My 15 year old son, without his parents knowledge, went into a CircleK convenience store to put $200 he saved throughout the summer, on a prepaid visa card, to order BMX parts. Well, he chose a Netspend card. But when he called the number on the card to activate it, he was told to contact customer service because there's a problem. So, my son had to tell me what he had done, because naturally, at 15, he didn't know what to do. I had to call this number, and they information me that my child cannot possess a card because he's a minor. In order for the money to be released, I would have to submit my son's birthday certificate and ss card, and same documents for myself. Plus my drivers license, medical documents for proof of address, and STILL WILL NOT APPROVE ME! But they allowed the sale of the card to a minor, and allow money to be taken from minors, without proof of ID. How the he'll do they get away with this? I would have NEVER sent documents of our personal information online! It's been a month now, and I'm losing my mind at this point.

I have made several attempts to get my direct deposit statement information for business reason, I was told it would take 24/48 to be received by email, and I still have not received it. I have been with Netspend to long to go through this type of service . I can't access this info online because I have switched over to the Flars account, and you are only granted one month statement. When I tried to access the old cars information, I was told it is not correct, call in and speak with a foreigner that repeats everything you say to them. I ask to speak with a supervisor and was kept on hold forever. I'm just sick of this card at this point

I referred my son to netspend when enrolling in college. I just received his card today and tried to activate it and put money on it for his birthday, which is tomorrow. I put in all the information asked and when customer service answered I was talking to them and they hung up on me, twice. I have 2 open accounts with netspend and I'm seriously thinking about closing them and going somewhere else. I do understand the privacy process of other peoples accounts, however, if there was a problem with me trying to activate a card for my son, they should have had the courtesy to inform me. They didn't have a problem with me ordering him a card. I understand that this could be an isolated incident and should be reported. Thank You.

On Aug. 31, 2017 at 3pm. I waited on the line for 1 hour 50 minutes. I have been a long standing NetSpend customer. I find this wait time extremely unacceptable. The representative offered no help and dismissed my issue completely as if she did not want to hear it. Shocked by the treatment from the representative I requested a supervisor. Apparently your customers are of little value to you since I was put off by the supervisor as well. I am attempting to deal with my complaint in a private manner by reaching out to you directly. I want to continue my business with your company although I find it very difficult when a minor incident has now escalated from lack of understanding. I believe the customer service are the ones who represent the attitude of the company as they are the direct line of communication. As a resolution, I believe employees should receive additional training to prevent this. I would also like to request a refund for the fraudulent transaction. I am not sure how I overlooked this and I think I need a new card issued to this account to prevent further damage.

I was offered a NetSpend master card as a $1000 sweepstake winner. the card came today and I activated it and there is no money on it. why would I go through all the hassle of winning a $1000 gift card just to not have the money on it. there was no referral code for me to enter just get the card and activate it. I did that already. so where is the prize money?

