Don't bother with Chillwell!
What a piece of crap! Worked great for the first day or so. I had two and they both had the same problem. Turned on and then turned off. It was as if the motor couldn't handle the higher setting.
Called the mfg and was told that because I purchased from another retailer they couldn't help. Further, they apparently have ZERO technical support. She said she'd never heard of my issue. Funny, there are many, many reviews of the same thing happening!
Buyer beware. I bought a knockoff on eBay and it's worked without issue. It's not as sturdy but it works! It was $20! Well worth the cost.

Cillwell 2.0 false advertising. I paid $124.88 for an $89.99 unit that didn’t work. And $20 for a virtual warranty. There are numerous websites that are made by this company that are false reviews and then sell you the item. The website says 60 refund if you are not satisfied with the unit, but you try to send it back and they want you to keep it with a 50% discount

It worked perfectly so I grabbed a beer and took the unit into the front room on the coffee table, turned on the TV (free digital signal), and turned on the Arctos unit. Immediately my picture became scrambled and continued scrambling for all channels making watching impossible. I turned off the unit and instantly my TV was working perfectly. I moved Arctos in different places in the front room but had the same results. Evidently the "engineers' failed to incorporate the proper filters (no doubt to save money) to prevent this interference rendering the unit useless! I wrote to customer service a week ago and still haven't heard from them. I then called customer service and talked to their representative (working from home) who was absolutely clueless and unable to help me. This may be one of the worst businesses I've ever dealt with...BUYER BEWARE

I also ordered the extended warranty and additional filters as this was recommended. The reviews i read on line were outstanding so this is why I made the purchase. We only opened one of the devices and put it in my daughters room, which was the smallest and the product didn't work at all. The room did not get any cooler as advertised. I reached out to the three times via email for the refund with no response. I even had *** investigate but this wasn't covered under their rules. To make matters worse i found they are selling these products at King Soopers for 1/2 the price i paid. It's too bad the product didn't work as advertised, but the company is not living up to their offer of the 60 day money back guarantee. My first reach out was in the first two weeks. The 2nd and 3rd were with in the 60 days. I'm giving this one start because i have to, otherwise, i would not give them any

I want to file complaint against Ontel Products Corp for FRAUD, or possible scam! I started an order for tv offer on the BRELLA. I started the order but left it in my cart on Monday, 8/8/22. I did not place order. due to it being a little bit more than I wanted to spend. Instead, I order similar item from Amazon. Today, Ontel charged my bank $64.91 for order that I DID NOT place? How is that possible if left in the cart?

Was instructed in the on-line conformation that I would receive an email when the item was shipped (5-10 days). Day 12, not email of items being shipped yet my credit card was immediately charged the day after the online purchase. Contacted the company - on the phone for over 3 and a half hours only to hear, they don't know where the order is. Have tried to cancel the order and get and try to get an email verifying my cancellation and they tell me it could be up to 48 hours for an email to cancel. I hesitate to hang up because it took me 45 minutes to finally get the next available customer service representative. Customer service person never once reached out for help to solve the situation. IF THIS IS A LEGITAMATE COMPANY, IT HAS A LOT OF ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENTS. I am not reaching out to the credit card company to dispute the charges as I have never received the product and don't feel I should be paying for this. Many hours of my own time has gone into this terrible experience.

They gave a 60 day money back guarantee so I called, got the return address and shipped the units back at my expense. After I got notice from *** that the company had received the units, I called again and they said I would be refunded. I received no refund, so I called again and again have not received a refund. Do not buy!
I bought the Chillwell item in July 2022 & tried it immediately when it arrived. It does NOT work to how the company advertises and the website said there was a 60 day return / refund policy. I called within a couple of days and there was a huge run around about getting a refund. Finally (after I mentioned contacting the Complaintsboard.com) I was told that Id be refunded in full ($126.94) & itd take *** business days. I also emailed the customer service address they gave me the same day with all of my information. Its been 11 days. I emailed again today and no reply. The Arctic Air Pure Chill at $90 is probably the worst rip-off I've experienced in my 70 years. Once you've gone through freezing the filter, putting water and ice cubes in the tank, and pointing it at you, the VERY LIMITED cooling stream is worthless. Plus, the device leaked condensation all over my desk and I litereally had to use 20 paper towels over a four hour period of time to wick the water so it would drench my legal briefs. Made in ***, probably for $5, it is the ultimate ripoff. And, oh there is a warning saying "STOP" don't return it to the company; what's that about !I'll be returning it to the company and I'm contemplating a class action lawsuit.RKH
I believe this OnTel Products Corps is a scam operation. I purchased 3 ChillWell devices because they were advertised as being a small room AIR CONDITIONER. The devices are not what was advertised. This product is not a room air conditioner, but a simple fan that blows over water then through a frozen filter. The cool air turns to room temperature once the water warms and the frozen filter melts to room temperature. I called the customer service line and talked to a representative about where to return the items and was told to discard the 3 units that I have and they would send me 3 more units. I did not get the 3 units or a refund. I'm sure that I am not the only person who has been victimized by this company as there are hundreds of negative reviews about this product. I should have checked here before I spent over $200.00.

