So my sister and I bought a new card today, I loaded with 500$, but I'm locked out of my account foursome reason and it won't let me activate the card.So I just spent 500$ for nothing! I don't understand why my account was locked, but now my account is frozen and I can't reach any of my money. My sister is off for a trip tomorrow morning and really needs this card, what the actually ****? How is she supposed to get to the 500$ if my account is frozen. And its not like I have another 500$ up my sleeve to buy another card.

I have been a customer with Netspend for over 10 years. My stolen from my account and it put me in a negative status. It actually went well over the amount allowed to overdraft. To be exact it was 143.53 over the withdrawal limit. I called netspend immediately and the problem was corrected and all monies were returned back to my account. I Thought it was strange that I can overdraft that much even while in suspension because of the fraudulent charges. but a couple of days later the same fraudulent charge was back on for $136.80 which again put me in a negative balance. I don't have overdraft on my account because it was suspended due to the fraudulent charges. this why I don't understand why or how someone was able to take money from my acct and put it in a negative status. I again immediately called Netspend and alerted them that the same thing that happened a couple of days ago has happened again. I was told that I would need to file a Dispute claim. The rep said he could do it for me. So that's what we did. I also was told to send an email immediately so that I can receive a provisional credit. The rep asked if I could send the email while on the phone with him. The rep told if I could send the email with him on the phone he can put it as Urgent/priority. So I did it hoping that it would expedite my process. Only to find out when I called the next morning to check my status that there is no way of expediting any dispute matters. I was also told that I needed to anywhere from 2 to 10 business days. Two days later I received a call from a Netspend Rep stating that they needed to block my card and send me a new one. I let the rep know that I would be receiving my paycheck direct deposit in two days. The rep told me not to worry about it because I can still transfer money to another Netspend Card holder even if my card is blocked. I asked her if I could do it online or would a live rep have to do it for me? She stated that I can do it myself because my account is still active only the card is blocked. I asked her several times just to make and she said yes you can do it yourself. So of course when my direct deposit hit I tried to transfer the funds but it wouldn't allow me because the card was blocked/marked as stolen. I tried calling Netspend and of course they were closed only open 8 am to 8 PM central time. So I had to wait until the next morning and call them at 9 Am because that's the time they open for me. This is the worst experience I have ever had with Netspend. Customer Service seems as if they all tell you different things as if they don't know their jobs. Some don't understand what your question may be due to a language barrier. Also Netspend is an Internet Bank you should at least have 24 hour customer service. Had you had 24 hour customer service my needs would have been accommodated. There is no bank that I could physically walk into to get the proper assistance this is why 24 hour customer service is needed. I am currently looking to see if this is a legal issue and Netpsend can be held accountable for their actions. I am without my funds for about a week now and I am still waiting on my new card which was told to me that they would overnight it and wave the fees since this is an ongoing issue. Nothing yet Im still waiting. Netspend you're company is horrible.

unauthorized charges
i called net spend 3 times this week. the first time i was told my account would be credited with my money within 10 business days. the clerk said he had good news for me and told me that my claim had been approved, and that i just had to wait until the committee sent me my letter.
i called back the following day about the provisional credit, only to be told that my case had not been resolved and that they were sorry for giving me bad information!
they were looking at my account the entire time, how could you make a mistake that bad, causing me to spend money i didn't have because i was told it would be handled. they don't take care of their customers and the call center just lies to you the entire. time. my name is timothy gilbert and i will be sewing this company for lost wages if i do not get my account credited within the time frame.

netspend account closed for no reason
A few years ago I used Netspend all the time for my SSI benefits, I received my direct deposit as normal on the date it was given paid all of my bills and sat down to watch tv, a few hours later I received a text message saying my account was locked for " suspicious activity". I called customer service they asked me to tell them my last transactions I told them correctly and then they proceeded to tell me my account was being closed and would never be able to have Netspend again! This happened back in 2016 and I still haven't been told why or what the " suspicious activity" was? I've tried to get a pay pal card and also my job issues a pay card and that card is threw Netspend so I'm basically screwed! I would love some answers on why I am blocked from using you guys?

So still talking about Indiana Hoosier lottery money that when speaking to some of the people supposed to work at Netspend. One Minute they tell me they have the money then someone else tells me they sent the money from the savings accounts to me in a check on 02 24 2013.
I have never received it so I had for the check they sent them if they can check on me and they gave me every time I call the 866-387-7363 they put me on hold me up four times the phone calls last 45 minutes and I still have not gotten.

