auto preview function
Netflix was a godsend for my wife, diagnosed with a brain tumor from lung cancer 7 years ago. Each new device we have purchased (2 tivos and a roku) had better software. But I gave her a roku express for christmas and i'm ready to throw it in the trash because it supports the new "auto preview" function. We spend 3 or more hours together each evening and quite a bit of that time watching netflix. We used to be able to quietly read and discuss the descriptions of shows we thought we might enjoy. We are now literally assaulted with sight and sound from the moment we log on (we can mute sound but not sight!). And if we choose "read more" the show starts playing immediately and gets added to our "continue watching" list. It's really hard to read the words because the background keeps changing, resulting in eye strain and frustration. I contacted customer support (the only options were calling and messaging, I guess because they don't want a written record of the complaint and their response that would exist if they allowed email!). The csr said he would "pass on" my complaint. I'm already shopping for a used roku that doesn't support this insanity. I understand some people enjoy being overwhelmed with sensory data, but netflix offers no way to opt out. We are both in our 60's and they are literally destroying our quiet and peaceful time together. Whoever designed this insult to sanity ought to spend some time with their grandparents and leave ashamed.
chris rock special
Promoting a special in which a has-been comedian is trying to stay relevant by making comments like he wants to see equal numbers of white kids shot and mothers crying on the news is appalling. How could your company be that idiotic to think that was something viable to say much less broadcast. Your company is doing nothing but perpetuating racism.
chris rock special
Stating he wants an equal world, by seeing a white kid shot each month so he can see their mothers cry! That is not funny, it is what is wrong with the world. To wish for anyone's child to be shot, die and mothers cry. And for this company to allow this type of filth to be seen with Netflix seal of approval of just wrong and sends the wrong message. Take that down from your site. Very disappointed, very unprofessional.
disjointed
Part 1 and part 2 of the show disjointed was just announced that Netflix would be cancelling the show. I recommend this show to everyone. I completely enjoy it. I have watched the 2 parts over and over. I was hoping to keep Netflix because maybe it would be back on. But this isn't the only streaming service I use. I have cable and hulu. I'll be happy to cancel my Netflix account and recommend my family and friends to do the same if this continues. Crap shows like big mouth and the ranch get picked up but something great and funny gets cancelled. The actors are great the story is uplifting. Let me know if I'm going to cancel my account by your actions and your next response to this complaint.
the series: suits
I am watching series 7 of Suits. I am very upset that episode 6 and 7 have suddenly introduced the 'F' word. This has not appeared before in all the other series which is one reason why we were happy to watch them.
Why is this necessary? It has really spoiled it. There was some swearing before, the favourite word being 'sh--' which we could just about live with.
However, this has downgraded this series for us and we have to complain and we are really upset about. Why devalue the series. This really lowers the values.
A very unhappy viewer :-(
This was SO unneccesary.

you are getting rid of a popular shows
When I watch netflix it tells me that family guy is about to be taken down. I don't think that's smart because you already got rid of american dad. If family guy is taken you will lose a lot of customers and myself. Just a suggestion, don't do this. When you took american dad I almost left, but you still had family guy. It's one of those shows you never get tired of watching and I really enjoy it. Please reconsider getting rid of family guy.
And, no. They won't lose one single subscription if they drop the show.
Family guy is still available through the FX or FXX app.
netflix streaming
I am getting sick and tired of all the non English films on netflix. You show them in English titles, I start to watch only to find I have wasted my time.
I would like to remove them as choices from my list. All list! Or you should show that it's a foreign language on the titles.
This has me close to cancel the subscription.
If Netflix insists on playing foreign films, please segurgrat them from us that don't want to watch them.
I am complaining about a netflix original
hello I'm a Netflix subscribers that has been a very huge fan of this streaming network since day one but as of recent i have some major concerns on the msg Netflix may be sending out to their young viewers. I'm a mom of two hound impressionable children that also loves Netflix recently my kids watched Sahara the animated movie and since seeing that my 7year old has been acting out some scenes from the movie particular the scene where one of the snakes is "sniffing pollen" understand as a parent its very disturbing to see your child with an stuffed animal making sound effects of sniffing sound specially knowing what's it is indicating. I should not have to be having an drug talk with my 7 year old due to inappropriate things being displayed in movies at this point I am reconsidering my subscription.