We bought a CHILLWELL. This product doesn't meet our needs. We would like to return the product but need to contact a customer service representative as they specify online for return privilege's. They have NOT responded to either email or phone calls to customer service. If you call customer service they NEVER PICK UP even if you wait 40 min or more. They DO NOT respond to emails either. I have tried to contact them more than 5 consecutive times and there is no response. We need a confirmation to return the product and have our debit card accredited. I have boxed up the CHILLWELL product and it is ready to ship but they only give a 60 return policy, but with no response, the CHILLWELL we want to return will soon be over that time limit because no one responds. It never cooled the tiny room we put it in: Not even one degree. It has charging problems and it doesn't stay on during the night (as promised by online advertising) even if plugged into the wall socket. It dribbles all over the counter it sets on...Condensation is a BIG problem. We would like to return it according to the requirements set by ONTEL and have our debit card refund.

I bought 2 AC units and the warranty for $178.78 on June 11, 2022. When I received them, they were not what I thought they would be, so I returned them by *** on July 1, 2022. They received them on their dock July 7, 2022. and they were never used. I called them twice and also emailed them twice for my refund and to this date have not received a refund. They never responded to my email and the persons I spoke to keep telling me that I would receive a refund within 10 days and the other person said I would get it by the 30th of July less the shipping cost for a total of $169.83. It looks like I am part of their scam after reading all the other reviews!

After being hooked into the reviews, I did order it on June 21, and then had second thoughts because the price of shipping and handling etc. brought the price to $106.68. I looked online to see if I could find a better price which included free shipping, and did so, only to find out that the company claiming it was a Chillwell online was selling an unbranded Portable AC. Nevertheless, I emailed my desire to cancel the order to ChillWell just 20 minutes later. ChillWell never did respond to my request for cancellation. The charge was made to my CC, and I did not receive the product until Thursday, July 14, after emailing on 4 separate occasions that I no longer wanted the item. I had made a dispute of the charge, and Chase honored my request, but ChillWell sent the item regardless, and I ended up refusing it, and sending it back to them unopened. July 15, 3022.I am alerting anyone drawn into all the hype, that you will NEVER receive any *** response from ***, and to spare you the time consuming effort to avoid this trap.

This is a fraud. We went to order the product online. The website does not provide a place for cancellation of the order. The person I spoke to on the phone refused to allow cancellation of order, claiming that the order is not in their system for 2 to 4 hours. Yet, on the website, they are prepared to send an order receipt for the item they claim is not yet in their system. We wanted to cancel the order because they did not advise until after the credit card information was taken that there is a cartridge that must be replaced every one to three months at a cost of $60 each time. This is a rip off. In addition, although the product is advertised to be powered wirelessly by a rechargeable lithium battery, the company does not provide the connection for recharging the battery. They charge an additional $10 (special offer) for the wiring apparatus without first advising of that fact. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told there is none. We have not tried the product, and if the order is not cancelled we will refuse through our credit card company to pay, but the company's methods show that a 1.11 rating out of 5 is way too generous. You apparently require a star rating. I am rating it "1" because you offer nothing less. In truth this company deserves a zero star rating.

They make it very difficult to return. There was no invoice in the package.You will wait to talk to a rep for approximately *** minutes.The whole process was very frustrating, and made me aware of how you must be very careful of purchasing items online. The websites that come up when you *** "Chillwell" made me realize how crafty they are in their advertisement. All the items that come up when googling "Chillwell -scam?" - you realize are all very supportive of the product.I did not even open up the items to try them out when I received the package- I immediately sent them back the next day. After waiting 40 minutes, I will say the rep was able to have my money immediately refunded after providing her with the "tracking" number. I did have to pay $46 dollars - but I am so glad to be rid of the items and if I decide to try it out, I will go to the local store to purchase a much cheaper of the exact same thing to see what I am "missing". And then return the item at no cost. I will never buy anything from this company again - and will definitely be more careful of purchasing anything online. I am very thankful that I learned this *** without a huge loss.

