I bought 2 packs on 11/11/2017 and they were harsh, stale! I've been buying these for years, never had I ever gotten any like that! I went and bought a different brand. This is really disheartening for me, as I have smoked this brand for many years. I work hard to purchase and please my self . I'm not sure if I want to buy these again in case of the same situation.

third hand smoke removal
Dear Customer Service helper:
My wife and I have been satisfied cigarette smokers for many years. We are giving our automobile to our grandson who recently got his drivers license. His parents don't want him to accept the gift and use the car because of the lingering cigarette smoke smell in the car. They say it's third hand smoke and it poses a risk to him.
Is there some way to effectively, safely and conveniently remove the smoke smell and residue so the car doesn't retain the smoke smell and pose any risk to my grandson? His parents are concerned that the cure may even be worse...

Apple Valley, California has cashiers that will not accept your manufacturer coupons. Also they set their own prices for cigarettes that varies by customer. I have dozens of receipts where one day I was charged one price and then a different price the next day. When I confronted the cashier about this he became irate and I have not returned nor will I be buying Marlboro products from this point on. The coupons are a hit or miss when you try to use them and the prices from store to store can vary by up to two dollars a pack. For instance this particular store I mentioned advertises a price of 6.42 per pack when you buy two but ring you up for $15.00 for two packs and subtract .50 cents for a promotional deal. Last month they were charging me 12.98 for two packs. The price never changes on the window but it certainly does at the register. At this rate they are making a pretty good profit at the customers expense by using your coupons prices but charging their own prices. They also won't honor my coupons and have told me that the coupon won't work because I already got a promo deal they advertised themselves. It is obvious they skim the money themselves and this was even admitted to me that they do that by another employee. If you could not get a handle on it and the consumer suffers the best way to end it is to look for another brand sold by your competitor at a better price than your supposed discount branded cigarettes. This is not exclusive to this particular store either. The only one that has honored the price and coupon was Walmart. I'll advise my family and friends to invest in British American Tobacco brand cigarettes. Pall Mall was my original brand anyway. Marlboro enticed me with coupons that ultimately failed.

Please could you explain this? If I wanted B and H Gold, I would have purchased such.

The cigarettes I have purchased over the past several months have been unsatisfactory. The cigarette goes out if you aren't constantly smoking it. If you are smoking and, for example, you go wash your hands. When you go to take another drag it is out. If I relight it, the cigarette flames up and I have to blow it out. The cigarettes are also stale. When I travel through Missouri I stock up on cartons of Marlboro Red Label 100s because they are much cheaper than here in Illinois. I thought maybe that was why they were stale. Not the case. When I started buying them here again, stale. I am getting to the point where I may have to find another brand. I have been smoking Marlboro brand for over 30 years and am so dissatisfied and disappointed with the current quality of this product. Why is this happening? Is it something that will be remedied? Smoking for me is supposed to be enjoyable but it no longer is with your product. I would really appreciate a response. Thank you for your time.

I've been smoking Marlboro Red for over 20 years which I really enjoyed. However, in the past 2 years or so I've noticed that the quality of the cigarettes has changed.
Some of the changes I noticed is that whilst smoking the cigarettes the ash just falls down although not much was smoked causing my carpets at home and office getting dirty and more importantly getting burnt. I just overlooked it but now it's gone out of hand. I also, on numerous occasions, noticed the every so often the pack is damaged and the cigarettes were broken.
Furthermore, last week I purchased 10 cartons from Makro Springfield Park, Durban, Siuth Africa. I noticed that the packaging wasn't the same. On enquiry of this with the guy that served me at Makro, he informed me that the packaging has changed. When I got home I opened a pack and noticed that it wasn't the original Red Marlboro.
I tried contacting your offices several times, (both the Cape Town and Johannesburg) and each time I called the Cape Town office I was told that they will get someone to assist me and the call was transferred only to be cut. This happened each time. I tried calling again and I was told that they can't assist me and that I needed to contact the Johannesburg office. However, when I called the same thing happened.
I cannot believe the service I received, especially from a large company. I am really disappointed with this as I never expected this level of service to a loyal customer for over 20 years.
Can anyone assist me in resolving this query? If not, then I know I will stop smoking Marlboro and smoke another brand.

