iah employee unethical behavior
As a regular renter at the IAH location I arrived on 01/11/2018 to get a car. the agent at the counter told the customer she does not have a car for him and booked a car from her work computer for the customer to go to Advantage and walked the customer over to the Advantage demanding the car be rented to the customer because she (Jordan) booked it for the customer. when the agent told her there were no cars available she told the agent well you have to give the customer one cause it is booked! There were 2 cars at Advantage for 5 rez. Jordan stated "you should have shut it down but since I was able to book one you have to give the car to the customer" The customer had already asked before this happened did Advantage have cars and the agent explained sorry only car i have is a truck. That customer did not want a truck." Jordan demanded a compact car for the customer because again she booked it and Advantage needs to do it" The agent told Payless agent there is no compact car. She did all of this in front of the customer making the customer angry at both companies. Jordan from Payless at IAH was very insistent saying "well it let me book it for a compact" She also in front of the customer told the agent I book them all the time for customers because ya'll do it to me. Advantage does not book customers cars for their own company let alone any other company. It would be very frustrating to have a customer walk to another company and have the embarrassment the way Jordan did to the man at the counter and the agent having to turn the man away.
rental fee overcharge
I dropped my rental off on November 25, at 4:30 (an hour early). Upon my drop off, the office was closed, and a note was attached on the outside door stated, "we are closed at the moment...leave the keys on the dashboard and the vehicle unlock". Myself and also another customer did exactly what the note provided! "My card was charged" ($308.61) - $110.32⬅️( was refunded)... $308.61-$110.32 =$197.29... My original signed agreement was for $77.00... waiting for remaining refund balance.
error in rental charges
I booked with Payless car rental through the Orbitz website. My total cost with all taxes and fees included was $94.80. Ended up being charged $143.88 3 days after I returned home from my trip. They accept charges for you to acquire and are deceitful and pushy. I would be ashamed to work for this scam job. Can't even call it a business. They have done this to thousands of people all across the country. I never thought to even look at reviews, but I should have and will never rent from them again or any sistering company's. Declined all extras and insurance, returned car with full tank of gas, cleaned the inside and didn't damage the outside. No reason for an overcharge. I would like my money back! This company needs to be shut down. Have documented proof of everything and still the incorrect charge.

I went online to book a rental car and the website stated a charge could not be made on my card. There is no reason for that, so I figured I typed in the wrong card number. I got the message again so I went to another company and rented a car no problem. Then I looked at my credit card statement online and it shows Payless charged me twice for the rental! I called customer service, they were rude and dismissive and ill-informed. I was told it would be 5 business days to release the funds on my card. I told the representative that was outrageous and he hung up on me! I wasn't rude, I treat people with respect, there was no reason for him to hang up on me. I called back several times in an attempt to speak with a supervisor, was put on hold for a total of over 1 hour and a supervisor never picked up. I am concerned that they will say the charges a non-refundable for the rental. This company is a joke! One phone call to customer service and you will see that for yourself. Be careful about renting online as you may find yourself in the same situation I am in.
failure to validate proper check in
My name is Brittaney Carter and I would like to report how my check in was not successfully processed on my actual return date and I was issued a very disturbing letter to return your vehicle when it was returned on Thursday, September 28 at approximately 12:20 pm. After receiving the letter I immediately contacted Loss Prevention when they instructed me to contact Richmond International Airport to only experience an unresolved matter and dishonesty! I am willing to pay the 509.34 I believe or whatever is expected of me until Thursday however I should not be responsible for that vehicle not being located until today. The manager at this site Mr. Jeremy was very rude and unwilling to assist me with this matter! Yes I appeared very disturbed and frustrated after the service I received this evening. I feel as if cameras should be able to detect the actual arrival of the vehicle as the New York plates are easily recognizable. Jeremy did nothing but basically make me feel as if I held your company’s vehicle in my possession until today October 2, 2017. He was unsure of where the vehicle was found or simple who found it. I would like this matter to be resolved as soon as possible please. Again I am willing to pay until Thursday, September 28, however anything proceeding that date is not my responsibility...

A fair resolution is a rebate for the difference between the one line price and what I was charged at the counter in Phoenix.

