My parked car was hit by my neighbor over a year ago. I was not at fault and have two written letters from both insurance companies to prove this, as well as a full reimbursement of repair costs.
Lo and behold, when I switch insurers a year later, the rates are through the roof because of a supposed incident on my report. I finally figure out how to obtain this report, from a company called LexisNexis, and it shows the claim is still open. I file a dispute, and have to go through their archaic website dispute page three times in two weeks, because they keep rejecting the disputes for "missing information" even though it does not ask for that info anywhere when submitting the dispute.
Finally, I get a response 30 days later and they reject the dispute. Why? God only knows, because they can't be bothered to explain it any more than "company ABC verified the claim amount is correct." Company A is neither my insurer, nor the insurer of the guy who hit me. No contact information. No details. Not to mention that I never disputed the claim AMOUNT, but the claim STATUS.
So, here I am, 30 days later again, after filing a second dispute, to which they again respond that nothing will be done. Even though I have TWO WRITTEN LETTERS, from BOTH INSURERS, stating I was NOT at fault, they are not updating the claim status.
So I send them a letter to add a statement to the report, which is my right as a consumer, and which their pathetic website acknowledges. No response. I talk to one of their "affirmative action" hires at their call center (hint: do not waste your time, they are dumb as a brick), and send a fax to her the next day. No response. No change to my report. No statement added.
I will pursue this matter further, but am posting my experience here for all to see. Avoid this pathetic company at all cost.
