Great service well priced
We needed to get rid of things left at my mother-in-laws house after she moved and a friend referred me to MaxSold. I was daunted by what felt like an impossible job. I was pleased every step of the way, made money from the sale and it was easy. The staff are responsive and helpful. They are interested in generating value and they know what will sell and how to market things. They took care of everything beginning to end, and it was exciting to watch the auction unfold day by day. I would have been happy to break even, and was surprised to make a pretty substantial profit. It was well worth the money. Thank you MaxSold team!
A very Well Managed platform!
After years as a buyer, we've held two sales now. And just signed up for our 3rd! Unlike many other things, this MaxSold platform runs exactly as described... and you receive immediate support should you require any assistance. Recommended the Seller Managed Sale v. the MaxSold Managed as it's easy to create your catalog... you can do it at your leisure... and it's easy to manage the pickup. Plus, MaxSold staff is there (even on weekends) to help over the phone on pickup day. Best way I have found to sell off an estate, or sell down slow moving inventory. As with any auction, you must have realistic expectations of prices achieved. MaxSold twice now exceeded my overall expectation. Highly recommend this service!
The kind of treasure hunt I LOVE!
MaxSold auctions are my favorite place to look for unique items, collectibles, and great deals. It's easy to view sales, watch items, and bid -- I monitor local MaxSold sales several times a week. I've been a customer for years, purchasing furniture and items for my house and for my friends. I attached a photo of the beautiful set of 6 chairs I bought (and recovered) while visiting a friend in the Phoenix area last year. You never know what you will find but that's the great fun of it! The auctions are run professionally and every purchase/pick-up I've made has gone smoothly. I would recommend MaxSold to anyone with an estate that needs to be liquidated quickly, completely, and without hassle. I made sure my husband has the MaxSold contact information because he will certainly need it if I leave this earth before he does LOL!

Always a great deal and a good pickup experience
My gorgeous full leather Natuzzi living room set came from an Ottawa purchase - $820 for a couch, chair and ottoman that were valued at over $6,500 new... it was a steal! My vintage oak roll-top desk? I paid FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS from an auction in Rochester, NY - Mind! Blown! I've furnished my home with fantastic antiques at pennies on the dollar, and have bought vintage jewelry, storage solutions, stained glass supplies, and metalworking tools. The selection of available items at any given time is absolutely astonishing because of the variety of things that different people have and want to downsize. Someone, somewhere, is getting rid of exactly what you're looking for! My pickups have always been very well organized and seamless, staff are friendly and helpful and always look like they're enjoying their job and each other's company.
Couldn't have done it without them!
What started off as moving Mom and Dad to a retirement community, auctioning what they didn't need, and selling their house became a three month trial of hospital visits for both, hospice care for my dad, and his passing. But in the meantime, plans had been put in place to move. I'm giving you all these details so that you know the context when I say that Heidi and her team were so helpful, so supportive, and so easy to work with through a very difficult time. They gave us the flexibility we needed as to when to start the auction process, and we knew exactly what was happening with every step of the way. I was so impressed with the research they did in creating the listings. Everything was so professionally done, and the whole process was incredibly smooth. They totally earned their commission. I highly recommend them, and would work with them again anytime.
I have been selling items repeatedly, hoping for improvements, but unfortunately, that hasn't happened
I have been selling items repeatedly, hoping for improvements, but unfortunately, that hasn't happened. In my last auction, the items sold for a total of $***, and after deducting the 30% or $300, I was left with very little, which I find unfair. Maxsold earns more money than us sellers, in addition to the percentage they charge each buyer. I think that if the amount is close to $300, they should take the 30% instead of the full $300, so that we sellers are not left with nothing, especially considering that I provide all the pictures and descriptions.
I've been a buyer and a seller - it's great for those that appreciate what the process is (and is not) built to accomplish for both sellers and buyers.
This company is terrific. I have found treasures galore to keep our gift. The folks on site are the best!
An extremely poorly managed dictatorial operation designed solely to separate people from their hard earned money and make maxsold wealthy. Everyone needs to heed these warning and run away from these pirates. There so many more reputable local and on line auction services that it is incredible how they manage to stay in business. Lots of poorly educated suckers out there just like PT Barnum said! SELLERS BEWARE forewarned is forearmed, at the end of the day it is TOTALLY their way or the highway. Where are the negative star ratings?

My experience is as unfortunate as most of the others here. A couple of months back, my girlfriend, our friend and I were picking up several items from an auction when an employee named *** made a number of wildly and shockingly inappropriate and sexual comment to and about my fiancee. At one point, he asked *** who the man with us was. *** asked if he was ***'s brother and she first told him that it wasn't relevant, but added that he is our friend. Then *** said "then the older guy (meaning me) must be your dad'. I'm sorry, but the severe lack of judgment and sense that it takes to make such a rude remark is staggering. *** then told him that I am her fiancé and he started saying to me "she's telling everyone you're her fiancé". I had made a joke when picking up a heavy concrete bench that I took a five hour energy and I feel great. I'd heard *** say something, but I wasn't sure what it was (he had been trying to chat me up and so I was actively blocking him out). *** and our friend (and two other customers) heard him say to me "and your girlfriend is gonna give you something else later (implying sex). This is wildly inappropriate and was also witnessed by another employee (I didn't catch his name). To be honest, I heard *** making a lot of rude remarks to other customers and about other customers (and he even made a rude comment to me about another customer when we first got there) but I tend to be so gregarious that I can break the ice with almost anyone. But I find ***'s comments absolutely repulsive and since that time, I ran into him at another auction pickup and he again tried to chat me up by asking about what I was wearing (I dress professionally often, as I'm a business owner), where I was going that night, etc. Either he was jealous that I'm better looking and better dressed than him, or he was interested in me sexually. Either way, it was unwelcome. It makes my skin crawl to pick up items at Maxsold. It's borderline *** that seems to be completely allowed. I reported this to Maxsold way back in December, but nothing was ever done.
