Product came damaged, now we are being ghosted
Let me first give the back story of way we are so impatiently waiting for a response to the damaged tv stand. July 9th we came to Hamilton to choose a sectional for our family room. We purchased a sectional and offered to pay the amount on the spot to ensure the sectional was ordered in a timely fashion. Amber, the salesperson, was very helpful and eager, but it seems as soon as the sale was confirmed, she lost interest in getting the thing ordered/paid for/delivered. She emailed on July 9th saying 'here's the quote for the sectional, we need a deposit before we can send in the order'. July 12th I etransferred $660 (with was 25% plus the $95 membership fee because Amber didn't reply to my email as to whether I needed to send extra for the fee or the amount that I needed to send). July 29th Amber emails asking questions about which fabric we want on the sectional. August 5th (almost a month after we 'purchased' the sofa) she orders it. October 8th we get an email saying the sectional has arrived at the warehouse and we need to arrange delivery date and pay balance 2 days before delivery. I replied to ask for the balance, she sent the invoice, I couldn't open the file (saying the file is corrupt), asked her to just send the amount we owe, she sent the invoice in a photo. October 19th, paid in full. Then crickets... October 24th I emailed to ask about a delivery date, she replied 'call the office and they will help you'. So I arranged my own delivery. Thanks for the great customer service Amber :(
Meanwhile, on October 5th, we had gone to St. Catharines to purchase a tv stand (we didn't want to pay a second delivery fee, St. Catharines is closer to our house, and we didn't want to use Amber again). Teagan said it would be in the warehouse within a week and be able to be added to the delivery of our sectional, so no extra charge. The deposit was given October 11th, the balance paid October 19th. When I was arranging the sectional delivery, I asked it the tv stand had arrived yet. They said it would be another week, so we said deliver the sectional and we will pick up the tv stand in St. Catharines. November 2nd we went to the St. Catharines store to ask about the status of the tv stand. The salesgirl working said 'it is waiting at the Hamilton warehouse for pick up'. I told her we had arranged for it to be here for pick up. She said I can schedule you a pick up appointment here for next Wednesday (Nov 9). November 9th we show up in St. Catharines, she has no idea/recollection of us booking an appointment for pick up. "It is in Hamilton at the Warehouse for you to pick up". We re-schedule for November 16th. Get the box home, open it up and though it was packed very well with styrofoam and cardboard, it has a gouge in the front, the bottom of the door is crushed, and one shelf has the front broken completely off. I immediately call the customer service (Karen) in Hamilton. She says send pictures. I do. And then crickets chirping... This past Friday (more than 2 weeks after receiving the stand), I resent the email asking the status on this issue. Karen replies, I sent the pictures to Ashley. It seems once you have our money, we matter no longer. We had intended to purchase a table and 6 chairs, and an accent chair for our family room as well, but given these circumstances, we will spend our money elsewhere. Orders number 130323 and 128365
Desired outcome: I would like a new tv stand, DELIVERED for free. My husband says a 50% refund of the price, he will get someone to fix the tv stand. Either way, we should not have to chase for proper customer service.
too many to mention... sofa warranty... delivery charges twice
Worse store I have ever dealt with in my 63 yrs... Stay away... I bought 9 pieces of furniture last aug and sept... My son got ill, and did not move in till april... By aug 4th I had sent an email, about the cushion of the sofa, then 2 days later another, then the base spring part broke, and it was unusable, so sent another... To be told it, s $124 too come and pick it up, and then redeliver it... What... I am under warranty... I argued this price, and I got it, knocked down to half this..$62.14... I had to etransfer this.. Very odd indeed... While the delivery men, were there, they scrapped the sofa across the popcorn ceiling leaving 2 large 9 inch plus marks, with peices of my black sofa in the marks... My son asked the delivery guys what the heck. Oh don, t worry this is a replacement, they always are... Well.. No it was not... So there was 2 scrapes on the couch... They did not care, or acknowledge this.. Our guys would never say this... What... I am lying.. My son is lying too... Ok... So in the mean time, I had sent eric from parks many emails..33 in fact, one asking to buy some fabric to cover the arms, and in case any other issue arises, after my warranty is up... No response on the material buy.. So I emailed and called the co that manufactured the sofa... Which also stated it should be replaced... I sent many photos... They do not deal with park as a wholesaler any longer.. Hummmm... They were great people who are replacing my sofa free, nothing to do with parks, it, s all hughes, and stoney creek furniture.. Who feel bad at the shoddy treatment I got... Now I am reading reviews, and this is what I read... That parks had sent to another lady 9 months ago... If you [ick it up, it is your responsibility to bring it back, however, if you pay for delivery and there is a problem we will comeout and exhange it at no charge...in the future you may want to pay for delivery... I did pay on purchase... And was under a membership... A membership... Which will never be used again... We are spreading the word... After speaking with a lawyer, I was told the above statement means I should get my whole $62.14 back, and instead of them coming and repairing my ceiling as I am not happy with them coming into my apt, pay me to have it repaired... Do not shop here... Do not think you are saving any money... Read the reviews... I am still under warranty, and getting this kind of treatment... Eric is not a good service manager, and this is bs... I have spoken to bbb, and a few other company in the hamilton and st catharines area, I won, t post the responses.. But not good... Well... Live and learn... Just pay me my money back, and you will never hear or see any of us, or our friends again... Shame is we went in to buy 4 more pieces this past summer, as we bought a new house, that needs a lot more furnishings... I dodged a bullet, but still got nicked... Stay away from park... Update... I called the store, now... And asked for the manager, I got this man, who I recognized and ask his name, he said derick.. I said, derick or eric.. Oh I am derick... I asked for the refund on my delivery.. And was told the delivery fee warranty expires after 2 months... I also asked about the ceiling, and was told.. Does it effect your daily life, duh... So I phoned back, and asked for a derick.. Oh we have an eric but no derick... And he is not the manager, he just works in service.. The owners patrick is away, and will be back next week... I will be calling patrick next week.. On monday, as he is at a trade show... Stay away from this store.. They lie, and then lie to cover the last lie, then lie, about the 2nd lie... Lies lies lies... And scams...
power reclining sofa with console seat and chair set
We shopped at Parks years ago, bought leather furniture we had for 15 years, all was good. We went back there after looking around at a couple other places and decided on another leather power recline set paying in full $3820.00 July 2017. Mistake! After no response and delivery date of 8 weeks passed, it took numerous calls and emails to Parks sales rep to find out they made error and ordered two chairs not sofa and chair set that we paid for and we had to wait another two weeks. One month later after numerous calls to them, finally delivered end of Oct. within one day, seats collapsed down two inches from middle seats, console was not set properly, chair did not close correctly. This set was defected and we called them on it right away. They said they would send out service guy, who came two weeks later. We said we wanted a refund, they said they would make new seats. I said I wanted a refund. They said they would fix it. Another month passed, heard nothing. Sofa hurt your seat and back to sit for long periods. Emailed, service was rude, sales was rude, no one cared. Asked for owner, he was arrogant and rude and said he is busy with CRA and hung up. Business in trouble? I called back got sales, she said not her problem, what? I said that is it get it out of here, we want a refund. By Jan. 2018 we am fuming! I want this set gone, that is when I am told I have to pay 20% restocking fee on this defective furniture plus delivery charges are not refunded. At this point we want it gone, we went out looked around and bought another set, beautiful genuine leather reclining set on sale $2100.00 taxes and delivery all in and he through in a picture when we told him issues with Parks. Parks pickup set Jan and then we had to fight for our refund as expecting to pay $778.00 charge, we were charged $1000.00 as supposedly 20% on a non member/sale price. What a ripoff! We had to pay for their defective crap that they will sell to someone else! Even then, the refund amount was wrong and we had to call them again to correct after talking to person in billing who could not add, spelling it out to them. This company is now owned by crooks and there is no customer service, they do not care about their customers! BUYERS BEWARE CAVEAT We will NEVER and everyone we know will NEVER shop there again! I will also notify as many sights to reach others to avoid this same situation, BBB, press, small claims!

