December 2023. I missed picking up the order and the staff told me the medication was sold to someone else. Now the staff said "There is a shorter" of the medicine. I also get Jardiance; they said I got a supply for 90 days. They did not give me a supply for 90 days; they give 30 days and in a bottle from the pharmaceutical without a label. I have been with this store for 18 years. I am requesting an investigation.
Desired outcome: I want the signing labels to specify the medication I am signing for.I want for the medicine not to be sent back and have consideration. If they tell me the medication will be available 1/5/ it should be there.

I wanted to cash in lottery ticket and I had a winning ticket. I gave it to cashier named Aaliyah and she threw it in the trash without checking the ticket. Nasty attitude and bad customer service. It seem these people have a problem with me every time I come in this store. They need better customer service training. Publix at 100 w. Oakland Blvd Wilton Manors Florida.
Desired outcome: Customer service need to pay attention to their job and stop being disrespectful to customer.
Cashier service
Cashier Christie needs more training on how to treat customers with respect. She's unfriendly and has a poor attitude. We're an interracial couple and she stared us up and down as if we're some kind of science project exhibit. She also aggressively pushed our items on the counter to be bagged. Thank you for taking the time to review this complaint.
Desired outcome: she needs more training
Presto debit request not authorized
On Friday 8/04/2023 I attempted to use my debit card for some pescriptions at your pharmacy. After two attempts were declined I paid cash. I then attempted to use the same card for my groceries at check out. (Silly me for thinking it would work). Not only did I hold up the checkout line before again paying cash, but it was embarassing. After arriving home I checked my bank account and found there were more than ample funds to pay for both of my purchases.
This has happend to me on a previous occasion and I thought it might have been a glitch on my banks part. I had a new card issued and was able to use I at Aldi, Costco, and Sams with no problem.
I think it must have something to do with Presto and I would appreciate your checking for me and see what the issue is.

Publix Branded whole milk and Chocolate milk.
I purchased Milk, both chocolate and white whole milk that was Publix branded. The Chocolate Milk had a expiration date of July 3,2023 and was sour by June 27th. Tossed 3/4 of the half gallon. I also purchased a half gallon of Publis whole milk with a expiration date of July 12,2023. That half gallon is going back to Publix today!. I shop at the Apex location in Tampa. This issue has been going on for years now on and off at this location. It got a bit better after they installed a different type of cooler to keep the milk in at this location. But now back to soured milk days before the expiration date. There is a breakdown somewhere between the milk pickup at the farm and the finished product at consumer level. I purchase milk at Winn Dixie or through Kroger delivery with no issue with their SE Grocers or Kroger branded milk. In face Winn Dixie SE Grocers branded milk will still be fresh for a few days past the stamped date.
Desired outcome: I want the milk replaced at no cost to me and I want Publix to take this issue seriously and find out where the breakdown for this issue is and address it.
Deli employee ricardo
Hi shopped at my neighborhood Publix quiet offer and usually gets a salad from the deli. It gets quiet busy at time for salad and subs. I had a check returned for $28.99 on March 30 from your Glenn Lakes store. I found our about it on April 25 while in the store your policy did not allow me to pay but your management assisted by providing your Cirp number. A call there proved useless. They Transferred me to Accts Receivable who sent me back to them. Multiple calls to your alleged check processing company priced useless. Attempts to reconcile and pay the check useless. I am waiting return calls from your Cust Service, Your check company, someone before you decide to take legal action which will force me to address. Something I am disturbed about. Suggestion. Reinstate the policy to pay at store. This check company a disaster causing you and customers issues. Respectively, Mr. R Melaccio
Desired outcome: Simple pay the check and remain in good standing
Publix brand nasal saline spray
The Publix brand of saline nasal spray contains alcohol. This causes a serious burning effect. Saline spray is supposed to be soothing and moisturizing for stuffy noses. It even has directions to use on children. Alcohol has no place in nasal spray. I compared their ingredients to the Arm & Hammer brand - A&H has no alcohol and does not cause burning. I think Publix should really evaluate the ingredients in their nasal spray. I will never buy it again.
Desired outcome: Evaluate your ingredients and modify the recipe of your saline nasal spray.
Hot bar staff person
3700 4th St N Saint Petersburg, FL [protected]
At this location on 4/17/23 at 6:40 pm a older male Publix worker blocked me as I reached for food at the hot bar. He said he had to close it at 7 pm. A few people just walked away. But one stayed as I pointed out that it was only 6:30 pm and I would only take a few minutes. The other person nodded. The man began to yell at me that he had to close. He then grabbed a hot item tray of food from the bar and yelled DO YOU WANT ANY IF THIS? Me and the other person began walking away when a manager type said something to the worker and he backed off. Me and other person in shock got a few hot bar items. And fled to checkout. Very aggressive poor service.
Desired outcome: Not get yelled at by hot bar staff
Women's laxative bisacodyl usp,5mg
I am filing this complaint because the product Women's laxative Bisacodyl USP, 5mg Stimulant Laxative is caused to be notified on how dangerous this product is. I purchased this on Wednesday April 12,2023. I read the directions carefully as I do with everything I buy. It says adults and children take one to three tablets in a single daily dose. I took three tablets. Six hours went by when I started getting sharp jabbing pains in my stomach. The pain was so intense. I was seriously considering going to the emergency room. It continued for hours. I finally had to lay down in a fetal position. Come evening time my daughter called, and I told her what was happening. I didn't eat all day and she suggested to at least have a few saltines crackers and I did. By ten o'clock I was going through the same excruciating pain. It was the most pain I can remember ever having. The next day I had no results from the laxative. This is such a dangerous product I feel compelled to brings this to your attention.
Desired outcome: Please refund me $5.00 dollars and look into this product to make sure it's safe for everyone to take, especially for children. Sincerely,Claudette Dunn, 850 N Clyde Morris Blvd. Apt 3114, Daytona Beach, FL 32117
Price Gouging
I split residence between Florida and Oregon. Publix prices are 20-25% higher on most name brand items than other major stores Albertsons and Safeway. For instance Orange Juice is a dollar more for Just Orange and Tropicana. Bagged salad kits are 1 dollar more. Campbells soup is 1 dollar more per can. Bread is 1 dollar more per loaf. These higher prices are consistent across the board.
Publix has bought out the competition and are raping the consumer with high prices and extreme profit margins.
Desired outcome: LOWER THE PRICES
