Internet
I canceled and every day they are still trying to take money off my card. I've called and called them to let them know I had canceled. But, they will put me on hold and then eventually will hang up on me. This has been going on for two weeks now.
Netzero dial up. Internet
I have not been able to get online with netzero in area code 434-836- (Danville Virginia ). If i do get connected i can`t get past the opening page. The problem is worse since the phone company makes me dial up the area code 434. There is only i number to call that is not long distance. No computer changes on 2 computers on dial up.
Desired outcome: Restore internet to be able to use. I have been using a borrowed computer that has high speed access.
prepaid master card
Bought the card for $4.95 at the store and put $35.00 on it for an online purchase. When I called to activate the card I was very unhappy with all the personal information they wanted so I told them I changed my mind, I didnt want the card and I wanted my money back. I was told I would receive my refund in 7-10 days. I received a check from them today in the amount of $30.05, not the $35.00 I was expecting. When I called to find out why, I was told they charged me $4.95 to refund my own money. What a scam!

Interenet fraud unauthorized use of card
My husband is a senior citizen he only gets so much a month on social security. My husband purchased internet from net zero. They lied all the way around. Social security said they took almost two hundred from his card. They promised they would put it back they lied. They put thirty some dollars back. We have tried to settle it now they say he had one account and they gave his money back. But they did not and they added so much stuff it was robbery. They might not of held a gun to his head. But they robbed him can you please help us. Shut them down or something they are committing fraud and they are robbing people and getting by with it. I have read some of these complaints and my husband isnt the only one that they have victimized. It seems its older people that they are making a victim.
Just turn away a guy at my door in net zero uniform telling me he was here because I had requested information about the company. I've never heard of them but he had my full name and address. He's very lucky my dog had just eaten.
Scam Company
NetZero is really in the "scam industry, " as they have no product or service to offer or support. They charge in advance for antiquated, defective, worthless equipment and so-called "service" that they already know can never be obtained with their antiquated, defective equipment. They are fully aware that they are doing this, and do not even attempt to stand behind their equipment or their service. They have a conspiracy with Barclaycardus that when a customer disputes prepaying for unusable equipment and service, Barclay will never open the dispute. Instead, they will conference NetZero on the phone with the customer and then hang up. NetZero has these calls answered by reps with very thick accents who will argue with the customer calling them a liar until they hang up and call Barclaycard back; Once again they get another Barclaycard rep on the phone also with a thick, foreign, hard-to-understand accent; and repeat. Eventually the customer cancels their Barclaycard in order to not pay for the fraudulent service.
POOR SERVICE
NetZero mail application so clogged with advertisements that it is often virtually useless. Crashes, freezes, delayed response again and again due to ad scripts taking up all bandwidth on page. Complete waste of time, unsatisfactory service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH NETZERO. Takes ridiculous amount of time to do ANYTHING with email due to ads slowing application to a crawl. Windows message again and again "Page is not responding due to long-running script" Crash. Reopen, work for five minutes, CRASH. Reopen, work for two minutes, CRASH. Lose work. Sent back to previous unsorted version of mailbox. Wait twenty seconds for application to respond to EACH MOUSE COMMAND, over and over, and over, and over, sitting waiting for ads to load and GETTING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING DONE FOR HOURS. GARBAGE, total waste of time. Stay away.

This service was canceled several months ago and out of the blue I receive a collection notice that I owe them $33.80. I tried to speak with someone in reference to this error and I could hardly understand them and was told they had no record of my cancellation. Word to the wise, if you have this service and cancel. Please get a reference number and date of cancellation for future records and hold on to it for at least two years.
Netzero what a joke I will never recommend them to anyone. My account was supposed to be canceled 3months ago so I thought. We were told the cancellation never went through and that's why were billed. So we canceled again in July 2008 come August we were hit with 25.00 cancel fee and 11.90 charge. After being on phone for 1hour finally was told they would refund 11.90 but no cancellation refund and the 11.90 for the previous.
Noticed on the 8th of January, 2011, Netzero took out $4.95 for a service I haven't used for almost 2 years. It's not a lot of money but the point is they are still taking money that's not theirs.
UOL*NETZERO [protected] endless charges on my bank account. I just filed a frauds claim with my bank and also just paid off a credit card statement for overdraft charges due to these charges adding up to over $600.00. What can I do to have these companies refund my money and pay the overdraft fees?

