quality of food and customer service
My boyfriend and I do not get many chances during the week go out to dinner together to due to our conflicting schedules. On Wednesday December 13th we decided to had a dinner date, and chose to go to Olive Garden in Royersford, Pa.
When we got there, it appeared that we were going to have a very enjoyable evening. However, that changed quickly as soon as we were seated at our booth. Our waitress didn't even know what a Long Island iced tea was or if they even served it at Olive Garden.
It went from bad to worse, we ordered our food and let her know we wanted salad with our meal. We both ordered the Lobster Raviolli with shrimp and scallops. We advised her that we did not want onions in the salad. It took approximately a half an hour for the salads be brought to our table. The waitress proceeded to tell us that the reason it took so long was because she had so many orders to enter in and a large table she was taken care of. I should have known right then and there to leave but I didn't. It was becoming quite clear to me that we were really not a priority because the salad also had onions in it which we overlooked and just picked out. It was another 30-45 minutes until our food came out, only to have it be over salted and inedible. Our waitress did not check on us and I pushed the call button on the computer on our table, which still didn't get her to come over. We then saw her walking around and we called her over.
We told her about the food being too salty and not edible. At first she said "oh I am sorry" and was going to walk away again until I told her that with a price per plate of $18.99, we should be able to enjoy and eat our food.
She then took the plates and said she would see if she could find her manager. Approximately 15 minutes later she came back to the table and stated they were you g to take the meals off the bill.
The most AMAZING thing about this whole horrible experience is that the manager NEVER showed his face at our table.
So a night that should have been special was a disaster. Again, it really does not to feel good as a customer to know that you don't matter. I guess CUSTOMER SERVICE is a thing of the past for The Olive Garden.
Trust me when I say that others will know about this experience.
I have no problem if you want to contact me, my name is Connie Sattizahn and I can be reached at [protected].
service
Start off I love Olive Garden of course my favorite is spaghetti I try to go as often as I can this is the second experience that I had that was really bad I had it to go order and I ordered spaghetti the angel hair with the meat sauce the meat sauce is usually little tiny meat in the sauce but this had hunk of meat and no sauce that's too much money to have to pay and not to be able to enjoy your dinner and the salad the second time I've had it for to go there's hardly no salad and no stuff on top it's just lettuce. I've written you guys before and no response I'm not out for anything I'm just very disappointed I'm sitting here now would love to go up there but too bad experiences for to-go orders not happening. And one other thing to me when I went to pick it up you pick it in the bar area and behind the bar and through the area where they were working to me was way too dirty. Again one of my favorite places.
management and unprofessional behavior of store #1596
On 12/9/17, 4pm, I arrived to Store #1596, South Hill Plaza Olive Garden Restaurant. The restaurant was busy, but as a frequent customer, not out of the normal. I expected a bit of a wait time. I checked in at 4pm for 7 guests under my name Angie. The guest seater, told me expected wait time would be about 20 to 35 minutes for our group. I took my beeper he gave me and sat down. 30 minutes later while we were still waiting, we noticed more large groups some bigger than ours coming in the door. While we were sitting there, we saw multiple smaller groups, some with 4 or 5 guests be seated who had arrived after us. I understood this as we waited that tables may be available for them. However after sitting there another 25 minutes, so 55 minutes total now, we noticed that two groups of 7 were both seated before us. These groups arrived almost a half hour AFTER us, when this restaurant does not take reservations. I approached the Guest Seater, and asked him, how long we would be waiting, as we have children who are hungry as well. He stated probably ANOTHER 25 minutes. When I asked him why, nicely, because we had just noticed two groups of 7 who were seated before us, he checked his sheet, and I could see the look on his face, that he has clearly over looked us, but instead of saying that, he told us, that he had only ONE table designated for a group of 7, (which made no sense) and that the table we were waiting on, was taking a long time to eat. And he had sat the other groups, thinking this table was going to leave sooner. He then said he would check on the table and be right back. 10 minutes later, we never saw him leave his post but heard him talking to someone about it, however no one ever came. I then asked to speak to the manager, as it was now 1 hour and 20 minutes we had been waiting to be seated. The manager, Anna Richards, approached, and told me that she was sorry for the wait, and then proceeded to tell me that the table had actually already cashed out 40 minutes earlier, however they were all still sitting there talking. Not eating, not ordering anything more, just talking, and she was sorry because she would have assumed they would be more respectable and leave. I explained to her that I have been a waitress and I knew that there was techniques, when it was a busy time to get customers to understand they need to leave, however she said they cannot do that and per Olive Garden Policy, the people were free to sit there as long as they wanted.
