auto payment
It is very deplorable of Lifetime fitness not willing to adjust auto payment date nor give a window time for payment. There are consumers like myself who are on limited income. I asked them to adjust from first to third of the month for my auto payment. Their reply: "That's not an option!" Whoa it seems like they're not sensitive towards different socio-economic groups. This is my first who refuse to adjust auto payment date. I don't want to either cancel my contract or pay overdraft fee. Life Time Fitness need to be more sensitive and flexible to meet consumers' needs.
auto payment
It is deplorable that this company does not allow adjusting auto payment date. My financial situation has changed and need to change payment date to the 3rd (only two days later) and the response from the local and corporate office was "it is not an option" my car and health insurance, rent, etc... All have flexibility between five days like first of the month thru the fifth. I feel that this company targets one certain socio economic group with continued flow of money into their bank. Unfortunately it's not my case. I don't understand why you can't allow adjustment of auto pay date.
dues increase
Living in minnesota, this is the 4 year in a row they have increased dues — but they don't even give you at least 30 days notification... Generally about 23-25 days till the new rate goes into affect. Seems that they should give you enough time to decide if you want to continue at the higher rate, or drop membership. If there was a better alternative nearby, I will drop out in a heartbeat.
cancellation policy
I decided to cancel my subscription because I am moving to another home location. I turns out, although I contacted them on the 13th of the month, I will have to keep paying through the remainder of the month + all the way through the end of the month after. That's insane and unfair. Do not go there!

I have gone into this lifetime and on numerous occasions have seen sick employees who vomit and end up having to stay at work like seriously what the heck no one wants to workout in an area where people are puking and sick like today there was a young female employee in the operations department who vomited multiple times and when she told her manager he simply told her that she has to stay because no one could cover for her

The aquatics department at the sugarland location in houston is horrible. They have changed managers at least 3 times in my short tenure as a member. The latest manager jonathan is by far the worst! He has made a attempt to come in and make the department better in fact all he has done is piss off all the parents. At the rate they changed management he won't be around long. If we are lucky.
facility
Club charges more then any other (100 mo) so I expect perfection. During sunday's snow (superbowl) the lot was totally inaccesible.
Why were other private businesses that were not even open totally plowed? The lot was horrible along with the sidewalk. When I complained to whom ever was in charge, they stated they were short handed. Bad management. During an emergency it should be all hands on deck. No one to hold accountable
Lifetime Fitness in Summerlin, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. Castro was our sales person who showed us around the club. We explained that for us to join we must have our grandson as a member because he is with us all the time. We babysit him during the week after school and on Saturdays as his mom is single and working. Castro left the desk to ask for "Special Permission" to have our grandson join under us. He returned saying he obtained this permission, put our grandson on the agreement and we joined based on this agreement. Today they sent us away saying our grandson cannot be a member under our membership, no exceptions. Grandson has swimming lessons every Saturday and he was looking forward to swimming and getting the lesson. Because our membership was predicated on his ability to join, we verbally cancelled and called the credit card company. From the credit card company we have learned that we may have to sue these people rather than just quit, get our money back and be peaceful. Now I must fight and waste my time.
How can you expect perfection when you yourself are not perfect. Proper nouns and sentences begin with a capital letter. Before expecting anyone to be perfect at least have the basic grammar skills taught to you in the second grade.
harassment and won't cancel membership
I cancelled my membership in August 2014 with Flower Mound, Tx. location.
I had my account frozen for the last several years and they auto debited my account during this time. Now they call saying I owe them money, yet it's December and they still haven't cancelled my account.
I have talked to three different people at the Flower Mound location and asked them to cancel my account and to NEVER call again. Needless to say they don't listen and continue to call and call and call.
Their frozen monthly charge is more than I pay currently for my membership at Gold's or 24 Hour Fitness

Racism
Lifetime berkley heights, nj caters to many haters and racists bigots that hate arabs alike and gays. Their staff geared and programmed to fuel hate and bigotry and if you complain they will gang up on you and harass you, follow your every move in the gym. It reminds me as a sectarian/nazi camp. Many (including certain staff members) feel invincible...

