I find it quite appalling that customers who are wheelchair bound are pretty much discriminated against during the screening process.
To have shoes removed and then not returned, and a full pat down with no explanation was very disappointing to see. And when the wheelchair provided by the airport is screened down it becomes absurd.
Why, in 2022, are we not able to have a screen that is wide enough to accomodate for a wheelchair to go through? Not good enough Perth airport.
Desired outcome: An appropriate response to this, and changes implemented to allow those with mobility issues to be afforded the same treatment as those without.
Flight Cancellation 02/08/2022
I need the form to File for Compensation in not being able to fly back to work on 02/08/2022 from Terminal 1 Virgin Airlines Perth to Karratha Flight VA 1723 due to your Failure to provide Power backup to operate the airport. Western Power have stated they are not to blame for your Generator Failure. I am seeking the loss of 7.5 Hours of work at $55 per hour. $120 for taxi fares from the airport to Koondoola and return the next day 03/08/2022 to catch the rescheduled morning flight VA 1723 to Karratha, then a Bus to Pannawonica to go to work. So, you are the reason my flight was cancelled and I missed 7.5 hours of work, and was forced to get a taxi back to Koondoola where I was staying, and then back to the airport in the morning. Attached is my Payslip for this week, 52.5 hours, instead of 60 hours. I have one receipt for the taxi as I can't find the other one. As I don't have a car in Perth and usually rent cars from Burswood car rental in victoria Park.
So I am seeking a total of $532.50, I won't bother with the food and drinks bill, unless this ends up in a Civil Court. I would like this resolved as soon as possible and will not tolerate being screwed around. I expect by the end of this month to be compensated, or I will not hesitate to start a Civil Suit.

Desired outcome: Compensation for my losses and extra expenses.
Security staff at Perth Domestic Airport Terminal
My mum was travelling to Sydney from Perth this morning. She had a knee replacement done last year and she started beeping through the metal detector. The security staff member made her remove all her jewellery and other metal items, and then asked her if it was because of a knee replacement, he called another member to do a body check. My mother felt so violated for the fact that the woman had not left even one spot on her body untouched, including between her toes, despite explaining and crying in front of every passenger (~200). This is absolutely pathetic and unacceptable behaviour in dealing with individuals with such disabilities. There should be a better way of handling these situations to check such individuals. I am appalled at this behaviour for a first world country. To some extent, we wonder if there was a racial discriminatory aspect. My mother is crushed, heartbroken and ashamed. We are so disappointed with the treatment, another staff member had later told my mum that this was a regular occurrence with individuals with such medical conditions, which is unacceptable, from the private security team.
Desired outcome: At the very least, my mother should have been taken to a private room for a check. It is basic decency and respect to the passenger.
Traffic at drop off pick up lane
25 May 2022 at approximately 6.20pm I was in the lane to pick up my daughter. A car - white hatchback 1HBW865 stopped in front of me to pick up a passenger. They did not pull into the side area to pick up their passenger, holding up all the traffic behind me too.
The man, wearing a knee length dark coat, with short grey hair, proceeded to put his luggage in the boot, which did annoy me.
When a woman, with long dark hair, got out of the back left side door & they hugged each other, rather than him get in the car to leave, I pressed my horn.
They both looked at me and I raised my hand in the air, gesturing for them to move, the man started to walk towards me in the drivers seat, verbally abusing me. I couldn’t hear the words he was using as my radio was on, but I felt he was trying to intimidate me. I yelled at him to get moving and not block the traffic any further. If a man walking past had not said something to him, I believe he may have continued to my car to further abuse and intimidate me. He eventually got in the car and they left.
Desired outcome: More security staff to ensure people use the area correctly and to prevent any other people behaving in a threatening manner. And if required, access to security camera footage, as I intend to lodge a complaint with police.
Security staff at international departure hall
On 2 April, Sunday, around 4:10 to 4:20pm. I was getting off the phone around the departure area where the passports are being scanned - after being notified by staffs that phones are not allowed in the area. I wasn’t aware and might have passed a sign but just as I was about to hang up, a security personnel stormed towards me and kept yelling at me “put your phone away or I will take it away from you.” He also yelled “if you don’t want to lose your phone, hang up right now” as a small framed lady who is travelling alone, I felt unsafe, especially because I am in a foreign country and just want to get home. So instead of getting into a conflict with him and getting myself barred from my flight, I did not have any further interaction from him. I do think that his actions are over the line. Is this because I am a small framed lady that he thinks he can treat me like this? If I were a grown bigger size man, would he have done the same? I do not think that the situation warrants that level of yelling and threat. He is the only Asian guy wearing spectacles during that timing. The rest of the crew has been helpful and pointed me in the right direction. This is very unpleasant memory to bring back with me about Perth. He could have controlled his temper and handled the situation better, I am not sure if he was having a bad day but he should not vent it on anyone else. It is a situation that is very easy to handle but he can’t even do that well. Please look into this matter, if he is not able to control his temper, one day someone might get hurt when he loses it.
