Lifetime warranty
Had surgery at LasikPlus in 2006 and it went very well and I got the Lifetime Enhancements. Now 17 years later I have had some degradation of my vision. My eye Dr. said I am within the margin of error for a Lasik procedure and he would not recommend it. I wanted to see if they would even honor it so we filled out all their paperwork and they said they would take 12 weeks for the medical team to evaluate my paperwork. SIX months later they contacted me to make an appointment for an in person evaluation. I just had to provide $75 up front. Trying to get $75 for something that should have been rejected outright.
Desired outcome: inform others
Lasik eye surgery
I had the eye surgery performed in 2004 in Richmond, VA. Purchased the lifelong insurance, and I have needed the enhancement for several years now. I have jumped through hoops trying to get a response from Lasic. Will not return my calls. I am at the point now where I am going to start writing these bad reviews and place them anywhere I can find - it will end up costing them a heck of a lot more to ignore me than if they would at least try to reach out. Wanting to charge me money for follow ups - I was told when I purchased the insurance, the enhancements would cost me nothing. And from what I hear, the Richmond Center is no longer open.

Desired outcome: Honor their Insurance commitments (I paid several thousand dolls for this if I remember correctly) or pay me my money back. It will cost them one way or another.
Lasik surgery
I had Lasik performed 8/2021 at the Wethersfield CT office. I have been having issues with my distance vision since day 1, especially when driving. I have been reporting this at every follow up appointment, being told it takes a year to ‘fully heal’, and to keep applying moisturizing eye drops. I just had my 1 year exam by my regular eye doctor, who confirms I still require a prescription for both reading (expected) as well as distance. I can not read street signs when driving. So I need not only glasses, but sunglasses also. I payed a lot of money to not have to wear glasses, and am being told that I still do. I had my doctor submit the form for ‘enhancement procedure’ (there is supposed to be a lifetime guarantee). I was just informed that the vision deficit is not ‘bad enough’ to qualify, and once they get worse, then I can reapply. Biggest waste of money! I spent thousands, and am still having to spend hundreds every year on prescription glasses. 😡
Desired outcome: I would like to have the enhancement (revision) to obtain the vision I was guaranteed!

I underwent Lasik surgery at a LasikPlus location in Mt Laurel NJ over 1 year ago. Soon after the procedure I realized I was having issues with my left eye and notified Dr Norden and Dr Harris who work at LasikPlus. Issues included myopia, starbursts, halos, mild pain, dryness and blurred vision in my left eye only. After multiple office visits over the...

At age 50 I had laser vision correction done at lasix plus in maple grove mn. During the process, I was pressured into purchasing the lifetime guarantee option. Now I need the procedure redone. After a 8 week battle, with many phone calls, and e mails, they refused do honor their guarantee. The reason given was the start of age related cataracts. Their knowledgeable eye doctor, then explained, age related cataracts start at age 45. Why sell this 3000 dollar option to a 50 year old? Their lifetime option isn't worth the paper its written on
Same thing happened to me few years ago at the LasikPlus Bloomington MN and they ended up gave me the different procedure that was so painful for a month but did not correct anything, Guess they tried to teach me the lesson not to request for warranty anymore.. lol
lasik
Dr. Eugene Smith did my lasik six months ago. Before that, I had 20-400 vision which was corrected by contact lenses to 20-15.
Dr, Patel, the salesperson doctor there, said he would make my eyesight as good as it was before lasik while I was wearing contacts. After the surgery I had glare and mentioned that to Dr, Patel at the follow up check- up visit. She downplayed it and said I have 20-15 vision despite not being able to read the bottom line of the eye chart without squinting and guessing several times. I went to m6 regular eye doctor who said I had a new astigmatism caused by lasik. I'm also undercorrected which increases the glare. I now must wear contacts to see almost as well as I did before when I wore contacts. Dr. Patel gave me a sales line and I fell for it. Do not fall for their dishonesty. Kept me waiting four hours on the cattle call surgery day, then had me sign an additional waiver that had been handwritten, last minute. Made a big deal about being able to take anti anxiety prescription before surgery, then last minute would not allow it saying it would be like operating on a drunk person. So I went in unseadated. Then they insisted it was a success despite my eyes now being more sensitive to sunlight. My regular eye doctor said further surgery carries risk of over correction which would make it very difficult to correct with contacts. So many things are wrong with how they operate. Rush patients to get it done then keep them waiting, then have them sign form last minute after lying about being able to take Valium. The biggest letdown is I have worse vision than promised. And Dr. Patel told me I may be able to get a refun. I contacted the department per Dr. Patel's instruction, for a refund, and got no reply. Oh and I asked twice, in writing, these past six months, on the lasikplus official form, for my medical records to be sent to my eye doctor. Still have not gotten them.
PRK Complications and service
Nov. 2014: PRK enhancement on right eye. Result: Loss of near-vision (now require reading glasses). Halos/shimmer around lights at night. Ghosting. Vision is hazy/cloudy (like looking through a dirty transparency). Dry irritated eye. Night vision difficulty (simply can’t see as well in low-light). Floaters - they constantly blur my vision, are impossible to ignore, and have dramatically impacted my life.
Service: Optometrist Cleary - bedside manner and attitude was one of disinterest. When I was hoping for reassurance, I received no expression of concern. I left every visit with him anxious and frustrated. E.g. After 3 months of terrible blurry vision, I finally decided to share that I was concerned that my near vision was much worse. He replied: “Yeah. We took that away.” in an unconcerned tone. I felt horrible, but added that my left eye had perfect near-vision. He replied that within 6 months, my left eye would be as bad as my right and I would need reading glasses. Again, the manner in which he gave his prediction was so disheartening.. and for no reason: It’s been a year since that conversation and my left eye near-vision is still perfect.
The advertisement wasn't truthful and I wasted more money than expected
I filled the form for the appointment in LasikPlus. The receptionist called me back and confirmed the appointment. Their advertisement stated that the consultation was only $350. I prepared this sum and after the consultation, the doctor prescribed me the medicine, when we gave me the bill, I was surprised to see $2, 500 for the consultation and medicine. People, don’t be so credulous and don’t trust their advertisements.
$250 lasik eye procedure which is advertised but not offered
Your advertisement for $250 per eye is grossly misleading! You should be sued for false advertising. I wasted two hours of my life attending your consultation. the whole time your criminal intent was to SCAM me out of $3800. I am not stupid. $250 vs $3800 is a BIG difference. I am reporting you to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and the Attorney General. I should call the police. BAIT AND SWITCH is unethical and illegal.