I got a Netspend card last year 2016 and it has been nothing but fraud on behalf Netspend no one else. First off I have two law degrees, therefore, I know law and know what Netspend is or what you are up too. When I got the card it was for my email account, Protonmail based in Switzerland, so I authorized it for five dollars and since I only have one email account it just makes sense that you would not block it again, primarily since I explained that this charge was a reoccurring monthly fee or I'd be using this again, however, you blocked it again. So, being out of the country working for the international criminal court or ICC one is actually prevented from dialing outside the country so on speaker phone but through my lawfirm all I got was idiots there, putting me on hold then transferring me around, and when I finally did get this guy he said he needed to verify my identity... OK. But then he started asking me if I had ever lived here or there... and I said no no no etc, then he asked me if I knew this person or this person etc... I said no no, and finally I said listen pal, I never give those details out and it sounds like your asking me who I know from facebook, and security questions are supposed to be questions and answers prior to one setting up an account, not after the fact. So this [censor] then replied I'd have to call back in 24 hours because my verification failed. I said wait, the five dollars on my email account was used before then you blocked it again only so you could dupe me into intelligence gather questions, which I know is unlawful. Therefore upon my return, I am filing a lawsuit against Netspend for fraud as well as some other unlawful violations. No one should entertain this because, as I said to the rep there at Netspend, how do I know this conversation is secure? I have used netspend as a secondary means for years and never had an issue. I have 2 official credit union account but like to put direct part of my direct deposit on my netspend card to receive it faster than my banks.
Let's go back a while ago. My card seemed to be damaged and not swiping properly at registers or able to use in ATM but if I tried about 4-5 times, I could finally get it to work. So around 3 weeks ago, I go online to order a new card only to get an error message so i had to call the lack luster customer service. The representative said she was sending the new card. Fast forward a week ago, I move out of state and now the card won't scan or swipe at all. I was checking for the card and nothing. I finally call the lack luster customer service again only to find out 1st rep never sent a card! The second rep put another order it and sai "so sorry" as that's all they ever say and we will send out expedited. She put me on hold to come back and said oh we can't expedite sonwill take 7-10 business days.. so let me get this straight, your rep lied, I waited 3 weeks for nothing and now you are telling me that you can't expedite a card with MY money on it.. she then told me I had to run around in circles to a store to get a temporary card and they would transfer my money from my account to the temporary card until the new one came. I purchased the temporary card yesterday 08/24/17. I used it a few times in the day and by evening it was getting declined and would not work in atm. I spent a lunch break again speaking to a rep and in hold only for her to tell me a hold/block was put in the card and that I needed to send a copy of my receipt from rite aid to [protected]@netspend.com and that as soon as they get the receipt, they can release the block. I sent the receipt from my personal email as well as my work at 3:43 eastern time. I get off of work and try to use my card only to find it hasn't been removed. I called customer service AGAIN, waited on hold 23 minutes for a supervisor only to tell me to call back tomorrow because that department closes at a certain time! But wait again, another rep LiED and told me as soon as I sent, it would be fixed immediately but the supervisor wanted to reference their reply email about 6 hours. So, the reps are trained to lie, I can't use MY own money and the supervisor had the nerve to tell me to call back in the morning when the department is open! Why the HELL do I need to keep calling when I have had to keep calling many times. I have a busy life and not time to spend with netspend. The supervisor wasn't any help, just says sorry like the reps do like robots, the reps lie and I want my money now! I don't want to hear another damn sorry and don't want to call again and deal with your horrible service! Just tell the truth and fix it!

I made an account the other day. Today I tried logging in and it said my account was locked was is this? I have had cards sent to me but never used. But I ordered one for my direct deposit and this is what happens. I haven't even got my card yet either. Can someone please let me know what to do so I can get money? On 7/31/17 There was an incorrect transaction made on my account. I called NetSpend to dispute the charges, I was told if I disputed them my card would automatically be cancelled. I didn't want my card cancelled and asked if there were other options. I was told to discuss the matter with the merchant and try to resolve it that way. I contacted the merchant explained the situation and made a new, correct transaction. Problem resolved, or so I thought. At 6:30 AM on 8/2/17 I received a text alert stating that my account was locked and my card was blocked. I called NetSpend and they said in order to access to your money go to a local ACE check cashing store purchase an ACE card and then call back in to have NetSpend activate the card (apparently ACE and NetSpend are one in the same). I go to ACE and they tell me that the card can't be purchased or activated because of my last name being hyphenated. Then I call NetSpend back and they tell me to just wait for the new card to arrive (that will take 7-10 business days). I explained that unless they were going to cover my expenses I needed access to my money today. I was then told to find a WalMart...purchase a new card, load money onto it and call NetSpend back and "maybe" they could get the card on. As of yet I've not gotten my money or even access to it. I've been on the phone customer service since 8:00 AM and it is now 1:08PM and I am on hold again for the 12th time. I've been hung up on a total of 9 times and transferred mores times than I can count. I personally hold Lisa Henken (V.P. of Customer Service) responsible as I feel it is her responsibility to ensure her team is knowledgeable, actually provides customer service and has the proper processss in place. It is clear that Lisa and her team lack the professional experience and the desire to provide good customer service. I ashamed of myself for believing that NetSpend is a reputable company. To date my money is still not on the new card and I was just advised that if and when it is transferred I will only get a portion of it and hen will have to request the remainder be transferred to the new account. 1:28 pm still on hold

Still waiting for refund of 39.98 and 3 overdraft fees that occurred because of this charge. have called 3 times to receive updates, and told to call back, call back, . As of today 7-27-17 nothing has been resolved, and I was told to call back.

I had an issue with a unauthorised payment and had did a dispute. My SSI came in today. Attempting to gain access to my funds, I have been on hold off and on for better than 90 minutes. For something that should take no longer than five minutes.
Twice now I have asked for supervisors only to be put right back on hold. This is precisely why I ditest outsourcing of American jobs.

