I would like to file a report regarding my bad experience at Terminal 4 International Immigration Clearance on 25/11/23, at 11.20am. There were two Indian officers, one female and one male who were literally showing really very bad attitude to us during our clearance at the counter. The incident happened when we didn’t realise the two bottles of honey we brought are not allowed, so my husband went back, trying to check in the items. However, we did not have the proper bag to store the honey, therefore he came back to us and the officer asked him to surrender the honey. I tried to talk to Qantas staff and she friendly reminded me I can do so, so I went back again to check in my items. However the guard said we already agreed to surrender the items and he has thrown the items as well. He even lied and said that my husband called me before throwing it. I tried to ask him nicely whether I can take back the honey and check in, but he didn’t allow it and showing me the bad face. His face was very frustrated when I tried to explain to him. The bad thing was when my hubby tried to check in the items, the guard didn’t show him where to check in the honey and left my husband there alone. The male guard showed very unfriendly face and we really feel disappointed for the bad treatment. If he explained to us clearly at the beginning, we will try to find a proper bag to check in and didn’t end up like this.
Claimed loss: $100
Desired outcome: Improvement of the international clearance service.