I believe Maxsold is a really DISHONEST company! I bid in an auction and won the bid. When I looked at the invoice, I noticed that they added a "Premium" fee of $19.65. I tried to contact them to find out exactly why I was charged this fee and I couldn't find a way to reach anyone. Then I tried to cancel my winning bid because I didn't want to pay the extra fee and I was unable to do that. When I went to pick up the item, I asked about the extra fee and no one seemed to know what it was for. Then I sent Maxsold several emails asking about the fee, but I never got a reply. I was able to speak to someone today, who first told me the $19.65 was sales tax on the item. Since they already charged me $9 for sales tax, I knew that was incorrect. They I was told that it was the auctioneer's fee. Really? I only won 1 other bid at another time and wasn't charged an extra "premium" fee. Maxsold already gets 30% of sales from the auction. Why am I expected to pay an auctioneers fee? I definitely recommend STAYING AWAY from this company, as all things point to them being shady and not transparent.

not happy with Maxsold. bought the bike that had mechanical problems. only found out about them when brought it home. was refused in refund with excuse that I had to show the issues at pick up location. was overcharged with premium fee. no way to choose the day convenient for me, only the day they tell you. so say goodbye to either your purchase or the plans for that day. I would not buy from Maxsold auction again.
In 2016 to 2017, After my family member passed away, two friends recommended that I contact MaxSold to sell my family estate items. I engaged in research by calling several auction companies in BC before I made a decision. I engaged in emailing and calling Maxsold to discuss the best months to hold an auction. I watched their videos online and read testimonials. In December 2017, I chose a self managed MaxSold auction to keep costs low. I worked on it for days. I completed a self managed auction with MaxSold. The auction garnered $500. MaxSold said they wanted 30%. I asked them: What did they do to earn it? Where did they advertise my auction? Why was there such a low turn out of buyers? Why didn't MaxSold customer support respond to my calls and emails and fail to support me the several days of auction? In January 2018, MaxSold and I agreed I would keep my $500 and we would not do business together in the future. In Summer of 2020, MaxSold and I agreed upon conducting one more auction at a flat rate of $300 plus I would pay them $150 for the first auction = $450 total. In mid August 2021, I held a second self managed auction with MaxSold. On September 7, 2021 MaxSold advised me I earned $3,691.88 from my auction BUT MaxSold took 30% = $1,107.58 NOT our agreed upon $450 total. September 7, 2021 onward to early October 2021, by email and phone, I advised MaxSold they made a mistake and to return the money to me. I sent them our original email agreement, and confirmation by their representatives that it was correct $450 total. *** the *** argued with me in emails and would not speak with me on the phone. I advised *** that the and maxSold leave me with few options such as legal recourse as one. I received several lengthy emotional emails from *** who failed to adhere to the simple matter of reimbursement of the 30% and to instead take the $450 from me, as per our original emailed agreement. I received a final email from *** who wrote I ought to pursue the legal action because they had no intention of returning my money. Here I am 1) warning consumers 2) advising *** 3) filing a complaint with *** to gain support in this matter of reimbursement.
MaxSold Review: Poor Photo Quality, Missed Items, and Hidden Costs - 3 Stars
I'm giving MaxSold a 3-star rating because, although we didn't lose any money, there were some major concerns that need to be addressed. Firstly, the quality of the photos taken by MaxSold staff was poor, and one was even upside down (see attached photo). This likely affected the price people were willing to pay for the items. It would be helpful if there were a required standard for photo quality or even a camera provided by MaxSold.
Secondly, some photos were missed of certain lot items. I asked the team lead to double-check because I thought it had been missed, but they assured me it hadn't. However, when I checked the photos after, it was clear that an item had been missed. This was frustrating and could have been avoided with better attention to detail.
Thirdly, MaxSold should better explain what is needed for creating "lots." I spent hours organizing everything, only to have them show up and say it's going to cost an additional $50 per person per hour (there were five of them) for a few hours to organize before they could get started. This was an estate sale for my 50-year-old mother who just passed away, and the last thing I wanted to hear was that it was going to cost hundreds of extra dollars, especially in this situation.
Fourthly, there is a missing item that seems to have gotten picked up with a lot, and I have emailed three separate email accounts about it, but I have not heard back. This is concerning, and I hope they can locate the missing item soon.
Lastly, there were lots of smoke breaks and dilly-dallying, especially for $50 an hour. It would be appreciated if they could stay focused and work efficiently during the allotted time.
Overall, MaxSold has potential, but there are definitely some areas that need improvement. I hope they take these concerns seriously and work to address them in the future.
