Mae Fence Company I was very happy with the install crew!

I was very happy with the install crew! They were professional and left my yard nice and neat with a newly installed fence. We had several days of rain prior to the install and I worried that my yard would be a mud mess and my dogs would bring that inside. However, quite the opposite! I would highly recommend Mae Fence Company to my family, friends, and neighbors.

Buyer Beware! You don't get what you pay for with this company. I was told that the fence I ordered would be installed in one day. 2 1/2 months after the initial install date, I still don't have what I ordered. However, this company went ahead and charged my credit card without my authorization. On install day, they showed up at the wrong address, without the final plans/measurements etc. and without the gates! And they made changes to the plans on that same day because they couldn't install the approved design. They weren't ready for the job and to this day have not delivered what I ordered. I have a used gate that doesn't match the fence and another gate that doesn't function properly. They also left marks on my driveway that are still there today. I was told that they would make it right for me by delivering the correct gate, fixing the broken gate and adding another gate today. THEY WERE A NO SHOW. They didn't bother to call to let me know. When I called moments ago checking on it, nobody was available to answer questions or provide explanation.

I enjoyed my experience with Mae Fence Company. Tyler (sales rep) was very professional and answered all my questions. The quote was competitive. The process flowed exactly as explained. On the day of installation, the installers arrived early and were friendly. We discussed where the new gate would be placed and how it would open. The crew went to work tearing down the old fence and installed the new. It was a one-day job and the crew finished and cleaned up their mess. I have received so many compliments from friends and neighbors. I would highly recommend Mae Fence Company for a quality cedar wood fence.

We had a ton of issues with Mae Fence. First, they changed the installation date multiple times. I get weather delays but there was nothing but sunshine on our original date and yet it was still moved. Second, they called the day before one of the dates and said our chosen picket width was not available, Beau left on the voicemail that we would get a discount if we called to confirm the new size was okay, when I called to hesitantly accepted the new size Michelle said there would be no discount after all. Finally the crew showed up to install. They arrived with prefab panels in surprise the originally ordered size of pickets. The prefab panels were bizarre with nails missing, nails not hitting the crossbeams so they just poke through the picket into the air, half pickets scattered in (no particular placement just whatever to make it work), and pickets that were so badly cracked/split that they were in some cases split the entire length of the board. We had the call before you dig service come out but that didn't stop them or even deter them from digging straight into the cable/internet (and likely only missing the electric because of its depth, they legit dug straight over it almost like they were trying to hit it). We have 2 people working from home who lost 2 days of pay because the crew were so careless. They also dug through my recently windowed neighbor's phone line. When we tried to explain to them what was going on we discovered they spoke so little English that communication was impossible. We ended up stopping payment on the check in order to get them to return to fix the issues. On top of what I already mentioned, there was a gap at the edge of the gate so large you could slide a hand through, the gate section of the fence was missing a 4 by 4 post, and there was a bowed crossbeam. Because they were missing half their money due to my stop payment of the check, they were prompt in responding to my concerns but obviously passed none of the specifics along to Vince who they sent to fix things because he arrived with the wrong pickets, no 4 by 4 post, and no crossbeam replacement. Vince was a hard worker and worked to correct many of the picket issues (he replaced all of the split/cracked pickets that we pointed out, tried to find the nails to nowhere to remove and actually put nails into the crossbeams, and even moved some of the half pickets to less obvious places against posts or turn them to create oddly sized pickets but hey at least they have the dog ear shape). He also worked on the gap in the gate and corrected the issue which was developing in just 3 days time which was causing it to catch and not open/close properly. He returned a second day to finish picket replacement (he wasn't sent with enough even after the initial being sent with the wrong ones issue) and added in the missing 4 by 4. He told us we would have to again contact the office about the crossbeam. Another guy was sent to deal with the crossbeam and he felt it was appropriate to get sassy about how many trips they were having to make for my fence. He did replace the board and I released the stop payment. Since then we have had to go back around the fence with nails as we found over 20 places where pickets were only attached on one crossbeam (so they would flap in the breeze) and we have found 2 more nails that were through the picket but into nothing on the other side (we removed and correctly replaced those). Unless you want to deal with a lot of follow up and miss multiple days of work when they are careless, I do not recommend Mae Fence. I am giving them 2 stars because they did eventually finish, Vince was very nice, and at a distance my neighbors keep complimenting my fence (excluding the one with the phone line damage as she is rightfully still upset with them).

