Visiting a dealership during a pandemic might seem like a questionable decision, but I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service and care provided at the Chevy dealership in Libertyville. Keith, the sales representative, went above and beyond to address all my inquiries and ensure that I found the car I had my heart set on. The level of service I received was truly outstanding.
I came across a vehicle on truecar.com and decided to check on its availability
I came across a vehicle on truecar.com and decided to check on its availability. The dealership promptly contacted me and confirmed that the vehicle was indeed available. Excited, I made my way to the dealership, only to be informed that the vehicle couldn't be driven due to a safety issue with the brakes. They assured me that the brakes would be repaired and asked me to return the following day.
The next day, I went back to the dealership after the brakes had supposedly been fixed. However, during the test drive, the air bag indicator on the dashboard suddenly turned on. It was quite concerning, to say the least. Despite this unexpected issue, I still decided to make an offer to purchase the vehicle. To my surprise, the sales manager rejected my offer, claiming that it was too low and that the price of the vehicle had increased to compensate for the brake repairs. I found this response to be absolutely astonishing.
Overall, my experience with this dealership has been quite frustrating. The initial inconvenience of the safety issue with the brakes, followed by the unexpected problem with the air bag indicator, and then the refusal to accept my offer due to a sudden price increase, left me feeling extremely disappointed. It's disheartening to encounter such lack of transparency and professionalism.
I had the worst experience at a dealership today!
I had the worst experience at a dealership today! I went in for an oil change and tire rotation, and I was told it would take 1 1/2 hours. However, it ended up taking 2 1/2 hours! When I checked in with the service advisor, *let's call him John*, he asked me where my tire key was. I honestly didn't know, assuming that since I was at the dealership and they had rotated my tires before, they would know where it was. But instead of helping me, John laughed and shook his head, treating me like a clueless woman. He continued to be condescending and even warned me that if I had a flat tire and didn't know where the key was, I wouldn't be able to remove the tire. It was incredibly disrespectful and made me feel belittled.
After the 2 1/2 hours, I finally left and drove *back hometo my driveway. As soon as I got out of the car, I noticed that my back driver side tire was completely flat. I immediately called Libertyville *Dealershipand explained what had happened. Unfortunately, *Johnnever came to the phone despite being paged three times. The woman who eventually answered was incredibly rude and condescending towards me, even laughing at times. She basically told me that there was nothing she could do, but she could arrange for a tow truck to bring the car back to them. But why would I want that? So they could sell me a new tire now? Absolutely not!
I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by Libertyville *Dealership*, both before and after the issue with my tire. I would never recommend them to anyone, and I will make sure to share my story with others.
I had a disappointing experience with Libertyville Chevrolet
I had a disappointing experience with Libertyville Chevrolet. They engage in deceitful and dishonest sales tactics, such as falsely stating prices in their advertisements and claiming to beat any competitive offer. They also falsely offer free incentives that are not actually free. These tactics go against the principles of good faith and fair dealing, and it creates a sense of distrust.
I contacted Libertyville Chevrolet about a vehicle I saw on their website. However, I had already found and put a deposit down on a similar vehicle with slightly better features at another reputable dealer. The MSRP and actual selling price of that vehicle was $37,790, with an out the door price of $40,661 including sales tax. The only downside was the 2-to-3-week delivery timeframe.
After multiple phone and email exchanges, my decision was to go with the vehicle at Libertyville Chevrolet because it was already on their lot. However, when we were finalizing the pricing, they informed us of a Market Adjustment that added nearly $6,000 to their advertised price. Despite their claims of honoring competitive prices, Libertyville Chevrolet refused to do so, even when we offered to show them the competitor's No. and dealer invoice. In the end, we purchased the vehicle from the reputable dealer without any additional adjustments and with a confirmed delivery date of March 8.
It's important to note that GM's MSRP already includes healthy profit margins for their dealers. The so-called market adjustment is just a way for Libertyville Chevrolet and other unscrupulous dealers to take advantage of their customers. Their advertised pricing is simply a tactic to lure unsuspecting customers into their dealership.
Save yourself the headache and a significant amount of money by going elsewhere for your vehicle needs.

I bought a vehicle from this dealership on August 7th
I bought a vehicle from this dealership on August 7th. Although I was approved for financing, I still haven't received the registration for the vehicle. I've been calling them and trying to be patient, but it's been two months now. Today, on October 6th, I called them again and they informed me that they haven't received anything regarding the registration. Their immediate response was to advise me to file a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com (ComplaintsBoard.com) and to keep calling. It's frustrating because I can't drive the vehicle without the proper registration. Moreover, they haven't made any effort to return my calls. Every time I call, the financing director conveniently seems to be unavailable. When my father calls, however, they suddenly become available within minutes. It's frustrating because there seems to be no in-between time to assist in resolving this issue.
I brought my 2011 Malibu to the service center on December 21st, for three issues: the radio, the temperature gauge, and the seat belt
I brought my 2011 Malibu to the service center on December 21st, for three issues: the radio, the temperature gauge, and the seat belt alarm going off even though the belt is buckled. When I spoke to Art, the service advisor, I made it clear that I didn't want to spend a lot on the car due to its high mileage. Art informed me that there would be a $180 diagnosis fee, and then I could decide whether to proceed with the repairs. After Art called me, he quoted $601 for the radio, $731 for the instrument cluster, and $350 for the seat belt alarm. I instructed him to only fix the seat belt alarm since it was a safety concern. The total charge for the seat belt repair and diagnosis was $475.99. My son picked up the car, but when he brought it home, we noticed that the seat belt alarm was still randomly going off. I immediately contacted Art, who advised me to bring the car back.
On December 27th, I returned to the service center, but Art was not available. I explained the situation to another staff member, and they assured me that a technician would inspect the car. Later that day, I received a call informing me that they had discovered another issue with the seat belt buckle, which would cost $287.00 to replace. I explicitly told them not to proceed with any repairs and that I would discuss the matter with Art upon his return. The following day, I tried contacting Art, but he did not return my call. After multiple attempts, I finally reached him and explained the situation, insisting that he either fix the problem at no additional cost or refund my money since the initial issue was not resolved. Art informed me that he needed to consult his boss, ***, who was out sick with Covid. I asked when I could expect a call back, and Art said it would be on Tuesday, January 4th, 2022. However, he failed to follow through, so I called him on that day. Unfortunately, he avoided my call and did not respond to the message I left. Frustrated, I decided to speak with ***, Art's boss, at 12 PM on January 4th, 2022. *** assured me that he would discuss the matter with Art and get back to me promptly. However, he never returned my call, and when I tried reaching out to both Art and ***, I was directed to a generic voicemail extension. Neither of them returned my call.
At this point, I believe the only resolution is for them to refund my money, which amounts to $475.99. Their lack of communication and failure to address the initial problem have completely eroded my trust in their service.