on april 1 /2016 i purchased a mattress for my son that has a back and neck problem .we waited two weeks .got the call from the salesman mattress is at the lottridge warehouse .when i picked up the mattress and got it home my son saw it was the wrong mattress so we returned it .we wait two more weeks.get a call go down again. wrong mattress again .we wait three more weeks .get a call .go down again.wrong mattress.warehouse worker tells me his boss says the is no such mattress .warehouse workers smelt like pot.the store gave me two options buy a different mattress or cancel order . i cancelled. for the privilege of dealing with parks it cost me 7 weeks waiting .three trips to warehouse [30 in gas money ] and then they charged me a 5 dollar fee for cancelling .not one time during the waiting period did anyone at that store even try to find out what was going on till the last few days . we bought a mattress at leons it was in my house the same day .i boycotted parks for 30 years because of the exact same problem and i now see they havent changed a bit so i will never spend another dime in parks or even the partner company ashley furniture ever again .invoice # 59793.
dishonest, no customer service
I purchased 15k plus of furniture and appliances from Park's in June 2015. My washing machine was making some noise and I called Frigidaire for warranty repair to find out my appliances were manufactured in 2009 and out of warranty. I purchased a washer, dryer, stove and dishwasher. When I purchased these items I was told they were Brand New last years models that they were no longer carrying. I was sold the items for what they said was COST less 15%. I was NEVER told they were that old and out of warranty ! When I contacted Park's I was advised they would not do anything about it. They told me I got a deal on the appliances... After much research I learnt that what COST was at there time of purchase I could have purchased a BRaND NEW current model for... WHO would ever have purchased these appliances knowing the facts.. NO ONE! The owner Patrick Gabriel never bother to call me only corresponding by email. I was reasonable and asked them to offer me a refund in a store credit for what would have been an acceptable sale price for these units or pick them up and refund my money. They had a service man call me to arrange repair of the washer which I refused because I did not want a 6 year old washer with no warranty. Please see screenshots of the Owners responses to my emails... "This is my final decision", and "don't contact us anymore"! Please feel free to contact him if you have had issues with Park"s.. great customer service
I feel it's only fair to give positive feedback as well as negative feedback. I read the reviews before going to Parks Furniture and I was a little concern but I still went. I had a great experience, the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up buying my furniture. When the furniture came I was missing the hardware for my table and the salesperson took apart the floor model and dropped it off to me so finish putting together my furniture. I also thought I would mentioned that I shopped around and Parks Furniture prices were almost 1/2 the price the same items were on sale at Ashley Furniture.