I contacted them a year ago, this coming April, they stopped charging and refunded some money. They haven't charged since then until just a few days ago. I look at my statement at least once a week.
charged service I never asked for
I applied for internet service giving them my credit card info. Then after searching the internet, I found out they were using mobile data as their connection and I was limited. This is not what I asked for. I cancelled the account a couple hours later by going through a lot of transfers and people that need English lessons. I was credited on my account as promised, but now they were charging me some kind of protection that I never asked for. In other words, they are making money hoping it will go unnoticed on people credit cards.
Ripped Off
I told the agent January 8, 2015 that I needed internet service for school use. She asked if I would use a laptop. She said 2000 megabytes would be fine for school classes. I received the NetZero mobile broadband stick January 12, 2015 and have only used it two days and already my account has been suspended. NetZero says I need to upgrade my plan to pay...

I am a student and needed internet service for online classes. I purchased a mobile broadband from an agent who told me that 2000 megabytes would be fine for what I needed it for. I ordered it January 8, 2015 and it arrived January 12, 2015. I have used it for about two days and now I cannot log on because I need to upgrade my plan to pay 79.95 a month...

I am really getting irritated by this fraudulent company!
I got their dial-up plan for 9.95 a month starting with their "FREE" 30 day trail and said that if you cancel before 30 days you wont be charged a thing but you have to provide you credit card number to them in case you want to keep their service. Well, before that time was up I got a bank statement stating I was charged 9.95 the next day I called customer service and went round and round with some foreign person and then demanding to talk to a supervisor. She told me that she would refund the money back to my account witin three days and that they would give me the next 30 days free. I told them that I did not want thier service anymore an to cancel everything and close my account with them so I deleted my email account, threw the installation disk in the fire and thought everything was fine. This was in October now two months later i get a 6.95 charge to my bank accout and a email saying I have Norton Anti-virus for free now I have another charge for 6.95 again and I cant seem to get anywhere as to get my money back. I am so ready to see a lawsuit against this company to see the all the people that have been duped by this foreign scam to get their money returned to them and then some for the bounced checks and other problems they have caused! I demand retaliation!
There have been two charges made to my debit card by Net Zero. I do not have a Net Zero account and have never authorized a charge to my card. I do not have a land line and could not connect to Net Zero.
I demand an immediate reversal to the charges.
Fraudulent bill
I recently received an alleged "bill" from United Online Collection (Netzero) for $19.90. This statement said that my "payment" was past due and if I didn't pay it within a certain length of time, it would be turned over to a collection agency. Here's the problem...I do NOT have an account with this company, although I did look into it a couple of years ago when I got a new computer. At that time, I sent them a note stating that I was not interested in their services and have not heard from them until this past week. I will NOT be paying this bill because I do NOT owe them any money. I did already send a note to the Better Business Bureau and I will next be contacting the state attorney general's office to file a complaint with them.

FRAUD AND INTIMIDATION
I was visiting my sister in Florida who had just purchased a new Dell computer. I put the computer together for her and wanted to connect to the internet and set up email for her before I left to return to PA since she is not computer literate. I installed NetZero on her computer and then called them to set up a "free" 30 day account on my credit card. I was switched to India and spoke with a man who said my credit card wouldn't be billed for 30 days and that I need the 14.95 version which had Norton Security. I explained that I had just installed the latest version of Norton on her computer and didn't need it. He insisted I did and I insisted I didn't need it. We hung up after several rounds of this. I then realized there was no modem on my sister's computer so she called ATT and set up an account -ATT would send a modem the next day. I called NetZero back and was connected to an Indian named "Summer". When I tried to cancel the account she insisted I needed Norton even with cable. I again said I did not want or need anything from Net Zero. After several minutes of this, I asked "Summer" what part of NO! she didn't understand. She then, in a threatening tone, said my credit card number could end up on the internet for everyone to use. Needless to say I was shocked and upset. I hung up and promptly called American Express to cancel my card explaining my conversation with "Summer". Also, when I tried to uninstall NetZero from my sister's computer the computer froze - three separate times! Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do about removing this program as well as reporting this company? Better Business Bureau needs an address and I don't have one for NetZero. And what about Norton? Shouldn't they have some responsibility here since it's their program that Netzero is pushing?