I called them up and spoke to the representative and explained to him the problem, he said, he was going to reimburse my credit card and I asked for an email as confirmation. He said, within 2 to 5 business days I should be reimbursed and he was emailing me my confirmation. Well, I never received and email confirmation and they did not reimburse my account. I called again today, 6/15/2022, spoke to Ricardo, I explained the situation to him and I also told him the product is not what they claimed it to be, I tried it out and it was not the hype they said it was. It was a lie and he said, he was going to reimburse my credit card in full and to discard the machine, I asked for a shipping label to return it back to the manufacturer. He said again, not necessarily needed throw it out. I asked for him to send me a confirmation email that I will receive my reimbursement and as I have him on the phone, I will check my email for it to confirm the email was received. He gave me a bunch of stories as to why he couldn't send the email now, I will get it later, I asked to speak to his supervisor and he hung up on me.

I wish I could rate this company ZERO! I eagerly bought 2 ChillWell AC units from them on June 6 based on the "great" online reviews but realized the hard way that those reviews were probably from their own people or from those who they PAID to highly endorse their product. The product they sent me was defective! I am a pretty handy person who followed the no-brainer manual instructions to the letter but the AC unit worked for a good 5 seconds and then stopped. I thought maybe I inserted the cartridge the wrong way but I didn't. Utterly frustrated, I called their Customer Service number @ 888-***-63*** and waited on hold for a good hour and a half but to no avail. In fact, when I thought someone was about to pick up the line, my call was DROPPED! So much for "Customer Service". I sent an email to their "helpdesk" address --- one dated June 13 and the other dated June 21 but NO ONE EVER GOT BACK TO ME! To date, I have yet to hear from them. All these aggravation only mean one thing --- that this company is a big SCAM. I should have realized this when I ordered their product online. There was no way to CANCEL or GO BACK once I put the items in the shopping cart. They just wanted to take my money and charge my credit card by HOOK or by CROOK. Very dishonest! I have bought thousands of products online but never came across one like them. Reading from all the bad reviews here, it's not only me but a gazillion others who experienced the same. They should be banned from doing business anywhere. The fact that they are NOT Complaintsboard.com-Accredited in itself speaks volumes.

Their site has been and still is BOLDLY advertising "In Stock Ready to Ship" and " Available to Ship Immediately". Then once you pick a plush to purchase and start the checkout process they try to get you for extra add ons for additional fees. The only cost I was looking at was $29.99 for plush, $6.99 for S/H and $3.99 for shipping insurance During the 10 plus step process of checking out there was an option for "Priority Processing" for an additional $6.99. So for a $30 item we are now over $50. So, I proceeded to make the purchase. It also stated will receive before Christmas. Well needless to say the item will not be here before Christmas. Estimated to arrive after Christmas. I contacted the Customer Service several times. Nothing but rude associates and don't care at all. Only options given was refund on the priority shipping fee on 1 call, another call was a refund of $20. I asked for someone to get this item packaged and actually get it moving, next day or 2 day shipping. Their response was they don't do that. WELL, on their website today12/21/20 it states... GUARANTEE Christmas Delivery. That's 3 business days to receive this product. I purchased item 20days ago. This company is promoting and advertising something they can not deliver on. But, they are certainly taking peoples money. Not at 1 point has this company tried to come up with an option that will get my item to me. I will never do business with this company nor will i purchase anything that this company is involved with. Oh, I forgot to mention, this $29.99 item is being sold at local retailers right now as low as $14.99 in stock and on shelves.

