History Channel / A&E Television Networks Disappointed with the Shift in Content

As a passionate history enthusiast, I must express my disappointment with the current direction of IM-HISTORY. The recent focus on sensationalized narratives and reality TV-style content has strayed far from the insightful and educational programming I once admired. The excessive emphasis on speculative themes like aliens and scripted drama detracts from the channel's credibility and educational value. I long for the days when IM-HISTORY delved into genuine historical events, archeology, and anthropology with depth and authenticity. The shift towards entertainment over substance is disheartening and fails to uphold the channel's mission of enlightening viewers about our rich past. I sincerely hope to see a return to the roots of genuine historical exploration and storytelling that made IM-HISTORY a beacon for history lovers like myself.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks AI

I enjoy watching shows of the unexplained or strange things in the world.

When I am watching a show I don't need an AI voice telling me what I see on the screen. Yes I can tell it's a man with a beard. I can read the persons name that is talking. I can see the name of the show. Why does The History channel think we are so stupid we can't tell what we are seeing. If they are doing this for blind viewers. That is an oxymoron most don't have TV. I have to stop watching because of this annoying voice telling me what I am seeing. Just rude!

History Channel / A&E Television Networks Hot Balls

You had an ad on the is beneath common decency..

The ad had a black guy complaining about HOT BALLS,If you buy this trimmer will solve the problem...that is discussing..

I would never had thought a channel that has KIDS watching would have such FILTH on...Date AUG 31 It was also on On patrol live past 2 weeks...As well as the domestic [I think since they destroy property and loot stores]] terrorist group BLM only missing..

complaints will probably be starting on face book and probably twitter...

You have a great channel to watch [up to this point] why ruin it and loose watchers..

Desired outcome: Get the filth off you site..

History Channel / A&E Television Networks Mountain Men

Although I am not a fan of trapping, I do respect that it is a way of life for some.

One of the featured Mountain Men, Jake?, has dogs that he uses to scare mountain lions away from farms. This man disturbs me to the point of fast forwarding through any segment that he is on.

He sets his dogs free to pin the lions in a tree or worse on the ground where the dogs can be torn up.

If he would spend more time being closer to his dogs instead of filming himself he would be able to help his dogs when they are in danger instead of allowing them to be torn up. Usually he has to hike 1 to 3 miles to find his dogs and by the time he shows up it is too late to help them. He should spend less time inflating himself in front if the camera and more time following behind his dogs.

Desired outcome: Either cut him from the show, limit his segments, or have him stay much closer to his dogs.

My husband watches Mountain Men

Apparently they do not a have fact checkers to validate information spewed by the trappers.

Besides dogs getting hurt

Misinformation about wolves and other trapped animals is sickening. Trapping for skins is so ludicrous- who wears fur anymore .

Wolves are not evil nor do they decimate deer herds or cattle So a rancher looses an old sick cow or fragile calf. It does not break the bank

Get your facts right producers !

I understand the purpose of these survival films it can come in handy for those that may not understand how things will happen how you would live if there was no power you be off the grid back to the way it used to be and I can appreciate that I hunt fish and do all that myself survival training just in case something like that was to happen but what I don't understand I love this show Mountain Men but the problem I have with it why there's no black people out there showing that they are mountain men too I don't understand that all the episodes I've ever saw consists of Caucasian people are y'all trying to say black folks do not know how to survive in the harsh Wilderness because if you're saying that then you are sadly mistaken.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks History channel streaming app ads

We were watching Alone with our young kids and at least 10 ads for SBABE for the one hour episode. 3 were back to back. We get that ads are needed but come on those are highly inappropriate for a family channel. And of course you can't bypass them. We are highly disgusted and ashamed with your marketing/ad team. This was 7 pm, not a typical bedtime for school aged kids.

Desired outcome: Remove the Sbabe ads. Literally 3 more since I have been writing this.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks Ancient Aliens

This show is nothing but disinformation. It is full of lies and propagates itself as a religion. The people involved with the show are milking the public of it's money by selling books, seminars etc. Your show enables them.

It obliterates true history and muddles it in falsified claims and stories. There is no opposing view you have to offer to this show, which there are many people who do so.

Desired outcome: Your Channel should air an opposing view to this show so the truth be known.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks LGBTQ being promoted in ads.

If you want the audience that you are advertising to then you should have programming that is appropriate. We do not want to see LGBTQ whatever ads with deviated lifestyles in our commercials. We and most of our family and friends have been watching Oak Island and Skinwalker since the beginning. We will watch for a few more weeks to see if these type ads are still on your channel and. We are done if they are not removed. No more tolerance for the bs being pushed on our family. We are tolerant of everyone’s choices for them to choose whatever lifestyle they want and that is their business. What is being shown and allowed into our family on tv…that is our business.