MAXSOLD Auction Review: Disappointing Results and Unfair Fees
My experience with MAXSOLD was not a good one. A few weeks ago, we had MAXSOLD run the auction online. After watching what was happening, it was heart-wrenching. Watching bids come in at $1.00 on furniture and electronics was really disappointing. MAXSOLD was the only one who made out on the auction. They charged us a $700.00 fee for the Auction, plus they received 30% more of the total sale of our items, plus they got 15% from buyers. We were told that each bin should receive at least $35.00 or more. Well, I can tell you that did not happen. The purpose of us trying this auction was because we are moving and our furniture especially was not going and we really did not want to do a yard sale.
A Lazyboy rocker recliner sold for $1.00. Our solid wood dining room table with leaf and 8 chairs would have sold for $6.00 and a Walnut Chester Drawer with cedar chest would have sold for $1.00, only the person/s was a no show. It was sickening to see what was sold at prices that were really not fair to the customer. There should have been a minimum of at least $100 on all furniture items, not $1.00. Electronics that were never used, sold for a few dollars. Really a sin. $1300 sold, less their fee($700, less their 30%) received only $244. Was this FAIR, NOT AT ALL.
So because of this BIG MISTAKE, a yard sale was done and we made over $1200.00 in our pocket. If I had not done the Auction and had all my items, I probably would have made over $2500.00. MAXSOLD did not make my life easier but I certainly learned my lesson, CUSTOMER beware of MAXSOLD.

MaxSold's Unjust Suspension of Account After Fraudulent Activity
I've been a loyal customer of MaxSold for over 5 months now and have had many satisfying purchases. Last week, I decided to purchase three lots from different locations - Lilburn, Marietta, and Austell - even though I live in Buckhead. Unfortunately, the day before I made the purchases, my bank notified me of fraudulent activity on my account. I confirmed the fraudulent charge and my bank canceled my card and scheduled to send me a new one. I didn't think much of it and went to all three locations the next day to pick up my purchases. I paid for them on the spot, as there was no way the auctioneers would release the items without payment. Two payments were made in cash and one was made through Zelle.
Two days later, I checked my MaxSold account and noticed that the three lots were still marked as unpaid. I called a MaxSold representative and explained the issue. She assured me that she would relate my concern to her supervisor and that I would hear back from them within 48 hours. However, two days passed and I still hadn't received any promised reply from the company. When I tried to check my online MaxSold account, I realized that I had been suspended/blocked from any future transactions. Keep in mind that the entire bill was less than $100, and I received no call or explanation for this action. I'm sure that MaxSold received my payments from the local auctioneers who received the payments from me before releasing the items. It's very strange behavior by the company to punish the customer instead of the employee who violated their "rules" and not trying to resolve the issue. I'm still hoping that they will come to their senses and reach out to me.
MaxSold Review: Disappointing Experience with Auction #23194 and Account Suspension
I've been a customer of MaxSold for a few years now, and I've had some great experiences with them. However, my most recent experience was not so great. I participated in Auction #23194, which was held at 5 Sawgrass street, Jackson NJ 08527. I won several items and went to pick them up on July 19, 2020.
When I arrived, I met with a MaxSold representative named Audrey. I gave her my receipt, but she couldn't find the staff who were supposed to be there to help me. She asked the owner of the property where the staff were, and the owner said that a handyman working on the house had probably taken the items.
Audrey apologized to me and told me to fill out a refund form when I got home. She assured me that I would receive a 100% refund. I drove an hour back home and filled out the form as instructed.
The next day, I called my credit card company to let them know that I would be receiving a credit from MaxSold so that they wouldn't charge me any interest. The amount of my purchase was $19.62.
Three days later, I tried to log in to my MaxSold account to bid on another item, but I received a message saying that my account had been suspended. I filled out the reinstatement form twice, but both times it was denied. I called MaxSold several times, but I was told that no manager was available.
Eventually, I received an email from MaxSold support, saying that my account had been suspended due to a chargeback that I had initiated for a previous purchase. They said that they were unable to reinstate my account due to the nature of the suspension.
I was disappointed with this response, as I had always been a loyal customer of MaxSold. I understand that mistakes can happen, but I don't think it's fair to suspend my account for something that was out of my control. I hope that MaxSold will reconsider their decision and allow me to continue doing business with them in the future.
MaxSold Review: Disappointing Results and Hassle for Sellers
I had to get rid of a whole house full of antiques and quality items, and I decided to try out MaxSold to help me out. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the results. I feel like they just don't have the reach they need to get the best prices for your items. I mean, some things literally sold for a dollar! I don't think that would have happened if they had done any kind of outreach or marketing.
For example, I had a brand new hospital bed that I had spent $1,000 on just two months prior, and it sold for only $8. That's just crazy! And a vintage Singer sewing machine in perfect working condition sold for only $5. Even a Weber gas grill with two full propane bottles sold for only $4. It's just not worth it to sell things for that little.
To make matters worse, I had one item that sold for $400, but the buyer never paid, so I ended up getting nothing for it. What's the point of prequalifying someone if they can just back out and not pay? It's frustrating and a waste of time.
On top of all that, it took two whole months to complete the auction because the first time they came out to catalog, they missed a third of the items. We had to stop the auction, re-catalog everything, and start over. It was a huge hassle and a waste of time.
I understand that the point of MaxSold is to get rid of large items so you don't have to move them, but unfortunately, the larger items like bedroom sets, couches, and tables didn't sell. So I still had to move them anyway.
In the end, after all the fees, commissions, and buyers who didn't pay, I only made $140. That's just not worth the time and effort that went into it. I live in Los Angeles, so it's not like I'm in some rural area with no interest. I just don't think MaxSold is worth it for sellers. It might be great for buyers, but if you're trying to sell your stuff, don't bother. You'd be better off just having an open house and giving everything away. The MaxSold idea is good in theory, but the execution needs a lot of work.