Though I don't understand this, I asked her, so in the event this ONE table decides to stay there for another hour, are we to still sit here, because you gave two other groups tables that came in after us? She apologized again and said there was nothing she could do, we would have to continue to wait until they got tables open. Two of them being the two tables they sat down after we arrived.
She then walked away.
This was a very special dinner for us, it was to celebrate my brothers birthday, which I understand may not be of importance to anyone but us, however as paying customers, I do know that we would have had quite a bill in celebrating as we always do.
We waited another 15 minutes, now almost 2 hours, in hopes that that manager was going to resolve something, however we didn't see anything, so we left, and went to a restaurant BJ's, right next door, and were happily seated within 15 minutes, and they were just as busy as the Olive Garden.
We frequent the Olive Garden quite often and we have NEVER been treated so rudely and as if our services were un needed. I would think regardless of how busy a store is, that each customer is valued just as important as the next.
Because of this, not only did you lose our business that night, but you will lose our business for future events as well, and the business of many of our family and friends, because this truly left a very bad image as to how far down the staff customer support has gone.
I work for the Government myself and if we treated anyone as rudely and as unvalued as this management treated us, we would be reprimanded on the spot. It is truly unacceptable, and I highly disagree with how she is representing the Olive Garden and blaming Policy for their lack of judgement, planning and organization when seating customers. It was clearly their error and over sight and they took NO accountability for it what so ever.
I would ask that training and better techniques of being accountable be put into place with staff. A friendly reminder of whom actually provides the money to pay their paychecks would also be needed.
The Olive Garden has always been a place I have valued and loved to be at, I have never complained about anyone, but this one was truly disappointing. Our time is just as valuable as the next.
Thank you for understanding.
While they definitely should have handled the situation better, I don't see any evidence of anyone acting rudely. In regards to the customers who were just sitting there talking, unfortunately a lot of companies do not allow the restaurants to do much at all to try to get the individuals to leave. Both in food service and regular retail.
You could consider calling their corporate office with your feedback if you wish.
tour of italy
I hate to complain but I was really disappointed with my visit to Olive Garden. I went for my birthday and spent about $50 between my fiancé and I. Although food was served ina timely manner and we had a kind waitress, my Tour of Italy was shockingly a terrible experience. The waitress burnt her hand super bad on my plate and warned me. Between talking to my fiancé and eating the first portion, the Alfredo, both the chicken and the lasagna had about 15 minutes to cool down. I got a nice bite of the lasagna ready and sat and blew on it. I put it in my mouth and was overwhelmed because of how hot it was. Burnt the tastebuds right off my tongue, I started crying as I'm trying to hurry and chew to swallow. I wanted to spit out but had no napkins and felt that would've been akward. The burn was so bad, I couldn't finish any of my meal or my appetizer. Here I am, 3 hours later STILL in pain. Really would have wished to have a better birthday experience.
felt threatened/very unprofessional waiter
The Olive Garden in Columbia MD has very unprofessional staff members. After we finished our ok meal and paid our bill me and my fiancé walked to our car and was about to leave when our waiter Jose N. Came out and approached our car and told us to role down our window; he came very close to the window and started moving his hands and the receipt around. We had no idea what was about to happen; we felt threatened and very uneasy. He asked us in a very angry voice "why you ain't give me a tip?" I proceeded to tell him that what we paid for is all we had money wise and he walked away from the car cursing and throwing his hands up in the air. My fiance was terrified because she didn't know what he was going to do or what was going to happen.
Tips are often a large part of the wages a server makes. They can be essential to the income of the employee. You should not have eaten at the restaurant. If you cannot afford to tip your server, get your food to-go.
poor management
Today 12/9/17, my family and I decided to go to Leominster ma Olive Garden. Our waitor was great and we immediately ordered two apps and drinks. After we place our meal orders and everything was going smoothly. 15 minutes after placing our order our waitor came over and told us that the manager accidentally deleted our order when putting in an order for a party. We told him we were easy going and not to worry about it. He then asked us to give him our orders again so he could put them in. After 15 Minutes the manager came over and apologized and asked if we were okay. We said not to worry we were waiting patiently. Another 20 minutes go by and our table was now being avoided. One of us ate right out of a large salad bowl because no one brought her a plate. Then my dad got up to tell the manager we were really upset. He said he'd check the kitchen. The waitor then brought our food and a plate for the salad which we no longer needed at this point. I am gluten free and. Although my pasta was gluten free they had sprinkled bread crumbs on my chicken so I had to send it back. Then when it came back about I realized that the food wasn't what I even ordered. The manager then told us he would compliment our appetizers. No one said anything but asked for to go boxes. We apologiz d to the waitor as most of the problems (besides not having a salad plate) were out of his control. We told him it was unfortunate that our appetizers were comped when we spent an hour and a half at the restaurant and had terrible service. He apologized and we went on outer way. For a 100$ bill this was disgraceful. All we wanted to do was Leave the restaurant l, not even purchase the gifts cards we had wanted to for Christ gifts. We understand things happen but management should have prioritized our order after the mess up and not avoid us.