Life time fitness in las vegas (based in mn) has a no cell phone policy for the locker room, which they never enforced. I complained july 2014 cell phones pointed at me and others of different ages, and september 2014, life time fitness removed their cell phone policy. now allowing cell phones to be used at lockers, sinks, and showers area. a big thank you to life time fitness!
Not taking affirmative steps to protect against privacy rights violations.
New cell phone policy as long as no nude man/boy pics in locker room, can talk or text on cell phone, even aim the phone at them, just don't photo!

Life time athletic ltf cell phone locker room policy life time athletic allows cell phones in men's locker room at lockers, sinks, towel dry off area near hot tub, just don't take pictures or video. men/boys of all ages naked. lft life time athletic summerlin las vegas nv 89135

You can use cell phones in men's room with other men and boys naked in front of your cell phone, it is totally allowed. - new policy after I complained risk of child pornography with men sitting at the towel dry off area and at sinks holding up cell phones. cell phones with capabilities to photo on each side like an iphone 5.
They were going to enforce their no cell phone ban due me bringing awareness, but they did the complete opposite and lifted the cell phone ban; making a reckless decision, providing even greater privacy violation risk abuse to members and their children.
—
Life time fitness has always had a no cell phone policy to protect privacy of members of all ages in men's locker room, and in august 2014 they lifted the ban and changed their policy as I (on july 17, 2014) requested more than 1 sign up (picture below), (they have 12 slippery and wet signs), I had cell phone pointed at me as I put on my underwear, and observed cell phones pointed in direction of minors who were wearing nothing.
I, like everyone else, see phones used by many, and people of all ages are in front and no one knows if their video or pictures are being taken.
They never tried to enforce the policy, and I see men at the towel dry off area and at the lockers and at the sinks hold up cell phones, and members of all ages can be photographed. do you want your family member or yourself photographed? i'm not comfortable with this, I complained, and they said they would correct the problem, only to make it even easier for privacy violations of male members.
Instead of enforcing their policy after my concern july 17 meeting, they are changing their policy, making even a greater risk, new policy as long as pictures are not being taken you can use your phones; however those taking pictures are sly.
—
Effective june 20, 2014 (policy on web but will be newly changed to protect the gym, not the member, cannot prove if pic/video is taken, can not get cell phone from another unless you have a court order, they know this!
Cell phones and other mobile devices. you may not use mobile devices to place calls in any locker room, sauna or steam room. please use common courtesy when using mobile devices in other areas of the center.
Https://www.legalzoom.com/articles/smile-youre-on-my-cell-phone-camera-phones-and-privacy states difficult to determine if your picture is taken because you're unaware.
There is no reason to provide at least a minimum amount of protection: which if 100% saying and reasonably enforcing no cell phone. I never seen them enforce policy, I was told they were to watch for theft (supposedly some members do not lock their lockers, and to keep eye on hot tub and steam room in locker room.
We have rich members and business men as members, we tell the young ones to stop taking pictures.
Truth: anyone can be a pedophile, or have desire to collect pictures of nude men and boys for personal use, or to submit to spy amateur websites. we don’t know what anyone’s fetishes, sickness, or behaviors are by just looking at them.
—
No one is taking pictures or video is life time athletic reply. but if they are, just report it to us.
You cannot guarantee this. the original no cell phone sign went up in life time fitness locker rooms 5 yrs. ago when in a life time fitness gym, in mn, a woman taken a nude picture or another woman in the lifetime fitness locker room and posted it to internet. she never knew her picture was taken until posted to the internet as a joke, and she did not find this to be a joke or funny and sued life time fitness, then the 1 sign no cell phone was posted in all the locker rooms, but I count 12 slippery and wet signs in the locker room. life time knows the risk in the locker room; they should do the minimum at least to protect members for privacy rights violations.
—
By removing the no cell phone policy, after brian frankwick (gen mgr. of summerlin las vegas, and is also the regional mgr. of nv, az, and ca says he doesn’t know what happens in the locker room, he doesn’t go in there is no excuse, I came forward, this blog is also making it known, life time has obligation to create a safe environment for children and men. they are more liable removing the policy given my experiences made known, and are more liable because they should know better and know the risks.
—
Fathers and their sons are unaware of perverts photographing and videotaping them, fathers and their sons are at life time to use the locker room for showers, hot tub, changing, and are not aware of the risk.
People are not aware of others potentially taking their pictures, often unaware of their environment, they just want to use the pool, locker room, have good family times, work on getting stronger and being fit.
Their thoughts are “it’s family day, i’m with my son” father still showering or at sinks, son walking/running around spa area naked.
—
Apple I phone can take pictures on both sides of camera, appears as if you’re texting, but you’re taking pictures and videos, this is what it appears to be when men are sitting at the towel dry off area facing young boys and men coming out of the hot tub and from the locker area to/from the showers. I pointed this out!
Oh, but most people would not do child pornography or film same sex nude males in the locker room: when privacy violation is committed, it is 100% to that person, and maybe 50 people on their phones are not taking pictures, but who is to say if the 51st person or the 10thperson has taken video or pictures of members? I had a cell phone pointed right at my butt as I put on my underwear at my locker at life time fitness and turned around and saw the guy holding the phone.
—
How do you determine that most members, or all members are aware of the risk of cell phone use? how do you agree cell phone ban should be lifted, obviously immediately after my complaint, my true legitimate concerns and experiences affecting everyone's safety? is it the cost of the signs? extra time to send out free email reminders, or initial hassle to have attendants remind members to be respectful in protecting other member's privacy? life time athletic made no attempt to enforce their no cell phone policy, nor to implement the outline per their legal department 7/29/14 email to me (attached at end of blog).
The posting of the signs themselves will lead to members assisting in policing each other.
But no attempt was made in enforcing their long standing cell phone policy at my gym's locker room.
Having no cell phone policy and enforcing it will make those using or attempting to use cell phones to be easily visible.
If everyone has a phone, those with bad intentions will be better hidden; they would not be out of place holding a phone. their goal is to take pictures, and they will be clever.

