unable to try on top and bottom of costume
I sent you your store in San Antonio, TX, SW Military. I had the worst experience. I have bought my daughters costumes there for many years, since she was a litle, I don't understand how party city has a policy that you can only try one piece of the costume at a time . The costume is sold separately, shirt and skirt. How are your customers able to make a decision if they want the costume or not if they are not able to see the whole complete costume? The manager said it was policy and I can understand if it's two completely different costumes, but this one was one but sold separately. Also, I see that it's to keep track of costumes to make sure people are not stealing them but the store was slow and there were several employees behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. I told them they can all stand outside the door to watch her and make sure she comes out with both the top and bottom.
This makes no sense and you will continue to lose business for such a policy. I think as a manager, common sense would tell her it was one costume but just sold separately. This is a ridiculous policy.

The manager at this location is so rude. He needs to be fired and replaced immediately. How can you have someone like this representing your brand? And allow him to talk to customers in such a manner? It is disgusting. Right after he was done yelling at his cashiers, he made them all get off of the registers and disregarded the entire line. He left one cashier on, and when I tried to speak to him, he began to be nasty to me. There were witnesses and the others in the line agreed that his behavior was disgusting.
party city euless robbed me in front of customer and employees...
Party City Euless makes the worse shopping experience for me. I pickup 2 balloons yesterday 2:40pm and it leaked before I left the story, so one girl said she will give another one but then she said that what I had was the last one, and she said it was the AC indoors, if I walk out of the door, it will be Ok.
But the air was gone over night, so I took it back today at 12:30pm, I said if you don't have any more, I would like to return them.
A woman name Dimita yelled at me, no return after 24 hours, I showed her my receipt it was not after 24 hours, she yelled again, no returns for balloons. I asked her, where do I see NO RETURNS FOR BALLOONS? she yelled: you don't need to see, I am telling you now...
Then she grab my 2 balloons and tell me you can go and take care yourself. There were 2 other girls just watching.
managers attitude and poor customer service skills
This morning I went to go re-purchase some balloons I bought the day before for my sons first birthday photo shoot that deflated . It's onlu four balloons so I thought I could pop in quick and get it done before the shoot. The cashier Matthew was very helpful and told me he could help me out with the long wait since it was only four balloons. He calls the manager Daniela who was filling them up to help me out and she gives me this horrible attitude about a line and having to wait, I explained the situation and she brushed me off with an attitude . I then politely ask for refund and she leaves me mid sentce to go to something else and waves at me to go back to Matthew who was helping me out. I found this so rude and I will no longer be going to party city for my party needs . This was in the London square store in Miami, FL 33187
broken tooth from gumball
Hello,
I would like to start by saying that I utilize Party City a lot and have never had a complaint until now.
Having said that.
My co-worker threw a party for her daughter and purchased many items from your Roseville location on 5 Star Blvd. One of the items purchased were gumballs. When I bit into one, it broke my left molar, requiring me to have an emergent root canal.
As these were for children, it is very concerning to me that it broke my tooth.
While I am not interested in pursuing this, I do believe that compensation for the dental work is appropriate.
I am happy to provide the receipt from my dentist detailing the charges. Please do not hesitate to contact me.

I ordered a costume last Tuesday and received a confirmation email but since then, no other emails stating the status of my shipment/ETA. You can't even track online or get through to customer service because it's all automated.
I would like to know if it will ship out this week because if not, I would like my money refunded.

Hi there I wanted to put in a complaint ... I recently went to put in a big order for balloons and was told due to the helium shortage that they were not taking orders, that is fine, I processed to order 3 disposable tanks and a 100+ balloons well on the day of the party I blew them all up and to my disappointment with in 2 hours all the balloons were on the floor, I was and am very unhappy with this and the fact is my 2 year old was in tears because of all the balloons were on the floor before any guest arrived

We had such a bad customer experience today! The employee SHYSHY was being so rude to us. We asked for help for a piñata and she rolled her eyes on us cause she was busy talking to another employee. And when it was time for us to pay she was blocking the lane to pay so other customers decided to go the other way, when she saw their was a line she stood up and open another register and told us the line is over their, I was like hello you were blocking the line, all her stuff was everywhere in the floor. And when it was our turn to pay she closed her register and went to the other employee and started talking to her. What kind of employee is she? If she didn't want to help us, then hello she should not work there at all!

There is no return policy posted anywhere in the store so I went to the cashier to ask him about your policy. All he said was 30 days and stops.
I bought a few items.
I went back to return some items today. I was shocked when the cashier told me the items are on clearance so I cannot return them.
I told her that I asked this past Saturday and I wad never told about that I couldn't return clearance items.
She did not apologize. Instead she accused me of not wanting to spend a few bucks.
This is very bad customer service. I am assume that they are not trained well. For a company that has many stores, I expected more.