I am a second time mae fence customer. Bought a home in 2014 and they installed an aluminum fence, family grew and we purchased a new home in September . I had 2 different experiences but non the less, still a great experience. I am a car salesman, so luckily I understand the delay in material. Unlike those, who probably were the ones screaming at the 15 year old Kroger kid about no toilet paper. In 2014, we had zero issues. Install went on without any issues. Fence looked wonderful, the crew worked hard, cleaned up, and I had my gate installed first day. I am seeing negative reviews about gates, I am sure a small business like mae fence this is definitely harmful for their business and growth. But speaking as a car salesman, who can not find cars right now, I understand. Now, the experience this year was different. My sales rep was great, my HOA only allows vinyl fences. Which if I paid attention, I would of never bought into an HOA so strict.Put down the deposit, a few weeks later, I did receive a call the material did not come in and no ETA. Again, being a small business, im sure if they had the material they would of installed the fence.So I understand. I would rather wait for the better material, then mae fence be dishonest and buy less then superior product.I finally got a call in April - material finally in, they got us in about 2 weeks later. The finished product looks great. I had 1 small issue I had seen where the vinyl slats were too loose and had called in and was very honest, they said they were about a week out or so on repairs. The repair person, came out about 4 days later and fixed the loose panel.Right now folks, things are not what they used to be. Im glad not everyone can see how different supplies are right now. Come buy a car, microchips are nowhere to be found.. and if you find what you want, easily 30% more now then 2 years ago.

We needed to replace the cedar caps on our fence after less than two years from installation because they had a lot of weathering and growth on them beyond what we were able clean off and stain. They willingly replaced all 26 Cedar caps. The only cost with me driving out to their facility to pick them up which was about 30 minutes away. Fortunately these are still covered by the warranty.

We recently moved and wanted a good fence for privacy and to keep kids inside the yard, and needed it quickly. We called many different companies, and none would work with our timelines or budget. Mae Fence was the most responsive and worked with us end to end, from options we wanted and needed, all the way down to calling 811 for us. They were on time, the crew was efficient, and most importantly, we love our fence! Michelle from Mae was incredibly helpful all throughout the process. We highly recommend them for fencing needs!

This company and its project specialist and the installers were very friendly. The gentlemen that installed the fence were very professional. They showed up within the time we were given. I contacted Mae Fence to remove two sections of an old metal fence and replace them with a wood privacy fence and gate. It was obvious that they were committed to ensuring that I was 100% satisfied with the final result and I particularly appreciated that since this project was likely on the smaller side. I love my new fence and I feel like it really puts the finishing touch on my backyard.

My husband and I recently got a fence installed by Mae Fence last week. I must say, we are impressed! We saved for year for this fence and did our due diligence in research for months before settling on this company and we are happy with our choice! The fence we got is a cedar privacy fence with a Hampton top. From the sales person to the final install, we felt like a valued customer and they truly do operate as a family-owned business. Highly recommend!

Unprofessional company with Adam the manager who acts lower than a used car sales person. Lied, bullied the customer and tried to cover up many mistakes. Unqualified workers and very poor material. Do not use this company. Pay a little more with another company that offers service to the customer and better quality product.

Mae Fence came out and installed a 6 foot privacy fence for me and from the start the experience was impeccable. From the estimate, scheduling and install, the experience was amazing! Ladies in the office are super kind and sweet to work with and Adam and Tim to make sure the installation was exactly what I wanted and the install crew was on time, fast and fence looks amazing! I am beyond impressed with how beautiful our new fence is! Mae, from start to finish, has been a pleasure to work with! From first talking with Kevin, who explained the process and who answered any of our questions with patience, to talking with Michelle on the phone, who was beyond helpful and so eager to help answer any questions or concerns I had. We had a minor issue with a gap in the bottom of part of our fence and gate ( due to our yard being uneven), nothing terribly big, but we wanted it remedied as we are planning on getting a small dog and didn't want to worry about the fur baby squeezing out... Mae was so responsive and didn't hesitate to send a crew out to remedy the issue and we are so very appreciative! I am absolutely in love with our new fence and my big Golden Girl loves roaming the yard freely now! Can't wait to get our new tiny fur baby and watch her run and play freely in her new yard! Thanks Mae!