I went to the Kleiman Evangelista Eye Center to see if I would be a candidate for Lasik. I was not told of the complications other than the obvious, I was never told of the permanent side effects (reading glasses). I was assured that I could attain 20/20 with the surgery. After my first surgery Dr. Kleiman left "debris" under the flap of the right eye, my eye became infected. I had excruciating headaches and the antibiotics did not help. I went back in, they had to lift the flap and remove the debris, I was not told this would change the prescription of the eye. After removing the "debris" he left behind in the initial surgery my eyesight in my left eye was 20/40 and it became 20/100 in the right. I was not allowed to use any kind of corrective lenses at this time, again I was suffering severe headaches due to the disparity between the vision in both eyes. Unable to see adequately I subsequently lost my job. I went in to have the right eye corrected again. After this surgery both eyes were 20/40 and I failed my eye exam for my drivers license. I was told I would have to wait a year before they could go back in and "enhance" my vision. One year later I received a notice in the mail advising me it was time to come in and have my eyes checked. I returned to their office only to be told I would be charged for the visit. I was indignant and told them it was a follow-up from the previous surgeries, that they had not given me 20/20 and I would not pay. I was escorted back for more tests on my eyes. I was told they could get me 20/20 this time and i asked would this affect my near vision I was assured by two technicians it would not. I was scheduled for the "enhancement". After the "enhancement" surgery I discovered Dr. Kleiman not only had left "debris" in the right eye he had also left some in the left eye as well. The field of vision in my right eye was greatly obstructed. Not wanting to allow this "Dr." to touch me again I went to a specialist in Dallas only to discover not only had Dr. Kleiman left "debris" in my right and left eyes he had left creases in the flap of the right and ruined the lens in that eye as well! He put and astigmatism in the left eye and I have to permanently wear reading glasses all the time. The specialist spent 45 minutes cleaning out the "debris" and "ironing" out the creases. I have heard the Kleiman Evangilista Eye center sues patients who complain about their work! I hope they do, I am ready to tell the world what they did to me! If you have someone you care about DO NOT take them to Dr. Kleiman!

Got a quote from dr. Maher Jaber. He only recommended I do 1 eye. Aren't they connected. I should do both. He will probably charge me double to do the other eye.

Lasikplus office staff failed to practice and adhere to guidelines for best overall outcomes for Lasik procedures which are standards outlined by the american academy of ophthalmology . They failed to properly inform about contact wear before procedure for accurate measurements. Proper steps weren’t followed for deciding on monovision- doing a trial with contacts first. They did not do proper testing for dry eyes after seeing in the history form that there were indications for the condition. They didn’t go over why the procedure is priced. They advertise starting out at $250, but was charged $4800, for mono vision at that. They didn’t do the same thing to each eye, but it still cost the same. Lasikplus says that post op care is included, but it isn’t. It is charged separate from the cost of the eye surgery. They failed to inform it was an option that these meds could be acquired over the counter or through my health insurance plan . When questioning that, they did say I would be issued a refund for the meds, though reluctant to do so and have not seen yet. On day of treatment, my 10:30 appointment turned into being after 12:00, with no interaction with the office staff until 11:30.They say it states in paper work it could be up to 2 hours that you are at the facility, but by no means do you think it’s because you have to wait for the procedure. they schedule too many people on treatment day, and what’s worse than waiting when you have anxiety. The surgeon was only introduced minutes before the procedure and that was the only time he was seen for the whole process, didn’t see him post op. They failed to issue a K card for future reference. The treatment room is surrounded by huge windows were everyone can see it getting done. The office failed to inform on privacy during procedure as an option-only to find out afterwards that they do have blinds . They video to post on social media platforms when it was chosen to opt out on the paperwork- no privacy at this place.
Lasik Surgery
I had my surgery at Lasik Plus in Jacksonville FL 2 months ago. I still cannot see! I understand that is what happens when you have the surgery without a flap but I did not! The person who did my exam was very informative and thorough but when I went back for my surgery the person who said they would be in there with me, was not. I then had my instruction...