endless pasta bowl
My first comment is on whether or not promotions are the same in all Olive garden as I spent $100 on a meal for two ppl thinking that we were enjoying the endless pasta deal in which was advertised later on I spoke to the he manager who said they ended it 3 weeks prior. 2nd the portions were so small I luv OG. But this was not ok. I think if your advertising all stores should work together yo notify the public if those deals no longer apply.
poor service
For more than Thirty years my wife and I have celebrated our Anniversary at an Olive Garden facility. Over the many years I have become used to outstanding service. Today 12/09/2017 was an exception to the norm. We weren't celebrating any special occasion and for that I am thankful. we were only having lunch and the restaurant was not crowded. We were seated in a reasonably short time and from that point the service declined pretty quickly. we already knew what our food order was going to be and so when the waitress finally came to take our order we both ordered the Soup and Salad lunch special. It took what seemed twice as long for our order to be brought to our table and one request for lemon for her drink by my wife was not honored and both of us found our soup to not be very warm. We both asked for a refill of soup and then needed to ask for cheese for the soup, which we never received. Overall, this was without doubt the overall worst Olive Garden dining experience that we had ever had and while I am not one to threaten to do this or that unless this or that is done to pacify me, I will say that we are likely to not be so loyal to the Olive Garden chain going forward as we have been in the past.

olive garden
We ate here tonight & the food and service was just aweful. This is my favorite restaurant but tonight was just awful, it wasn't even busy but our 4 plates took forever we had two chicken Alfredo's and two kids meals & the two tables beside us got their food and left before we got our entrees. Once we got our food it was cold and not what we had ordered we were gonna inform our waitress but she didn't come back until time to pass out the check, no refills nothing.
degrading and inappropriate experience by management at olive garden
Experienced the most disheartening and racially-charged experience from the General Manager at this location. Very disrespectful leadership, discriminating and degrading. As well, service was decent, but timeliness of food was horrible - was there 1.5 hours and received only our appetizer. Had to continually ask "other" servers to bring salad, water, etc., while Management is too concerned with discriminating instead of ensuring quality, timely service. Will NEVER visit this location and probably Olive Garden ever again. Cannot believe racism in such a manner is still present in such a city; very disappointed in Atlanta today
poor food
On December 3 2017 I ordered of the website for the Casa Grande Arizona Olive Garden. We have eaten there several times in the past and we have always had great customer service and the food has always been excellent. However tonight the food was terrible we ordered it as a to go order. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp scampi and it was so dry he couldn't eat it and I ordered the chicken carbonara and it barely had any sauce half the pasta was without anything at all. Olive Garden is my absolute favorite. So I was very bummed. The salad and breadsticks were good though
everything
I would just like to say that I am a really big fan of Olive Garden in general. To the point that my family buys me gift cards for Olive Garden for holidays and birthdays. That being said, when I was recently at an Olive Garden at the Great Mall location in Santa Clara County, California, I was utterly disappointed. I have worked in the restaurant industry for close to 8 years now and so I understand the normal complaints that people make just are not something that you can control. However, it was a Wednesday night, and according to Google averages, not a busy time for us to be there. When we arrived, we were told 10-15 minutes for a table of 2. After 30 minutes, my mother went up to ask about our table as others with similar sized parties who came in after us were sat. The girl looked really confused and then told us we were up after one more party. Now, I know that that is pretty much code word for "we forgot to hit page on your pager, " but I chose to ignore it - assuming that the restaurant was very busy. When my mother and I were sat (after another roughly 20 minutes or so) we could not help but notice that there were about 30 tables open - some clean, some dirty. But we did not see that many tables walk out of the restaurant for it to make sense that it took us almost an hour to be sat. Now, when we were brought to our table, the hostess realized that it was still dirty. Instead of reseating us at a clean table (which was next to this table) she went to look for things to clean it with. At this point, I was annoyed and starving, so I timed her on my phone. Two minutes and 13 seconds to find things to clean it with. She then forgot to leave the silverware and menus for us when she walked away. She also did not take away the dirty wine glasses - major health code violation right there. Then it took over 10 minutes for us to be greeted, but the server walked by multiple times and just smiled at us. So either she was not our server and our actual server never served us, or she was just totally incompetent as a server. Eventually, our food order was placed (although our server knew nothing about the "Never Ending Pasta" campaign and could not give us any details on it). When the food came out, both of our pasta bowls were so over-cooked that we could not even get our forks to pick them up without them just falling apart. After 45 minutes, we were able to get two new bowls of pasta to go. While all of this food stuff is unacceptable and annoying, the bathroom situation was just ridiculous. I have attached images I took because I just honestly cannot describe it in enough details for it to be understood. Nothing was even offered for dessert, and a manager never came over to check on us or see how our remade pasta came out. I was so disappointed in this whole restaurant experience. I highly doubt that I'll be staying an Olive Garden fan after this experience, and that is so sad because I used to be such a regular patron.
everything
¤ We were welcomed at the door to an older lady, who looked miserable. She did not say anything to us, just stared at us and then walked away.