I always get my direct deposit pisted at 10:38 sunday evening, i noticed it was not there last night or this morning, i spike with my payroll dept, whom confirmed it was sent, called netspend saying they did not receive it, well where is it? Keep repeating same response it will post when they receive it! Well they did receive it now what? My son has epilepsy and i need to get his medication, have no money, husband is out of work, i dont know what to do now, netspend no help!😠😠

Same problem here. Today is the 1st of the month. Need the direct deposit for RENT. EVERY OTHER WEEK EXCEPT THIS WEEK, the deposit goes through by 6AM on Tuesdays. Here I am it is almost 9AM, still no deposit. Seriously considering ditching this unreliable service.

let me start off by saying that I always buy throwaway cards because i feel more comfortable doing it that way, well let's skip to the point. I got the card and i tried hooking it up to uber & it kept declining it so i called customer service & they couldn't even speak fluent english! don't get me wrong i understand that some have an accent but the lady i spoke to shouldn't be an operator, i couldn't even understand what she was saying. & THEN SHE ASKS FOR MY SSN, that's the whole thing i'm trying to avoid when getting these cards! ok well i make it clear to her that i'm not willing to give her my ssn so she's okay with it & limits what i can & cant do with the card. With the few things that i understood, she said i could only use this card for online purchases. whatever, i go home and look for stuff to buy online & once i put in my card info it just declines it, on several websites too! so annoying, probably worst cards to get? they absolutely suck. so frustrating, i put in 160 dollars that i still have no idea if i'll be able to use. really bummed out about this. Beware! Don't ever give the NetSpend Visa Prepaid Gift Card as a gift for someone. This is such a scam! My kids were given 3 cards as gifts from a holiday or birthday present. As soon as you activate them you have 3 months to use them if not you are charged a fee each day. If you don't activate them you are charged a fee each day and they expire. So so so sad for my kids who were trying to save up for a vacation! NEVER EVER will I use this company to purchase someone else a gift. Keep in mind my cards say they expire in 2020!

Brian. what a joke this company is. bought 2 new cards. day later they froze both. for no reason. I had already used it on the web for about 30 bucks. want proof of address id and ssi. account suddenly closed after activation/ denied access to federal student aid funds
I was sent a netspend card in august 2016 which I activated to have my student loan disbursement sent to. I registered for online access on 10/18/2017 and I was due to start classes at Lone Star College on 10/24/2017. My disbursement was sent to my card on 10/25/2016. I received an email from netspend advising that I my deposit was pending and that the account was blocked because they needed additional info to make the funds available. I contacted them and they asked my ssn dob address - which i gave them the address where the card was sent however i advised that I had just moved to that address and asked if they wanted my previous address and the rep said no but then they advised that I did not pass verification due to the address. They requested for me to send in documents to verify my identity. I sent in the requested information copy of id, ssn card, bill in my name and I also sent in my hhsc award letter confirming address. They accepted the proof of address and my social security card however they denied my id due to it being a temporary permit tho it was valid and not expired . I sent a copy of my passport and they activated the account where i was able to use the account the night of 10/26/2017. I used the account to pay for some school items and the next morning when i tried to order my books my card was declined. I contacted netspend and they advised that the account was closed due to some sort of fraudulent activity. I spoke with numerous reps who adviosed that a refund of my funds where on the way but they were never sent . I filed a complaint with the ftc, cfpb, bbb, netspend. to no avail. they then request a letter of indemnity completely ignoring the federal restrictions on federal student aid . Lone star College has advised netspend directly that they do not send out letters of indemnity. and Netspend Is unwilling to work out other solution after the school who has clearly verified my identity, has advised for the funds to be sent to me. They even have a court order ftc case advising them to refund the fund to accounts such as mine and they are still not willing to work with me and the fund are still sitting on the account 10 months later.

I received an authorized charge on my card and I reported it stolen. Then I called back immediately and ordered a new card. That was May 22. Today is June 13. I have not received my new card. On Friday, June 9, I called to inquire about my replacement card, since it had been more than two weeks since I'd ordered it. I was told that a card would be sent out, expedited, and that it would be 1 to 2 business days. Today has been two business days. I called to see where my expedited card was and was told by a CSR that such a service was not available on my account. What? I was told that the card would be sent expedited last week and now I'm told that my account does not qualify for that? Where is the card I ordered three weeks ago? Can you go three weeks without having access to your bank account? This is absolutely outrageous. Now I'm on hold waiting for a supervisor.
