How the Level One Law scam operates."
On August 4, 2023, I contacted a Level One Law representative named Alex at cell 716-337-5157, now disconnected. After sending documents, Alex promised to consolidate my debts, saving $19,000 with monthly payments of $839.55 for 36 months. Alternatively, bi-weekly payments could clear the debt in 18 months. I agreed and signed documents on August 4, 2024. However, the breakdown didn't match what I agreed to. I made 13 payments of $839.45, but none of my cards were contacted. They kept $347 in fees per payment, totaling almost $700 monthly. When I questioned, they said more escrow was needed for better deals. Realizing it was a scam, I requested to cancel. They offered only $6,412 out of $10,920 collected, citing fees. It's unfair and authorities should intervene."
The scammers' MO is to encourage numerous payments or provoke a card lawsuit, then delay while racking up fees. I sent them $10,940, expecting $6,400 back, but received nothing 000 service in return. I have evidence showing they never contacted my card. They profit by stalling, earning $720 from me alone each time. This scam affects many unsuspecting victims."
User!
Recommendation: I hope that with this, you don't fall into this scam like I did. When they paint it to you, it sounds fantastic and very logical, without imagining the scammers they are."

These guys are liars and they take advantage of people who are in a tough spot
These guys are liars and they take advantage of people who are in a tough spot. They convince you to sign up by saying it's a debt consolidation, but it's not! It's actually a debt settlement, which is totally different. They wait until all your stuff is in collections before they even start working on your file. This messes up your credit for YEARS! I would never recommend them to anyone.
I wish I had seen and read your review before I signed up for them. Thank you for spreading the word and trying to help others being scammed out of thousands of dollars we do not have.

Debt consolidation
In august of 2023 I got a call from a man named Micheal from strategic solutions about my applications through patriot funding for a loan. I was told I was not approved for a loan but approved for debt consolidation. He was able to look up every piece of debt I had, took over my computer to show me all the details of how everything works. I should have...

On March 31, 2023, I contacted Patriot Funding in response to a direct mailing that I was pre-approved for a debt consolidation loan.
I was told that the company assists not by giving you a loan but by contacting your creditors and settling your debts for less than you owe using Level One Law law firm.
I was told to stop paying my creditors because an account with a company called Global Holdings would be opened for me. I would make payments of $400.79 on the 1st and 15th of each month, which would be used to pay off my creditors and applicable fees.
I was told about the fees and costs associated with the program. I inquired if these fees are charged upfront and were told no, these fees are collected once my debts are settled.
I made my first payment on 4/15/2023. ACH debits were also made on 5/1/2023, 5/15/2023, 6/1/2023, and 6/15/2023. On 6/29/2023, I checked my Global Holdings account and was shocked to see that my account only had $108.80. All the money I have paid thus far was not saved to pay my creditors; nearly all the money was being applied to fees.
I emailed the company on 6/29/2023 requesting to cancel and get a full refund of the $2,003.95 paid thus far. I only received an automated response that someone would reply in 5-7 business days.
I called on 6/30/2023 to make my request and was told I could do it over the phone or in writing using the form in my welcome packet. No such cancelation form was given to me, so I canceled over the phone.
I was told by the agent that once I canceled, I was only entitled to the balance left in my account. My only recourse was to wait until I got the $108.80, call back, and see if a supervisor could do anything for me.
Desired outcome: I want a full refund of all money paid to the company.
If need assistance with debt relief/debt consolidation, please stay away from this company.
The company first attracts customers by sending mailings to your homes under the company name of Patriot Funding telling you that you have been pre-approved for a debt consolidation loan.
When you reach out to them, you are told they do not offer loans, but help you by settling your debt for less than what you owe with the creditors using Level One Law firm.
They also tell you to stop paying your creditors and they will set up an account with a company called Global Holdings where your payments are held and then used to pay the settled debts.
While you are not paying your creditors, late fee and interest will accumulate and the money that you think is being saved to pay off your settled bill is instead being used to pay illegal upfront fees.
Per the Federal Trade Commission debt relief services, you can't collect any fee from a customer until you meet these three requirements:
You must have reached a successful result for your customer.
There must be an agreement between your customer and the creditor.
Your customer must have made a payment to the creditor.
However, when you call to cancel and request a refund, you will be told you are only entitled to what is in your account at the time, even though the FTC requirements were not met.
In my case, it was a mere 5% of what I gave to the company.

Level One Law ain't giving me back my $491.70 even though I cancelled with them on 10/23
Level One Law ain't giving me back my $491.70 even though I cancelled with them on 10/23. They gave me papers that said I could cancel anytime without any penalties or obligations. They didn't even help me with my debt settlements, some other company did. That company took out $491.70 on 10/28. I talked to Level One Law on 11/2 and they said they'd give me all my money back. But they only gave me $43.01 on November 10th. I want all my money back, not just a little bit.
You got 30 days to cancel, after that they keep your money to cover their fees, for doing nothing, because they will do something until 6 months have passed and all your debts are in collection, and your score is in the floor. They they try to settle your debts.
Please keep pushing the issue. If you have not done so yet, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the BBB. What they are doing is illegal.
In 2010 the FTC amended the Telemarketing rules for Debt Relief Services as follows:
If you provide debt relief services, the new Rule says you can't collect any fee from a customer until you meet these three requirements:
You must have reached a successful result for your customer. You must have renegotiated, settled, reduced, or otherwise changed the terms of at least one of the customer's debts.
There must be an agreement between your customer and the creditor. Your customer must agree to the settlement agreement, debt management plan, or other result reached with the creditor due to your service. According to the Rule, the agreement from the creditor must be in writing, although your customer may agree to it orally. You can't take your fee in advance by getting your customer to agree to a blanket "pre-approval" of any settlement you might be able to negotiate in the future.
Your customer must have made a payment to the creditor. Your customer must have made at least one payment to the creditor or debt collector as a result of the agreement you negotiated.
