Lack of customer service
I have been a loyal Macy’s customer for years, both in store and online. My credit card reached platinum level and I maintained that for quite a long time. However, after finding myself dealing with their customer service representatives, I have decided that my dollars will go elsewhere.
All I needed to do was put a block on my card. That’s it. My card had been misplaced and I didn’t want it to be used should it have fallen into the wrong hands. Macys website walked me through how to report the card lost but then gave a “We are unable to process at this time. Call customer service” so I called them. The laughing and extremely loud conversations in the background of the agent were off putting. The agent did not seem to care at all and was doing the bare minimum with speaking to me. He wanted so much personal information, including a code sent to my cell (which never showed) and he refused to help until I could provide the code. ALL I WANTED WAS TO LOCK MY CARD UNTIL I COULD LOCATE IT. The experience was so poor and he was so hard ti deal with that I hung up. I then tried the online chat which was almost as frustrating. It is several steps to try and protect your account from potential fraud, but one simple step to close your account. So that’s what I did.
Macys, you blew it. All you had to do was lock my card. I wasn’t asking for money, I wasn’t demanding discounts or special treatment, I just needed your assistance with protecting my account.
Very poor decision by Macys to outsource. Even poorer decision to let this platinum card holder walk away.
Unable to file incident report at Macy's in Boynton Beach, FL
On June 8, 2022 I fell in the Macy's Boynton Beach Mall FL location. At the time I was hurt and upset and did not file an incident report. I was told that I could file it at a later date. Since that time, I went to the store and spoke to two administrative employees, Jillian and Doris. Jillian told me that she would call me the next day once she checked if I could still file the incident report. I have not received any call back and have tried to contact her at the store. I am not interested in suing Macy's. I need the incident report so that my medical insurance will cover my injuries. I don't know what else to do and am looking for any avenue that can help me.

Macys; service and credit card - Awful
I never received the hard credit card so i could not set up an online account.
After a while i received a call from the bank that does the collections. i mentioned that i had not received my card; thus, i could not set up an online account and to alert Macys about it. still no card and no calls from Macy;s customer service. Then I went to te actual store customer service, they could not do much but to take a payment and provided a phone where to call. days later still no card and no calls from customer service, but another call from the bank that can only take money, not solutions.
Well... i called customer service, spoke to Maria Blanc and Valentina Acosta, after three transfers. no much help there. Valentina a bit sarcastic and bothered throughout the conversation. . at the end i agreed to pay the "discounted fees" and close the account. the total purchase was $82 and i paid in fees $67 dollars. that is crazy.
In summary, i will advice people to NEVER visit Macy's
Refund Policy
On April 7, 2022, I purchased a fine jewelry Gemstone ring online because the Macy's Department store has closed in Salisbury, MD and the closet store to me is located 1 1/2 away from my city.
When I received the ring, I was very displeased with the texture and color of the middle gemstone. So, I called Macy's customer services to inquire about a refund. The Customer Services representative informed me that I could not return my ring because I am over the 60 days return policy. I advised that I understood the 60 days return policy and I take full accountability for that, but why is there no option to the customer to receive a gift card to the store. I further advised her that most stores has a refund policy that offers their customers a gift card.
I expressed that Macy's would not be losing any money if this was an option. I further expressed that providing an option for customers to received a gift card is a great initiative to ensure their customer's experience in stores and online are pleasurable and continuing to make their customers top priority in the services that they provide.
In closing, I am very disappointed, frustrated, unsatisfied with Macy's refund policy and how I am stuck with a $593.00 Gemstone ring that Macy's would not return for a gift card. I have been a loyal customer to Macy's for over a decade. I enjoy shopping in Macy's and most of the time their employees are very polite and helpful. However, I will take into account if I want to continue to spend my hard earn money at Macy's as their refund policy does not offer other alternatives that are best business practices for their customer and store as well.