Our members will quit if we don’t remove the cell phone ban:
Our members will quit if we don’t remove the cell phone ban:
Oh, ok, it’s ok to do child pornography and photo men and boys to keep possible 300 members happy out of a possible 5000+ members.
Just go outside of the locker room to use your phone. people are not going to quit in masses over this if they are made aware of the risks to others.
Use the locker room to get changed and showered, not to do executive business around naked men and boys. get real, and be sensible.
A lot of men do not like to be naked with phones pointed at them or their nude children for concern of privacy rights violations. one member said if a picture is taken, and you are actually aware, it takes a court order to get the phone.
When I talk with members, they say they don’t like it, it’s creepy with all the phone use, it’s not right, it’s not safe. I don’t want my child to be videod; you don’t know what people are doing with their phones. I spoke to a las vegas judge who is also a member, and he said there's signs no cell phones, can't people wait 5 minutes. another member said it's risky, they can wait 15 minutes, no one needs to be on their phones in the locker room.
Members can use their phones prior to entering the locker room or briefly leave the locker room to use their phones. there are 12 slippery and wet signs, there was only 1 no cell phone signs.

pushy sales tactics, harassment, just plain rude!
I rarely ever complain but each and every time I have gone to check out any of the lifetime clubs I have left with not only a bad taste in mouth, but personally offended! Twice I have encountered rude, pushy sales associates that either work on straight commission or are trained to be the worlds biggest *! The sales guy scoffed and belittled me because I would not commit to a $90+ membership on the spot. He tried to pretend that he cared about my workout needs and interest but really only wanted my credit card. When I politely declined membership, he became rude and demeaning! The clubs are beautiful, but until they change their customer service/sales methods and stop with the pushy and rude sales tactics... Never again!'

