Melaleuca is a scam. First they tell you can make tons of money referring friends, but what they don't tell you is you have to buy from them at least $60 dollars worth of products a month not including shipping and these purchase must be made every month or they send you a box of supplies you do not want or need and charge you anyways. Before you can even shop at their site you must pay a membership fee. Which is total ridiculous? I was a member for four months and never earned a dime. How could I since I have to get 3-8 people to shop with them for at least 3 months before I could receive a commission. Unless you have tons of friends with tons of cash. I wouldn't even give this site a chance. They don't even tell you how to leave. You have to go through many Channels that are really long and full of hassle to get yourself uninvolved. In my opinion it a big SCAM!

I am so sorry to hear that apparently you had an enroller who didn't properly explain things clearly to you. I have been a customer with Melaleuca for over 5 years now and absolutely love the products and the company. I do receive a check every single month, and have since my first month.

I have enrolled customers who have never done any thing other than be a customer and they have received a check every single month. This is however, not typical unless your enroller is activily building a Melaleuca business, and then it is!

This company is not about just the business, but all about the people and products, creating a safer environment for all of us to live in. These products are just better...it is simply switching stores from Walmart to Melaleuca.

I have enrolled customers who have canceled their membership, and this process has never been a difficult thing to do. Melaleuca offers a 100% money back, satisfaction guarantee and has always bent over backward to make sure that I or my customers are happy.

It is apparent that this business and company were not for you, as it is not for everyone, however, to bash something that you only tried for a short time with no honest effort, and didn't work for you and while you apparently didn't have the correct information or training is isn't fair either. Maybe the person that you should be writing about is your enroller.

Seriously, if you are looking for a business to get into, do your homework first and then put forth effort need to make it successful, it is all about what you put into it.

All of these complaints are unfounded.

1) It is made abyou abundantly clear when join Melaleuca you are agreeing to purchase a minimum monthly amount of products in exchange for receiving the preferred customer prices.

2) Yes you pay a membership fee to shop there, just like costco or Sam's Club, really it is not all that unusual.

3) You do not have to be in for three months or enroll 3 - 8 customers to get a cheque. As soon as one person is enrolled under you you will receive a cheque.

The Melaleuca products are great and this complaint is weak, if you read the customer agreement before you signed it you would not have had these complaints.

I want to try Melaleuca Luminex for Bipolar. Are there any people out there that are more manic than depressed that have tried Luminex and it works for them?

How it works: Your customer form to open your account explains that you can be a wholesale, or retail customer. You chose the lesser pricing, and agreed to buy monthly, which agrees to $60 or so, but most people use quite a bit more. I use about $250, but I converted my home to those products. It also says on the form that you can close the account at any time, and for any reason. I wanted to make sure of that before I opened an account. If you dont actually place an order, you have agreed to a "back-up order, ", so if you don't want to shop there, you just close your account, or become a retail customer, who can shop whenever. You do have to do it in writing, though, and one person cannot close another person's account. I found that out when my brother passed away. They were fine to close it when we got the proper information to them .

I am also a Melaleuca member and business owner and this is false. From what I just read it was the person that enrolled you that was not truthful. The comments above are more truthful.

I am not bipolar, at least I don't think, but I do suffer from depression and have found Luminex is helpful for me. It's much better than the prescriptions I have been on that make me sort of zombie like, where I don't care about anything.

If anyone would like more information about Melaleuca, I can be reached at acd@sc.rr.com.

You need to pay attention to the presentation. It is there big and bold that you will need to commit as a customer. So what is $60 a month for things you need? THey are not forcing you to buy things you don't need. If you planned on making money you would not complain... you can also cancel so stop spreading rumors about the company and move on.

I think this complaint is all a bunch of crap. For those of you who have actually taken the time to read this far into this website please notice that most of these are just copied and reprinted several times under several different email addresses. They may be slightly changed but this is just someone who is vicious and has nothing better to do than to try to influence a stranger with their twisted stories.

I love reading the complaints on Melaleuca. They almost always come from someone with NO ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE of the facts. The biggest complaint is about the 35 point commitment... If used correctly this commitment will save hundreds of dollars a year on products you use everyday... if you would like more info on how to use the 35 points to save money contact me at

I love Melaleuca, always have, always will. Life changing products, life changing business opportunity. Using safer, concentrated products just makes sense. I just don't understand these complaints at all. They make me laugh but make me sad at the same time.

I too feel badly that the person that complained about the company had some bitter issues. It sounds like the person didn't really try to make it work if they wanted to be a marketing executive. By reading the rebuttal comments, I agree that Melaleuca is a great company with great products and a great compensation plan. I receive a check every month, on time, and it keeps growing as I keep enrolling customers who see the value in the products. The person that complained obviously thought the money would come rolling in without putting forth any effort of sharing the products with others. The presentation specifically says everything and teaches why and how the company works for customers and business builders. There are no secrets and there's no misleading information. I too agree that the enroller is the one that needs to be complained to/at. The company has the Torch Award from the BBB by taking care of its customers with integrity.

I am neutral on these complaints as I only have a couple of months buying products from here but I like to read the good and bad reviews about this company it helps me understand a little more about how this product works and as I see most of these complaints are about making money with the company and that's not why I signed up. I signed up for my wife's health she has h pylori and doctors can't seem to find something to get rid of it so I have decided to research and try something different. So here I am trying anything to help me out with my the cure for my partner in life and would appreciate any help or any feedback that would help me with this. So as I have came across this in my search I see it only fair for me to respond to this post that I do see some good products here that have helped me and my wife in other things like stress and blood circulation but not the main reason wish is h pylori but if it makes us feel better I'm all for it thanks Melaluca.

My sister sells this "meluca" crap. The products don't work as well as common products one can buy anywhere, they are insanely expensive because they are somehow special because they "care" so much, and my sister bothers the hell out of everybody she knows to buy her pyramid-scheme products so she can make a tiny bit of money off of it. They are a SCAM. They are just as much of a pyramid scheme as Amway. Their "35 point requirement" is just one of hundreds of ways they squeeze money off of you and keep it for themselves. And if you don't alienate all your friends by constantly trying to sell them sub-standard crap, then this company sends you a box of crap you didn't want and charges you for it! It is a SCAM to remove you from your money, plain and simple.