I had the procedure about 2 years ago, since that time my eyessight has degraded. Wanting to use the lifetime enhancement promise, I contacted the company. I was told the center had closed and I would have to travel out of state for the procedure. I was also told that it would take three trips out of state which I cannot afford to do. This should be a crime. If this company gives its patients this lifetime service then they (the company) should have some responsibility for providing it at a reasonable cost to the patient. I have since heard this compliant from others. It seems that this company moves into an area, milks the community for what it can, and then moves on. This is so wrong and they should be stopped.

Bad service & not reliable
Had Lasik done with Lasik Plus and it was a disaster. The MD who performed the surgery injured my left eye in some kind of way. My left eye was still hurting weeks later because of that. Also after 4 years of the surgery my left eye was loosing vision also I have to mention that since day 1 after the procedure my left eye never achieve 20/20 or 20/40. I...

r. Eugene Smith performed wrong surgery on my eye. Even on the day of
surgery to correct my eye, by their own
Dr. MuMullan-she refused. I ONLY received a check for the cost of difference in surgery. I went to Woodhams Eye Clinic and had surgery corrected. I have statement from Dr. Woodham stating he corrected`visual problems from my previous eye surgery.
Dr. Eugene Smith was the only Dr. at
the time working at 4 locations. We were like cattle call. I WAS NOT REIMBURSED. I CANNOT BELIEVE DR EUGENE SMITH HAS A AD ON 96 ROCK.

After months of trying to get a treatment scheduled with a specific surgeon. A nameless email, from Patient Care, states they cannot meet my needs.
I believe this is all based on the Center staff that never return phone calls, and whom are negligent in providing correct information.
I am in the process of writing to Craig Joffe, CEO.
these doctors seems to come from third world countries.where's no liability.I think I'll buy me glasses.
I too had Crystal lens at a reputable eye surgery institute in Florida in July 2011, my left eye from day 1 has had discomfort, driving at nite a nightmare, fluctuation in focus near and far, 2 attempts on left eye have been made to cover his miscalculations, a laser surgery on left eye and a capsulectomy9Yag)...vision is so unacceptable..the opthamologist will not admit anything, his neglect for my left eye discomfort chronic complaints and lack of focus on overall vision is amazingly the hugest disappointment, and $13, 000 poorer..he should be arrested for what he has dome to my eyes! Now I have to come up with money to get a second opinion...! that I don't have..
I wouldn't judge this complaint on it's lack of clarity. After all, this person can't see. I'm just looking as Dr. Eugine is the only one on my health plan offering a discount for Lasik. I see many good reviews and some bad reviews. With thousands of patients, there are bound to be a few unsuccessful operations. It sounds like this patient got caught up in not affording a lawyer to capture the Office's attention. They sound big... maybe too big to worry about a little fall out here and there.
I went to lasik plus vision center on Buffalo speedway in houston, texas to get lasik's one an the people there told me that if i paid and extra $ 100.00 that i could get a lifetime enhancement when i needed it. But they lied and told me that it was not covered if i needed it for closeup, because that was a age related issue. well i don't know what life time means to them but for me it means forever. They said if i wanted my eyes fixed that it would cost me $1000.00 I am on disability an can not afford this, so i am left just about blind an on top of this i also have now chronic eye syndrome an i have to use drops in my eyes for the rest of my life. If you go there please read the fine print on the contract an don't jut let them tell you was each page of the contract is, unless you like getting screwed for nothing. jfisher willis, texas
Well I got prk in November of 2009. IT was the worst mistake of my life. TLC center in Tysons Corner Virginia by Dr. Anthony Roberts. I was not screen properly of warned about my large pupils. I have severe dry eyes and have lost my career as a result. I can no longer drive at night due to halos.ghosting and starbursts. MY eyes hurt 24/7. The pain has made me suicidal and I am only 32 years old. MY vision is good in one eye during the day and the other regressed and is poor. This has ruined my life. Please think very hard about getting laser vision surgery. If it goes wrong there is no going back . Dr. Anthony Roberts was a very cold hearted person when I was scared and in pain. I hope he looses his business and career because of the way he treated me.
I just had LASIK surgery by Dr. Eugene Smith and he was wonderful. I am now seeing 20/20 only after 24 hours! For anyone reading this, DO NOT judge Dr. Eugene Smith based on the initial negative posting. I would HIGHLY advise anyone wanting the surgery to go to LASIK PLUS: Dr. Eugene Smith.
I am sorry for your issues with your surgery although you were not even clear in your complaint.
Could you please be more precise? What went wrong? I am considering PRK. Thanks
