online purchase
On 1 September 2017 I placed an order for a Seattle Double Bed and Cross Leg Wooden Pedestal. The order went through and said awaiting payment. On 2 September I did an EFT transfer for the order. On 3 September I received a mail saying that they are out of stock on both items, that my order has been cancelled and I have been issued with a MRP voucher for R3800. I phoned customer care and explained that I do not want the voucher as this is a large amount spent and I only spent it because I needed a bed urgently and asked to be refunded onto my credit card or in cash. They then proceeded to tell me that all refunds into a bank account or credit card will take 14 working days to clear - which is disgusting. Happy to take your money but very slow to return it when they are at fault. Then I asked if I could be refunded in cash and was told that it might take a while to refund this amount as most stores do not have cash and the manager from Retail Crossing will contact me today when I can come get the cash. I am still waiting. And in the meantime waiting for this refund of MY cash, I have to sleep on the floor with my pregnant belly as I do not have another R4000 lying around in my accounts for me to go buy a bed!
service/ communication/ disrespect
TODAY - 04.09.2017 @ 12H00 - 13H00 I went to the MRP clothing store at Blue Route Mall in Cape Town. I was looking at boys clothes ages 9 to 10. Firstly there wasn't much to choose from which was upsetting as the online store and the adds show different variety - there weren't any 9 to 10 clothes and the sizes were all mixed up together. I asked one of the guys wearing and MRP shirt if that was the only boys clothes in the shop, to which he answered yes. I replied and said oh its not a lot and he replied "well, it is what it is." - he wasn't wearing a name tag (no one in the store was) i proceeded to check out, where the girl that helped me needed authorization for me to pay with a voucher. she shouted for someone and waited. Another lady told her that the gentlemen working at the cashier next to her could authorize after which she asked how could he do that and then she just stared at the lady across who had said this, after which there was a debate of whether or not this male cashier was a permanent employee or not. eventually i asked her why we are waiting, she just answered "authorization" and then said something over the loud speaker. a much older lady came to the counter and told her to call "Nicole by her name otherwise she won't know to come". i then added something to purchase as i was paying the difference with my debit card - the cashier then told me " it's normal price hey." i didn't understand the reason for her saying that but oh well i assumed it was the price on the price tag... i left after what seemed an eternity to go next door to MRP home to purchase a gift bag. there was no one in the Que, but me . there were two cashiers - also NOT wearing name tags - one was filing and i'm not sure what the other one was doing. eventually one of them came to help me. I had done the entire process - paying and whatever. not oncedid either of them greet me or apologize that i was standing there. not one word was said to me in the entire time i was in the shop. I am not sure if this is what happens at MRP on a Monday, but it is not on.

delivery time
I made an online order on the 19 August 2017. I paid for an economy delivery that was said to deliver within 5-7 working days. Its been over 10 "working" days now and still no delivery. I called Mr Price Home on Wednesday 30 August to enquire about my order and they told me its STILL in transit from Durban and would PROBABLY get delivered by latest Friday 1st September. Friday came and still no delivery. I called again Friday afternoon and the lady told me its in Bloemfontein with their courier. I live in East London by the way. I asked when I can expect my delivery and she couldn't tell me. She couldn't even get hold of the courier. This is very frustrating. Mr Price Home did not even have the decency to update me of these delays and let me know when delivery will take place. Its been 3 weeks now waiting for an order that I don't even know when it will come. So much for "5-7 working day delivery". Its such a scam! It was my first online purchase at Mr Price Home and if this is how they do things then this will be the last purchase I'll ever make there. And I'll be sure to spread the word.
