Service and Worst Comapny
I've been a customer for four years, and I spoke to multiple Netspend representatives on the phone for four years. They also verified who I was with my card information and social security number. Not one time did a Netspend representative say they noticed that I had other Netspend accounts under my name and social security number, not even an email. I login into my Netspend account, and I noticed an unauthorized transaction. I clicked on the transaction, but I could not see it, so I called Netspend. I asked about the unauthorized transaction. I was told it was because I had four to five accounts with Netspend under my name and social security number that they had a negative balance. After explaining to the representative multiple times that I only have one account with Netspend, they tried to say that they were my account by repeatedly asking me the same question and saying your accounts were negative. I ask to speak to a manager about the issue. The manager was not helpful at all. Very rude, I tried to explain the problem with zero assistance. They took my funds out of my account without even notifying me about the fraudulent accounts. The worst part is that they ask me to submit a claim on their own mistake. Once I submitted the claim, they closed my account. I had zero access to the account. I did not ask Netspend to close the account. They did that themself. I had funds in my saving, and I don't even know what they did with the funds. My paycheck goes directly to the Netspend account, and they did not even want to explain the service is the worst. There was zero notification from Netspend about the fraud account under my name for four years. The customer service is terrible. The company only cares about the money they make from people, not helping people. I will never do business with Netspend or recommend Netspend to anyone.

Dispute charges
I open an dispute with them on 3-22-22, about some charges I didn't recognize, and charges where I got charged for services I didn't receive. I received an email saying this dispute will takes over 2 months to be complete. I ask for provisional credit to my account in the amount of the charges which were small. I called customer service, I can't get through, they blocked my card and want answer my emails. I been a customer with them for a very long times, never had any issues. Now I don't know what to think.
Desired outcome: I would like my account accredited in the amount of the dispute, and I would like for my card to be unblocked.
Upon writing this complaint oh, they have now blocked my account and blocked me from calling customer service oh, it doesn't even recognize my card or my social they are holding my phone and they have locked me out
Checking account
I was using NetSpend as my direct deposit for my VA disability benefits, I also have been awarded back pay for a claim I've been waiting on for a long time, on 2/4/2022 my account just randomly becomes locked and I had to send my id and all types of proof of identity and they still would not unlock my account. They never gave me a reason why my account just got randomly locked, that's unlawful. I didnt ask for them to do that so how can they just lock my account and steal my money!
Desired outcome: I want my account unlocked so I can receive my VA back pay benefits.This is unacceptable by all means, So refund me my money that was on my account and give me access to my account.

Netspend customer service is racked up I can't believe that they holding my funds I submitted to them everything they needed to know about my account a d they resolved my account issue but still has not released my funds I need my car fixed and they has my money on lock. I need my funds they been holding almost a year thus is my money not there's to hold. I'm pisttt charges are on the way to netspend.

My netspend all access account has been locked for almost A year behind nextspend I have 2965.24 on my account. They sent me a email saying that my account issue has been resolved and thT I can retrieve my funds but they still will not let me access my money. This happened on last year I called and called they hangs up on me they yells at me and this is my money. I even contacted the president of netspend. I'm looking to file charges on netspend for theft because they truly is playing with my funds

Disputing charges made when someone stole my card.
My second stimulus check was deposited in my NetSpend account and then somebody stole my card I disputed the transactions and NetSpend said that I was not eligible for a credit. I discovered it was stolen when i went to do my taxes and discovered that I never know I had been given a second stimulus. Sent unsolicited MasterCard
I cannot cancel a prepaid Netspend Mastercard that was sent to me from Metabank. No human at Netspend will answer any of the phone numbers. I did not activate the card. When I called to cancel this card and ask to be removed from their mailing list, the automated prompt asks me to activate the card first (which involves giving the last four of my SS#). I attempted six different ways to get this canceled. I don't know if they have any of my personal information or not. I cannot figure out how to talk a human being.
Desired outcome: Cancel card and remove me from mailing list. They should not be mailing out unsolicited credit cards.

NetSpend closed my account for my protection due to "fraudulent activity" with a balance of around $9000! And refuse to give me my funds, This has beyond put me and my family in a financial and emotional hardship. NetSpend says they will only return the funds back to the original creditors and only when they have received and verified a letter of indemnity from them. It has been over eight months and I have yet to make any progress with this pathetic company. I have made countless calls to customer service, everytime I contact them they have no idea what I'm talking about and takes about 25 min before they finally realize what account I am talking about. I am constantly put on hold (20-45 minute) just to me hung up on. I need my money this company is keeping from me for "my protection". This is one of the worst things to ever happen to me and my family. Please help.