MaxSold: Unprofessional, Fraudulent, and Terrible Customer Service - A Warning to Others
I recently participated in an online auction for an estate sale through MaxSold. It was a bidding war between several other bidders that lasted for several days. Finally, I won the item and paid MAXSOLD. I was excited to pick up my purchase before the end of the pick-up time, but to my dismay, I was told that they sold my item that I paid $189 for to someone who came with $100 cash. I was furious and told them that they made a contract with me the moment I paid online that the item belonged to me and they could not sell it to anyone else. They sold the item just 20 minutes before I arrived, and they made no attempt to help or figure out how to get the item back. They said they would refund the money, but my credit card still shows no refund over 10 days later. They will not talk to me on the phone, and they only communicate through email. Their customer service representative was rude and horribly ineffective. They did not care that I paid for the item and was told to drive to a location to pick up the item and when I showed up it was gone, and someone paid half what I did in the auction.
This was a clear case of fraud. They did not have any record of who they gave my item to, and they just took cash and did not collect sales tax. This was just illegal. They are supposed to be an auction company with rules and follow all state guidelines. The woman handling the auction could have cared less and kept no records. The office staff and follow-up would not talk to me on the telephone. They did everything possible to get me to go away and not correct the situation.
To make matters worse, they offered to give me a Starbucks card for my trouble. They really thought that buying me a cup of coffee would make up for a 50-mile drive and not refunding my money. The whole experience was a complete disaster, and I would never recommend MaxSold to anyone. They are unprofessional, rude, and do not care about their customers. I hope that others will read this review and avoid using their services.
MaxSold Auctions: Buyer Beware - Large Lots, Rude Staff, and No Plan for Unsold Items
What's up with MaxSold and their staff? The auction lots are way too big, like seriously, who wants to bid on 50-100 items in one lot? It's a total waste of time for potential bidders who only want a few items. Plus, it's not fair to the sellers who could make more money if the lots were smaller. I tried bidding on some larger lots because I wanted a few items, but then one of the staff members threatened me, saying I had to take everything or else. I didn't even know that was the policy! When I told her I would come back later, she accused me of something and threatened to tell MaxSold. I was so annoyed by her rudeness that I decided not to come back for the left items.
Another thing that bothers me is that MaxSold doesn't have a plan for unsold items. Why don't they contract someone to take them for free? There are plenty of people and companies out there that would be happy to take the scraps. I buy a lot from local auctions every year, and every other auction has solved this problem. They either have smaller lots or a cleanout crew. MaxSold needs to get with the program.
Honestly, I don't think I'll be spending any more money at MaxSold auctions. The ridiculous lot sizes and rude demands to take everything or be banned are not worth it. I was hoping to expand my buying to more local auctions, but this experience was a total letdown. I've been to hundreds of auction pick-ups, and this was by far the worst. Buyers and sellers beware! If I could rate this zero stars, I would.
MaxSold Online Auction: A Disappointing Experience for Downsizing and Selling Belongings
MaxSold online auction was a big disappointment for us. We were hoping to downsize and move closer to our family, and we thought MaxSold would be a great way to sell our belongings. We were excited to read about the company and hear from past customers, so we contacted MaxSold and signed a contract. They were supposed to send a team of workers to our home to take pictures of our antiques and collectibles, as well as other household items. We paid $700 for this service, and MaxSold was supposed to take 30% of our sales, plus charge buyer's premium costs. The sale was supposed to last 7-10 days.
However, we soon found out that there was no team available in our area to do the prep work. MaxSold told us that one of their partners would contact us, and the cost for the prep work was now $6,000. My husband and I did a lot of the preparation ourselves, working many days to exhaustion. We were disappointed that the sale was only online for 5 days, and there was no local advertising. We expected signs to be delivered for our front lawn, but they never came. We asked people in our community about MaxSold, but no one had heard of it.
The lack of local advertising hurt our sales, and we were frustrated that our valuable items sold for such low prices. Customers were happy to get a bargain, but we were left with many items that weren't listed online. We still have to take inventory to various auction houses, which will take endless hours of work.
Overall, we feel angry, disappointed, heartbroken, and depressed about our experience with MaxSold. We made a huge mistake trusting them to help us downsize and sell our belongings. We definitely cannot recommend MaxSold online auction to anyone.
Maxsold's Customer Service is Disappointing and Abusive: My Experience
I've been using Maxsold for years now and I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed with my recent experience. For those who don't know, Maxsold is an online auction site where you can bid on items that are photographed and described on their website. I recently bid on an item that was listed as "antique burred wood" and ended up winning it for $340. However, when I received the item, it was nothing like the description. It was clearly not wood, but some cheap substance with veneer applied to it. If I had seen this item at a garage sale, I wouldn't have paid more than $5 for it.
I immediately contacted Maxsold to request a refund, but instead of receiving a helpful response, I was met with an abusive and threatening email. They basically said that they would give me a full refund, but ban me from the site for violating their terms and conditions. This was shocking to me, considering I've been a loyal customer for years and have spent well over $10,000 on the site. I've even had a sale of my own on the site.
What's even more frustrating is that Maxsold violated their own manifesto, which states that they will carefully describe items and describe them "as we would want them described if we were buying or selling them". This was clearly not the case with the item I received.