unethical behavior
Good day,
I trust that the recipient of this email is well,
I would like to start off with saying that I am a loyal customer of Mr.Price clothing for years and was absolutely shocked with the service I received today from your blue route mall shop. Jolene if I am not mistaken was the till operator that dealt with us, yesterday my boyfriend put aside 2 pairs of chino pants, in a common size 36 (I did not get the till operators name for yesterday)
filled in the required form and where asked when we would be purchasing the goods, we then told them tomorrow during the course of the day. Today during our lunch ( I do need to mention this as I was working on a time frame)
we proceeded to purchase the good to be told they could not find the pants. Firstly Jolene was helping every other customer instead of dealing with us, which irritated me as she was calling people behind the counter to assist her not giving an attention to the problem, to save time I said to my boyfriend go find the pants on the shelves I will wait here, again to find Jolene saying next customer instead of looking for the pants in the cupboard. Common size, there were no 36 in the coffee colour chino's, so I said to her find the pants please. Attitude for days, understandable to an extent as I was giving attitude due to frustration ( I am admitting to it) and I know that the lady we dealt with yesterday is the reason why Jolene could not find the pants today. The cupboard! The damn cupboard where they keep lay-byes and returns and supposedly keep asides, was in a huge mess! The clothing is thrown in there, no labels or tags to say it is for or anything. This lady was not interested in helping us and was opening the cupboard half ways, until we realizing she cant open it fully or all the clothing will fall out on the floor. I work in retail, I receive complaints just like this lady, but how you deal with a situation is how the person will react. And I was fuming. How can you put someone who wears a hoodie so you cant see her face, doesn't want to help a customer at the front, and to work with money. Its either that she has a I don't care attitude or she was not trained and that then becomes your fault as a company. Eventually my boyfriends maybe try opening the cupboard fully, she does, and she magically finds the pants crumpled up and no label to say its for Tristan. I then proceeded to tell her off that the cupboard state was unacceptable where she continued to tell me that's not the cupboard for clothing yet is filled? Come on, is this the way your staff treat your clothing they are suppose to be promoting? I love your clothing, its great clothing with good quality and is affordable, but your staff do not need to treat is like its cheap. I am not wanting the anyone getting fired, or a refund or anything. All I want is for procedures to be put into place so that your service as while as your staff are trained. Kind Regards Emily Clark
mr price contract call
hi there, I was just called by a gentlemen who was trying to sell me your new memberships for Cellphones...
I currently have a contract with Cell C which I informed the gentlemen, he said he is aware of that and proceeded with his pitch, I then mentioned to him that I am currently at work and dont have time right now for the phone call.in the hopes that he would say can I call you after hours..
instead of that response I then received a response from him saying "ok so you have a contract, you are at work, are there any other excuses you have like are you busy?" I proceeded to tell him that that statement was rude as it was said very sarcastically... he then said ok thank you bye and hung up the phone...
for me this is extremely rude and unnecessary.. I am someone who spends a substantial amount of money at your stores on a monthly basis and I almost dont want to go back due to the above, I have never been spoken to in such a manner before.
please can something be done about this as you have now lost another customer
please feel free to call me [protected]
kind regards,
Tamryn
no refund for damaged goods - order [protected]
I received the above order on the 8th of August 2017. While the courier was here I opened the parcel to check if everything was in order. The 2 wooden toy boxes were both damaged. The one even had a sign on it marked "damaged", meaning this product was sent to me in a damaged condition in the first place. I immediately repacked and sealed the 2 toy boxes and sent them back with the courier (fedex). I called the customer care line for online orders to inform them about my return. I got confirmation from Fedex that they delivered the goods back to the warehouse in Cape Town. A few days later I called customer service again to confirm my return, they told me to wait, because the goods have to be sent back to Durban. So I waited... Since then I called the customer service centre no less than 10 times about this return with no satisfactory answer. Today, 28 August I called again still to be confirmed that the goods has never been received back at the warehouse, which is not possible. No one called me back before close of business today. I rely on online shopping because I live far from the shops, but Mr Price Home (with the terrible customer service I received thus far) makes it an unpleasant experience.
staff attitude
I visited the Mr Price at Randfontein Village Square on Saturday to exchange a torn shirt. I advised the cashier by the name of Patricia and asked her don't they check items before they display them on the floor. She then responded and asked me why didn't I check, i must have been in a hurry she continued.
I was busy checking messages on my phone on my watch and she asked me if i was on lunch so i replied there's no lunch on Saturdays, I'm just checking my messages so she asked to see it and i showed her. Then she made a very unprofessional comment that made me realise she's actually a very rude person. She then said to me that why I'm so arrogant its because of the watch I have. I have no idea where all of that came from. But from the beginning of our conversation I could sense a very nasty attitude from her until she mentioned my arrogance. I was really not happy with the service, if she treated me like that how many others has she done it to. I work with customers myself and i never treat them like that. So i know how i have to treated as a client.
only part of order delivered
Dear MrPriceHome, I shop very regularly at your shop both at shops and on-line. It is one of my favorite shops. I live in a rural area therefor online shopping is convenient as I can't always go to the shops in the bigger towns. I order the items as I need them. Recently only part of an order was delivered. Not all of the items on the order was delivered. I have made several inquiries with you, that is online chat, email as well as phoning. My concern is that you don't even know that only part of the order was delivered. I need to tell you that. I would think you should know exactly the status of my order. Every time the feedback is that it was already delivered but in fact only part of the items was delivered but the agents doesn't know this and nor does they update the history so that they know it for future reference. I want to please know when the balance of the order will be deliver? The order number is [protected] and I have tried to communicate with you since the day that only part of the order was delivered. Please contact me as soon as possible.
mobile contract
I recieved a phone call from MRPmobile, i took the contract out and informed the consultant i can only pay the R129 contract fee amount not more.I have a iphone with MTN, the mrpmobile bill amount for 1 month was R1500 the next R3000.Collections department called me to make arrangements, but when i took out the contract i requested to ONLY pay R129.00.
