I will admit that I do not use my M&T account on a regular basis, but it’s always helpful to have a brick and mortar bank so I can deposit money when needed. I typically use the drive thru teller but that particular day I had no time before work and their hours are not convenient for me.. I used mobile deposit for the first time ever. One check was literally on the brink of expiring and the other was a 2 year overdue tax amendment. Both were advised to clear the next day. Hours after I deposited both, I received a text and was locked out of my account. The 800 number advised me to visit a branch with the checks and my ID to clear the matter (defeating the purpose of mobile deposit, but I obliged). Took time away from work to go in and they said they couldn’t lift the block. Called me a few hours later asking if I had documentation to prove the treasury check was real.. I came in again the next day, provided the documentation that was supposed to be emailed to whatever department was handling the block. I received a letter that following Monday from the bank saying they would hold my funds for 5 business days before clearing the checks. It has been atleast 14. Neither the bank nor customer service has any answers for me, my account is still locked and my money untouchable. This is unacceptable and once the matter is solved, I doubt I will ever bank with them again.
Desired outcome: Access to my account and funds.