To make matters worse, I found out that another customer who had purchased an item from my own sale was given a full refund after complaining about the quality. So the email I received from Maxsold, stating that they never refund an item once it has been removed from the premises, was a lie.
I'm extremely insulted by the way Maxsold has treated me, especially considering my track record with the company. As a repeat customer who has recommended the site to friends and family, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect. Instead, I was accused of trying to pull a fast one and steal something.
In my opinion, this is no way to treat a loyal customer. If Maxsold is willing to lose a customer who has spent over $10,000 on their site over a dispute of $300, then they need to rethink their customer service strategy. I'm incredibly disappointed and will no longer be recommending Maxsold to anyone.
Mixed Feelings About MaxSold: A Review of Their Auction Process
I gotta say, I have some mixed feelings about MaxSold. On one hand, their staff was really great - friendly, polite, and knowledgeable. But on the other hand, I was really disappointed with their auction process. It felt like they were working more for the bidders than for the sellers, which just doesn't seem right to me.
One thing that really bothered me was the starting bid of one dollar on all items. I mean, come on, it's 2020, not 1920! People are just going to wait until the last minute to try and steal items for that one dollar starting bid. It's not fair to the sellers, who are paying MaxSold's bills! I think sellers should have more say in the starting bid - if they want to start at $5 or $20, that should be their choice. And honestly, MaxSold would probably make more money that way too.
Another thing that really baffled me was the bidding in penny increments. The penny was phased out in 2013, so why are we still bidding in pennies? It just doesn't make sense to me. Bids should be in one dollar increments until the end of the first phase or however they work it.
And then there's the fact that there's no fail safe price for items. I had a bedroom suite that was my mother's, and it sold for under $20. If there had been a fail safe price, I could have taken it off the sale and kept it instead of it selling for next to nothing. I think sellers should have the option to take an item off the sale if it doesn't reach a certain price, or if it has sentimental value.
Overall, I just think MaxSold needs to revamp their auction process to make it more seller-friendly. They need to make sure sellers get fair value for their products, and they need to involve sellers more in the process. I wasn't too thrilled with the fact that they took almost 50% of the take, either. If they made some changes, I would be more likely to recommend them. But as it stands, I was pretty disappointed with the whole thing.

I bought a painting that was advertised on Maxsold through an auction
I bought a painting that was advertised on Maxsold through an auction. When I went to pick it up, I found out that it didn't exist. I specifically told the company representative that I didn't want a refund and insisted on receiving the painting I had purchased. However, I was informed that the owner had already taken the painting away, even though I had bought it. I called to find out the correct legal name and address of the business in British Columbia (BC). They only gave me the alleged legal name, which is *** (I'm not sure if it's one word or two), and suggested that I should involve the police to resolve the dispute. However, this is clearly a civil matter and not something that the police should be involved in. Despite my explicit rejection, the company used my credit card information to issue a refund that I did not authorize. I made it clear on the phone that I did not want this transaction to take place. When I expressed my concerns to the receptionist about involving the police, she said that's what the company's executives tell customers to do. I asked for information about the seller who took the painting so that I could take further action, but they didn't provide me with that information. I'm not sure if Maxsold is registered to do business in BC.
Hi there, this week I placed a few bids for furniture, that I would need to pick up in a different region from where I live. In the last several days, I am still the winning bid. I presume I will win the 2 lots. Last night, I found out via contract tracing I was exposed to Covid-19. I e-mailed this organization last night upon finding out this news based on this faq article: *** I of course wasn't expecting an immediate response, but this morning, to save time, I called. I explained that I have been exposed to Covid-19 and notified via contact tracing and it's a matter of time before I may not have the energy to deal with this situation. She told me there's nothing they can do and that if I win the bid, I would have to file for a refund. This is contrary to their indications stated here - "We are removing bids from bidders that contact us due to being in isolation for the 14 days or with health concerns" I am not putting others at risk by proceeding with this process.

Mixed Feelings About MaxSold: A Review of My Household Sale Experience
Hey there! So, I just wrapped up my household sale with MaxSold and I gotta say, I'm feeling a bit mixed about the whole thing. On one hand, I'm glad I was able to get rid of a lot of stuff that was just taking up space in my home. But on the other hand, I don't think I would do it again.
One of my main gripes with the process was the starting price of $1.00. I mean, I knew going into it that this was the case, but I was hoping that more people would bid and drive up the price. Unfortunately, that didn't really happen and I ended up getting small amounts for most of my items. I really think some of my stuff could have gone for a lot more.
Another issue I had was with the groupings. They put a lot of good stuff together and sold it for really cheap. I understand that they're trying to move as much inventory as possible, but it was frustrating to see some of my nicer items go for such a low price.
That being said, I did appreciate the learning experience. Now I know what to expect if I ever decide to do something like this again. And I have to say, the people who came to my place were really nice! They were polite and friendly, which made the whole process a lot easier.
Overall, I'm happy to have gotten rid of some clutter, but I'm not thrilled with how little some of my items sold for. If you're considering using MaxSold, just be aware of the starting price and how they group items together. It might not be the best option for everyone.
MaxSold's Response to Listing Inaccuracies Disappoints
So, I was browsing through MaxSold's website and I found an item that I was interested in. However, I noticed that there was a separate picture of a matching piece that was not mentioned in the description. I decided to give them a call and the person who answered the phone was very helpful. After viewing my issue, they told me that if I would send an email to ***@maxsold.com describing the issue, MaxSold would contact the seller and get a clarification on the matter.