They tell me to get a letter from the whole gelato way to show there was the deposit but if I transfer half the money from the checking account and open a savings account and you are telling me you see the same that is proof right there that I get the check
this is abuse and this company and how they are handling money I deposit into the account and they lie and say your money and secure and covered by the FICA but where is my secure it now. Your company has over 3854.13 dollars of my and with half of that being in a savings and adding on interest. It is much more then that so why want your company give me my money I pray that God will put the right people in the right place to do the right thing and make these people stop playing with my money and give me my money in Jesus name a man .

So on 03/18/18 A Caucasian men call me at 8:30 pm on a Sunday night telling me he was from the Netspend comapny trying to handle the complaint. I told him this is a Sunday night he says they work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
So he ask me to tell him a little about it, so I did then he tells me that he has a guy that will give me the check and if I could speak with him, so he tell me he will put me on hold. And he got the guy I was not on hold at all. I listen to them talk about me calling me that crazy chick about the lottery money. and how I probably got the money and spend it.
Then he comes online I act like I did not hear a word they said, then he started to ask me questions and then he tells me that the money was deposited it to another women account and said her name was Vickortia Lopze and ask me was I sure I am not her and then saying, I wrote on my account how I watch these movies and listen to this money and eat this kind of food . And how my favor color is this I told him I was Africa Amercian Women.
So I got tried of them talking crazy to me so I told him bless you and he said bless you why are you saying that to me, Is this what you people do are you trying to put a curse on me, then he says bless you back to me and I said thank you.
Then another men comes on the line this is three different men, and he says he does not think my name is Vickortia and how I am trying to scan and How I probably got the money and spend it and now trying to get more.
So I said to him well why would I go to the F.B.I.HEADQUARTERS. and show them my I.D. and tell them about this company, he got upset and says why did you go to the F.B.I. I told him because I am not lying and this is money and Netspend is supposed to be a bank and this is fraud and a federal offense for them not to give me my money.
Then I was tried of them so I told them that this conservation was being recorded and hung and I have the recording of all the evilness that where done to me by these three me.
All this to get money that is legally my. lord help me in the name of jesus.
I have watched my son over the past 7+ days try to get his card unlocked so that he could pay his bills and buy gas as usual. He provided Net Spend with all the correct info and then some. but to no avail his card still locked. I have a net spend card also that I just opened a couple of weeks ago so glad I did not and have not used mine. I will be cancelling my card. EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will be calling the BBB and other Federal services reporting them. Obviously this is a scam online bank. DO NOT USE NET SPEND!

I purchased 4 different prepaid cards in another state, because large amount per card every time I card or try to access my card I have go through or problem with the customer service they give me the run around about my funds that I can't withdraw from. I also send in information to resolve any issues and they still want give me my funds like they gave me access to my others cards.

Well on 09/18/2007 I receive a text message to my boost mobile number at [protected] at 12: 45 am from Netspend prepaid card alert, Watch let me know that a deposit of 3854.13 was deposited into my card ending in 1010. And it was from the Indiana Hoosier lottery and it had between about 18-22 numbers behind it I believe it to be the account number. So I immediately got online and went to me account to check it, and yes the money was there. So I decide to save some of the money so I open up a saving account right then and transfer half the money to the savings account. Then I check both of the account to make sure it was correct.
So because I did not need the money at that time I though I could just leave it in there and come back for it. So 06/2009 to 2013 I loss my job and complete income. So I started trying to get that money, here it is 03/12/2018 I am still trying to get the money from my Netspend prepaid card Accounts.
So now I am very much in need of all my money for I am 56 years old, living in my 95 year old mother how I am being paid part time at 11.00 a hour and also caring for my Veteran Twice brother who has P.T.S.D. And am not being paid to care for him. I need my money and I though I was doing everything right. I company stayed that you can have money deposited from anywhere and that having a savings account was like having a real bank account. but yet I have not be able to get any of my money why. it is my money I need my money can anyone help me please please please. thank you and I pray that I will get all money that is my in Jesus name amen.

Why does Netspend have the right to hold a payment received by the government for 180 days.. When it only takes 72 hours to clear in any other Bank?