Yes, this is same man who yelled at me today while I was waiting for my daughter. He needs to undergo further training about how to handle the passengers with respect.
Yes some sercurity guys at the international departure hall need to has more education and manner. The airport and the goverment need to make sure their behavior is not representation for our people and our country.
Security personnel terminal 2 domestic airport
At approximately 0555 Friday 25 February 2022 I was proceeding through the security screening, the x-ray machine closest to the baggage claim area.
My hand carry bag/computer lap top back pack was pulled aside after going though the machine. The two trays containing my laptop, note book, novel and reading glasses proceeded on without incident.
I was informed that they (security personal) needed to "declutter" my bag. My bag was opened by a female security staff member without permission or my consent.
I asked this person what she was looking for. I am a regular traveler through this airport and have never had issues with my bag in the past. The bag contained exactly what it usually does every time I fly from this airport terminal, approximately every 2 weeks.
The other 2 machines I have previously used have had no issues scanning my bag. I am at a lose as to why this identical machine was unable to scan my bag without incident.
The female security persons response was that she needed to "declutter" my bag.
I asked for my bag so that I could remove the contents. This reasonable request was refused. She then stated that she was required to remove my personal item from my bag. She refused to allow me to do this and stated that "if you want to fly today you will let me do this, I am only doing my job".
This is an invasion of privacy. She had no warrant to search my bag without consent. She had no grounds to suspect that there were prohibited items in my bag, which there were none.
I asked her what she was looking for, once again I received the answer that she needed to "declutter" my bag.
"Declutter my bag of what"?
Items in my bag were removed without consent and some of those items were then placed on a tray and re-scanned. Other items were lifted out of the backpack and then returned to the bag. She placed her hand in one pocket of the bag and moved the items in the bag around while she had a frown on her face.
She removed a smaller bag from the backpack and opened this bag, placed her hand inside both pockets and rummaged around inside the bag. She saw my wallet in this bag and turned the wallet then opened it to look inside my wallet.
She then looked at me and stated that I was swearing at her while I had been standing placidly watching her with my face mask on. At this time I had not said anything else since asking for my bag and being refused that request.
I believe that she was trying to escalate the encounter so that she could refuses me boarding of my flight!
I was then directed to stand in front of the perspex partition which allows a view of what she is doing however there were already 2 people there repacking their bags and putting on clothing that was removed to access the building.
If I had of moved to this location my view of what she was doing inside my bag would have been obscured. This may have been her intent so that she could access my wallet again. The implication of this are staggering.
I was standing at the end of the inspection area where there in no partition but there is a solid bench which is used by security to check someones bag.
Due to the state of Western Australia's mandated social distancing requirements which were in place at that time for all indoor venues, I was standing the required distance from other patrons in the area. I was not able to comply with her directive to move to where she had instructed me to stand. She was not at all happy that I would not push other people out of the way to stand where I was directed or to stand where my view of her activities would have been obscured.
Surely this person should be made aware of the mandated requirements and not breach local laws, policy and procedure.
My bag and the items removed from my bag without consent were then re-scanned. This person then pointed at me and then my re-scanned belongings indicating that I was to collect my personal effect and repack my bag.
No items were confiscated or seized. No items that are not permitted to fly were located in my belongings.
I believe that this person was on a power trip and deliberately and intentionally violated my rights in conducting this unlawful search of my bag and property. There was no justification in her conducting this unlawful activity. There was no justification to accuse someone of swearing when they were not. There was no justification for this person trying to escalate the encounter.
I feel that her actions were racially motivated? I feel that this person was on a power trip.
Desired outcome: I would like a genuine apology. This person should be better trained and supervised before being permitted to interact with people of the public in the future.
There website states that they will get back to in two working days. Well after 2 working days, these people have not bothered to get back to me. It would appear that they condone this sort of behavior from their security staff. Very disappointed in how this complaint was handled!
Security
On Wednesday the 13th of October 2021 I went through the T2 screening area. I'm a young 26 year old female fifo worker it was just before 6am so the lines were big and a lot of fifo flights around (majority males). I had left a shifter in my bag which I was more than happy for the guy to take out as I completely forgot it was in there in doing this which took atleast 10minutes the airport security continued to empty the contents of my bag I had asked him multiple times if he wanted me to find it he replied with no. He then decided it was a good idea to take out all my underwear and bras which when I confronted him with this saying hey are you alright that's my underwear he said nothing and continued to pull more out. I was extremely embarrassed to the point I was about to grab my belongings and not catch the flight. This was extremely inappropriate and inconsiderate. This could of atleast been done discreetly without flashing the whole airport and work colleagues my underwear. I work for bhp and the whole 6 years of fifo have never experienced anything like this before. Coming through the airport it was the far left lane just before 6am I was in my uniform this should all be on cameras I would hate for it to happen to another female.