¤ Someone else sat us at our table after the lady walked away. We said we needed a high chair. My 9 month old baby was with us. We were never given one. My daughter ending up smacking her head off of the table very hard. It left a big mark and a bump.
¤ When I asked to be relocated the miserable lady said "not much we can do" Every so often we would catch the miserable lady across the room, just standing there, with her arms crossed and looking in our direction. This made the environment uncomfortable.
¤ I ordered a pasta with grilled chicken, they served my dish without the grilled chicken and still charged me for it.
¤ I waited for 20 minutes for a manager to talk to me about the mishaps. She reordered my dish and canceled the first order...?
¤ The server took our silverware and plates before we were finished with them.
¤ We waited for a good while on our salad refill and bread sticks.
¤ The salad was over dressed with dressing.
¤ We were not given any handkerchiefs with our silverware.
¤ I have pictures of my daughter's eyebrow where she hit her head on the table, also have pictures of the plate I was served.
bathroom & food
My family and I recently went and ate at Olive Garden right at the time it was opening, My sister and I went to use the restrooms and there was pee on the toilet seats and toilet paper in the toilets from the day before, also there was a dead cockroach on the floor. To me that is VERY unsanitary, if we came right at the time it was opening the bathrooms should be clean we were the only ones in the restaurant besides the workers.
The spring mix in the salad was non edible because it was very wilted. The bread was over cooked and hard!
bad time for my family
Hi to All:
Yesterday was my birthday and as always I was to celebrate in the best place in Puerto Rico Olive Garden, unfortunately this time I made a mistake because I went to the restaurant of San Patricio in Guaynabo for the first time because it was not a good night for me my guests .
First of all the place was empty with few customers many empty tables and still we waited 30 minutes to be seated but that is acceptable from my point of view.
What surprised me and my guests was the bad services which I know is not represents the best interests of Olives Garden, which stands out for being a restaurant with a high quality of service and good customer service.
I was served my drinks, but I never got my special drink that I always drink a Vodka with China that only you do well but never never despite the times I told you that my waiter, we never received the bread that distinguishes Olive Gardens, then I served the salad and 15 later my forks and knives and to my surprise a single napkin for four people. I do not believe we told him and went to look for them and the food arrived and never the napkins, never the refill and less never my vodka ever I arrive.
I do not believe that this is the service that you always give and it is confirmed because I am a loyal customer of you
But this you should know
We, our family, never complain to the waiter because we are not this kind of person and even being nice to the people that we talked to his employees, it seemed that we did not care on that day that should have been so special for me. It was a frustrating day that we will never forget. nor my family.
I hope you can work with those details for me that birthday was horrible and forget and Olive Garden is more than what I got that day Olive Garden for me was a place to have fun and not wanting to forget,
Thank you for attending and sorry for this statement but I could not remain silent

food
We went for a lunch date and the food was extremely gross... The chicken dumpling soup only had 1 piece of chicken in it and the dumplings were dry and gooey in the middle. Then we got our entrees i only got 1 piece of shrimp in the whole entire dish. I was extremely disappointed as this is my favorite resturant to go to.. I dont know if i will be back because the poor quality of my food.
Did you tell your server? Did you ask to speak with a manager?
food and horrible service
We took my daughter with her baby to eat all you can eat soup and salad. Once we were seated it took waitress for ever to come get our drink order. Then she kept taking off and not returning until 15 min later to take our order. Then when brought my husband soup it was cold. She came back after questioning him about and said here I microwaved it so it should be hot now. The salad was oily and wilted. Waitress was rude, bad attitude, and took a long time with our total service. We were there a little over 2 hours. Worst experience we have ever had. We always have had good experiences in past. Waitress name Kayla LaPerriere
cold soup, dirty dishes
11/24/17 at 11am we went to the Olive Garden in Colonie, NY. We ordered soup and salad and a bottle of wine. Wine glasses were spotted terribly, I actually cleaned the second glass IN FRONT of our server. My daughters soup was cold, mine had no potatoes or kale at all, I had skins and broth. Our wine was not opened, we opened it and poured it ourselves. Sad, sad lunch.
Did you try asking for a manager?