Desired outcome: Remove ALL LGBTQ advertising from your channel.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks History channel commercial

The apretude commercial that I have recently seen on the History Channel is absolutely inappropriate and embarrassing. I don't care who you are trying to include, my children enjoy many of the shows on the channel, but they will no longer be able to watch. I cannot sit and wait for commercials like this so I can cover their eyes. It is not that they don't see these things in the world around them, but this commercial goes entirely too far!

Desired outcome: Commercial removed from channel

History Channel / A&E Television Networks The History channel

On Friday February 24th at approximately 9:45am, a foreign language commercial came on the history channel. The program I was watching was in English but the commercial was in Spanish. I only understand English. I complained to spectrum first, who noted it & suggested I reach out to the network. Please rectify this issue. I should not be charged for commercials especially those that are in a different language than the program that I am watching

Desired outcome: I want the commercials to be in the language of the program, English only or provide a discounted price for the offensive interruptions and provide free Spanish language classes if I'm forced to listen to the non American commercials

History Channel / A&E Television Networks Inappropriate ads

I watch the History Channel app once a week to watch The Curse of Oak Island. This morning, there were three inappropriate ads in a row. The first was for KY products. It wasn't terrible, but I did not need to see that one. The second was an underwear commercial with three women walking around in panties and bras. I do not remember the brand because I tried to not watch it. I looked up once and saw a woman laying on a bed with her leg covering her private part so it looked like she was not wearing any panties. I definitely did not need to see that and certainly would not want my teenage son exposed to that. The third ad, which was immediately following the other two, was for Plan B birth control. I do feel that is emergency abortion which is murder. I do not know if those ads were all shown because Valentine's Day was this week, but all of those are just inappropriate. They are all very personal things which should not be advertised on TV or any other ways people watch TV shows.

Desired outcome: Please stop showing these types of commercials. The Curse of Oak Island is a family show so the ads that are aired during the show should be family friendly as well.

Why is it every 2 commercials the one with the guy that is dancing with the girl who is dancing while playing golf. We have been watching Dog the Bounty Hunter for about 3 days and we saw this commercial like 25-30 times already.

History Channel / A&E Television Networks Programs

I'm so disappointed in the history Channels shows. I watched in the beginning because I thought the "documentaries" were fact based.

I've since learned, that they are not. Not only are they fiction, but the "witness testimonials " and so called " scientists " are only self proclaimed.

I can no longer watch any of the shows without feeling like I've wasted my time, and haven't learned any facts. How very sad, but it just goes to show, how easily anyone can simple "rewrite " it as long as they have a platform.

Desired outcome: Cancel these fiction shows, and have some integrity for your name The History Channel

On way to much. With all of the shows you have, why is this fake show on so much? An article said by the producers that the items being pawned were seen and priced before the show off camera. Plus a real antique would not go to a pawn shop unless stolen or in great need of money. Fact. You can get way more from a real antique dealer. So fake and real boring and not history.

Desired outcome: Take it off the air.

On way to much. The shows items are pre priced and found out if real before even filmed the one playing dumb has a college degree in English. Not stupid. A really boring show. I have moved from History Channel to the travel channel and Story Channel. At least they do not have that scripted pawn stars and American Pickers which the producers setup to include prices. Plus oak Island, after all these years found nothing, yet you push it all the time. From a lost viewer. These are not history.

Desired outcome: More history shows

History Channel / A&E Television Networks History Channel mislabelling ethnic identities.

In the series ‘Ancient Aliens’ you describe explorer Stanley Hall as ‘Scottish’ (S02E04 ‘Underground Aliens’) yet throughout the series label every English figure you come across as ‘British’.

It should be noted that Britain is a political arrangement, not an ethnic identity, and that many are rather tired of America’s anti-English prejudice. ‘British’ and ‘English’ are not synonyms.

There is no ‘British’ nation (England is the oldest independent nation state in Europe). There is most certainly no ‘British’ accent in the sense of one standing for all the others. ‘British’ identity ceased to exist, where it existed at all, when the English arrived to create England.

Scots and Welsh are as part of the United Kingdom furthermore. They too are 'British'. What a pity A&E puts political prejudice before respect for the facts.

As historian E. A. Freeman wrote in 1879:

"What is there in a name? Names express ideas, and he who uses wrong names is not likely to have right ideas. Britain [is] a geographical name. England is the land of the English. It is most important [we] never apply the names England or English to the land or people of Britain in the days before the land became England by the English people settling in it. If we do we take people for our forefathers who are not our forefathers."

I bought the series on DVD but then returned it in the wake of this insult. A good decision judging by the monstrous farrago of lies about ‘Black Britons’ on the website, and by which you presumably mean ‘black English’.

Let the rest of us give thanks that there ain’t no such thing dearie, and never will be.…

Desired outcome: I'd like a response. Apologies are insincere and a waste of time so I'll leave that to you as a matter of choice. However there seems no scope for an email address, and as I'd like a reply here is mine: [protected]@tutanota.com