Still charging me
I signed up for NetZero, but realized later that I wanted to cancel it. I called and cancelled the service and I thought all would be well. It wasn't. About a month later, I began seeing a charge of $4.95 being drafted from my account from NetZero. I've tried numerous times to get this to stop but it has not stopped.

Reviving an old account and billing!
Got a call from NetZero recently, asking for payment on a bill for $49. This came as something of a surprise, since we hadn't used NetZero as our ISP since 2003, and it was the free version of their service at that time. They apparently reactivated the account and tried to bill it in August of 2010, and when the credit card attached to the account was declined (7 years old, no shock), started adding up billing. No idea why they suddenly reactivated the old account, though I don't recall if we ever officially canceled it (it was a free account). After an hour-long argument with the billing rep and her supervisor, we got the account canceled (I hope - after reading here, I'm not sure) and the charges forgiven. We hope.

billing
i got netzero for free for 30 days and they didnt tell me i needed a landline til i called them after i got the cd. so i got that and said i had a local access number so i wouldnt be charged long distance and then i got my bill and it was $400 some so i called and canceled and they offered another month free and i said its not free if i have to pay for long distance. so they looked again and there wasnt a local nnumber now but i got it canceled and then my other bill came from my phone company and it was $300 some so i my phone company said to report them to the BBB and im going to do that now. the phone company got rid of $400 but i still have to pay $300 of netzeros mess up and i cant afford that with a 1 year old and another on the way!

NetZero is BS. First of all, when i was 1st acquiring about the services, I asked the rep if needed a landline and i told her her i didn't have one but she said i could use the modem in my computer. Myself, not that computer savvy, So I'm like OK. OK I get the software and discover i do need the landline. So i didn't use the software after that. I assumed i wouldn't be charged because i didn't "Use" it...wrong! Netzero charges on availability not usage. Not explained to me by the rep. I decided to check the card that I had used for this, but not for this reason of this charge, just checking because i haven't in awhile. So, I saw this charge from the 8th of this month. I Googled the description UOL*NETZERO and saw multiple complaint links and the number, so i immediately called. They started talking about that availability charging jazz, and said that will cancel the account and billing. Then asked me why I'm just calling and that i should have canceled prior to the billing. I'm like what, then i went off...First of all if i was using the service i would have known my billing date. They charged me 50.70 3months of service. She goes on to say the funds wasn't available, I said yes and the wasn't available because i wasn't using the service and had I'd been using the service the funds would have been made available. She went to say they'll refund one month's service, because there considering my case, BS NetZero.
Mad as hell in Englewood, Co
Unauthorized charges
Netzero has been charging my credit card for 6 months for an access service I never requested. They would only credit me for the last month at first, then after pressing, they said the last 2 months. I explained I never authorized these charges and finally after an hour on hold they agreed to credit my card(after I asked to talk to a manager).
If they do this to thousands of customers and only a handful are as persistent as I am, Netzero is making a fortune "mischarging" customers.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Last month i canceled netzero because i got hi-speed. Oh! So much better. But any who. I've been with netzero for over 1an half years. Couldn't afford anything else at the time. They said it would cost me 9.95 plus another 25.00 to shut me off. That is a load of @$&^%$. But they waited to to pull the 25.00 out of my account a month later. Which i didn't know until i got an overdraft of 59.00. 25.00 for netzero and 34.00 from my bank. I really don't have one nice thing to say about netzero. There getting rich on poor saps like myself!
Beware people!
Avoid at all costs. I canceled my service and after a few months started getting billed for $4.95 for Security Suite, which I never authorized.
Their claim was that I was offered a free 90 day subscription, that ran out. WRONG. They never apologized and would not credit my card.
I canceled my credit card to avoid them hitting it any more.
Juno online and netzero are the same company. They obtained my credit card number somehow (not from me) and began charging for BOTH juno online and netzero services simultaneously. When I called juno online they asked for my phone number, which of course, was not associated with any account because I DID NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT.
Since my phone number was not in their system, they asked for my credit card number and name and address, which I provided. Then they found me in their system. They claimed that someone in my home had called with the credit card and set up the Internet services, providing the CVS number on the back of the card. (Must have been my 9 year old, or my 6 year old.
Oh, maybe my husband got confused and decided that we needed another Internet service in addition to the one we already have, and went through an enrollment process to get this great new dial up service instead of our DSL.) Next, I called 'netzero' about charges on the same card, only to discover that it was the same company as juno online. The rep kept asking what I wanted to do with the 'membership' -- I stated that there was no membership to discuss since I did not open an account and I was merely calling about the fraudulent charges they were making on my card.
They finally agreed to credit my account when I kept emphasizing that they did not have my home phone number because: 1) I did not set up and account and, 2) they are not providing me with services. I will be calling my credit card company checking for a credit.
Juno online and Netzero are LYING. They are charging credit card numbers without authorization, and without CVS numbers. They need to be investigated for fraudulent activities.