The party city in Clark NJ has kept a line of people waiting for balloons for over an hour. We each have parties to get to and have been waiting for balloons for hours. When bringing this to their attention, the employees are rude and disrespectful as the talk badly about you in front of you. It's disgraceful. I should not have to wait over an hour for balloons that should have been ready hours ago for pick up. I should not have to pay for poor service and rude employees.

I've been going to this party city for over a week and calling about their shirts and they say they don't have them out yet I told them the Menifee store has them out already and they were rude enough to say well then you can go there and get them and when I asked about the shirts they always say we don't have them out yet they're still in the back in a box.
government help manager didn't help
I worked at party city a year ago and my manager had put in the wrong digit for my social and took TWO moves playing phone tag with me. I'm very fustrated because I wasn't able to submit my taxes. Because of his careless mistakes. He was very careless and not responsible he could have given me hr number and email but instead took it upon himself. I had called and he was out of town so I understand. Later he told me my number was incorrect .

Was correct and I called multiple times that week. We played phone tag for two months. Then later told me he had called me. Which I didn't receive those calls. When I would there he would kiss up to high management. If it benefits him he would do it.
This is government related and affects my family financially.
I also stated that I couldnt access my ADP. And he forgot to mention that to the hr provider and they fixed my social but I cannot resend my take form with no access to the account.

I went to the store 3 days agop. ago to print a banner for my daughter prom. I asked the cashier how do I work the printer she said it disentangle work. I asked if there was another store near by she said watching. I asked if she can call she said no you have to call your send. I asked did she gave the number she said no google it. I said the store don't communicate she said no abd walked away. Very rude. My daughter was in line I was still by the print nachine I walked up to my daughter and said let's go the printer nit working. She said wait the girl is talking about you calling you profanity names because you asked her to call the store. The cashier had know knowledge that the lady in line was my daughter and witness her talking badly fir no reason about her mom because she was pointing at me to the other cashier. Short black guy. I asked for a manager he cane out said he didn't know why she said the machine didn't work because it dies " he help ne with the banner " he also says he didn't understand why she would not call the store because we do assist customers when asked to calll another store. I'm very upset and so is my daughter. Her behavior is nit acceptable and should not be tolerated.

I am a frequent shopper at Party City in Livingston NJ. I create fun centerpieces for all types of occasions. Going into your store last week proved very disappointing. I asked for a manager to help me find some items for 1 year old birthday centerpieces. The theme is CandyLand. The candy aisle was lacking in the quantities for many of the items I needed. The manager was unfortunately no help at all. She had no time & did not know her stock. She told me to order online & that she could not help me with the order. Some items that I needed were in store & not online so I needed to purchase from both places. My dilemma was that you were running a coupon for 30% of $150 which I easily spent between both places but could not get the discount because each purchase was under $100. The add also had a code for free shipping at $39 which I also did not get on my order. The order also said free ground shipping on orders placed in store but she would not take my order. I prefer to deal with local stores vs online sites if I find a good coupon that replicates the prices of less expensive online stores. I am very unhappy with this latest experience in your store & am strongly considering taking my business elsewhere.

I just visited the Woodbridge, VA location (store 186) at 12:39 EST on 5/11/18 and was blown away by my experience there today. Upon checking out, I signed for my credit card purchase and a receipt failed to print. The computer screen read 0.00 balance due, so the cashier called the manager on the phone in the back, who told her that I didn't pay and needed to pay for the transaction still. Very confused, I quickly pulled up my bank app on my phone and showed the cashier where the pending charges had gone through to my bank so clearly the transaction went through and I had paid. The cashier agreed and called the manager to the front of the store. When the female Hispanic manager came to the front - she just kept insisting that I needed to pay again and repeated that the transaction didn't go through. I agreed to pay a 2nd time, if she could give me a receipt for cancelling the charges that were pending or some type of paperwork showing the transaction would be cancelled and reversed and the manager refused to. She had a computer printed copy of my transaction in her hand. At this point, I explained to the manager, that if the charges never reverse - how do I get it fixed without a receipt to come back with and she said she could not help me but insisted again that I needed to pay a second time. I refused to pay a second time without some type of evidence that I can resolve the first charge. I explained to her that she had a problem then and she said she did not have any problems, so I asked her to call the police because I believe she is committing theft and rather than call the police she called her supervisor and partially explained the situation, she clearly left out the part that I just wanted some type of paper trail because once I walk out the door, no one will help me without a receipt. Both the supervisor and the manager were unwilling to provide me a receipt or documentation showing me the first transaction (#49 register #1) would be cancelled therefore I could make the 2nd transaction. Again, I requested the police to be called then suddenly my receipt printed and so clearly my transaction went through and it would of gone through, so I would of been charged 2x and had no receipt to resolve this issue. I tried to explain to the manager that refusing to provide me a receipt (even hand written explanation with p.o.c) was very poor business practice and she said it was company policy. Although, I have a hard time believing it's a company policy - I am lodging my complaint with the company. What company doesn't provide receipts or point of contact information for a customer to return and resolve issues. Everything about being asked to pay twice and being refused a receipt is sketchy. I couldn't even decide not to purchase the items from the sketchy manager because my card had already been charged - I couldn't leave or they would call the police.. meanwhile I kept asking for the police to come ATLEAST then I would of had a paper trail of the issue so I could get it resolved. Please think this through - REGARDLESS if it is company policy or not - in this day and age - really?
I attempted 7 times from a PC laptop and iPAD to send PartyCity this complaint directly and their webpage for contact us goes to a error page with no other way to send the information so this is where I posted it.
You do realize when a transaction doesnt go through - on there end it says transacation in progress. Without it being posted - there is no way they can physically print or give you an actual copy of a cancelled transaction. I’m pretty sure if you were charged twice - The store would research and refund the second charge. On your bank app it shows a pending transaction. A pending transaction means a vendor has requested payment for your bank. It does not mean your bank has payed or you have been charged. So before making a complaint or acting irritate understand the situation with a calm head.