This company is a complete SCAM. They seem legit on their website at https://www.arctoscooler.com except the product they sent me what NOT as advertised. These cooling units are nothing but a PC fan that run super loud and are underpowered (the website claims they are super quite). They claim 1 unit will cool a room in under 5 mins and they don't cool they just blow hot air around. I emailed this company twice about returning the products on 5/14/22 and 5/16/22 (I purchased 3) since I was dissatisfied with the product and wanted my money back (their website offers a 60-day money back guarantee). I got NO response so I contacted my bank to dispute the charge all to find out 2 months later Arctos got in touch with my bank stating they needed me to return the products for a full refund. I called the customer service line and talk to two different representatives about where to return the items and both representatives mentioned they DO NOT accept opened items. How are we as customers expected to try out a product by not opening it? Then I was told by another representative that I could return the Arctos and try and send another email because she couldn't solve my issue. After being very frustrated, she then agreed she would manual refund but it would ***-8 weeks to process? NOT ACCEPTABLE. There was no professionalism when I requested she send me a receipt of this refund which came from her personal email stating this: Reason for Call: 2. Firstly, I tried all the company-provided methods to track the order using Chillwell's primitive website, only to be informed that the order didn't exist. Then, after about 10 days, I called the Chillwell customer service line, to no avail, as they never picked up. No response to email either.I then researched the parent company, Ontel, and emailed its customer service, along with a gentle nudge that I would happily employ the lawyer service I'd been paying for for three years. The next day, I received an order confirmation from Chillwell and was able to finally track my order. Shortly after the unit arrived, it was a disappointment.The unit worked well for about an hour and a half, and then never powered up again. I knew then that I probably had a huge fight on my hands trying to get my $109.08 refund from Chillwell. Knowing it was a shot in the dark, I called Chillwell customer service on July 31st, 2022; and, surprisingly, someone picked up. I explained the situation to the woman on the line, who was decently understanding and professional. She briefly put me on hold to complete silence - no Muzak as would be expected with a legit business. She did come back on the line (amazingly) to say that I would be fully-refunded, and I should just throw the unit away. It is fortunate that I used a third party payer, PayPal, for this transaction, and I should expect to see the money back on my credit card in a matter of days.Red Flags: Arctos, Artic Air and Chillwell are all strikingly similar units, all made by Ontel. It seems as if this company throws its junk out there to see where it sticks and to see how much money they can reel in. Interestingly, one can scour the Internet but not find a single negative review about Chillwell. And, why would I be informed to throw it away?

However, once I ordered, I did not have the chance to make a decision because during checking out the website did not allow me to check my order before accepting the purchase. I decided to cancel my order the same day because it was out of my budget ($76.12). On 09/03 I was surprised to see a charge from them in my bank account ($76.12), immediately I called them and they state that they shipped my purchase despite I canceled my order the same day by phone, they did not give any explanation of why they did it. They said as soon as I get the package I could return the product via *** for free. On 09/12 went to *** to return the package and they wanted me to charge $11.00 I decided not to drop it. On 09/14 I called them again to ask why I should pay by a product if customer service said it would be free but the guy said I should pay it, I asked him to talk with his manager and he said they do not have manager, I was so frustrated because nobody wants to assume some responsibility. I do not want to pay for returning the package because it is not fair. They do not want to recognize their error by shipping a purchase that was canceled the same day. I decided to contact by email to have proofs about my claim but they haven't responded my last email about *** charges. The package still is with me, I haven't opened it. The website states that the offer is covered by our 60-Day Money Back Guarantee.

I called the company and the rep told me I did not have to return the equipment due to Covid and I would have the credit to my credit card in a few days. On October 3rd I shopped the ontel.com website for a Starbelly stuffed animal. I chose Paypal as my payment method but I was asked a series of questions during check-out (like if I want to order 2 rather than 1, if I wanted deluxe soft plush fabric, etc.) which promtped me to research the product. In doing so, I found the same product available on Amazon for the same price and no shipping/handling charges. I decided not to order from Ontel and closed my browser. The next day I see Ontel has charged my bank account $39.20. I called to object and they said they could not cancel the order but could give me $10 off as well as correct the shipping name and address on the order. That sounded fishy enough but when I checked the order today and it still hadn't shipped, I called again to cancel it because now it will not be here in time for the child's birthday. They will not cancel the order, they will give a shipping date for the order and they refused to let me speak to a manger. I want the order cancelled and my money refunded.

The way they described the product in the advertisement led me to believe that the thing worked do to some kind of breakthrough in the design of the device. [For instance you may be familiar with termite hills in Africa... There is something about the way they are designed that it causes the temperature to stay at a constant temperature (say 72 degrees) even though it could be 100 degrees outside. When I received the unit I found out that they wanted the user to put a section of the unit in the freezer to freeze it and once the water in this part is frozen the air blowing over that would cool the room. In their advertising there was no mention at all about putting a part into the freezer to cool it down. This seemed to me to be a scam... At any rate I am not satisfied and I want a return of my paypal money.

I was considering purchase of chillwell ac and visited the site numerous times. At one point I was considering 2 units, then just 1. Payment method was to be PayPal, and I did place items in cart but NEVER completed order process and decided not to order. Apparently the orders were processed without me authorizing. Called and emailed Ontel as soon as I saw charges and before items shipped. I was told they couldn't be stopped, just refuse delivery and they would refund my money when they received returned items. I refused delivery on 7/12/22 and items were returned and *** shows they were received by seller on 7/15/22. I called again on 7/23/22 and was told refunds take two weeks. You cannot run the fan on high, as it leaks everywhere when you do. 3 days after receiving the 2 Arctos coolers, the original 4 arrived (the one's I had been assured had been canceled twice.) I was charged for all six pieces of junk. My emails have been ignored by the company. Calling is more lies and lip service. $89.95? It's not worth $25!