I received a call about my account being locked, I made the transaction, the account is locked, now I am waiting with threats that if I do not do as I am told, your muslim workers will send my money wherever they want, I sent in documents verifying my identity, I used my PIN, I gave all my pertinent information and still I have a card that is held hostage by your so called fraud department. I want answers before I file a complaint with the FTC as have many against you... I cannot get in ONLINE so please do not offer me lies about signing in securely... Why do I need to prove my identity for 6 hours?
I Verified every bit of info asked, why is my account locked with threats against my livelihood... Why would a company do that to individuals unless you are seeking to dissolve Americans of their own money in their accounts? Net Spend Visa Prepaid card
Hello. I have been a customer of prepaid Net spend with Bancorp bank for many years.
I am a senior citizen. I recently retired at age 62 on just my Social Security only. I am in between a permanent residence at this time. The other day I went to my Netspend account online for the first time and wanted to update my "mailing" address, so I put in my current PO Box number instead. Well I later learned my account was now blocked. Therefore, I called the number on the back of my Net spend card and was told I needed to email over a copy of my ID card and copy of Social Security card. I was not happy about this because I do not feel it is safe to send those over the internet (but I did send it over because I needed my account "unlocked".. I was in the process of applying for a new apartment and the apt mgnt needed to receive a security deposit). I then noted to Net spend to just keep my address as is and not change it to my temporary PO box after all" since it seemed to cause issues doing this, especially since I had not yet moved into a physical residence.
Well, I want to file a complaint because not only did they NOT unlock my account, they closed it and are not allowing me to open up another account. They stated they will mail me my available balance and send my monthly check that is automatically deposited each month back to the Govt. When I called to find out why they did this I was told because it is documented that there are multiple accounts opened, suspicious activity, suspected fraud and so on...
This is absolutely a big LIE.. I was never even contacted by them to ask me to explain anything on my account that they felt was questionable, there is nothing fraudulent going on with my account.
Any concerns they had could have easily been cleared up by a telephone call from them to me.
Tonight I see all these negative reviews online about other customers complaining about many of these same issues.
My major complaint is that I feel I could be possibly being scammed by Netspend. The employees all seem to be working overseas. They have a copy of my social security card and my ID card.
I am very upset how I am being treated when I have been a customer many years.
There are so many negative reviews on the web about Net spend.
It seems someone just decided to write false lies about my account and close it and disregard me permanently from being a long term customer.
They did not even call me about any concerns they may have had regarding any transactions or suspicious activities is very bad business.
Can you help me with this situation so it can get resolved? If so, please respond back. Or let me know who I can reach out to regarding my complaint. I will reach out to as many people who will listen.

so last night I made a couple of payments to my credit cards. it says scheduled payments made and I understand it may take a day or two to post however Netspend has been very inconsistent with that. in past, it has allowed payments to go right thru and post right away, but lately and a lot it takes 2-3 days, never posts so I have made another payment on the same accounts just for there to be made two payments now because it has really paid it. It's confusing I transferred money to my son's account today it says I've reached the max limit I didn't know was a limit! I called she said it's NOT blocked so she did it free for me say it will show up in 5 mins and um it's still not in his account! it is 4 hours later! No they didn't take my funds out of my account yet but I hope there won't be a lot of transactions at once processing like it did before it was horrible so I'm not doing anything before things post! However, I've been with Netspend for years I mean over 6 years, and really think it's time to move on but they need to do better with the posting stuff and online services

Visa debit
I purchased two cards for friends for Christmas at a Cumberland Farms store on 12/17/22. There was a large variety of cards and I did not understand the difference between a Gift Card and a Debit Card. Total purchase $ 430.90 on my Discover Card, statement attached.
One friend also thought it was a Gift Card and tried to use it and it was rejected. He then called the NetSpend and got very bad customer service. When the service representative asked for his Social Security Number, my friend hung up.
He brought the card back to me and I tried to initiate it. I also stopped at entering my SS#. I will not do that.
I have spoken to management at Cumberland Farms and while they have tried, they were unable to let me return the cards for a refund.
I am out over $ 400 because I will not reveal my social security number to a business I do not trust. I would like a FULL REFUND.
If this does not get resolved within the next 24 hours, I will file complaints will as many agencies as I can.