I spent $2500 on Ashley furniture and their educated staff showed me 2 catalogs and also their showrooms and I loved their collection. Whenever you spend $1200, you automatically become a member, so I will be reaping for the rest of my life. I received my products within reasonable timing needless to say that delivery was ok. Overall it was a good experience. Flawless service Park's Furniture store. Will definitely be sharing the great news.

I so love this store. Whenever my husband and I decides to renovate, I always say Parks Furniture and he always agrees. This is one of the decisions that we NEVER fight about, due to faultless service. It really seems these staffs were trained at the highest level before being employed because they care about your needs so much, you get treated like family. We are members by the way, being that we have been there so many times. My husband and I enjoys their discounts, and to top it off, out purchases were always on time without scratches or damages. A lot of gratitude goes out to you guys. Wishing you all the best continuously with your business.

Hi bloggers, first timer here, would love to become one of these persons that blog, but first I really want to make mention of this store that I made a purchase from, namely Park's Furniture store. I wanted my island to have an airy feel to it and went here for some help. I got great expertise advise from their knowledgeable representatives. They showed me their catalogs and their showroom as well. They went all out in trying to please me. I paid $230 for my Counter Table Top, made from granite. It was a great experience for a young male and new owner such as myself. I will definitely be back. Thank you Park's.
Bloggers I have great news about Park's Furniture store. I wanted to see what the fuss was about this store located in Hamilton, St. Catharines in Ontario and their recent location in Niagara Falls, NY, after hearing so much about this store. Well I must say either I'm stupid for liking great attention by well-informed staffs along with great pricing. I bought a computer desk for my niece below $250 and a bookcase below $706 after discount. They were also delivered on good timing. Thank you Park's Furniture.

Hello, surfers, I would like to share my experience that I had at Parks Furniture store. Its was splendid. I got exactly what I wanted. Whoever said that looking in a catalog at Parks was awful and wrong was lying. I even got examples of each item that I saw. I wanted some island chairs for my breakfast area and I got exactly what I wanted. All done with patients and understanding from the best representatives. I will definitely be checking them out for their membership because I would love to experience some special discounts. Who wouldn't want that. My items were delivered on time too. It was not hectic, everything was smooth running. Thanks Parks.

I read these reviews before going to parks and i want to corrected a few things. I tryed avoiding PARKS from what I read here but was haveing no luck at other stores so i said what the heck and as far as Prices go PARKS was the best every one held the same furniture ( ASHLEY, DECOREST, PALLISURE ) and PARKS prices beat them all even at the ASHLEY stores themself same sofa PARKS beat the price and not just by abit were talking big time saveings $$$$ how do they do it, dont know dont care all I know is it saves me money they had the most reasonable Priced furniture Ive seen the only problem i had was there selection it was overwelming there was so much to pick from they have 3 floors each dedacated to living room, bed room, and dinning room each a city block long if you go take your time and makes sure you dont miss out, and there sales people were vary helpfully when selecting they dont hover over you while you shop it was a vary pleasnt experiance and ill be doing all my furniture shopping there from now on

The Park's Furniture store and location (in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) are gross!! The furniture selection is redudant and unimpressive. The prices are unreasonable - way over priced, even the banged up floor models. The staff were condescending, arrogant and unhelpful. They were unreasonable and did not make any effort to provide good customer service...
