Locked account / no answer from customer service.
I recently bought a prepaid card from Net spend some that I could pay a friend that I owed money to. After activation, I had no problem getting in my account, but as soon as I tried to send the money, I got locked out. I've tried emailing many of Netspend's emails and asking for help on forums with no luck. While, yes, the amount I had on the card is small, the fact is that it is MY money. I paid for the card, dealt with the incredibly long activation process and for what? To get locked out because they felt my account "wasn't safe" or something? They sent me ONE email with a code to confirm that it was indeed me using the account but I guess that wasn't enough because even after correctly entering the code, I still got locked out. This happened a little over two days ago and I've tried both calling and emailing and have received no response. On the bottom of the site, it says to email them securely from my account for fast help, but how the heck am I supposed to do that if I'm locked out?
I just want my money out so I can pay my friend, after that, I'm most certainly shutting the account down.

I have been calling not stop waited on hold for 4 hours trying to understand waiting time the automated system keeps talking about then it's like the phone is taken off the hook and set down to be ignored, my stimulus was added to my card and then my account gets locked and I can't reach nobody to help fix this issue this company has been [censored] since they started so many damn issues!

Account locked
My account has been locked for 24 hours and with attempts to call support multiple times and spent hours on hold just to be hung up on. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the past few months and the first time their solution was to cancel my card and send me out a new one which took over a week with zero access to funds. This is not a solution with the bank being online only and no access to funds for almost 2 weeks. And now I'm in the same situation while the world is in midst of a crisis. I've sent 2 emails and continue to call and call with no response after being on hold for hours at a time just to have the call ended. When I attempt to login to my account online it says to contact "customer service". Their support model is not ideal and in the past when you do end up talking to someone it's near impossible to understand them. Hire more people, answer emails. You are dealing with peoples financial livelihood.

I have 3 Netspend cards. Auto system helped me with card has 0 balance.
I need help with my netspend accountand cards that has my money on it. Not a zero balance card! I activated a new card. So that I could have my balance transfered, not out of reach, my account with money on it just dissappeared, into thin air. I have unauthorized, reoccurring, repeatitive charges from google text me, that never was stopped. I need my new card to be attached to my routing and account that has my money on it. I have to get my money transfered asap. I have to pay my mechanic. My car is in the repair shop. For several days I've been trying to call customer service, and all that I would get is an all day ordeal that would tell me they couldn't take my call and cut the call off. I have my own phone now, and I've been pleading for someone from netspend to call and help me.

general online banking account
My account was locked due to inactivity claimed to be over a year dormant (which isn't correct btw). I contacted their support phone and was automatically directed to an automated re-activation procedure after verifying my identity. Things looked like they were all finished when it said it would now direct me to a customer service agent. Then for the next hour and a half, I was on hold being told that wait times were going to be long (but not anything specific). I would routinely be reminded to use web services in lieu of a phone call but their online facility is useless for such a procedure. While on the phone, I emailed their support office but no response beyond an auto-reply. I contacted them on facebook and twitter with similar inactivity. I simply have no way to reach a human being to resolve this problem. I can't log into my account on my pc or phone, nor talk to anyone about what I can do about it. It feels like an intentional wall of resistance - like they really don't want to be reached or bothered with me... If it wasn't for the pressing issues behind why I needed to access this account now, i'd just toss it away and order a new one, but it is important to me to bet this fixed soon! Sadly, I have little hope of that happening now.

I'd like to see those records. I have no emails, and I've checked my spam folder too. I have no phone calls other than calls from numbers I don't recognize. None of these calls left a voicemail so I have to assume they were not legitimate contacts or they would have left a message. Do you know by what means contact with me was attempted?
They did the same to me and took all of my money. There is nothing in the Copy if the agreement that I still have that states there are any fees for not using the account or using my money. I intend to contact the Texas State Attorney to file a complaint since they are based in Austin. Maybe another attorney will file yet another class action.

They left me in the dark and then lie to me
I initially file a dispute with netspend on March 19, 2020. It was several unauthorized transactions done by Cricketwireless and I wanted dispute by netspend. Netspend customer service or netspend dispute department never verbally or through email asked me for written confirmation or additional information toward my dispute. They never said Mrs Duggan you have 10 days to send us written confirmation or additional information so we can temporarily credit $63 back into my account they purposely kept that information and just gave me a bunch false hope telling me over the phone to be patient and we will credit the money by 04/02/2020. Its not cool to miscommunication with a customer, it's not cool to say they that going to do something and nothing do it and leave me in the dark on alot of thing. If they would of verbally told me on the phone or through email that they needed a written confirmation don't you think I would of gave it to them... they never told me that... out of consideration they could sent me the document through email they have my email address... today is my first time even hearing from the dispute department...

Unauthorized transactions
They continue to practice the same deceitful ways over and over again. I filed a dispute on 3/5 and was told I would receive a credit or update as of 3/19. As of 3/19 they told me no I have to wait until 4/2. I called in and it automatically tells me the investigation has been completed but doesn't give me any further information. I received a $5 credit at 7:07 this morning. I couldn't even access my online account because my email was changed without my constant. I called the customer service for 3 days in a row and they kept trying to send me links to change password and updated it to different emails. Finally I spoke to someone who said I couldn't do it until the email was on my account for 24 hours. Sad the other representatives didn't know this information. My PIN number was also changed. I've been on hold trying to speak to someone regarding the status of my claim now for over an hour. It's really disappointing the way they lie and deceit their customers. I've already reached out to a lawyer because of this. The way things are handled versus what information is available and what's stated in their terms and conditions is completely different. They aren't in it to help any of the customers. I need this resolved now, I want my money back and I need all documentation regarding this dispute and no I don't think it's fair I need to wait another 7 to 10 business days as I need all this information to provide to the attorney I've reached out too.

