I received an sms on my mobile that i have won this year's nokia promo of amount 250000 euro and for claim i have to call on +[protected] and email on nokia1158@yahoo.com i dont know but i find that this sms is not genuine.
kindly help me to find out more about this sms whether is it a scam or no and if it is a scam than Nokia has to really take some serious action to stop this at once. People need to be guide about these scams.

Sub: - repairing of my mobile hand set under warranty period

I have the honour to inform you that I had submitted my mobile phone model n5610d for service under warranty period to telemobile, garima grand, 1st floor, dr. B. Baruah road, guwahati-7 on 20.05.09. The nokia care centre kept my handset and given me a copy of service jobsheet no. 2671 dated 20.05.09. On 22.05.09, the nokia care centre contacted over phone stating that the handset could not be repaired in guwahati and the set required to be repaired at company. Accordingly, they sent the set to company and stated that this would take another 20-25 days time to come back from company. After 30 days, I regularly contacted nokia care over phone but every time they stated the set had not come back from company.

On 05.07.09, I personally went to nokia care centre and asked about the status of my handset. At that time, one shri manish of nokia care told me that handset has returned by company without repairing and since his boss was out of station, he could not give me the exact status of the handset as whether this would be repaired or not and also stated that he would personally contact me on 07.07.09 when his boss would return. But nobody contacted me on 07.07.09. On 09.07.09, the nokia care centre contacted me over phone and told me to take back the set as it was returned back by the company. Now, I am fully dissatisfied with the services within the warranty period but sorry to say that the service which you provide to customers is really pathethic from a company which claims to be number one in mobile phones. I am without phone for almost 2 months which is a basic need for life.

In view of above, I need to get my phone replaced or my amount with suitable interest rate and compensation; else I will file a complaint with consumer court under consumer protection act of 1986. i got an sms saying i won R95000 on a nokia yearly promotion and those people with a broken written english said i must buy a R1440 airtime and send it to them in order to get my prize and i said to them im not interested coz why must i give them something if i won and they never replied back and they were so rude to me and when i call them, the phone is on voicemail all the time.I want Nokia to investigate this matter and punish these people coz they want to rip people off

ive recived the same msg on my cellphone...sent an email, and recived a response thats the same as people stated here. i started browsing the internet and then found this site..so tnx alot for the info! Now i wonder how come Nokia does nothing about this? is it possible they are unaware of this? is it even possible to put an end to this scammers? i feel sory for the people who fell for it, i almost did to, so tnx again to all posts here..theyve been very helpfull!

I just got this sms this morning and called they said that i needed to buy 3 x R180 vouchers then call them with the pin numbers and my banking details then they would transfer it back to me along with the R95000. The number they are using now is [protected] and the email is claimdept@live.com. I definately think that Nokia should look into this as well as MTN as they are saying its in conjunction with MTN. People like this should definately be taken care of i couldn't agree more with you Xolani.
