This apartment experience has been horrible for my children and I. We relocated from nyc so that o can take a job with the state of Maryland. I was on a time crunch so I narrowed my apartment search down to a few that seem safe, clean, and within my price budget. I came down to tour the apartment before moving in and the staff seem so responsive and the apartment I was shown looked very nice. I signed the lease and was excited to call this place home. Boy was I wrong since living in August 2022 the apartment had a very bad odor as if there was a water leakage or flood the house smelled moldy. I then notice my kids allergies acting up because of the smell they would wake up with runny noses and pink eyes or a cough. This means I would have to keep them home from school and daycare and be penalized with work.. I have put in 13 request for mor only the smell, but the broken appliances, the mice, washer flooding, toilet plumbing issues. Nothing is fixed. The flood caused clothes and toys to be ruined furniture. My brand new tv broke after plugged in a socket there seem to be some electrical issues that caused the whole tv to never power on again. I asked to be transferred to a new unit in the complex I was told I couldn’t. Then I was told I would have to pay $300 or reapply to the property. I am so disgusted with how my issues are going unsolved. I will not recommend this property to anyone moving forward l.
Claimed loss: $2000
Desired outcome: Change unit or break lease without penalties
