Rental Scam
Never ever rent a home at this company. It is a scam! We, ve rented a home with giant cockroaches all over the place. It also had an old airco so the temperature in the house was during the day up to 90 degrees. After we left they kept de the security deposit ($ 2000, --!) for two months and charged us $ 1400, - extra for electric use! I've rented homes for the last 12 years in the US (mostly in Florida) but never had a bad experience like this. It is a very bad organisation so stay away if you don't want your vacation to be completely ruined! Read also the reviews on Yelp and learn more about this scam. We are definitely not the only ones with a very bad experience!
McLean Company Rentals (www.ps4rent.com) are true criminals. Stay away from this company and use another rental company. These are the biggest crooks in the Palms Springs Area! NEVER EVER USE MCLEAN COMPANY RENTALS! BEWARE!

Damaged condo
As an owner of a condo in Palm Springs, I contracted with McClean in May of 2013. They had the first renters in there in Feb 2014 for two months. This turned out to be a complete disaster for me and my condo. They also turned out to be the nastiest people I have ever dealt with.
First thing, my neighbors informed me that the renters were having parties on a regular basis with very loud banging noises coming from inside the place.
Once the renters left, I had a friend and future full time renter go visit my place the day after the renters left and the cleaning crew was there. Here's what happened after that:
1. The place was a disaster. Trash everywhere. Very large, deep stains on the rugs, carpets, and all furniture.
2. The cleaning crew showed up with a broken down vacuum cleaner that had no attachments and didn't work worth a crap. The place was left in a complete mess. Extensive videos and photos were taken after the cleaning crew left. It was disgusting how my place was left.
3. I complained to McLean but, they said any damage or lack of repair was considered "normal wear and tear." And this was without McLean ever even inspecting the place. Even with all the complaining and photos I sent to them, they did not even bother to go out and inspect.
4. I was forced to hire a professional cleaning crew to clean my place and steam clean the entire place. One rug had to be thrown away because a large stain could not be removed.
5. Mclean collected a pet feee from the renters because of the dog they brought and informed me that when pets are allowed, McLean would sanitize the place afterwards. Let me assure you, no sanitization of any kind occurred.
6. I asked McLean to simply pay the cleaning fee I incurred because of the guests they put into my place and they refused.
I am going to be forced to take them to small claims court over this issue. With all the photos, videos, and witness accounts of this situation, I cannot lose. This will cost McLean mush more than the cleaning fee now as they will be required to pay all other costs associated with the case including travel costs, etc.
If you have a condo in the Palm Springs, CA area, I would suggest looking elsewhere for a property management company.

Dishonest, unprofessional and straight up mean.
This company is the worst I've ever encountered in any type of business, period. They are not only aggressively dishonest and shockingly incompetent, they're nasty people. I wish I was being superfluous, but I'm not even coming close. I am writing reviews everywhere I can find in hopes of sparing other people the soul-crushing experience I had with McLean Company Rentals.
Lest you think it's just me, McLean Company Rentals has an F-rating with the BBB and if you read their reviews across the web you'll see repeated themes like "the owner is an outright liar" and "the way they treated us was so horrible it was surreal." It's one thing to make mistakes as a business, those are usually fixable- the reason people have written so many passionately negative reviews of McLean Company Rentals is the comical lack of awareness they have of their own absurd attitude. VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET- STAY AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY!
My fiance and I wasted six weeks trying to reserve a wedding venue from MCR (while letting go of our holds on our other venues, b/c we had been sent a reservation confirmation and contract from McLean.) I am not saying we deserved special treatment b/c we were planning a wedding, but six weeks in the context of wedding planning is a ridiculously long time to wait on paperwork from a venue, and needless to say it put us in a difficult situation that easily could have been avoided if MCR wasn't such a total clown show.
Long story short, McLean Rentals:
-couldn't get it together to send us basic information about the property or coherent paperwork in SIX WEEKS. As in, they spelled the name of their own company wrong. The contracts they expected us to sign also contained other important typos that we had to point out to them, things that would have put us on the hook for massive security deposits if we hadn't asked for clarity, and when we did, they acted like it was our fault for taking their paperwork literally. Surreal.
-told us property rules six weeks into the reservation that were the exact opposite of what they had told us on day one.
-did not bother to call us back and basically acted like they didn't really care about our business, even though we were going to spend significantly more than most wedding venues cost in their area, not to mention rent out an enormous and expensive luxury rental for three nights.
-aggressively, nastily blamed us for everything they did wrong, including trusting that the information we received from their own employee on their tour was correct. INSANE. When it was clear she had no idea what she was talking about, I asked the woman on the phone if I could speak with her boss and she told me that was "rude." What is this, junior high?
-backed themselves into such a corner that they eventually outright cancelled our reservation rather than admit that they had given us any piece of incorrect information, let alone deliberately mislead us. Their explanation was they "didn't want to be bothered with so many questions" which they put in writing as our plans being "not conducive to the welfare of the property, " when our questions were always in service of the welfare of the property, not to mention incredibly basic (ie; for the love of god, could you please just tell us what part of the property our guests are allowed to be on, because you've told us massively different things and that is probably the most important piece of info about a venue, seriously, you have to be kidding.) And truly, if they were still figuring these things out for themselves, that's ok! Just be honest and tell us you don't know yet! But to give us one adamant answer one day, change it three weeks later, and obnoxiously blame us for changing OUR plans when any five year old could see that we were the only ones who were consistent is just appalling.
MCR lost a huge chunk of business for a nice man who trusted them with his property because they behaved horrifically but couldn't admit they made the tiniest of mistakes. They are a disgrace to the property.

Checking your options is key. If you are a guest or an owner you want to have an agreeable experience!
Read Yelp reviews, there are some horror stories mixed in with the high ratings. Then do your own "due diligence" before deciding to do business with this group. There are plenty of entities in the Desert who want your business, so check them out as well.

Not impressed
We rented a condo for one week in Palm Springs in Jan 2011. It took several phone calls to get the reservation completed. When we arrived the unit was dirty, aged and cluttered with personal property. The pillows on the couch were so dirty we removed them. The bed was old and worn out, the kitchen was advertised as granite counter tops and it was Acrylic. The pots and pans were horrible..The unit looked like it was furnished with garage sale or sally ann items. On the third day I put a piece of bread in the toaster and it instantly caught on fire and had flames almost touching the cabinets. We called and they said that they had a note to replace it but forgot..Also said they could not get a new toaster to us anytime soon. The nightstands were loaded with crap, under the bed was loaded with old stuff. We were not impressed and our calls to the company were not taken seriously or considered. We paid a cleaning fee for what? The oven was filthy to...Do not deal with this company unless you inspect the unit prior to booking..We will never use them again...And we rent condos all the time and this one by far was substandard...I took pictures of all the deficiencies in the unit. To top thngs off it took almost a month to get our security deposit back...6 phone calls to them and each time they told me it would be processed... Beware and be careful