They won't activate the card
My son is in Oklahoma and wanted to put money on a card instead of having cash on him. He tried to activate the card but could not. We are in Texas so I called and the rep said my son is 17 years old that is why he couldn't activate the card. This is unheard of. Long story short after me submitting my DL, SSC and proof of residence that they required me to do they still wouldn't because it didn't match my sons name. Well he's a minor. I advised we are in a state of emergency and my child needs his money to get back home to Texas. They don't care about that. They all barely speak English. We work for our money and need it for a reason. It should be illegal for them to hold people's money. How can they verify me putting cash on a card by requesting my personal information? It was cash and our personal information is not attached to cash. I will be seeking legal actions because this is an emergency and my son needs the money. This world is going through enough right now for them to be able to take advantage of people.

Didn't return my money from chargeback even though merchant didn't do his job
I filed a dispute and it was closed due to no error in 10 days. So I wrote to corporate that I paid a business to do a job and they didn't do it. They said they would do a chargeback. I sent them my info as well as other info he also scammed other clients out of money but they keep saying its not a billing error. I know that but why are they not asking this guy for evidence if he went to court because that is what I paid him for. He just took my money and didn't do the job. He a liar and scammer. So anyone can lie and say pay me and I will do a job but if not Netspend wont acknowledge this as fraud. This is a scam. He not selling products but still he is a business getting paid to do a service job and Netspend didn't fight. They will not reverse chargeback in this cases. I ask everyone to report Netspend to FTC.

So before we moved to Canada, my gf & I bought this horrible, scam of a prepaid card, to secure a little bit of money on it so that if we needed it someday in our new country (Canada & go figure)!
So we call to activate the card and they either actually hung up on us on purpose, or the *** actually lost reception.. but after they basically hung up on us in our first EVER phone call with them, we tried calling back less than 10 mins later BUT here comes the BS... they tell us that our account has been set up as limited-use only, so that basically means it acts as a goddamn gift card. Therefore it can only be used for in store purchases in the US! Were in Canada now and they won't let me get my money off the card no matter what. It's been over a month and everyday we phone them and they tell us the same Exact s*it "our higher department will reach out to you within 24hrs to help you by giving you other options to get your funds off the card"... everyday we call and hear that and never once got a call from anyone. Apparently our only option is a cheque mailed out but can't be mailed to Canada?
So they just screw people over that easily? They NEVER EVEN gave us the chance to confirm any of our identities! Not once did we asked for our documents to be sent in or anything for confirmation... were starting to honest think they scammed us from the start & I read a bunch of other ppl going through the same exact issues with this horrible credit card company. Stay away, if I went back to the states I'd go back to sue these thieves no joke they can't screw with ppl's lives like this man it's horrible when they basically laughing at us everyday when we would call in!

I am writing this along with contacting several other agencies. Ordered new cards for my account-cards were delivered on 1/31/20. Tax refund was deposited on 1/31/20. Card was activated on 2/1/20. Made $300.00 withdrawal with a balance of 1203.05. Checked online acct 2/2/20. Balance of zero. Showing a transfer on 2/1/20 from myself to myself? Called CS immediately. CS rep stated I called at 2:30ish on 2/1/20 to report card lost or stolen. I tried to explain card was on my person and the only thing I did was take out $300. CS rep just kept saying a new card was on way. WHAT?! I wanted to know how someone (not me) can call and A. call and cancel my card and then B. let a TRANSFER HAPPEN? I want to KNOW if the CS REP that took the call of lost or stolen card gave that person ANY OF MY account info to make it easier for this to happen. THEN I am told to make a report and send via email etc etc. I contacted Netspend 2 or 3 times thru the "secure" inbox on my account online on 2/2/20 in the evening. Then all of a sudden my account is now LOCKED! I have a STATE RETURN that is suppose to go to this account. I WANT THAT TO BE RETURNED TO THE STATE so they can send me it by check. I want my 1205 dollars RETURNED immediately! This is BEYOND frustrating. THE CR rep can HARDLY speak any english, HAD NO IDEA WHY I didnt care or want a new card. WOULD NOT help with answereing anything about the transfer. Just kept saying to make a report and the matter could take 10 to 90 days? I contacted my police department, The FDC, NETSPEND and I will be contacting VISA, DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY, CORPORATE, Texas Police Dept. and whomever else I can think of! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. i haven't used my account or card in minute because i haven't had the funds to and i go to use it today and it says its locked. i don't understand. I think before locking someone's account the company should at least attempt to contact the customer first to see what's really going on. i've tried emailing about it since i can't quite call in about it and still i've gotten no response. i'd really like to use my account again. thanks

prepaid debit card
One thing I won't tolerate is someone messing with my money! I am damn near 60 yrs old and disabled and on a fixed income. January 18th I purchased and activated a Netspend debit card to the tune of 500.00. On January 19th the card is locked. I answered all the verification questions when registering it. I am traveling presently and 800 miles from my destination. That money was to assist in my having safe travels. Upon speaking with the fraud department I'm given the same rig-a-marole a million other people are... DL, SS Card, utility bill etc. This is utter [censored]! Like I would have those items in the glove box of the car. Wth do they think they are! I have filed a complaint with the BBB, and the FTC is next! Especially after I see where the FTC has recently completed taking their [censored] over the coals for doing this very thing! Obviously they've not learned a lesson and I will not stop until justice is served! My ability to get home has been severely compromised by this stunt which in turn compromises my safety.