Desired outcome: My desire outcome is that Macy's would provide me with a gift card to their store in the amount that I purchased the ring and began to provide gift cards as an option if the customer does not return the item within the 60 days time frame.

Dear Macy’s In honor of our fiftieth wedding anniversary my wife Juliana Nordhoff on 06/09/2020 purchased me a Citizen Fine Watch S for $109.98 PLUS paid $29.99 for the WorryNoMore Three (3) Year Protection Program at Macy’s College Mall 3068 East Third Street, Bloomington, IN 47401.
UNFORTUNATELY the watch has quit working long before expiration of the three year warranty.
UNFORTUNATELY The Macy’s Store in Bloomington, Indiana no longer exists, no others are anywhere close, so returning it to Macy’s (other than by US Mail if so instructed) isn’t possible.

Chanel Perfume
Hi there, I purchased a Chanel perfume at Macy's in Mall of America this past Sunday June 20,2022. I got the Chanel perfume which cost $160USD plus tax cause it was the one with the travel spray package that comes in the box. The normal value of the perfume without the travel spray package is $148USD plus tax, the one I bought was the $160usd plus tax one and that was the last stock they had so I bought it. My family and I were from Manitoba, we were only in Minneapolis for 2 days so on Monday we had to drive 8 hours back to Manitoba. So after we got home in Winnipeg my mom opened the box and then we found out that the travel spray was broken. And no we didn't break it, it was broken already. The glass was shattered and the perfume already evaporated so that means it was broken for a while now cause the other end of the glass has dissolved already cause it was just the top half of the glass that remains. It is such a hassle that we could have bought the cheaper one if the saleslady showed it to us in the first place. Now I regret my purchase and my mom is disappointed. I hope you can help me or at least give me a refund of the difference cause we didn't even get the chance to use the travel spray.
It looked like the 2 sales associate already knew that it was broken because they didn't even bother to show us or open the box to reveal that the travel spray was broken, they just tied the box and put it in the paperbag after I had paid. Note that the box was on top of the shelf so it might have fell beforehand. Why did they bother to sell it even though its broken?, it's so unfair and I'm hoping to get a refund for the difference on the cheaper one. Chair - warranty
Macy's delivered a chair on March 27 and on April 7 I called regarding our chair started sinking on seat and especially the back of the chair. They sent someone and told me that it did not meet warranty. I called several times asking what they plan to do Asked to send me warranty. Did not. They sent someone out and I asked for report and the pictures he took and they said no - property of Macys.
Then to the manufacturer and they said contact seek help with Macys. Nothing. I contacted the corporate office and sent a email - Nothing.

I ordered these Charter Club Damask 100% Cotton Supima Cotton sheet set; full size on November 28th of last year. I started using them in January and they are already falling apart. They have several tears in them. I have never had sheets tear or fall apart within the first year. I'm disappointed.

Macys has the worst customer service, I purchased a set of wine glasses. the set arrive missing a glass and the other glasses were clearly used. I contacted Macys customer service, they instructed me to send the defective product back so I did. Macys sent me an email saying the received the return but they say it is "incomplete" so they are not only charging me for the return, they are keeping it as well. So I am paying for a set of wine glasses that have been returned to Macys.

Macy's wedding registry rewards expire in 6 months
Macy's will give a bride 'rewards' as an incentive to register with them. Keep in mind this is NOT a gift card. You have only 6 months to use it and then your balance is gone forever. Macy's is not afraid to rip you off for registering with them. Keep this in mind when you consider where to register.
I just came across my Macy's registry star rewards card. Unfortunately it expires SIX months after your wedding. How have you even settled in by then and went through all your gift cards to even use the star rewards?
Desired outcome: My registry rewards should be like a gift card with no expiration since these rewards were offered to me as a percentage of what people ordered from Macy's for me. If you offer rewards, stand by them!