I followed their instructions and sent an email to the provided address. However, I received a response that left me feeling disappointed. The email stated that "Unfortunately, we only have one-time access to the premises and do not have more information other than what is present in the catalog and pictures. Please note that the description takes precedence over photographs."
Now, I have a couple of issues with this response. Firstly, I believe that photographs should either match the item or take precedence over the description. Secondly, I don't understand why MaxSold would not have the ability to make a call to straighten out the conflict. In my opinion, this is not good business practice.
Overall, I was left feeling unsatisfied with my experience with MaxSold. While the person who answered the phone was helpful, the response I received via email was not what I was hoping for. I think that MaxSold should do more to ensure that their listings are accurate and that they are able to resolve conflicts between buyers and sellers.

Disappointing Experience with MaxSold: Poor Grouping, Low-Quality Photos, and Unprofessionalism
MaxSold was a real disappointment for me. I was really unhappy with the way they grouped items together. They put many expensive items together in large groups, which made no sense at all. For example, they grouped 38 candle sticks as one lot, and crystal items were grouped with wooden ones, as well as with large floor candle holders. Even expensive vases and urns were grouped together in large groups until I stepped in and made them break them up. The groups were entirely too large and made no sense how they grouped them.
Another issue I had with MaxSold was the poor quality of the photos. Some of them were dark, and some were blurred. It was really hard to see what was being sold in some of the photos. I had three six-foot racks of Christmas items, and they put each rack as one lot. They did nothing to group things together that made sense. I did all the work, and all they did was take pictures.
To make matters worse, they were supposed to be there until 6:00, but by 3:00, they said they were finished. I was really disappointed with the quality and professionalism of MaxSold. We made very little on the sale, and I would NOT recommend anyone using MaxSold.
MaxSold Managed Auction Review: Unhelpful Staff, Big Lot Sizes, Messy Pickup, and High Commission Fees
MaxSold is a website where you can sell your stuff, but let me tell you, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I had a MaxSold Managed Auction and it was a DISASTER. The staff was not helpful at all, and the lot sizes were way too big. I mean, who wants to bid on a lot with a bunch of stuff they don't even want? It's like they were trying to trick us into buying more than we wanted.
And don't even get me started on the pickup scenario. It was a complete mess. Items were left behind, and when I asked for a refund for miscataloged items, MaxSold just gave the money back and let the bidder keep the item for free without my permission. What kind of business is that?
And the commission fees are outrageous. I sold $5000 worth of stuff and MaxSold took $2450 of that. I mean, come on. That's way above the going rate for other auctioneers or online auction facilitators. I could have made more money with a yard sale or by selling on Facebook Marketplace.
Overall, I would not recommend MaxSold. The staff is unhelpful, the lot sizes are too big, the pickup is a mess, and the commission fees are way too high. Save yourself the trouble and sell your stuff somewhere else.
Mixed Experiences with MaxSold: Bidding Wars and Safety Hazards
I gotta say, I've had some mixed experiences with MaxSold. On one hand, they definitely know how to get people bidding and drive up prices. I've seen them split up sets of items just to create bidding wars, which can be a bit sleazy if you ask me. But on the other hand, I've also seen some safety hazards at their auction sites that they really should address.
Just the other day, I saw a guy stumble and drop a bunch of dishes he had just bought because he caught his arm on a broken door handle on his way out. It was pretty obvious that the handle was a hazard, and they really should have taped it over or something. I mean, the guy could have gotten hurt! I was kind of surprised that the staff didn't offer him some kind of refund or compensation for their part in the accident.
All that being said, I have gotten some good deals through MaxSold. You just have to be careful and pay attention to the details. And if you do decide to bid on something, make sure you're prepared to pick it up yourself - they don't offer delivery or shipping. Overall, I'd say MaxSold is worth checking out if you're looking for some unique finds, but just be aware of the risks and take precautions.
MaxSold's After-Sales Service Lacks: A Cautionary Tale for Sellers
So, I went to pick up my lots from MaxSold and one of their employees, Claire, who had an Irish accent, approached me. She offered to help me sell my deceased brother's 43 watches and other related items on private consignment. Claire mentioned that MaxSold wouldn't sell them due to their small size. She sent me an email with a list of all the items and her fees for replacing watch batteries, preparing the items for selling on EBay, Mercado, and other platforms, and mailing/shipping costs. The email also included a list of when EBay would reimburse her account. I was excited to get some help with selling these items, but unfortunately, Claire disappeared after that. I sent her two emails and left two voicemails, but she never responded. I was disappointed and frustrated.
When I contacted MaxSold about this, they told me that Claire wasn't supposed to do that and that they would talk to her. However, I haven't heard anything from them since then. I am now filing a claim in small claims court, which is the last thing I needed during this difficult time of grief. I agree with Mel F that this is not a good deal for sellers.
Overall, my experience with MaxSold was not great. While the auction itself went smoothly, the after-sales service was lacking. I would caution anyone who is considering using MaxSold to be careful and to make sure they understand all the terms and conditions before agreeing to anything.