Scheduled appointment was ontime, workers that came onto my property were courteous and respectful of my property, they cleaned up after themselves and managed to to a really large job in 2 days. I work from home and was not disturbed in any way the whole time they were here. Its refreshing to have hired a company that knows what they are doing and has a great work ethic. Just got a 140ft of cedar 4ft fence installed with a 6ft section and a 8ft transition piece. I wanted to do an as-is replacement of my old fence, but came to find out that my old fence was in violation because it was a shadowbox style privacy fence. Mark at Mae fence was able to work with me to get a a good looking non-privacy style fence instead so that I would be legal. I am glad because I think it looks way better that my old fence! Looks great!

Mae Fence Company 4/21 Mae fence came out to install a 6' privacy fence

4/21 Mae fence came out to install a 6' privacy fence. 1/2 down $2,750 had to be paid prior to them coming out , paid by credit card. Installed in 1 day. We did a walk thru after.wards Workmanship was terrible. Protruding nails, gaps, holes left where old fence had been, hazard. Places where a gate should have been & weren't. etc. I sent 16 images to them of these problems. Couple of days after installation was completed. Agreement was once I was satisfacted of work then I would pay the balance owed to Mae Fence. I have not heard from Mae Fence since images were sent to them , they confirmed they received them & they have auto taken the balance owed out of my bank acct. already without my permission as agreement after my satisfaction of workmanship. There was a language barrier with installers.

Mae Fence Company On 5/12 I went into contract with Mae Fence for installation of an aluminum fence with two gates (have attached photo for job details) and

On 5/12 I went into contract with Mae Fence for installation of an aluminum fence with two gates (have attached photo for job details) and removal of the old fence. The job was to be done 6/24, I a paid a deposit ($2670) for half of the agreed total ($5340) with the understanding I would pay the other half when the job was completed. On 6/24 the company installed the fence, but did not install gates. They also did not remove all of the old fence. On 6.26, they charged me for remaining amount ($2670). I called to inquire when they planned to complete the job, hey were unable to give me an estimate on when the job was done and offered to install plastic mesh. I have two children and a large dog who would jump over/push through plastic mesh so I declined their offer. I called again two weeks later, 7/9 to ask what the status of the job was, again they offered me no estimation of a timeline. When I asked for monetary compensation, they refused.

Mae Fence Company Had a 6-ft vinyl fence installed

Had a 6-ft vinyl fence installed. The installation of the fence is absolutely unacceptable, the entire fence moves constantly. There was a back panel that was to be trenched out to make it level with the rest of the fence, it was twice installed without trenching, we had them remove it and demanded a refund if it wasn't going to be installed correctly. None of the post are concreted in as promised. We have contacted Mae Fence multiple time to correct these installation issues in addition to multiple 1-2 inch gaps in several panels and the incorrectly installed gate, hinges and latch. Calls are never returned. Called again this past week because an entire section came out, was able to submit a "service request" someone showed up with no notice and did not notify of their presence on the property. When I approached this person in the yard and asked questions they could not communicate with me due to a language barrier, then got in their vehicle and left.

I had a new cedar fence installed on Oct 12,2020 there are gap between the slates more them several split bonds one of my post has a piece broken out. And there is a 7 1/2 feet section that has not being installed yet because the person came Oct 16,2020 and didn't have a big enough place and there not support for a section of the fence.

Mae Fence Company On 6/30 Mae fence installers came to install the fence I purchased with company

On 6/30 Mae fence installers came to install the fence I purchased with company. Prior to installation a sales representative named Tyler came to my home in April to draw up the plans and pricing for the fence. It was requested that my fence be tied into my neighbors fence who previously had their fence installed by same company. I was told this would not be an issue. Come 6/30, fence crew came and intalled fence. As I went back with the crew leader to inspect the the finished product, I had no gates installed, the fence was not tied in with my neighbors, and crew left my spicket facuet running. Further, the contract drafted with my deposit I put down stated all this would be completed correctly and also the company was suppose to clean up post hole dirt which the crew did not do that. I have contatced the company multiple times and my neighbor also sent an email with myself attached to it about these issues to be resolved and I have not gotten a repsonse back.