I and my family went to one of your store yesterday and all your employee are very snotty and rude they also followed us all over the store like we were stealing and even followed us to the check outs where I was going to pay my over $100 in merchandise that we bought they single us out just because we were Hispanics they did not follow there own color just us which was uncalled for then I called to ask the name of the guy that was following us and the girl but they question me first and then they finally gave the guys name because I told them I was reporting to Corp office.

multiple balloon orders/location complaint
I purchased multiple items for a birthday party in February and had an issue with the balloons. I ordered two gliders, a Thomas the Train and a Minnie Mouse, along with the 5 pack of pre packaged foil balloons for each. Upon leaving the store the biggest Minnie balloon (non-glider) popped and I had to go back in and have it re-done. During the birthday party the Minnie glider started to deflate and the largest Thomas balloon (non-glider) popped.
At the beginning of March I returned to the same location to place an order for a baby shower. I scheduled a Saturday pick-up for 2 weeks later because Sunday's hours wouldn't have given me enough time before the shower. I ordered a Scooby Dio glider and 4 latex balloons with extra helium to make them last longer. The following week of my original order I went in to add more balloons to the order. I saw a Scooby Dio glider sitting on the coubter. When I asked to add more to the order they told me that I didn't show up the Saturday before and had popped all the balloons. They wrote me down as a no show, however I didn't receive a phone call or anything. I proceeded to go over my order again and was ensured that Scooby would be fine sitting there for 2 weeks and that if he deflated he would be fixed no problem. I went in this past Saturday evening at 7:45 to pick up a foil baby shower balloon, 4 latex balloons and a Scooby Dio glider. I was informed that Scooby had popped and they didn't have another one. I never received a phone call that anything happened nor did the store order a replacement one. When I asked about it and complained I was told the closest store that had one was 30 minutes away (they would have been closed by the time I got there). When I asked what this store was going to do I was told they could refund the Scooby balloon. I told them I wanted all of my balloons refunded because this was unacceptable.
I have now had multiple issues with this one store and I will not return. I attempted to call Monday to speak with someone at corporate and was informed I needed to submit an email. I would like a follow up as these instances are unacceptable.

Store # 963, day before my son BIRTHDAY I came to the store half before close and picked up a balloom and I asked lady to put air on balloom and lady refuse to do it bc she said 30 minutes before close she said she couldn't do it I asked her why is only one balloon and I told her it was for my son birthday I don't know is bc she didn't like my accent she wasn't helpful at all. Next day I went again to the store which is far from where I live spending gas on my car I asked for manager who was only said sorry I would talk to her and nothing only said sorry. This store is 25 miles from where I live. Very disappointment with your customer service.
party city commercial making if of gluten free people
I don't appreciate Party City making fun of gluten free people in your recent commercial. I saw it while watching Food Network tonight, Monday, Jan 22. You don't mind taking money from gluten free shoppers. The commercial stated that the actor had made something for a gluten free girl like it was weird and a bad thing. You need to apologize and recognize! I have Celiac that is a miserable, life altering, and I didn't ask to be sick! We are just like everyone else who likes to have fun but we have to work twice as hard as those without Celiac. There are many people like me and we still like to eat and party. We are robbed from many situations because of this attitude and life threatening illness. Absolutely unprofessional. I won't be buying anything from Party City again.
