We been livin' in our house for almost a year now and Murphy ain't fixin' nothin' yet
We been livin' in our house for almost a year now and Murphy ain't fixin' nothin' yet. They just give ya enough to make ya happy. They buildin' houses so fast they ain't even finishin' the ones they already started. We been callin' warranty for months and ain't nothin' happenin'. Do ya research before ya choose Murphy. Our floors are all messed up and need replacin'. They buildin' poorly. If I could give 'em a zero, I would. We picked 'em 'cause we thought they was good, but don't make the same mistake we did. Find another builder if ya wanna build a home for ya family. We done reached out to Murphy many times and even talked to Charlie Murphy on the phone. Ain't nothin' been done yet. And it ain't just us, it's the whole subdivision.
Murphy Homes, Inc
Murphy Homes, Inc. is a company that doesn't seem to care about their customers. They took down their reviews from Facebook, which is suspicious. They didn't even finish my house and their warranty team is a nightmare. They're slow, unresponsive, and don't do their job right. I wouldn't hire them again. The door guys are terrible too. Murphy doesn't check if the work is done right or if the tradesmen have the right tools. They're not proactive and they were late for our thirty day check in. They don't respond to emails quickly and their responses are incomplete. They don't schedule tradesmen on time and they don't make sure they know what to do. They don't even check if the work is done or if the tradesmen cleaned up. They need to be reminded over and over again to do their job. They only do the bare minimum.

This company don't follow through with their promises
This company don't follow through with their promises. They never finished my home and their warranty department is very inefficient. There is zero correspondence from their warranty employee. There are still major issues with the home and it is mediocre work at best. I don't recommend this company to anyone due to the poor experience I've had with them. The company has a list of what needs to be finished but these have failed to be completed as of today, even though I've been in the home for almost 4 months at this point.
We signed w/Murphy Homes in Jan 2020 to build our home (on our lot) in 6 months
We signed w/Murphy Homes in Jan 2020 to build our home (on our lot) in 6 months. Charlie Murphy hasn't finished our home yet. He keeps making empty promises about completion and blames lack of materials. He built homes in Greenbrier Subdivision in Madison and is now on 2 newer subdivisions, The Cottages & The Estates @ Brierfield homes in Meridianville, Alabama. Houses identical to ours have been completed in Madison (we saw them) and The Estates according to their website. Mr. Murphy's priority isn't to complete our home, it's discriminatory and unfair. After months, and now, a year and half later, still not finished! He's taken a personal interest in trying to press his ways and even threatened us with not finishing based on his feelings. He only talks to us because we're holding his last draw. Can't reason w/him!
I closed on my house with Murphy Homes on November 29
I closed on my house with Murphy Homes on November 29. They have a warranty program for one year, with a 30-day follow-up and an 11-month follow-up. During the 30-day follow-up, my family noticed that the cabinets were poorly installed. There was glue everywhere, gaps where the cabinets connected, nails popping out in a few places, and one side of the sink cabinet was detaching from the countertop and not even. When I addressed these issues, they said they would address them during the 11-month follow-up since they were switching cabinet companies. They were aware that the current cabinet company was doing a poor job. Now, during the 11-month follow-up, they are saying they will not fix the issues since the cabinet is functional, and they claim that I signed the 30-day warranty. The only reason I signed the 30-day warranty was that they said they would fix it during the 11-month warranty. I have been communicating with the warranty department about the cabinet issues and sent pictures of the cabinets on September 2nd, showing that the cabinet under the sink was detaching and leaning to the left. This was the reply from the Murphy Homes warranty department: "Good morning, I have sent an email to check on the cabinets. Getting material is taking months from the manufacturer most of the time. I will try and have you an update by the end of the week for the other items." From many conversations, they have acknowledged that they will fix the issues. However, now with the 11-month warranty review, they will NOT fix the issue since it's functional. It may be functional now; however, I am not sure what will happen later. This is very poor workmanship from the cabinet company that Murphy Homes hired. I feel that Murphy Homes is handling the warranty issues very poorly.

I found mold behind our kitchen cabinets in early October because of bad construction that let in moisture from outside
I found mold behind our kitchen cabinets in early October because of bad construction that let in moisture from outside. The mold was so bad that we had to take out the cabinets and big appliances. We couldn't use our kitchen for almost a month and a half. Even with a temporary box for the oven, we couldn't cook in a clean space. So we had to eat out, which cost a lot more than cooking at home. We asked Murphy Homes for help with the extra expenses, but they asked us how much we wanted. We told them to use the federal government's meals and incidental expense rate (M&IE) for our area. This rate tells you how much it costs to feed one person three healthy meals a day. Murphy Homes finally got back to us after we asked them a few times. But they only offered us $800, which was way too low. They didn't explain why they offered that amount. When we talked to the company President, he didn't care about our questions or concerns. He said that Murphy Homes wasn't responsible for the trouble we had because of their bad work. He said that the $800 was a really good offer. We know that small problems don't usually need money back, but when the problem is big and could hurt people's health, the company should help. If Murphy Homes thinks that it's okay to have big mold problems and not help their customers, they shouldn't be in business. This is really bad customer service.