Why are they continued to be allowed to practice banking in America by the government when they don't trust government checks? Why do they advertise unlimited account amount, and later only when a amount exceeds their hearsay limited (hence never appealed it in the contract agreement until after the amount was sent therefore breached our contract ) amount added after the fact.. Can a police officer come into your home take your wallet and say I'm going to keep this money until you prove to me how you received it without a warrant, no they cannot.
What gives netspend the right insinuate you are being fraudulent without proof? Who gives netspend the right to investigate a court ordered payment by a Judge? No one they are the one's who need to be investigated and shut down from practicing banking institution, they are a fraudulent company extorting America by demanding personal information while holding your money hostage making you homeless, or late on utility bills or any other examples that you need your money for.. They just rejected my check without reason or evidence of a crime.. In return causing my payer to be in contempt of a court order how do you like them apples.. I am fully aware they have a right to report any certain amount the government deems them to.. That's okay, but without a warrant or permission by the government they have no right to keep your money over the 72 hour time limit for a check to clear.. I know darn well the government didn't send me a check and in the same breath demand Netspend to hold it for 180 days to prove to them why the government owed me the money.. The government is well aware of that matter.. Will be talking to my lawyer and we will get to the bottom of this one way or another, although I told Netspend to reject the payment and send it back I'm not finished with the breeches they allocated on me.. Or my personal information they demanded on me that allowed them to the extortion they tried to get away with.. It's none of Netspends business why a court ordered me that money but it is very suspicious of why they needed it, that isn't public information nor should it be taken lightly.. They have done this to me previously in September of 2017, on a refund from Amazon, I didn't receive the refund until December because of their need to over investigate your personal information, violation of the act of privacy without a warrant or a good reason of suspicions, even a police officer doesn't have that right. Netspend approved my identity and granted me full access to my online account and prepaid debit card. I decided to go ahead and load $300 onto the card from my federal refund check. This was JUST yesterday. Now today (3/7/2018) I entered a convenience store to fill up my car. My card was declined. Attempting to access my account online I was prompted to contact customer service who stated my account was locked due to them revoking my identity. They are stating the 1099 form address does not match the one on file when IT DOES. I am now stranded at a gas station with my six month old god child with no gas and praying that no danger is done to us while we are helpless in this situation. Customer service stated that corporate was closed and could not refund me via money gram until corporate contacted me. He refused to transfer me to anyone in corporate. (Den employee ID:370142) showed no remorse in my situation whatsoever. And was stern on my only option was to wait until someone from corporate contacted me and that it could take up to a minimum of TWO DAYS!

I got my tax refund no problem I have been using my card no problem I have not gotten any fraudulent activity messages or anything I have not made any huge purchases now with half of my money left on the card it is locked for some reason and I cannot contact customer service because it is after hours I need my money like everyone else I do not want to have to wait a month because if that's the case I'll close the account there is no need to lock my account someone from NetSpend please help I am not rude I am not angry but I am very disappointed the service has been good to me for at least 3 years

I lost my debit card. So I reported it lost bough another card asked them to transfer my money to the new card and there giving me the run around for my money. THAT I WORKED HARD FOR.. I got an eviction notice waiting on them to give me my money... I have not been hable to pay my bills everything that has to do with this company is crap. They have the worst customer service ever... I've been using netspend for a few years and have honestly not had any issues until now. This is the second year i've had my refund deposited on to my card. Unfortunately last year I had to report my card stolen and there was a few suspicious transactions. They resolved it for me and I got a new card. Well of course with my refund this year i've had to catch up on a lot of bills, my family is also moving. We've had to start over. Buy almost everything new. So i've had a few large purchases. Well my card embarrassingly got declined in a bush store last night. After calling customer service I was told my account was locked because I reported suspicious activity a year ago! Are you kidding me?! The [censor] customer service rep informed me it will unlock after 6 business hours?! It's been almost 24 hours and I still can't spend my money. My family can't even eat. We use uber to get around and now I can't even go anywhere. How can I not even use my own money to feed my family? I called customer service and they said to call back monday and I explained no, I need my money today! So I asked for a manager and have been on hold for 40min. Still no manager. The email I use for my netspend account is [protected]@gmail.com. I need this feature taken off immediately and they are about to lose a very loyal customer. Stop locking peoples cards!