terrible customer service, scam
I inquired about 6 weeks ago about membership pricing online. I used to belong to lifetime fitness for 2 years in [protected] (troy michigan). I have had a foot injury so I have held off going in and talking to a membershup advisor. Swimming would be good, however. It has been a turn-off to recieve sooooo many phone calls and e-mails from them. I felt like I was being stalked. Every weekend was an open house with a free lunch and a deal that was ending on such and such a date.
I made a reservation on saturday august 23rd to look at the club, workout, find out membership pricing. I was offered a free lunch but never heard anything about it. When I came in I met with jim jezuit. I was told right off the bat that he could not give me a 7 day pass because I used to be a member. I also could not work out for the day but he could sign me up on a membership and they would credit me one week.
First of all, I was not expecting a 7 day pass just was expecting to work out and get the feel for the club before joining. I really liked the troy location but cancelled my membership when I moved to seattle. I don't know if it is this location, membership advisor or if lifetime has really changed. The advisor was so insulting that I will never, ever become a member here. I have run many businesses for years and I work hard to have a good reputation with excellent customer service. This location could care less about customer service. I was treated worse because I used to be a member and paid on time every month for two years. I was an easy sell for this membership especially because I was a happy member for 2 years. You lost out. Health track in glen ellyn will get my business,

employee harassment
I was an employee at Lifetime Fitness for 8 months at the spa department and I have to say to all of you people who wrote these complaints that you are absolutely right, first thing that I would like to say about this place is that it's a horrible place to work, they want professionals, they're paying them $10 an hour, and they verbally abuse them, force employees to work for free, and the Life Spa managers, they steal money from employees checks, like it was in my situation. From the very beginning that I started working there, there was a money problem, I started to be very uncomfortable for Life Spa manager that I was admitted my rights to, she yelled at an employee in front of others making them feel like they just finished elementary school, I also invited one of my friends to work there, it took him 2 months to get there, and after 3 weeks, he left because the manager yelled at him in front of other people for no reason. And today, with so many years of hair experience, working many years in New York City, I never have been treated as I was in Lifetime, the Life Spa manager, she was verbally abusing me for a long time since I started working there. After all, I got terminated from work, telling me that I'm not the right "fit" for her, this kid has no license and experience how to run a business, many of the people who work in this department have no experience, example: nail technician does facials, has completely no idea what she was doing. I'm happy that I don't work anymore with those idiots, the only question I have is what government in the U.S. allowed this organization to spread like ### all over, creating a work place, not for people as humans, only for slaves who work for pennies and they are treated like a piece of ### because what is $10 per hour today? It's nothing. It's a big shame for U.S. citizens to work for that about of money today. So if someone thinks about going to work at Lifetime Fitness, think twice before u make any decisions. This place is dirty, I've never seen someone mop the floor for 8 months, that's why the quality of the service in the entire club is evened out with zero. They get what they pay for, that why members don't know about many things and they don't know why the service has been provided that way because they pay pennies and harassing employees. I will never recommend to anyone to work there.