I finally received the items and both items did not work the water ran right through them. I must have called over 59 times and sent many emails and received no response from this company. I got tired of this and closed my browser because I had been given no indication the order was complete. All legitimate businesses I've dealt with online take you to a confirmation page before finalizing your order. The next morning (April 13) I saw the order confirmation from ***. At about 10:15 AM Central time I called customer service and told them to cancel my order. The customer service rep lied to me twice. First she told me the order had shipped. At about 2:15 PM Central time (4 hours later) I looked at my order status online and its status was "Printed" not "Shipped." That was lie #1. I have a screen shot of this order status. This is just not the case, and far, far from the truth. It cools maybe a two to three foot area and that is all. You have to have it right next to you for it to work. They constantly use "AC" to refer to it, giving the impression that that is what it is. I believe it is blatant false advertisement to get you to buy the product. It is very expensive at $89.99 and looks cheap, and the cartridge looks to made for $5 to$8 and they *** you for $34.99. Hi, I recently purchased 4 mini desktop "Air Conditioners". They do not work at all and this company charged me overcharged me quite badly - so much so that I paid $278 + warranty for $49 - ~$330 . I purchased them via a *** Ad. Then I tell my son they don't work and he sees the exact same company selling them on an infomercial for 2 for $40. I called them to return the product and the first person told me I could refuse the package and bring it to either the post office or *** because they deal with both. I ordered 2 Chillwell portable air conditioners on 5/29/22
I ordered 2 Chillwell portable air conditioners on 5/29/22. I did not like the products when they arrived and returned them in perfect unused condition, as per their instructions via US *** at my expense on 6/6/22 within 5 days of receipt. To date, I have not received my refund of $161.77, that I was promised. I called Chillwell @ *** several times (6/16/22, 6/30/22, 7/6/22 and 7/14/22). Each time I was told the refund is being processed, please wait a couple of days more. They tell you this to get you off the phone, I quickly realized. They told me to call my Bank and see if they are holding the deposit for any reason. When you call Chillwell, you are on hold for about 30 minutes before any Rep joins the line; this has happened all 4 times, I've called. I asked to speak to a Manager to escalate my situation and they finally transferred me to one and then he told me to wait a couple of days more, again, and my refund would be deposited. He told me that the prior Transactions were not done correctly and assured me the refund would be deposited in 3 days. I never received a refund. When I called the 2nd time, they gave me Transactions numbers so from then on when I called, I gave them the Transaction numbers and the Reps said they did not see those numbers anywhere in the system. I have been getting the run around each time I call. I have checked with my Bank and there has never been an attempt to intercept any deposits from Chillwell or with the dollar amount I am looking to receive. When you are fortunate enough to get a Rep on the line, they act like they are sorry, they put you on hold, as if they are doing something behind the scenes, and then come back and say, they have processed my information and that I should wait another 3 days to receive the refund. They are really a joke of a company and are very bad and steals your money when you return products and I need help in getting back my hard earned funds. Please help me.

On July 8, 2022 I purchased one Artic Air Pure Chill 2.0 mini A/C. I saw the ad on line and the cost for that was $39.99. I ordered it. When I received it it did not work as was advertised. I immediately called Ontel and told the man who answered the phone that it didn't work and how do I return it to them. He was not very nice and disgustedly told me to throw it away. I also told him that they charged me $106.36 which was more than the product was advertised for. He said they would send my PayPal account $97.91 in 15 working days. I again told him that the total price I was charged for this one small A/C unit he told me to throw away cost $39.99 and they charged me $106.86. I again asked for a mailing label to send the unit back to him and again he told me to throw it away. He then hung up. I never received my money back in my PayPal account. I then filed a complaint with PayPal. PayPal said that Ontel was asking for the tracking number of the item and also what company I sent it back to them with. I explained to PayPal that I was told to throw A/C away and that's what I did. Ontel would not send back the $106.86 to PayPal and time was running out on my complaint because I could not provide the tracking information. I called Ontel again and talked to a lady named *** and explained what happened. She noticed that I was having a problem and that I should wait for the refund. I told her it was past the 15 days and PayPal had not gotten the refund and told her Ontel wanted tracking information on the A/C unit I returned. I again explained to her that the man who answered the first call told me to throw it away which I did. I asked to speak to her supervisor, but was told that I could not speak to the supervisor, but that she would speak to them and put me on hold. She came back on the phone and told me her supervisor said they would refund the full $106.36 within 15 working days. I spoke to her pm 8/11/2022. I still don't have the refund and it's now 8/30/2022.