Mae Fence Company 6/24 fence installed

6/24 fence installed. 6/24 advised they did not have a gate with them or the materials to install the trash can barrier paid for. On 6/25 Mae Fence contacted to get the gate and barrier installed. I spoke to Bo C who advised they would install the gate and barrier on 6/27 (no show). On 6/27 email sent to Michelle T regarding the no show and to find out why we were billed the remaining 50% for an incomplete job? Email to Michelle included multiple photos showing the terrible installation and damaged, warped, and broken fencing that was installed. 6/28 contacted Mae Fence spoke to Whitney who spoke to Bo C again, gate and barrier installed 6/28, arrived home at 230pm was advised the crew would be back after 230pm (no show). 6/29 contacted Bo C, multiple photos sent showing warped and damaged fence. 7/2 scheduled for fence repairs (no show) called spoke with Bo C. 7/8 scheduled for repairs (no show) 4966.00 paid no repairs made to date.

Mae Fence Company We had our fence installed months ago

We had our fence installed months ago. I asked for repair of the fence post caps as they were uneven. They sent a repair team that did not tell me they were here and missed several of the crooked fence caps. After they left I called that several fence caps are still uneven, all different heights above the fence and many are crooked and tilted. I also explained that warped boards are keeping the gate from closing and a corner piece of the fence was slapped on diagonally instead of being cut correctly and installed as a 90 degree corner piece should be installed. I was told they would be out with their best team that week to fix the problem. They did not come so I called again to ask when they would be their and was again told they would be out the next week. Wednesday of that week they still had not come so I called to confirm and was told they would be out that Saturday. They did not come to fix the fence that Saturday. I'm so angry I keep getting told they are coming on some vague day and never showing up.

Mae Fence Company Day 1 of fence install-workers are extremely rude from the get go

Day 1 of fence install-workers are extremely rude from the get go. foreman broke a piece of wood and threaten to stab my neighbor. Day 2 of fence install-workers show up for about an house and leave. don't finish the job when i was told it was a 2 day job. my fence posts are not sturdy or set in concrete like i was told. i have videos 1 week later of my fence wobbling like crazy. a big wind storm and this does not stand the test of time. also, my gate does not close properly. the hinges to not line up. i called and someone was supposed to come out on a Saturday and walk the fence with me. no one called or showed up. my wife called 5 times and i called 3 times and no one would call us back. when we finally got a hold of someone they told us a crew would be out 2 days later to start. no one showed up. the left a 3' gap between my fence and another fence. my old fence was right next to my neighbors fence. the fence is about 1' above ground and not flush. they ruined my neighbors flowers and left my old fence in their yard. did not clean up trash.

Mae Fence Company I first contacted Mae's on 11/26 about several problems we had with our fence installation along with pictures

I first contacted Mae's on 11/26 about several problems we had with our fence installation along with pictures. Jeanette emailed back that she had forwarded my concerns onto Melina on 11/28. I emailed Melina on 11/30 and attempted to call her multiple times throughout the week, each time someone different answering and saying that Melina would call me back. She never did, so I emailed Jeanette again on 12/5 letting her know that no one was getting back to me. She responded on 12/9 that she had escalated the problem to the appropriate manager. Melina called me back on 12/9 to inform me that a repair crew would be at my house on 12/15 between 10a-12 to make the repairs and that production was aware of the supplies needed. The crew never showed up, so I called again and spoke with Michelle on 12/16 who said the crew would be there between 3-4:30. The crew showed up and "didn't have the right tools" and left. I spoke with Michelle and she assured me that my problems were being escalated to management and that she would be my primary contact in resolving this. Ashley called on 12/18 to tell me their "leader" would be at the house on either 12/19 or 12/20 between 10a-4p. No one showed up either day. My husband and I have now wasted over 18 hours of our time waiting for them to come to our house to make simple repairs. We have stayed home from work when they said they were supposed to be here and no one ever calls to notify us that they will not be coming. We are beyond frustrated and just want our fence to be fixed.