MRP Mobile is the worst company that ive ever dealt with.
bad service
went to wynberg store on 20 aug 17 worked into the store back girls shoe section music was so loud ask the assistant for help regarding a shoe size and to turn the music volume down ...he came back to me saying he think promenade mitchells plain might have took other shoes instead went to the till to pay with my mrp card only ro hear they offline ...nt a notice up ...the tall guy wasnt even interested in helping me further ...i paid cash instead because i needed the shoes ...my point is what if i didnt have cash on me and why wasnt there any notices up ...i wont shop again at the wynberg branch
poor customer service
I dont usually complain but On 2017-08-18 I returned a tennis racket to mr price sport three rivers. They gave me a voucher as I wanted to buy something else. I baught a total of R500 and then the voucher didnt work. And she couldnt think of a way to assist me. The lady told me that I must come back the following day to purchase the items. My vehicle does not run on water it costs me money to travel up and down and some of us do work for a living. And the things I took will be out of stock when I can return to purchase them as its on special. Hopefully you can think of somthing to fix this problem.
unauthorised debit orders from my bank account
I took a contract package of tablet at R99 per month in 2015 for the period of 24 months. Last year I decided to take away from my son because he lost and I found it but the sim card was damaged. I then requested for the replacement of a sim card which I activated and used seldom. For some reasons I removed the sim and put it in my wallet. Its been more than 6months now that am not using it YET mrp mobile debits amonts of R199, R378, R492, R524 😈WHAT FOR?
I want my money back or else I will take this matter to the Ombudsman
extremely rude call centre agents, extremely unhelpful!!!
I called in twice and was holding for an agent, when the first one named samantha said she was putting me through to the correct department, she only put me back to switch board, she did not even listen to my query properly.. It is really frustrating when you call in and try your best to be nice and the agents treat you like garbage. This is really the worst service ever, maybe you should train your customer service agents properly, preferably ones who do not have an attitude when a client calls in for help or confirmation.
Also please change your auto email to "our agents will eventually get back to when they are in a better mood", which might be never
sim card sold by misinformation
In mid May 2017, I received a call from a lady (Mr Price Mobile) she discussed that there was a promotion of a SIM card with R50 airtime loaded which she would like to send to me. I am a Vodacom and MTN customer for over 16 years. I told her I didn't need a new cellphone contract or Sim, and she said this was a promotion that wouldnt be repeated, and that I could have this SIM in case of emergencies as the airtime would not expire, however, if I used over and above the amount of R50, then Mr Price mobile would send me a bill.
I told her I am not interested, but she called me another 2 times. Eventually, she persuaded me to take the Cell C SIM (which cost 49c) and I told her that I would keep it for emergencies. The SIM was posted to me in May. At the end of May, I paid Mr Price R30 via EFT, with the intention to pay R20 end of June. I had not even opened the SIM or used it. I did not received any invoices. In August 2017, I started receiving threatening SMS and emails from their Trace/Collections dept. I was SHOCKED.
I called Mr Price, and spoke to someone in their mobile department with my complaint and I asked them to investigate this, as I was not going to pay for a SIM I had not used, I was not told I would be billed monthly, or that the unused Airtime would be forfeited if not used. The SIM was still in the courier package. The lady deactivated the SIM same day, yet I keep receiving their threatening emails and SMS, and each time I call, its the same story... Mr Price Mobile says account is under investigation to retrieve call (2 weeks now) and that notes are on the Account, but Trace Collections Dept (who can see these notes, but ignores it) sends Credit Bureau my information to say 2 months in arrears! Then I call Mr Price again to find out why one department does not talk to the other department, because at the end of the day, the Acc dept is for all depts.
So incompetent. Will never do business with Mr Price again.
return not accepted
Disgusted
On the 29th of July 2017, I purchased a fitting black formal pants from Mr Price Tygervalley. After the 4th time wearing it, I noticed that the pants looked particularly worn out and hadn't even washed it during that time. I decided to take it back on the 13th August 2017. I spoke to a girl named Jenny (I think she is a supervisor), who in turn spoke to her manager, named Aubernita. The manager advused me that she cannot accept the pants as it has been worn and there is no manufacturing fault. Also that I should have returned it after the first wear. So elastic stretching and threading, after the 4th wear, is not a manufactering fault? And had I seen any problems after the 1st wear, I obviously would have taken it back, asap. She was really unapologetic about the whole situation and not once apologised for the inconvenience. She did not even know what to say to me when I asked her if she would accept such a product. I am disgusted by her attitude and I am very disappointed that she offered no alternative to my complaint. I ended up leaving the pants there, as she would speak to her regional manager on Monday. What's more, I did not even want to be reimbursed with money. I was happy to take something else in its place. I regularly shop at the Tygervalley branch, but after this issue is resolved, I will no longer be shopping there. Disgusting!
cash paying customers vs mrp account holders
Hi there.