We flew into Miami airport on September 8th, collected bags & made our way to the car rental, when we arrived the car rental was completly closed, this was at about 6.00pm, eventuality another passenger pushed the emergency door open & we went into the car rental area where 3 security guards told us it was closed & all the companies had gone home, because of the forthcoming huricane which was over a day away & can't understand why flights were still coming in leaving passengers stranded, we explained we had pre booked rentals & after a lot of arguing he said one company was still there & he would see if he could help. He said to go & see him at payless & obviously we were pleased to get a chance of a car as we were also needing to travel north to get ahead of the hurricane, we were however shocked at the price he gave us at $1384.76 we told him the car could never be that price & i have checked the site since & it is no more than $650 for the 11 days rental, knowing our position he just said take it or leave it you dont have any other option & unfortunately for us we didn't & it didn't help when we had security guards telling us the same & we would have to leave so we had to take it, the car was not clean aswell. We were greatfull to get a car but this is price hiking & taking advantage of a situation & we know that we were not the only people that this had happened to . I am complaining because your company charged me 201.91 for a rental that I signed a contract for 101.63.
August 18th, I pick up a rental car at the Fort Lauderdale Airport terminal and signed a contract that showed that I would return it to the Orlando Airport the next day . I signed the contract for 101.63. When I returned the car in Orlando Airport they charged me for 201.91. I was sent to the desk and your person Reneil Maray tried to correct it but the computer wasn't working. He took my name, email and phone number and stated he would call me and correct it when the computer came back up. Needless to say he never kept his word . I emailed him and he never responded. I would like the charges corrected. I would never pay that much especially since Budget rented me the same model car 2 weeks prior from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale for 101.63. I am aware you are owned by them but the difference is their reputation.

The lady I worked with refused to accept my card even though it was already paid for, card was verified and facility does accept debit. She still refused had to rent another car on top of what I already paid for AND did not receive my deposit back. On 6/29/17 I reserved a Payless Rental car in San Diego for a schedule trip from Albuquerque (Car conformation: 04922315US6). The agreed base rate was $161.57, plus taxes and fees the total came to $249.63. I took an early flight to San Diego and arrived about 6:45 am on 7/1/17. I proceeded to the car center, Payless rental to rent my car. I informed the attendant the same general information when I always rent cars; I'm fully insured so I don't need insurance, I'll fill up the gas tank before returning the car, and compact car is fine. The attendant informed me that I needed a minimum of a Collision Damage Waiver, of $17 per day, airport fee of $9 per day. I was upset about any additional fees, specifically if it was more than the agreed amount of $249.63. However, I didn't have the time to argue, I had a meeting to attend. I go to the third floor to pick up the car, and the outside was dirty. The individual assisting me didn't really care, her comment was that she just washed yesterday. My response was not to park the car under a tree next time you wash one. I took the car and then returned it on 7/6/17. I soon became really upset after receiving the final bill of $352.20, $102.57 above the agreed amount. If there are additional fees they should be addressed at the time of establishing the agreed contract, which was $249.63. I got to San Diego early for a meeting I don't have time to negotiate at that time. Your customer service was bad plus hidden fees makes my experience with Payless Rentals extremely disappointing. I would like to see $102.57, returned to me.

When I made reservations for our emergency trip Southwest agent highly recommended Payless car rental. They provided lousy service E18 & F22 Payless empty slots for cars promised on the third try we asked the employee who happened to be pregnant who offered to walk and verify the car was where it said it was! This lot is hard enough when you have luggage to push on a cart.
She wasn't too happy with us accepting her offer but my husband had did it twice and I once with him to get to the bottom of the problem!
Now my husband is cursing the side on the passengers and the car side is not working.. we were just in NOLA last week with Dollar car rental excellent customer service and car.
Never again PAYLESS CAR RENTAL.

Terrible customer service, waited in line for an hour.Finally I found out they were out of cars.They said nothing to all the people waiting in this long line.I only found out by going to the only agent at the front desk, who admitted they were out of cars.Other agents hid in the back room.This location was at the airport in Las Vegas.They show va below market rate, and intentionally overbook.Don't go there.

PLEASE do not rent from this company. I made a reservation online for a car rental to pick up at Orlando Airport; Worse customer service at pick up; dropped off the car a week ago, never received a receipt, kept calling customer service, they never sent me the return receipt to this day and now I see my credit card was charged more than the original amount agreed upon. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

I was very disappointed with this company. I will not use them again. Please go with another company even if you have to pay a little extra. I made reservation for a particular vehicle so we can have enough room for our family. We visited Pittsburgh to attend my son's graduation. I made the reservation way in advance. When I arrive at the counter the rep tells me they don't have my vehicle. They offered me something else but would not accommodate our family size. Rep said was nothing she can do and go talk to other companies to see what they can do to for me. This has never happened to me before and really ruined the rest of our day because it put us behind schedule and affected the rest of the activities we had planned. Budget car rental was able to help us after the other companies didn't have what we needed or were trying to take advantage of our situation. Very very disappointed in Payless.
payment/high beam light malfunctions
I rented a car from Payless in Hartford CT on 5/12/2017 to drive to Vermont for a wedding for the weekend. the first night was our family dinner and when I was driving back to my resort, the high beam lights were not operating properly. the roads were winding and there were no street lights. I called [protected] immediately and was told that someone would get back to me. no one ever did...I continued to call daily until i returned the car on 5/15. my bill was $472.58 and I believe I should have been compensated on my bill because I was not able to go to any of the family functions at night. it was awful that we had come all the way from Fort Washington MD and was not able to attend a lot of the evening wedding events. i was only compensated for the gas. I believe I deserve a lot more compensation. we searched for the hand book and could not locate it.