Mae Fence Company I had a full backyard privacy fence installed by Mae Fences in March costing roughly $6500

I had a full backyard privacy fence installed by Mae Fences in March costing roughly $6500. At the time I was told I had a 2-year warranty on the fence and if I provided the company with reviews on social sites, I would receive an additional 1 year on the warranty for a total of 3 years. As per this, my fence remains under warranty either way. I contacted Mae Fence in July explaining deterioration that has occurred with my fence in just the short 1.5 years that I've had it. I sent along both photo and video documentation of the issues and places that needed repairs--I also told them at this time that the entire fence has deteriorated at a much quicker pace than expected, it's already nearly in the condition of the fence that was replaced (13 years prior). At the time, I also pointed out that the actual fence that was installed/delivered was not the actual style I had requested. When the sales person initially worked with me, we agreed I would have the same style of fence as my previous one. However, after I returned home and saw that the fence was not the style that I'd requested, I accepted it as I assumed it would serve the same cause as the previous. That said, because of the deterioration there are significant spaces in the fence and my niece and nephew are able to slide their fingers through where my neighbors dogs sometimes come. I would have continued not to care about the incorrect style instillation had it not come to this quickened deterioration. However, because of these problems, I have determined it was important to bring the style up with them as well, as I was told that I "would get the same style as the previous" by their salesman. I have contacted Mae fence no less than 12 times at this point both by email (and have all documentation in email) and telephone. I have provided specific details of the deterioration through photographs and video. In my contact I have received no reply other than one "we will get back to you." I have yet to hear anything from the company and we are now in December .

Mae Fence Company After researching multiple companies I decided to do business with Mae Fence

After researching multiple companies I decided to do business with Mae Fence. They were one of the higher estimates, but seemed like a reputable company. I had a cedar picket fence installed by Mae Fence in May . There were a few bumps along the way, but I felt that these issues were satisfactorily resolved. On Aug 6, 2020 I noticed multiple pickets were showing signs of defect. I took a picture of one of the pickets and sent it to Tyler at Mae Fence. He told me that he had forwarded the picture to the production manager and they would contact me for repairs. I was never contacted. I called the office of Mae Fence on Tuesday August 18 to follow up and spoke to Jocelyn. She asked me to send her an email with pictures and she would forward to the repairs department. I sent her an email with pictures that evening. On Thursday August 20 I received a phone call from a Mae Fence worker stating he was at my house to replace the defective pickets. I was not home at the time, but verbally gave the ok to complete the work. Upon arriving home I noticed the pickets were replaced , but not with the same shape picket, or type of board as the original fence. I took pictures and sent another email to Jocelyn at Mae Fence. On Friday August 21 I called Jocelyn @ Mae Fence to follow up with my 2nd email. I explained the problem to her and she informed me there was nothing they could do as they were no longer doing business with the company who they purchased the original pickets from. I asked to speak to the manager, as I found this unacceptable. Jocelyn then told me there was no one in the office except her and another secretary. (This is 2020, I find it unusual that those who weren't in the office couldn't be reached or speak with me via cell phone ) I told her this was unacceptable and that I intended to file a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com. Jocelyn asked me if I wanted a phone call from a manager on Monday, August 24,2020. I said yes. I paid 2000.00 for a fence that now has pickets that don't match. I feel that this is an unacceptable solution. I trusted Mae Fence and feel they have not resolved this issue to my satisfaction.