I am Mona Shirkhani. I bought a bedframe on 04/26/2022 with salescheck number of [protected] and they suppose to delivery on May14th, but they didn't ship. I called them and they said next time delivery after 2 weeks, they called me again and cancelled delivery. I rescheduled for third time again they made some excused. Something wrong with delivery company or whatever. I went to the store to see manager and talk to Diandra the manager of afternoon shift and she was not able to solve the problem and said reschedule. I rescheduled for fourth time and made my day off to be at home and waiting for delivery, they never showed up. I called Diandra again and she said we will refund you with $150 extra, because we are not able to delivery. I said ok then refund me, it's been 5 days and they never refund.
I have complain about the system, if you are not able to arrange a delivery then why you sell the item. I am upset about your manager who is not able to solve the problem and she didn't know what was wrong. Beside, I try to call Diandra and also furniture Dpt, but they never answer. I still don't have my money.
Fitting rooms
I am an Associate at Macy's, along with other Associates, recently on several occasions have had issues with asking the opposite sex customers to please leave the fitting room after other customers have complained. Recently one or more customers have expressed about there not being a sign stating that they could not enter. Also one customer continued to speak to me rudely and then asked for a Manager. The Manager came and then the customer abruptly continued to complain and later ended his conversation with yelling out B----. While waiting on another customer they expressed to me how because another Associate was so busy they took matters in their own hands and asked the opposite sex to leave because the other customers were complaining as well as themselves and their children were also uncomfortable with them in there. They said the opposite sex finally came out however the complaints continued to come.

My $1028.50 payment went to someone else's account
I had my credit union, TLC Fibre Federal Credit Union, send a cashier's check in the amount of $1,028.50 to pay off my account on May 3, 2022. On May 11, 2022, Macy's cashed the cashier's check and applied it to the WRONG account. I have been waiting and waiting. This is NOT my error and my account needs to be credited immediately. My bank faxed the cashed cashier's check and they
"opened a ticket" and said I have to wait six weeks. This is absolutely unacceptable. I want this resolved immediately and I will close out my account.
I do not want to wait one day. It cannot be this difficult to find my payment. I need someone to contact me from upper management or I will take this to an attorney.

Raymond Weil watch sent in for battery
Purchased 2 Raymond Weil watches at Macy's and purchased extended service plans. I've had the watches for several years and had the batteries replaced without problem. 1 month ago both batteries in my watches died, and I dropped off my watches for replacement. Batteries were replaced and, unbeknownst to me, they took out scratches and now are charging me $75 per watch, $150 total. They never okayed it with me. When I was called and informed to pick up my watches, NEVER did the employee tell me that I owed $75 for each watch. Tonight I went to pick up my watches, and I was told I owed $150 for the watches and I refused. I asked to speak with the manager and they said to come back the following day to talk to someone.
Desired outcome: I didn't authorize Macys to do anything to my watch other than replace the batteries. I want my watches back without charge.
MAC Studio Cream to Powder & Liquid
I visited Macy's department store at Aventura Mall exactly 7 minutes before closing which is 9 p.m. Upon arriving at the MAC counter immediately, I asked the saleswoman did she have any MAC Studio cream to powder NW 45. She replied, "I have plenty in stock." I informed her that I desired to purchase a few things. Immediately, she responded that she was closed. Reviewing that the time had not reached quite 9 p.m. yet, I requested for a manager. Then, I was informed that she could not even called out for a manager. This saleswoman at Aventura Mall would not provide her name and said, "I am not employed by Macy's but MAC company." Needless to say, I walked out disturbed and went to Westland Mall the next day and purchased two Studio cream to powder and a liquid foundation. These three items totaled $117.70 dollars; I certainly, believe that my sale was worth this saleswoman's time. Thus, I neglected to mention that I informed her that I needed the liquid dose for an airplane flight, this too did not make her recant the decision to not service the customer.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and be respected as a customer that the purchase I made at Westland Mall store should not have occurred since considering, I was in the Aventura store before the closing time.