I have rented Nisaan Versa from Payless, 195 Davidson Ave Somerset NJ Reservation number - [protected]-US-4 and travelled to new york on 7th. Unfortunately i lost the car keys on 9th May 2017 at my office location Newyork at 3pm. I called somerset office twice and they dint answer my call and dint even called me back. So i called the payless customer care, they took all my details and contacted the roadside assistance company. They said they will tow the car and replace me with a new car and i will have to pay for the lost keys. I agreed to them and they tow my car next day morning that is on 10th may at 11.30 am. I got a call in the afternoon from the payless corporate office saying that they cannot replace and give me with another car as i have not rented the car from the cooperate rental company.
Among all these situation my rental company doesnt have a clue of what was happening. When i called them they said they cant help me and questioned me back asking why was the car towed. When i called payless customer care they must have all the details where n when i took the car but they dint have any kind of information with them and misguided me and towed the car.
Now its been 4 days since i have not been using car even though i paid the full amount with full insurance for the car.
When i called the somerset office they said they never faced this kind of situation of customer loosing the car keys and ended up car being towed.
When i called somerset office on 10th May afternoon they said they cant help me and gave me another number of their maintenance office number by name Paul and he said he never had a situation like this i will have to travel all the way to new jersey and get a new car or get replacement keys. How can they expect me to travel all the way to New Jersey with out a car and get a new car replacement or new keys. If your services were so limited i would'nt have rented a car from Payless. What kind of options you have for a non local. If i was local i would have travelled by a uber to get replacement keys or a new car. What services do you provide for a non local?
This morning i called the somerset office. They picked up my call and dint help me with my situation and disconnected my call. I called them 4 times now and dint even answer my call.
I called maintenance officer Paul twice he dint answer my call.
Note: I rented car for a week and i used only for 4 days.
Can someone help me with the situation and take proper action of this?
I just typed out my complaint an it mysteriously dissappeared... Even madder a thick bearded person at the counter the atl arpt rental car was very nasty an very unprofessional stated that i was talking loud to him he dont know loud i asked was it a black thing women (blk) with attitude problems.. I rented a car on hot wire for 10.00 a day. Online it stated a KIA Rio or similiar so thats what I was expecting. So when I got there I checked out my car only to get outside and the guy gave me a smart car. IMA heavy set woman so I looked at the car and went right back in. I let him know I couldn't really fit in that smallcar let alone my 2 grand kids. He started giving me an attitude because I wanted something a little bigger. Long story short the guy was very rude about the whole situation. I ended up having to pay for that smartcar and for another car for an upgrade. I was not at all happy and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because of his poor customer service. Retraining for customer service is definitely needed!
If you are like you said a big woman why would you reserve an economy car? I have worked in rental car companies and one of the most annoying thing I encountered is a renter booking the smallest car available and expect to get upgraded for free when you know the size you booked was not going to accommodate your needs.

Returning car and having to wait in to lines i have already complained about getting the car now returning qas painful no ease at all...instructed that they wtote the wrong miles down that i qiukd have to go to the counter across the parking lot to check out...never again i am willing to pay extra for hertz..and the car was filthy and raggedy needed new brakes and sucked gas

I arrived at Las Vegas on the 03/27 with a reservation for a car at Payless . The agent " Danny " forced me to buy SLI although I am 100% sure that it is not mandatory and that all cars have LI included even in Nevada, but he insisted and continuously lied to me and treat as an idiot, I bought the SLI because I was tired and wanted to go to my hotel asap but I send a refund request and never got any answer.

Angry employee threatening us
i was threatened by a male employee was told to check myself in a threatening tone my friend had to go grab a business card to complain because i was scared then the male employee yanked the business cards from the table and kept yelling for my friend to leave until he called security we were unable to get a business card then the own manager of the hotel lobby came and he gave us one. my friend was filming him yell and yank the business cards so that we wouldnt complain about the fact that he told me to "better check myself" because we were nicely pleading if it were possible to pay 350 cash onstead of woth credit and after making us wait a bit the employee only came back with sayong go to this other place that charges 200. the slight exhaustion in my voice caused him to threaten me and get close to my female friend who filmed him and repeated push me so that he would remember to not do anything stupid. Please respond asap as i am waiting to file a police report if nothing happens. This hapoened around 9:30 pm at the Toronto Hotel crown plaza at the payless car rental little shop on the cornwr of the lobby (by the lester b. pearson airport)