Maybe you should control what your kids watch. Sorry you have to be a parent, but the rest of the world shouldn't have to change because of your kid

no service again
Hi I am a Netflix customer but for the last 7 days iv had no Netflix to watch. Iv tried watching a film but it stops and. Buffers and then the normal rubbish on screen . We're having trouble accessing these titles please try again later. NOT good enough when you get this every single night. You have put the prices up for greed but your standards have sunk so low your reputation is going down the pan . Every where on line every one is complaining about your servers going down every night. I will be closing my account with you as it's not worth having. I don't have this problem with amazon. And you can't blame my servers as theirs nothing wrong at my end before you start insinuating it's my fault . No it yours again. I also want a refund for one week so far as this has been happening every day and night for 7 days consistent days. Your service is very very poor and I will no longer recommend you to anyone.my service has been down since 29th January and it's ongoing and did watch one film today which stopped every 15 minutes and tonight another
same shows over and over
Netflix has a thumbs up or thumbs down rating system. This is the only way to get rid of shows you have already seen from being suggested. The problem is that other similar shows are then ignored as a suggestion. It is ridiculous, a waste of time, and just a way for Net Tricks to scam money for free by increasing the searching with already seen shows, rather then the watching time.
They say it is to do with algorithms but what a load of rubbish.
You could have a thumbs up or thumbs down or star rating system but still allow the consumer to remove any title from the suggestions list - so they DO NOT have to scroll through already seen shows. For example season 1 should not be able to be scolled through again unless the consumers wants it there, or searches for it, if already seen or rated. Season 2 however should be able to be suggested based on rated, which could automatically be thumbs up and be changed by the consumer to thumbs down if they do not like it. If it is removed from the list without being watched then, the consumer must not want to see it then, whether seen in the past or because they do not want to watch it at all. Likewise for movies that have already been seen, whether they have been seen on Netflix or not. In other words, they could have a rating but be removed from the search suggestion by the consumer to prevent the needless scrolling. A movie or show seen outside of Netflix could then be rated yet removed from the search lists as well, making it easier for the consumer to make a choice and to watch new content. Some consumers may get a quarter or half way through a movie and think that this is rubbish and want to remove it from the suggestions list. Could be because they can't watch and read sub titles at the same time or they think it is a poor storyline. It really doesn't matter but it should not be suggested if the consumer does not want it suggested. This is a paid for system so the consumer should have choices, not already seen suggestions.
All shows could have a thumbs up or down and a neutral as the starting point.
incomplete seasons
Feb 2018
Having most of MadMen (season 1-6) on Netflix, I find that they only have the first 7 episodes of season 7. I rang to ask what happened - and the customer service person was really rude. She kept trying to explain that it was likely a licensing issue. She kept trying to explain - and I kept saying I understood. Eventually they explained that licensing and content would not speak to the customer service team.
This company is very very frustrating to deal with.
dexter
Hello, I love Netflix it's a great entertainment app and has a lot of great movies and series. Unfortunately I have to complain because I was half way through watching dexter and it has been deleted. I would highly recommend this be put back onto Netflix. This is a great show and would appreciated by many others.
I would be very disappointed if I am not able to finish this series.
Many thanks.
kids movie - sahara
I don't usually complain about things, but I wanted to draw your attention to a movie advertised on netflix kids called ‘Sahara'. It's an animation and clearly targeting children, yet in the UK is rated a 12. I'm not sure why a child's film rated 12 should be advertised at all; however my son saw it advertised and as a massive fan of snakes wanted to watch it. I saw the rating and said no I would need to watch it to see if it was suitable. I am thoroughly amazed that the content of this ‘Netflix original' was thought to be ok. The fact that a skinny girl snake was called chubby, and then the other snakes show her how to stop her from not eating?! Are you trying to condone anorexia? Or the snake with a pollen addiction? These are not themes or values that I want my children, or imagine anyone wants promoted to their kids.i realise that my one opinion doesn't amount to much, however I do think you should consider what is suitable to advertise on Netflix kids, and put some measures in place for what is considered suitable content for children and the messages you are communicating.