This Club is controlled by women majorities staff and if you are a member or staff with a bit of testosterone or they don't like you they will fabricate any malicious reason to get ride of you. It's sad that LifeTime corporate allow this reverse racism gang bang behaviors that would really bring the company reputation to the [censor] hole. I assume a class action suit is in the pipes !
LifeTime Berkley Heights, NJ caters to many haters and racists bigots that hate Arab alike and gays. Their staff geared to fuel hate and bigotry and if you complain they will gang up on you and harass you, follow your every move in the GYM. it reminds me as a sectarian/Nazi camp where many ( including certain staff members) feel invincible privileged and its okay to harass and intimidate minorities and that the club as if was simply built for privileged few and their stature in the community but forgot that America for many years struggled to pass stringent Federal laws to weed off such bigots and America we will continue and will succeed.
For many years since the club was opened I was harassed time and time again insulted and called names by either " the Elite local Princes" or Staff. Lifetime did nothing to help me. Even their manager Paul Russo attempted to beat me up when I complained, He was lucky I did bring charges against him. Often when I complained they gang up on me generated fictitious Local Elites as witnesses and contradict my story. This proves to you how much corrupt lifetime is. Recently they hired and corrupt ex-cop as from Texas as general manager to cover their hate trails, It's true the club is built like a country club but it is a country club that caters to certain groups far from your normal poor Americans, the Groups Lifetime Target are the one with lots of money, many of them are racist and Haters.
scammed of my money
I came to USA on business trip of 2 months. I told the member service team to charge me for 2 months. No contract was emailed to me and when I asked them if things are closed, I was told that you need to give one month notice. So they charged me $70 for a complete month even when I will not be using their service. I had specifically asked for 2 months membership and even corporate office guys just read the terms. They asked me to go through policies y. There is no term in their dictionary called as customer satisfaction. I have been to gym in UK and India and had wonderful experiences. However, Lifetime already has lots of members and doesn't bother is few leave. Their motto is just to get money and then forget.I am never gonna join LT again and will never recommend anyone. Worst fitness club. No value for members.

membership termination
I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness since 2010 and have enjoyed an uneventful membership at the club thus far. I have had nothing but good things to say to friends and family about the club since it first opened in the Houston area and have referred many new members to the club over the years. It is definitely a great gym experience, everything...

I often see complaints about the outdoor pool at the Flagship location and echo the sentiments of many, many other members. When the pool opens, typically Memorial Weekend, it is packed each and every Friday-Sunday. I attend a 7:15 AM cycle class and another after that so by 10 AM I am looking to move to the pool area to read the paper and relax. Unfortunately, by 10 AM almost every lounge chair is reserved with a white LTF locker room towel and usually a magazine. A number of these chairs stay empty "reserved" well past 2 in the afternoon. LTF needs to have a manager police this area to free up chairs for those of us who walk around this sea of "reserved" chairs looking for somewhere to sit immediately.
This LTF location also needs to offer "Member Only" weekends at the pool to accommodate those of us who pay $134-$245 per month to belong to the club. On any weekend the Guest Sign-In sheet at this location is 40-70 names long and 99% of these guests are out at the pool. I would be really interested to see what the pool guest to LTF member conversion rate is. I can safely assume it is next to nothing as most of the guests are high school and college aged people. Take care of the members, offer two weekends a month that are members only.

rude! rude! rude!
I received the worst customer service at the front desk of Lifetime Fitness!
They were rude and cold. I got a VIP pass and came in with my friend and did not bring my ID with me because the front desk had let me in numerous times without an ID before. This time they had insisted that I needed to bring in an ID and were so rude to me. There were three people at the front desk and none of them seemed to know how to resolve my issue. When I asked to go and get my friend from the gym because she droves, they did not want me to go in there and asked me to stay outside and wait for her to finish exercising which can take hours, how unbelievable! When they finally decided to take me in, they had called security to go in there with me and treated me like a criminal.
I'm normally a very nice person, but they were just so rude and really made me mad. Not only I will not consider Lifetime ever again, two of my family members are also quitting lifetime after this incident.