Deposits that was credited to account but never went in my card
They really don't have enough room for this prepaid account I am to outdone NetSpend prepaid service don't have overdraft protection an they really keep doing stuff when ever anything go in my prepaid or checking I'm upset I recently have filed with them charges that they took from my go fund me fundraiser I had going for my baby sister memorial. I'm trying so hard to retrieve my funds I no that a checking account say your overdraft fees but do they suppose to payments to you if the over draft is $100 an you get a payment if $160.00 do they suppose to take the whole $160 an if your direct deposit come the following month for $954.72 do they suppose to take $160.00 from your direct deposit after you only owed them $100 an $160 was credited back they was only suppose to deduct $100 the kept ball of it my account never refreshed an went down until my following direct deposit of $954.72 an they never put the remaining on my card an they took $160 again none of it never went back on my card but it was credited back an I really need to let you all no they are still doing all kinds of stuff like it's free money please help me get my funds back from prepaid account an for my allacess meta

re: account # [protected]. contacted netspend operator for my account number for tax purposes. operator gave me the number and verified it when I read it back to him. he unfortunately mistaked the last account number as a 3 instead of an 8. i gave my tax preparer (turbo tax)the number i received. irs received the number and sent my refund to the wrong account on february 9. this occurred on jan 31

This is the worst finance related company I’ve ever had to deal with. After $200 was stol n out of my account, netspend has been unable to do anything about it. Netspend has made false statements on my account and made every process way more difficult. When money was stolen from my account, netspend took no consideration. This happened a while back and still up to today I have not seen that $200 yet hat was stolen out of my account. This company does not have good secure banking/debit cards nor do they have an good or skilled or professional people working on the customers behalf. Netspend allows fraud activity on their accounts. I will never use these services ever again. Good thing I have navy federal. They actually have professional s working for them with great services and secure banking. I will be letting everyone I possibly can about netspends unprofessional insecure business. Both in person and on social media I will leave reviews everywhere I possibly can to give people a warning about netspend.

I was reading on here about NetSpend and the letter of indemnity thing. It has been almost a year in March that they closed my account due to fraudulent activity after a $750 deposit was made they took their fees out and I got to spend $200 of it $450 left in the account and they just closed the account due to fraudulent activity wanted me to do the letter of academic language I had to contact the school and tell them to do this letter of individity which day did not want to do it they don't have time for that they said the money was mine they don't want it and if it wasn't the full $750 b hey would not do this so I have been battling with them for months trying to get my 451 back you know and day transfer me to every other apartment I'm keeping on hold forever it's ridiculous I mean so much has happened in my life since then I'm not blaming them but a lot of negative has happened I've lost a lot of things that with them just letting me have my money it could have been avoided and it's almost been a year and I still can't get nothing done this letter of indemnity thing is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of at one time I would threw 2500 off my NetSpend card a couple years ago and went into a PNC Bank with just my driver's license and NetSpend card and that was proof enough to give me that money so why can't I just go into a another bank like that one which was a PNC and show my driver's license and get my money no they want me to jump through hoops and they told me one time when I talk to them months ago that it would be sent to the treasiry

I was credited money back from companies that FRAUDED me I filed with NetSpend all access an they sent letters saying they didn't see an error so I took it upon my self an called these people an chatted with these people online an they started crediting back an I did not receive a card from this prepaid company until September 8,2021 because one 2 companies charged me twice one of the rude representatives closed my card when she was asked not to. on September 5,2021 I was FRAUDED for $64 twice an on September 12,2021I was FRAUDED $49 3times an on September 13 I was FRAUDED $49;4 times an the dates for prime video was different dates an I was in overdraft by the 14-15 $160 an I never got to get any of the money credited back to me at all an they were putting it back on different dates an I stayed in overdraft until the next paydate then when I did receive my BENIFITS they took $$160 from that to I don't understand so could y'all b please help me get my money from unfair prepaid service fraudulent

Arbitrary security locks, rude customer service
Locked my account multiple times. Contacting customer service is the most frustrating experience I've ever had. Representatives will not listen to anything you say, and intentionally delay processing for their own amusement.
Having managed customer service call centers for many years, there is no reason for this treatment.
They require you to email sensitive identification information including social security cards, id's, and utility bills. It's likely they are just harvesting this information to sell. If you submit the documents expect them to be rejected multiple times while their unreachable "back office" documents team spams you with email every 10 mins.
If I didn't have to use this service for a government account, I would have thrown the card away months ago.

I totally agree with you. My story sounds similar to yours. Re: fraudulent activities, multiple accounts and them closing my account. I was a customer for years and never had any issues they complained about. Something is very suspicious with Netspends fraudulent dept. They also all work overseas so I feel strongly they are somehow commiting fraud by closing our accounts and possibly using our personal info. I contacted the main people in Austin to investigate as to why they are doing this to me but they are of no help. Beware of Net spend employees because no telling how many other faithful customers are being told the same thing. Something is so wrong here.