02/21/2018 found out I could activate my card after all my taxes were being deposited . No one can seem to give me any reason why . Never asked me to submit anything to prove I am the person on this card . People who work here are rude not helpful at all . This is crazy.. You would think that they could at least explain but they had know clue . Also there know one above the Representative that you can talk to .. I recently applied for a netspend card to receive my federal tax refund. I thought it would be very convenient plus I hear very good things about this company. Well.. I have a direct deposit for tomorrow and my account is being locked for no reason. No identity verification questions or anything. I emailed my complaint to this company and nothing. I recently got a message from netspend saying that my direct deposit went through. I try to login to my account online, and says "account is locked". How am I suppose to transfer that money into my bank account? I really need that money in my bank account. fraudulent transactions
Before joining pay pal you should know that pay pal's prepaid master card is not theirs they're backed by a company called netspend. All the years i've had pay pal for my business I never knew they were backed by them. Back in december 2017 someone use my card information for some services at a cell phone company I guess they did this online or over the phone but when I found out the transaction was to transactions 1 for 905 and some change of one of our 530 something dollars for a total of $1443.73. I filed a dispute with paypal. They told me they were going to investigate this they block my card sent me a new card in the meantime they were giving me a provisional credit for one of the transactions it took longer than what they said up to 10 business days it took almost a month then you tell me that they are closing my dispute because whomever use my information has to be a known associate of mine that's ridiculous they don't ask me for my proof of my police report documents for anything that I could provide on my behalf I don't even have the same phone company that these people are using I wouldn't care if the person had my exact name or was my family i'm pressing charges I did not authorize any charge and I don't think it's ok that I cannot appeal this decision they tell me it's nothing that I can do about it so now my pay pal account is in the negative and if it's negative for more than 60 days are closing it and I can't use any more in this is my business this is ridiculous I can't file an appeal what type investigation is this because people know people that their authorizing this things that does not sound accurate to me I don't even know what they're talking about they tell me they use some database to find out something was about public records if they can use public records to find out any information people who steal people's affirmation can do the same exact thing. The point is I didnt make a transaction I did not authorize transactions and I don't know how people fish on the web or whatever but I work too hard for ppl or psypal to be steaking from me I did not authorize anything for people to steal who would pay pal seemed like they're in a business of allowing people to steal from their customers this is pissing me off and I cant appeal this decision you tell me that's nothing I can do what is the purpose of having police reports and so forth if they're not going even utilize it. But then pay pal email me some doctored of statements and papers sent that these are the documents or receipts for whatever it is things were whited out everything was jumbled together you cant even make out anything on it but somebody copied and pasted their name on my address I can't see any information on it even fighting with the cell phone company. Yesterday I was going to make a purchase to so I went to check my account balance, and it said my account was locked, there seems to be no reason for this. I tried contacting Netspend customer service via phone, and they asked me to enter my Netspend card number before I could state my case, so I did multiple times, and they said it was an invalid card and hung up each time. I don't know what to do, there's no way for me to contact them.
I just want my account available to me again since it's how I pay for everything.

I activated a debit card in it was connected to my direct deposit with a card that I all ready have for direct deposit ido not want and need to card for that she cancel the card ending in 6957 that the card I all way have had but she did this because I had $5 on the card anding in 5645 should still have this card in the $5 should still be on the card anding in 5645 ther was no lost card they screwed my card up and want somethin did about it