My concern is why do MRP account holders get first privilege as to cash paying customers?
We share a open office at work and when one person goes on MRP site see nice stuff... the other 5 of also go on the site. We shop for kids and family members. What I have noticed in the past months, I will buy items and pay via EFT immediately for my goods. The account holder does the same, 3 days later I get an email the item is out of stock, and I will get a voucher for my goods. The account holder however gets all the items and 2 days before mine.
SO what makes the account holder better than me? I buy a lot for my kids specially online because its so convenient. But now I sit with more than R300 worth of vouchers because the items I want is out of stock. BUT ! The MRP account holder got a full order.
I feel its very unfair, and it probably happens every where ...
Just that I wont buy there as often again.
My mail is probably a drop in the ocean to others, but I just wanted to put it out there..
Thanks
Celeste
service
Hi my name is Xolo Msolo and I live in Dobsonville Soweto, Johannesburg and I have been receiving a bad service and a bad attitude from you from your employees, including your outsourced staff in Dobsonville Shopping Centre.
My first incident was when I tried to ask a female staff for assistant in your shop then acted as if I was someone who wanted to propose her and gave me attitude and made me feel as i was a beggar or I was there on credit, then I encountered another female staff member at the till dragging their feet and taking their time to service us .
Lastly on 31 August 2017 at about 17:00 in the afternoon I went to your shop with my girlfriend to do some shopping and the female security at the door told us that we couldn't come in with our grocery trolley, and I ask her "where we could park our trolley in order to continue with our shopping but she blatantly refused to look after the trolley telling us that one of us had to stay outside in order to guard the trolley, I asked her because normally when I come to your store I buy things for me and my girlfriend if it means that we had to take turns in order for us to shop? I had to call one of your staff inside and I am not sure if she was the manager or what and it had to be settled with her asking the security if we could come in with the trolley then when we go out then she can search it for things from the store.
What made me angry was the security old lady had a bad attitude she wouldn't even look at us whilst we were trying to tell her about the trolley being filled with groceries only and the bags were tied together so that nothing slips out of them, at them same time you could see that the security lady didn't care and had to be plead to in order for her to allow us to come in because your staff had to ask her thrice to allow us to come in and I was so angry to the fact that I always spend a lot of my money at Mr Price.
All in all it seems its something that it is a norm that Mr Price staff is rued to your customers because when I tell such stories people echo the very same sentiments that Mr Price staff is rued and always, and that is even why the old female security (light in complexion)had the Gaul to act that way because she new that is how they treat customers
I buy things for myself, girlfriend, sister, children and my parents at Mr Price every month but this is the service I receive?, Your staff making me feel as if I was a popper or a criminal.

cell phone contract
3/8/2017 Good Day, I have a cellphone contract with MRP Mobile which I took on behalf of my son when he phone was lost..he found it and now I'm using the phone but I also have my original simcard from Cell C in the phone, I BARELY USE the MRP because of a few reasons, I almost never have signal where I stay and I buy a whatsup bundle on MY original Cell C simcard every month, so the simcard I ALWAYS use is CEll C, I only use MRP when I need to make calls and my airtime on my card is not sufficient. Last month there was a deduction on my bank for my contract which is normally R139 to the amount of R243, I phoned Mr. Price and the lady told me that I bought some data? This was peculiar because I KNOW I don't use data on MRP. THis month there was another deduction of R234 and then this morning I phoned again and spoke to Janine on number [protected] which informed me that I bought a RECURRING data bundle in JUNE? WTF why would I do that? I DON't USE MRP FOR DATA, I am getting Pdddd off because of paying money for something I DONT USE! She told me to phone again on 29/8 to get the recurring cancelled before next deduction on 1/9...BUT when I go into MRP on *140# and want to check this so called recurring data, my phone INFORMS me that You have no recurring bundles? So for WHO am I paying their data now? maybe an employee of MRP?
Good Day, I received a phone call from Sithembile Ngcobo on 23/08/2017. A great Thanks to her, she promised me that the "recurring "data bundle has been stopped and the last extra payment was due on end of August 2017. Hope and pray that this is the last of this problem. What I can't understand is WHY this problem wasn't resolved with my first phone call THREE MONTHS ago?
So another and hopefully the LAST deduction other than my monthly payment of R139.00 has been made?
For this I will have to wait and see end September 2017!