NetZero began charging my CC four months ago. I called to terminate the fraudulent immediately and request full restitution for the fraudulent charges. They offered only two months' restitution. I pressed for a supervisor, who also offered only two months. I asked the supervisor quite specifically if NetZero was refusing to make full restitution and she said yes.
Same thing happened to me. Capital one nothiced unusual activity on my card and called me. They closed the old account and sent me new cards. I just received my first bill with an $89.00 Netzero charge! I haven't called the 800 number to activate it! I spent 3/4 hour going over my information with first tech. before being xferred to billing. I was told the account was opened online. I got the phone number from the account and have researched it. The owner of the phone lives in another town near. Another 3/4 hour before I finally got an agreement to refund total amount(5-10 days), close the account and no additional charges. I was told the confirmation would be sent to the email on the account... I got them to give me the email. Not mine. I still have to do some investigation, because the email name doesn't remotely resemble the phone owner's name. I know, email addresses are made up, but this one looks like a persons name... i_hilbert56netzero@netzero.com
I also called my credit card company and opened a dispute. I am supposed to see a credit in 3-4 days. I plan to close the account when the amount is returned.
They are doing the same thing to us. We got a new high speed package thru our phone company, i cancelled in May and wouldnt ya know it i contineuosly keep getting billed. Each time they tell me i had a back up plan? Each month I tell them we have been through this over and over, I want nothing from you! I want my money back. The only way i can get them to go away is either sue them or cancel my credit card! ^ months of hell!
I have never once used Netzero, but starting in January of 2008, I started getting charged for Netzero (about $80) so far. I called 2 weeks ago and their very difficult customer service dept told me they would cancel my account. They game me one debit of $9.95 only to follow with another $9.95 charge. I called them back and have talked to 3 different people at 3 different numbers (I'm currently on hold...) and have been told there are 3 accounts that have been opened. They refuse to give me a logical answer to any of this, nor will they provide a supervisor or any kind of confirmation that my bank account will be refunded. In fact, they continue to ask for personally identifiable information from me to "verify" my account even though they don't have anything on file for me. They even said if I gave them the number i was calling from (my work #, which I never give out), they could verify things. Complete B.S. I am a lawyer and would love to get a group together.
I keep getting charged for internet service from netzero and never ordered netzero from them but an idiot that I talked to said that my next bill will show credit of the last 2 moths I did not recieve my credit but they are still continuing to charge me for the internet service my home telephone number is [protected] please give me advice of what I can do in the future.I'm getting fed up with that stupid people at netzero...also if they would hire people that speaks english it would be helpful
Netzero has charged my acct twice after i canceled. I told them when i canceled to remove my acct information from their system. I was told it was. Today i looked at my statement and there was a charge on 11/22/07 and another on 10/17/07 both for $7.47. I canceled in sept. This is ridiculous they are charging ppl for no services after they have canceled hoping no one would notice. This is ridiculous, some people don't have money to throw away and i had payments sent back from other company's and was charged for insufficient funds. You can not contact them after you cancel because you cant get into their support page or call with out acct information what can i do, something needs to be done.
Unauthorized charges from bank acct
Checked my bank statement on 07/23/2009 and noticed that Netzero debit my account $4.95. I cancelled my Netzero account October of 2008. Called Netzero and they said they provided me with a backup account which I did not authorize or even know about! $44.55 has been "stolen" from my account by Netzero!