MaxSold Review: Great Deals, But Beware of Pick-Up Rules and Greedy Sellers
We was lookin' for a new dinin' table and chairs and we found a nice wood one on MaxSold. We put in a bid of $140 and we won! We was so excited to go pick it up. But, we was runnin' a little late and when we got there, the seller said we couldn't have it 'cause we missed the pick up window. We was so upset! We called MaxSold and they said that's the rules, but if the seller agreed, we could still get it. So we went back to the seller and he said no way, it was worth $10,000 and he wasn't lettin' it go for $140. We was like, come on man, that's crazy!
Anyway, we ain't mad at MaxSold 'cause they did post the rules and they was willin' to help us out. It was the seller who was bein' greedy and mean. So, if you gonna use MaxSold, make sure you read all the rules and be on time to pick up your stuff.
MaxSold: A Mixed Bag of Estate Sale Shopping - My Experience
I gotta say, I've had some pretty rough experiences with MaxSold. I feel for all the folks out there who are feeling the same way and have no choice but to vent their frustrations online. MaxSold doesn't seem to care much about customer complaints, and they just keep pointing to their terms of liability. It's a real bummer when you get your hands on something that's broken or damaged, or when the description of an item is totally off. And don't even get me started on the sale managers - some of them can be downright rude! Plus, the fees are pretty steep, and the pickup scheduling is super rigid and inflexible. It's just not the kind of experience I'm used to when I'm shopping at estate sales.
But hey, I gotta give credit where credit is due. I recently had an issue with MaxSold and I asked for a refund. To my surprise, they actually gave it to me! It seems like they're willing to help out buyers when the sale managers won't. I mean, they're not involved in the listing or the photos or anything like that, so you're really at the mercy of the sale manager. But it was a huge relief to know that MaxSold is willing to step in and make things right.
So, I'm bumping up my rating from one star to three stars. If you're gonna use MaxSold as a buyer, just be careful and do your research. And make sure you read every last word of the fine print! Good luck out there, folks.
Poor Customer Service and Billing Issues: Our Experience with MaxSold
MaxSold is a website that allows people to sell their belongings through online auctions. While there were some things that impressed us about MaxSold, we had a frustrating experience trying to get in touch with someone at the company to address our questions and concerns. We attempted to contact them multiple times, but it seemed like once they had our business, they didn't care about us anymore. We left messages on the phone and sent emails, but it was all a waste of time.
The biggest issue we had was with the billing. We were charged for an item that was stolen during the pickup, even though there were supposedly four people at the house watching people pick up their purchases. The auction was managed by a partner, but when we brought up the issue, the manager told us that the rightful purchaser would be refunded, but we would still be charged. We were not happy about this and tried to get in touch with someone at MaxSold to address the issue.
After many attempts, we finally got through to someone named Riley on the phone. He assured us that MaxSold would not charge us for the stolen item. However, a week later, we received the bill and were shocked to see that we had indeed been charged. We tried to call and email MaxSold to explain the situation, but no one answered the phone.
Overall, we were truly disgusted with our experience with MaxSold and would not recommend them to anyone. It's a shame because there were some things that impressed us about the website, but the lack of customer service and the billing issue left a bad taste in our mouths.
MaxSold Review: Poor Pictures & Customer Service, Items Not as Described
The pictures on MaxSold are not the best. They don't show what's really in the lot or any damage. I usually give some items to a thrift store if the lot has too much of what I don't want but this last time I actually had to throw a lot of it in the trash. The pictures showed stuff in a big box which was all damaged and went in the trash. One box of dishes says 24 pieces but not all of it was there. During a heat wave the house had no A/C and was the pick up was behind. They sort through a pile of paper listing to find my items then I have to wait for a person to take me to the items and stand over me. Some of the items were on the floor but I was offered no assistance. Since I am a senior I don't get up and down well. Then I had to carry a lot of "junk" to my car. The basement stuff said "outside access" but I had to either climb numerous outside steps to get it to my car OR find another way which I did on investigating on my own. You can get some good stuff but be careful and try to look at what pictures they have carefully. Ask questions on line but don't expect a quick answer. I told MaxSold about some of my concerns on their survey and the response was "I'm sorry you had a bad day". Overall, I think MaxSold is okay but they need to improve their pictures and customer service.
MaxSold - Sellers Beware!
Sellers beware!
For the seller, maxsold is a complete rip-off. Their fees ensure that you get almost nothing for the items being sold while they walk away with most the proceeds from the sale!
As an example:
If you had 40-50 items for sell and they somehow raised $2000 in bids ($40 to $50 on each item/lot - which incidently definitely doesn't happen - most winning bids are well below that value); then Maxsold would charge the $800 set-up fee plus 30% or $300 (which ever is greater) on the total value of the sale - an additional $600 to Maxsold. Therefore, of the total $2000 in bids, the seller only receives $600 and maxsold walks away with $1400.
Additionally, maxsold charges the buyer 15% surcharge on the value of the bids which for $2000 would be $300.
The end result of the sale is that Maxsold walks away with $1700 for the sale and the seller only gets $600!
Took items off the auction
I, and several other people were bidding on 2 auctions. They were Fireking bowls Worth a few bucks. I went on site this morning to see how they were going, and they were gone! I chatted awhile with a person, and I got all kinds of excuses. I know exactly what happened. The sellers probably decided to put them on Ebay. To get more money from the sale. Oh, well, I was excited for a little while. I will never bid on their site again! Only to be disappointed? Nope.