Mae Fence Company We have a contract with Mae Fence dated 5/8 for $3,450 worth of work to be completed, which included replacing a 40 year old privacy fence

We have a contract with Mae Fence dated 5/8 for $3,450 worth of work to be completed, which included replacing a 40 year old privacy fence along the north boundary of our property with scalloped cedar privacy fence and the installation of an aluminum gate at the east side of the property. On 5/15, we provided a deposit and work was set for completion on 6/17. Because there have been problems throughout the installation process that I believe are excessive and noteworthy, I have included that history below; however, the unresolved problem as it stands today is that my installation has not been completed in full and the project completion has continuously been delayed. I've sent pictures with the issues (damaged/incomplete gate and wood that is stamped as being Douglas Fir not Cedar) to Mae. Despite their acknowledgement of these issues, the problems have not been resolved and we just want installation to be over with. On the 16th of July, we were notified that the crew would be there the following day as scheduled; however, on the 17th they were a no show. Each day following there were continued delays or no shows for various reasons, of which the last excuse was that they didn't have enough wood and were waiting for the posts to arrive from Indianapolis. Installation would be (we were told) no later than June 23rd. When the crew arrived on 6/23, they came with the wrong posts from what was noted in the contract and the gate they had was covered in a cement powered dust so that only 10% of it was visible. What was visible appeared to be scratched with some rusting. Due to bringing to wrong materials, the project was delayed again and we were told that if we wanted the fence completed in a timely manner, the next available spot for installation would be the Fourth of July. (Yes, as in major construction demo just feet away from my neighbor's July 4th BBQ. Oy Vey). I was assured that at least two crew members would be the same as those who came on the 23rd since they were familiar with our contract. When the crew arrived on July 4th, it was madness. None of them were the same crew. The foreman spoke some broken English at the beginning of the installation; however, when things started going wrong, he just kept repeating, "No comprendo ingles." The others did not speak any English. Upon their arrival (and when the foreman remembered how to speak English), my husband greeted him and reviewed the work to be completed. When I came out of the house about 10 minutes later, I found that the foreman was demolishing part of a new fence not located on the drawing and not to be torn down. A crew had also installed posts prior to measuring the gate (it wasn't even there) and had to uninstall them when I noted it was an aluminum gate, creating a huge concrete mess on my walkway, which was not cleaned up. They also claimed they didn't have the necessary materials to finish the job such as the gate and some of the panels. When I asked to look at the contract he was holding, he showed a contract that was not the one that we had signed. I went into the house and retrieved our copy of the contract to show him the disparity, at which point he no longer spoke English. I began a text conversation with a Mae associate (Melinda), who acknowledged that this was a subcontractor and apologized for the contract confusion. I also noted to Melinda that the previous gate that was brought to the property was so dirty the condition could not be determined; however, from what was visible, there was some damage and rusting. I was ensured a new gate would be issued with all necessary components for installation, and a crew would be back on July 6th with the materials necessary to complete the project. This date was then postponed to July 8th, at which point they did arrive but with incorrect materials. The crew had to cut the panels on site for several sections since they were smaller than the standard issue ones. The foreman could not cut a scallop and laughed as he acknowledged it was off from the others and was "bad" but that is all he could do to match it. We noted that the aluminum gate was scratched, had a handful of rust spots, and was missing caps at the top of the posts, which is necessary to keep water out. We also noted that the foreman used wood that wasn't cedar to construct a portion of the panels. The wood is a different color and is stamped noting the mill it originated from and that it was Fir and not Cedar. I had to reach out to Mae Fence several times to receive a response. We were told that a crew would be out to finish repair the gate and finish installation on the bad panels on July 20th. When the crew arrived, they spray painted portions of the gate but some exposed rust and scratching remain. They didn't have caps for the tops but acknowledged that they should be there. They also said the 2x4s used appeared to be interior wood and not insect or weather/rot resistant Cedar as in our contract. They took measurements and left without replacing impacted panels. Again we reached out the same day via email (as we always had) to indicate what was going on and to reiterate the installation on this project is not complete, yet no one reached out to us. Finally I was able to reach Melina, who said that the owner (Tim) would be out on July 31st. On July 30th we were told that he needed to reschedule. When asked if he would be arriving with a crew to complete the job, we were told that it would just be him. Not only is it frustrating to be given the run around again, but to then know that even if Tim shows up for our rescheduled date of August 7th at 1pm, nothing will actually get done. It will go back on the books for a crew to maybe complete or maybe not complete at some point in the future. I have a check for the balance our of $3,450 total and would love for Tim to finish this job so I can be done with Mae. If you are reading this sentence- congratulations as I assume you read the entire post, and you deserve a reward for following this incredible dumpster fire of an installation.