netflix gift card for $60 that my mom brought for christmas
My name is Anslem Pierre and I had a huge argument with your department it was the floor Supervisor goes by the name of Russell he didn't want to give his last name. My mom bought a gift card for me for $60 gift card. When I used the message I Got on the gift card was $60 was redeemed and I can start watching my movies I have never in my life see so much incompetence in a company. Now to my surprise I get an e-mail saying my account is on hold this just pisses me off. I am not sure now that I want to sign back with Netflix because I felt that I was being ripoff off. If there was a problem with the account then why was I not notified in December about this why are they contacting me now when I already used the gift card. Unless this problem is corrected I will not be dealing with Netflix anymore you have lost me as a long time consumer. The problem had better be solved or fixed soon if not you can kiss your long time customer goodbye and has for your department they were very disrespectful to me as a long time consumer. I will not be dealing with you guys unless this problem is solved and solved quickly. I am not going to buy another gift card for $60 to watch my movies what a rip off you guys are in starting the New Year of 2018.

advertisements
On your home page, there was an advertisement for a show called "DOPE". The advertisement was a hand holding a small bag of white powder. I noticed this as I was turning on Netflix to watch a show with my boyfriend, who is in recovery for drug addiction. Both of us were very upset by and disconcerted over the insensitivity of this advertisement, which was the first thing to pop up when we turned on Netflix. Please consider the effects of what is displayed front and center; it could make all the difference for someone and their loved ones.
inappropriate content
I am complaining about the automatic previews that Netflix now runs while I am picking a show. My young son was in the room and in the preview the show said the F word. I am not trying to censor their content - but I do not believe I should have automatic previews forced on me. Especially when they are going to have inappropriate content in them! I would appreciate this feature to be able to be turned off. I cannot continue to pay for a product that exposes my child to inappropriate content unnecessarily.
monthly service
I cancelled my Netflix approximately a 1yr and 3 months ago. I noticed back in September they were still withdrawing about $10/month and I hadn't used it or thought about it in a year. Since the charge was only about $10/month I had overlooked it. But it had cost me about $120 total after adding it up. I called to cancel it again. The service rep was extremely rude and claimed they could tell if I had called before and that I had never called to cancel; however, he ended up telling me he for sure had it cancelled this time and would put a note on the acct to refund the $120 if I disputed it with my bank. Well my bank can only legally dispute back like 60 days. And come to find out they have continued to take out the fee each month since. I had to put in a stop payment with my bank and am out about $150 total for a service(that has not been returned to me) that I haven't used and was suppose to be cancelled twice now!
Im being charge twin on my credit card were to go for help My nane is Jack Phebus [protected] e/m maybear46@hotmail.com could you contact me thank you
please answer my question
Hi Amanda. Good to hear from you. Is it at all possible that you're failing to contact ' member services?' Other departments do not have the ability to close your account, which is why you may still be getting charged.
damaged dvds
I recently received two dvd's That were scratched. They were MISCONDUCT and Heist. I reported them as damaged and was sent two replacements. Misconduct froze a couple of times, I was able to forward it and it played fine until the very end and then froze again. It was at the most crucial part of the movie! We still are unsure how it ended. Does anyone check the disc when they are returned or are they just stuck in another envelope and sent to someone else? I will say it doesn't happen often, but it is very annoying to have it happen at all. The replacement movie "Heist" played just fine. I feel like we should given some sort of adjustment on our bill to compensate us for the inconvenience and time lost with these incidents. Thank you for listening and considering my request.

dvd service
Whenever these guys ship a damaged dvd and ship a replacement, the replacement will take the place of the next dvd in queue. The price goes up and the service has gotten worst! Not too mention the mailing out service has gotten worst. Netflix is going down hill and not as good as it was just within the past year. May cancel all together soon! What a drag!