withholding my money
At 4:04pm on 1/17/18, I called Netspend because my account said it was locked when I tried to log in online. I was told by the Netspend associate I was speaking with that the system deemed "fraudulent activity" so the card had been blocked. I had a balance of $1050 and kept asking how am I going to get my money? I was told a replacement card would be sent in 1-2 days. I told him this was unacceptable, I needed my money now to go pay bills.
During the course of this phone call, I received a text message at 4:14pm that Netspend Card 9362 has been reported lost. I told him I never reported this card lost. I immediately received another text message stating that the block has been removed. This was followed by a third text message (all at 4:14pm) that Netspend Card 9362 had been reported stolen. I told him I never reported it stolen. In the course of a few minutes my card went from lost, to the block was removed, to the card was stolen. I was on the phone with the associated the whole time and verified multiple times the card was in my possession.
I was placed on hold a few different times while the associate supposedly talked to his supervisor. Finally around 4:25pm I was told I was being transferred to a supervisor, however, after being on hold for NO LESS THAN 30 MINUTES, I finally hung up. The total time of that call was 50 minutes and absolutely nothing was resolved.
At 5:03pm I made a second call to Netspend, still trying to find out if I could purchase a temproary Netspend card to access my money. The associate I was speaking told me that I could go to any bank and give them my account number and routing number w my ID and withdraw my money as a cash advance. I explained it was after 5pm so bank lobbies were closed. The associate suggested I just go to multiple places to try and find one that would give me the money. He then told me I could wait because my new card would arrive in 1-2 days. UNACCEPTABLE. I pay multiple fees to this company so that MY money is available when I need it.
I asked to speak to a supervisor. He told me there were no supervisors available but I could speak to one of his peers. I told him I wanted to speak with someone who could help me. He told me ok but it would be a 30-40 minute hold because "they are in a meeting." Unacceptable.
When I asked (AGAIN) about purchasing a temporary Netspend card he then informed me that I could go to a check cashing place that worked w Netspend and get a card issued through them, then call to link it to my account so I could withdraw my money.
At approximately 5:50pm I arrived at the Check N Go on NW 23rd in OKC. I explained to the associate the situation with my Netspend card. The lady was on the phone w Netspend support when I received a text message on my phone saying that at 5:57pm Netspend Card 5**0 has been reported stolen. I do not have a card ending 5**0. Then at 5:59pm I received a text message saying a transfer of $1000 was made to a Charissa E. I ABSOLUTELY DID NOT transfer any money from my Netspend account. The Check N GO associate, Joyce, told the representative she was on the phone with from Netspend what had happened. At that point she gave the phone to me to further discuss what was going on.
Just to recap...While on the phone w the first guy I received a text message at 4:14pm that Netspend Card 9362 has been reported lost. I never reported this card lost. I immediately received another text message that the block has been removed. This was followed by yet a third text message (all at 4:14pm) that Netspend Card 9362 had been reported stolen (I never reported it stolen). This card was cancelled without consulting me at all. Then at 5:57pm, while I was at the Check N GO trying to get a temporary card, I received a message that Card 5410 had been reported stolen (don't have a card 5410) followed by a text at 5:59pm that a $1000 funds transfer had been made. Again, I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE FUNDS TRANSFER AND DID NOT INITIATE ANY OF THE REPORTS THAT MY CARD WAS LOST OR STOLEN.
I spoke with Alex at Netspend and she filed a dispute. I am extremely upset that I have to wait 10 days to hear whether or not I get my $1000 back from a transfer I DID NOT initiate! It is clear that something was going on with my account. I feel like my card was deactivated on purpose so my account could be hacked. Had I been able to resume using my card and able to withdraw my money none of this would have happened.
Alex informed me that if I wrote up an email and sent it to this dispute department my funds would be made available while the case is being investigated. I am requesting the $1000 be made available before the end of business tomorrow (1-18-18) while Netspend investigates how their negligence made it possible for my account to be manipulated and my funds drained. Update: The dispute process I believe is a huge front to make it nearly impossible to get the money back.
On 1/19/18 at 1159 I received a text that the $1000 was transferred back to my account. In attempt to not make this post any longer I will say I have been told my account was cancelled and my social security number taken out of the system. I received the replacement card and attempted to activate to see what would happen. Well magically I was in the system again. I can text BAL to 22622 and see that my money is sitting there. HOWEVER NETSPEND WILL NOT ACTIVIATE THE NEW CARD AND THEY REFUSE TO UNBLOCK MY ACCOUNT. SOMEONE FROM THIS HORRIBLE PLACE NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT!
I truly can not believe this is happening. Netspend is 1000% withholding my money . It is pure theft at the highest level. It is unbelivable.
1/22/18 1825 Still haven’t heard anything from your company. I called customer service again trying to get them to transfer me to someone who can actually do something to help but unfortunately I don’t think that is anything that exists in this company...help. So now we are back to the story that my account has been closed and there is nothing he can do. Then he told me they sent me a refund check. Then he said it actually hasn’t been mailed yet. Then he said they processed the check on Friday but I have not requested to have it sent. WHAT?!?! Are you freaking kidding me?!?! He said I’ve never verified my address. Is this for real? YOU HAVE TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS EVERY TIME YOU CALL THIS INCOMPETENT PLACE! Is this a joke!
And by the way, so crazy that my account is closed bu yet I can still text BAL to 22622 and it immediately texts back my balance WHICH THIS THIEVING COMPANY WILL NOT RELEASE TO ME! Closed huh? Get your stories straight and for the love of God GIVE ME MY MONEY!

Incidentally do you know when you call the corporate number it does not give you the option to access one single person unless you have an extension number.