Shamefully ill-equipped employees
The employees who were hired to photograph, describe and list the items for auction were in no way equipped to fulfill this role. The descriptions were extremely poor. Many precious antiques and other items were not described appropriately or even adequately. The auction was held for my parents, who are aged. I am disgusted that they were taken advantage of in this way. They failed in every way to assist in properly assist my parents with the auction. You should be ashamed to have people so ill equipped to represent your company. I would never, ever recommend this service to anyone.
Desired outcome: The representatives who were sent for this job should be transferred to another position or dismissed from their duties. I am disgusted my parents paid them. You should be utterly ashamed.
I was notified there was a comment by your company. Where is that exactly? I see nothing here other than other negative reviews about your disgraceful organization.
Sellers Beware! Took over half of my sales
I sold my things on Maxsold and they took over 60 percent of my sales. I thought that they were going to take 30 percent but they applied the $300 minimum commission. Beware because it's risky when selling your things through them. You could lose big time. Now I'm at a loss. My advice is to have a yard sale or sell some place else like eBay if you don't want to lose money on your stuff. And then you have to wait a long time before they decide to send you the money. The bidders have your things already and you're still waiting for your little bit of change to be sent.
You knew the basic cost beforehand, and it sounds like the proceeds of your auction didn't make much more than that. I would not call that "taking over 60% of your sales".
I just sold with Max sold and yes they made more than I did on my items I had thousands of books which they lotted too many together in my opinion they only make sure you get enough to get their cut.
Buyer took item and then was refunded, but I did not get back my item
A buyer won a tablecloth and napkin set (lot#31) at my seller-managed auction (#25698), but when she arrived to pick up item, she said that there had been something wrong with Maxsold's bidding software because bid went way higher than her max (winning bid over $2000). But she took the tablecloth and napkins. Weeks later, I received my settlement of accounts from Maxsold and saw item was fully refunded. However, I never got back tablecloth and napkins. I have sent in my complaint (3 times now) and heard only once from Maxsold that they were trying to contact buyer. Maxsold never informed me between auction close and pick up that there was an issue with item or that buyer was not to pick up item. Tablecloth and 12-napkins are vintage Italian linen, with needlework, at least 50 years old and never used.
Desired outcome: I would like tablecloth and 12 napkins returned in original condition or properly paid for this item.

"Never again"

I run out of fingers counting the reasons to avoid this company:
- They never told me about the $2000 setup fee that showed up at the end
- Their people who did the initial catalogue did not include each piece but rather grouped things
- When the buyers picked things up, the MaxSold people gave the wrong thing to the wrong people, cost me a lot of lost money
- Maxsold never told me about the 1% they charge the buyers on top of the 3% they charged me
- The buyers made a mess of my house, the MaxSold people just let them go at it
- When I asked MaxSold to have the buyer who did the most damage to my house, they just ignored me despite the buyer contract saying the buyers were responsible
unethical behavior
I bought 4 auction lots. One lot from one auction in Kent, WA and the other 3 were from another in nearby Issaquah by same sellers. The one lot was not even close to being the item in the picture. They tried to make us take it anyway and I just left. At the second sale I had two lots that were listed as 'New' Items. I bought 5 'NEW' cake plates and they were all dirty and the cake spatulas were not in the boxes as described. I also bought 2 pair of 'NEW' boots. Neither pair were new and one pair was quite worn and not even the brand indicated. The 3rd lot, a vintage fur stole was as described.
We were told by one of the male agents there, 'Sorry' and he offered us a smaller version of the item we were not even interested in. I learned my lesson. STAY AWAY from these rip-off artists.
The head office refunded me what I requested for the mis-categorized items sold by their franchise in my area. I am completely satisfied with their quick response. A+ on their customer service.
Lack of customer service
I've seen many bad reviews about your company and how you kindly replied to them.
Can I ask for something? Please, ask this guy/lady to pay attention to phone calls or to emails, because you have tons of them. From me. How can I talk to anyone? I've got an issue and I want you to resolve it, but how can I do this without your help? You have a special person who replies bad reviews, but there's no one who would know how to use the phone or email. Sad story.
This item used to belong to me, until someone I know came in my home and stole along with the heavy chain it was on. I didn't file a police report as I thought I could talk him into telling me where he brought it (being nice gets you no where, trust me). This was about 12+ years ago. I have been looking for it ever since. I mean pawn shops, Maxsold, EBTH, estate sales, etsy, ebay, any where and every where. It was one of the last items Richie gave me. I finally found it on MAXSOLD on Ruggles Street in Westbourough, MA but it was too late to bid on the item. I contacted them immediately. The say they tried to contact the seller twice. Saturday(9/5/20) was pick up day. I was told MAXSOLD would attempt to call the buyer and explain the situation and how I would buy it from them. Today I got an email saying "because you didn't chose to bid" the item is gone and that's that. Compassion went out the window. I would've bid on the item. As it is the entire lot went for $12.99 I asked for the State it went to (as I was told it went out of state) and they refused to tell me that. So, if you could share this to as many states as you can, I would really appreciate it. This is the one piece I'm asking to buy from lot 62 from Westbourough MA MAXSOLD aution that ended Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
Fast forward to today...still no call, no heart, compassion or soul. I can only pray someone who has seen my postings on social media will come through, because, it's obvious MAXSOLD has no intention on helping.
the worst company
All they want from you is your money. What you do next is not what's interesting to them. They do not give a crap about you.
If it comes to the customer service, everything you may get from them (actually for the money you gave) is a rude and obnoxious attitude, bad treatment and zero support. Please, buyers, beware and stay away from this terrible place.