Rude! Rude! Rude!
I was treated rudely as well. An older white female manager located at the Collierville, TN site informed me that Lifetime Fitness is a "private club" and she should NOT let me in because I forgot my ID. She was extremely rude and condesending, which caused me to almost snap. Nonetheless, I remained professional and vowed never to return.
canceling
I canceled my membership 1 1/2 years ago via certified!... Now i'm being charged $10 for a flex plan I never agreed to this! It says sof which is total bs! I do not plan on coming back... Now they keep calling 10 x a day asking for the $10 a month screw that... I didn't sign a contract for this... These. Guys are crazy I get a e mail saying pending termination on membership hell I haven't been in there at all since the day I wrote that I canceled my membership... Nice gym but make sure u really want to join cause resigning from it is a big pain in the butt!
harrassment of the public
About 3 years ago, I called the local Lifetime Fitness in Indianapolis to ask about pricing. I was asked to provide my name and phone number and told that a representative would call me with pricing, which I thought was odd. Someone called me back, and gave pricing information. I told the person I was not interested in a membership, because I found a closer gym with better pricing. I never thought that would lead to THREE YEARS OF HARASSMENT.
After that, every month for three years, I would receive a phone call and mailed letter (even though I never gave them my home address- creepy!) asking me to join Lifetime Fitness. At first, this was just annoying. Now, after three years and no resolution, it is infuriating and possibly making me insane.
On a dozen different occasions I have called Lifetime Fitness and asked to be removed from whatever call list they have put me on. Every time, I am told that my name will be removed. And yet every month, the phone calls and letters keep rolling in. I seriously do not understand why they will not REMOVE ME FROM THEIR CALL LIST.
I have never been a customer of this gym- I have never even set foot in their facility or even told anyone that I might be interested. AND THEY KEEP CALLING. IT IS MAKING ME FREAKING CRAZY.
Today I was finally fed up and when someone from Lifetime called, I answered the phone instead of letting it go to voice mail. A young, uncertain-sounding man answered the phone and didn't know what I was talking about or what to do. He said he was very new (and polite) and didn't know anything about the phone calls. I asked to speak to the manager. He put me on hold, and when he came back told me that the manager was in his office and he would transfer me to his phone line. I was then transferred immediately to a voicemail line that asked for a password in order to leave a message.
I called right back, and told the young man at the front desk that I was taken to a voicemail line, and asked if he could please give the phone directly to the manager because I refused to leave any more messages that would end up being ignored. The young man disappeared again, and when he came back said that the manager refused to talk on the phone. I told the young man my entire situation and how I had been hounded and harassed by these people for a long time, and that I have left many messages and been told many times that my name would be removed from the call list, but the calls continued, against the promises of the company, OVER AND OVER. The young man was very pleasant and seemed completely unaware of what was going on or what to do. I asked him to please tell his manager that I needed to speak with him on the phone and would not leave messages, because I have left many messages that are ignored.
The young man disappeared again, and this time I heard LOUD LAUGHING right next to the phone, from what I assume was the manager laughing about my request. I told the young man I was going to seek legal action against the company, and asked if I could please have the corporate office phone number. The young man said he didn't know the number. I told him the manager would have it. He disappeared for a moment, came back, and said the manager REFUSED to give me the corporate phone number. Apparently he is unaware of the existence of Google; so I will have to look up the number myself. But, if their corporate office is just as messed up as this location, then I'm guessing I won't get anywhere.
I really don't think I am asking for much. I JUST WANT THE PHONE CALLS TO STOP. And this company, for whatever reason, seems to think that hounding people with random spam phone calls and refusing to remove them from the call list will somehow make people want to join this gym! What kind of ### thinks this is a good business plan? SERIOUSLY?!
So, in the meantime, I am going to return their offers in kind. I am telling everyone I have ever met to stay the eff away from these people, because this is the worst possible business model of all time. NEVER go near a Lifetime Fitness if your life depends on it, or they will call and mail you for the rest of your adult life!
Also, I think I will have to start sending spam phone calls to this gym's office, because apparently that is the only way they know how to communicate with the public. I hope they enjoy it as much as I have. If you get bored, feel free to call them yourself, maybe ask if they want to buy something from you. The phone number is [protected].
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for reading.

stealing
Several times now my wife has taken the Team Fitness classes and once she tried to stop taking the classes and requested the payment to be stopped the club continued to charge for several months. When we talked to the club we were told that they could not authorize the credit back only the corporate office can do that. Once we contacted the corporate office then we are told we have to speak to our local club. I have received only one month refunded from the several months of charging beyond the time required. Lifetime pays the trainers and sales advisers by commission of what they get from the members. This type of practice is similar to the "Fox watching the hen house". The trainers and staff do not want to give the money back because then they make less money. I highly recommend to anyone joining Lifetime Fitness to not pay for ANY classes that are not free. If you do, just beware that Lifetime WILL continue to charge you for services not rendered.