I am being charged $4.95 a month for something that I don't know what it is. I cancelled my net zero account in April of this year and only saw this charge when my wife asked about it. It has been on my card since I cancelled my account.
and I can't get any answers from the phone number on the account. Thank you Richard J. Lower E-mail address (rchlower@gmail.com )
Rip Off
NetZero was my internet provider for months. One month I was charged and realized I hadn't use this service for a while and it was no longer needed. The reason I stopped using this service because it was not fast enough and could not accommodate my needs. I work from home as well as take online courses. I needed a faster service. I called NetZero to discontinue the service. When the representative heard I wanted to cancel the service, he immediately went into a sales pitch. He tried to offer me free service, etc. When I said no, I just wanted to cancel the service, he wanted to know why. I told him I didn't use it and I had another provider. Then he wanted to know who was the provider. I told him this was none of his business and I just wanted to cancel the service. He put me on hold and came back with another sales pitch. I told him NO, I just wanted to cancel the service. After constantly telling him I didn't want the the service, he said ok, he will cancel the service. At that time, he put me on hold and came back to say, the service had been cancelled and I would NOT be charged again . He also asked for an email address so he could email me the cancel confirmation notice. This all took place in June 09. Last week, July 09, I get a insufficient fund notice from my bank. NETZERO tried to bill my account again. After telling me no other charges would be billed. I also got the online confirmation notice that the account was cancelled. I contacted NETZERO to let them know what has happened and the fact that my bank account went into a negative balance because of what they did. NetZero immediately started trying to justify why they tried to charge me for another month because the account was not cancelled and how they are not responsible for the insufficient fund fee I was charged by my bank. I had other bills automatically being deducted from my account. Because of NETZERO, I had to pay almost $210.00 in fees to bring my account out of the negative. After explaining to NETZERO what happened to my account because of their greed, and letting them know I feel they are responsible for the negative fees, all I want them to do is pay the $35.00 it cost me for their mistake. Get this, this is what their solution was: On the day I contacted them about what had happened, they sent me an email with their apology and said the account has been closed (on that day). This is a lie because I called to have the account closed in June 09 after the june payment had already been charged to my account. After telling NETZERO I was going to file a complaint, they emailed me asking to post the complaint on their complaint board so they can serve their customers better. Now do they really think if I'm going to complain about them I would only post it on their complaint board so none of their other customers would read it? I don't think so! After all what I've done, I know I will not get any of my money back. I just wanted people to know how easy it is for companies to cheat you. Please be aware and check your bank statements. Hopefully this will not happen to anyone else.
Lesson well learned!

Fraudulent Billing
I, too, had an unauthorized charge from this company show up on my credit card. I have no idea how they obtained my card information. When I called them, they said they needed my credit card number to find me in the system. I didn't give it to them, since I don't know what information they may or may not have. I googled 'UOL Netzero' (which is how they were listed on my credit card statement) and found out that a lot of people have had a similar experience. I am disputing the charge through my credit card company, so hopefully, they will take care of it.

Unauthorize use of new credit card
I was charged $10.00 on a credit card that I know has not been used for ANY online activity, but somehow UOL NETZERO got my CC number and charged my account for services I do not have or NEVER had. I called them and they would not give my any information on how they received my information. They cancelled the services after I pitched a fit for about 20 minutes and agreed to refund my money within 60 days... I WAS AND STILL AM FURIOUS...BEWARE AND PLEASE REPORT THIS SO OTHERS CAN BE AWARE...