Desired outcome: A follow up
Biases enforcement of wearing a face mask outside of terminal 2
At approximately 0545 hrs Friday 18 June 2021 I was rudely instructed to put on a face mask by the supervise of the people manning the passenger vetting lines outside the front of terminal 2.
There was a large group of people outside of this terminal in the smoking area, none had a face mask on, all were on airport grounds.
I believe that the terminal is under federal jurisdiction and as such people are only required to wear a face mask upon entering the terminal however if it comes under state jurisdiction and anyone entering the airport grounds are required to wear a face mask, then all persons should have been directed to wear a face mask, not one person singled out.
Why is it that smokers are exempt from this persons wrath and other people are singled out for verbal abuse by this individual.
I am convinced that this is an abuse of authority, position and power!
The announcements over the terminals speakers advise that anyone entering the terminal are required to wear a face mask.
This message states that only people inside the terminal must war face masks. Is this the case or is it for all people on the airport grounds inside the terminal and outside the terminal too
There is no mention of any requirements that a face mask is to be worn while on the airport premises and adjacent areas.
If it is a requirement that all persons upon airport grounds must wear a face mask then it should be uniformly enforced and not single out individuals for discriminate verbal abuse
Desired outcome: Clarification of where face masks must be worn on airport grounds. Requirements enforced unilaterally not biased or for the purpose of discrimination of individuals
website for directions to Terminal 1 Domestic flights
I have spent some time trying to find the directions to Terminal 1, domestic flights. No problem for Terminal 2 or Terminal 4 but nothing to show how to get to Terminal 1. Is this a secret? How can we see where to go when the maps do not show Terminal 1? Do we wait until we are in heavy traffic on Tonkin Highway, cause a crash and then find where we should be going?
Desired outcome: Explicit directions to the separate terminals seem as so domestic flights are made from all terminals
Fantastic furniture
I ordered a double bed and a double bed mattress to be sent from Fantastic Furniture from Brisbane over two weeks ago.. The bed arrived on the 18th of February.. I asked where the mattress was and was told it would probably be here the next day.. On the internet, the tracking went up to the 22nd of February and said it was going to perth.. Then since then nothing has shown up.. I am angry as the service is shocking.. I cant even track as to where it is.. The order number is [protected] and the tracking number was Z1001885.. Parking fees
Dropped off my guest yesterday at terminal 2. She had 5 bags so needed a trolley. Trolley dispenser out of service with sign posted over the control panel. No alternatives. My guest then went looking for 15 min inside the terminal to find a trolley. I could not leave the car as this is prohibited in the drop off area. She finally found one and I then drove off only to find I had to pay $6 due to delay - caused by your non functioning trolley dispenser. This is very poor treatment of customers
I went to Terminal 2 last night at about 9pm.
My pick up was not there so I drove straight around and came to the gates and had to pay $6.00 to go around as you are only allowed 5 minutes. That is a rip off.
Fees
On wednesday 21st oct 2020 I went to drop my daughter of at terminal 2, she was booked to fly to brisbane. I pulled up in my car at the departure area where I said good bye and drove of. As there was a lot of traffic moving very slowly I didn't think much of it when I finally realised after a 5 minutes in the traffic line, that they had installed boom gates. When it was finally my turn at the gates, it refused to open. Upon a closer look at the payment machine it told me I owed $6.00. This is a disgrace that I waited longer in the line then I did to drop my passenger off, I tried to speak to the help line and got no response so I paid just to get out of there as the line of cars behind me was growing. They have set that system up to get as much revenue as possible from the public without recourse. No other airport in australia has done this to my knowledge. I tried to contact perth airport via the webpage but to no avail as there is no way of making a complaint on that website.
There were no signs posted as I entered the terminal to tell me that I only had 5 minutes to exit or a charge will occur. I took me more than that trying to get to the exit gates. How is that justified if it is not plain revenue raising buy way of fraud. I have no receipt as I used a credit card and did not get a receipt.

My cousin family arrived to perth 21.12.19 and she declared everythings but the family got treatment from perth custom officer is very poorly. I had been living here for 30 years an Australian whom shock to heard how they got treated. As family come to perth for holiday to see family here, custom officer should welcoming. My cousin's come here and declared every thing she supposed to which she does but still custom officer Andrew ( tall fella with bald head) threatened the family and fine them $ 840 . Not very happy at all, not talking about fine but how disrespect the treatment he did. I'm sure this is not acceptable.
Still waiting for baggage almost 1 hr after plane has landed. Unacceptable!
FRIDAY 13 October 2023, QF651, 10.50pm
Luggage handling after flights landed is ridiculously slow. Latest example is flight QF1229 of 22June. Flight already removed from baggage claim board, and 40 min after landing still waiting.

I tried to buy a tonic water to drink and socialise with friends who were drinking
No deal!
Apparently tonic water can only be sold as a mixer
Tough luck if you don't drink alcohol
First time I've been to a bar and not been able to buy a tonic water
