Dating website
The moderators favour some users over others. People have been allowed to be racist, sexist, ageist on their forums. They forgetting everyone is different. The site attracts a lot of scampers. Since I joined their website, I've had non-stop phone calls from companies not even in my own country. Yeah the discussion forum is good, but this is more to do with what goes on behind the scenes.
Trying to get my phone number
I made my registation on the site, including sending my photo and wait for the mail for activate my account and when i get in i was expecting a normal page saying welcome and to fill my profile, instead of that I get this
" Mobile Verification
You were marked as sca*mer by our system. Please verify your mobile phone number to continue to use Mingle2" ... and space for writing to admin for review that.
I am MCSE and i know what that means my phone number sell to a company for billing me for services that i never had. I try to go "contact us" but that link and all the others get the same page. Note that they let me put a photo and the page that i got have alredy my photo, name and mail adress there. So probaly they are going to use my photo to increase the numbers of profiles
All profiles were fakes
Don’t waste time on the website www.mingle2.com. I joined it recently, but it was total scam. I filled the form there and wanted to find good guy, but all profiles turned to be fakes. I started to chat with one guy, who replied only once, but after that he simply vanished somewhere. After that the same crap repeated again and again. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Let’s share views about this website.
Every pretty young girl is a fake. How do I know. They post one or more photos and otherwise, their profile is empty. Half don't even answer the questions. I looked at about 3 dozen profiles of young pretty girls and not a single one had a profile that included a written discription. However, the homely girls did. Of course girls that look like movie stars and models wouldn't be on mingle2.
Possible scam
Joined free website Mingle2.com, which has a filter to automatically block men or women you are not compatible with, which does not seem to be working! My filter says that I seeking men, 35-65, within 150 miles, no married men or smokers, and a friend. I have had two men, one from Africa and one from Delphi both under age 30 write me and tell me I was put on their friend list, but I never received a friend request from either of them or I would have denied it, since I live in the USA. I blocked both men and contacted Mingle2.com, but when I clicked on send, I got an Error Message from Cloud Flare that the website was off line, which I reported to Verizon my carrier. This makes me question the ethics of this website, so I say beware!
Failure to delete subscriber information
I was a subscriber / member of Mingle2.com online dating / matching service for a brief period. I decided that I would like to cancel my subscription / membership, and I requested that the company DELETE my account data and all photos associated with my account. I received repeated replies from the site administrator - Charles - refusing my request.
Here is the text of the last response I received from the site:
For the last time, we do not delete accounts. I have not deleted a single Mingle2 account in my two-plus
years at the company.
I gave you instructions on how to close out your account. Other than that, I can't help you with your request.
Regards,
Charles
I informed Charles that Mingle2.com was unique, since several other similar sites that I have used are willing to delete all information, as requested. No other dating site that I dealt with refused my reasonable request that my information be deleted.
I believe that the Mingle2.com dating site is not serving my interests as a consumer. They have their own interests at heart instead.
I strongly warn any other person considering the use of the Mingle2.com dating site to take your business to any one of the other dozens of sites that are available, and avoid logging on the the Mingle2.com site altogether. I believe you will regret that the site is not user-friendly, as I discovered.
I didn't get blocked, but I deleted my account two weeks after joining so why the remaining balance of my three month period haven't been returned to my credit card and no one will respond from customer service and now that I deleted I can't get back into my account to chk and see if I fully deleted the account... WOWWWW bs
Omg... same thing happened to me, locked my account for no apparent reason. I didn't do anythin to break the code of conduct or anything. I want to close my account and it wouldn't let me cuz it's locked.. such BS mingle2! !
WHY BLOKED MY ACCAUNT MINGLE2 THAT THIS PROBLEM? EMAIL:tania.alekseevna@yahoo.com
M2 is a free site so it's going to get its fair share of scammers and fakes. Going through random profiles I'd say it was around forty percent fakes and scammer spammers. Quite high yes but probably to be expected. The real problem is that M2 no doubt makes its money by the amount of subscribers it claims to have and the ads it can sell. They also have a problem with fairly bad consumer relations. Any posts related to false profiles is locked out by moderators. It's almost like they know they have a problem with not vetting profiles but don't want to own up to it.
Haha now they blocked my account too for no reason. Apparently abusive ...but who cares...there are other sites. The warn you of scammers but are scammers themselves. They really are a pain.
I reported a scammer's account to Mingle2 and the next thing i know is my account is in lock down. with this message.
Your account has been automatically locked by our abuse reporting systems.
Your account status is being reviewed by our site moderators. If this automatic lockdown is found to be in error, your account will be reinstated shortly
That was 3 days go and it's still in lock down. I swear on the Holy Bible I did not break any of Mingle2's rules.. The person I reported scammed some money off me, I know it was stupid of me to allow it to happen.
This site is full of biased mods that love to flame people. They are a very close clique and I wish I had read the reviews before I joined because lots of people posted about them being this way. I have been banned for my political views and I also get flamed constantly and the mods will only delete my posts, not the posts of the other users. Beware of this site, its not your non biased dating site. its a haven for miserable people to cyber bully all the people that they are jealous of.
Useless waste of time, not one girl or lady would message me, not even a message.
Discrimination
I was recently (February 14th 2009) permanently banned from the Mingle2 dating website. This was done without notice or explicit reasoning. The only circumstance that had arisen was that I had been criticized by the administrative team for my stance on Christianity. I had been accused of "Christian Bashing." I would very much like to launch a complaint for...