They do not let you change a pending payment. I scheduled a payment of 2 time the required amount because I like to keep my accts current or under a $100 however, I have many returns that would end up with a with a balance that would leave me with a balance so low that I use the extra money to pay more on another card. They have changed the ability for you to revise your payment amount or have hidden the ability to do so. Customer service is non existent or may as well be...it's off shore in Philippines and you can't understand a word they are saying or you end up talking over each. Macys has turned into just another junk store.
Desired outcome: Bring back the ability to edit pending payments.

I am writing to request the investigation and correction of the following information Macy’s placed on my credit report.
On or about April 13, 2022, I received a notification via email regarding a 30-day late payment Macy’s placed on my credit report with all 3 major credit bureaus. I’ve had my Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s account since July of 2015, and I have never made a late payment on either account. I have always had auto pay to pay all my bills to avoid paying my bills late.
I believe in December of 2021 or January 2022, Macy’s cancelled my auto without notifying me either by phone, mail, or email. When I contacted Macy’s, I was told by a very rude representative that Macy’s is not obligated to inform me of such. On April 23, 2022, I contacted Macy’s once again regarding the inaccurate information placed on my credit report and I was told once again that Macy’s is not obligated to inform me of such.
Macy’s claimed that they tried to pull the money from my account, and they were insufficient funds, and it did not go through. Based on my bank, Wells Fargo, they were sufficient funds in the account not only Macy’s payment but other accounts. I believe that Macy’s system made an error and Macy’s refused to fix the error they made that causes damages to my credit report. This matter needs to get sorted out immediately.
The way I was treated by Macy’s customer service was very unprofessional and I do not feel appreciated as a value customer for the past 7 years.
This inaccurate information has affected my chances of getting loans and credit.
This inaccurate information causes my score to drop from 770 to 650. Because of the mistakes on my credit report, I have been wrongfully denied credit recently for several banks, which was highly embarrassing and has negatively impacted my status.
I hereby request that you make these changes within 30 business days, to avoid any violation of the FCRA. Please send me a copy of the changed credit report once you have made the changes.

First, I am attempting to return an item but the site won't pull up my last purchase. So I tried to call them directly. Guess what, one more company that stays hidden from it's customers. NO phone number provided. I also purchased a bed from Macy's and it is very poor quality. It was necessary for me to buy online as I am disabled and can't drive so I was unable to try it out. When I decided I couldn't take it anymore I called and found out that in addition to the re-stocking fees, which fairly I knew about but "depreciation" on a 6 month mattress deemed it worthless. The fact that as anyone would, I had them dispose of my old bed so, no fall back there.

My husband and I purchased a sofasleeper with his credit card on 10/21/21 at store 492, Thousande Oaks, CA, and paid in full. We were given a receipt at that time, but to check on status, I have had to contact the sales person periodically, as Macy's has not provided anything else in writing concerning the status of this purchase, possible delivery date, or how to contact the manufacturer (or whomever is responsible for delivery) to get information directly. We had asked to have the item by xmas 2021, but were informed it would be 4-6 months before it would be delivered. When I contacted the store most recently in March, the representative looked into it. When I called again, the assistant texted me a copy of his search, which showed that the item was in the local warehouse (Facility Ref# Loc: LAX 6117047), with an available date of March 26, 2021. He said it should be delivered shortly thereafter. I have called Macy's at least twice since, only to find out they have no further information on the item, but the manager said it "looks like it won't be delivered until some time in June." I have tried to determine the status directly with the information at hand, to no avail. This is totally unacceptable. I need it by May 31st, as my husband will be undergoing surgery June 1st. Why would the search show the sofabed is available since last month, yet it's just sitting there? I have no way to bring pressure to bear on the manufacturer, or whomever has it in their control, in order to get it timely delivered. The Macy's personnel don't seem inclined to help get it delivered either. I need to get that sofabed delivered asap, as it is already over 6 months since purchased.