I smoke Marlboro Red Label 100's and my husband smokes Marlboro Black Label Kings and we both are having the same issues. I have smoked a variety of Marlboros and have found that all of them have these issues. The 3 main issues we have are:
1.) The Cherry always falls off near the end of the cigarette and sometimes even the middle.
2.) The cigarette randomly goes out for no reason.
3.) There have been sticks and/or tears and cuts through the paper making some cigarettes unsmokable.
Now I understand that that issue #2 ( randomly goes out) is to help prevent fires by making the cigarettes go out when not being continuously smoked but this does not work all the time and even when it is being continuously smoked they tend to go out anyway.
Issue # 1 (cherries falling off) is my biggest complaint because considering they are trying to help prevent accidental fires, the cherries falling off defeats that purpose and causes more accidental fires, burns, and holes in clothing, furniture, etc. So whats the point? Every Marlboro does this every time it gets near the end so its not a fluke or it only happens sometimes. It happens EVERY TIME. This is irritating and costly.
Issue #3 (stick, tears, holes, cuts, etc) I have found these issues in more than 1 pack of cigarettes recently. I have even had a pack that had 3 cigarettes with tears in the paper that looked like they were cut by a razor blade and in the same pack I had 2 cigarettes with tears due to big sticks in the cigarettes. What happened to the quality? Where is quality control? As much as a pack of Marlboros cost every single cigarette should be smokable period. When I pay for a pack of 20 cigarettes I want to smoke ALL 20.
These are my biggest complaints and I'm sure there are tons of smokers who can relate and feel the same way as I do.
Please get your $**t together Marlboro! It is not a lack of funds that is preventing you to put out quality cigarettes.

On this day, April 19, 2017, I have seen the notice on the lawsuit. I was not informed of the matter in any other way. I was wanting to claim my part in the settlement, I believe this is only fair since in no other way was I informed. It should not be up to the consumer to keep an eye out for news on the products that we use, it should be your responsibility to get the information out to those in which it applies to. I've been a Marlboro light cigarette user since the age of 19 and am 39 now. For 20 years I've enjoyed your product, but completely unaware of this class action lawsuits. I hope to receive a reply from your administration. If not then I will file my own lawsuit and I'm sure since the first action was ruled in favor of the plaintiff, myself and 20 or thirty friends that use your products will see you in court. I don't normally make these kinds of complaints. However, my husband and I recently purchased 4 packs of your L&M full flavor (red) 100's and each pack had at least one flawed cigarette in it. We normally smoke USA Gold's, but thought we would try out your product. Unfortunately, at least three of the cigarettes had holes in them. One cigarette was torn/ripped when I pulled it out of the pack. The hard packs were not damaged, wrinkled, or squished. It is clearly a factory mistake. If there is some way we could be compensated for this, it would be greatly appreciated, as we feel a bit ripped off by the company. Cigarettes are not cheap so we expect to have full use of the product that we buy.

Hi, I have just returned from a trip to Cape York Peninsula Australia and I would like to provide some feedback in regards to your product. I have smoked Peter Jackson Gold for many years and I have never experienced such a poor product. Before embarking on a 4 wheel drive trip from Cairns to the tip of cape York I purchased a carton of Peter Jackson Gold from Mareeba super iga which I intended to last me the entire trip as I assumed the cost would be high the further up we travelled. The first packet was fine however all subsequent packets were unsmokable, they had a chemical/menthol taste that was offensive, further to this they did not burn and required reigniting frequently. As these cigarettes were not fit to smoke I was forced to purchase another carton from Bamaga supermarket and was charged $260! Cigarettes are rediculously expensive as it is but this is absolutely obscene! I can provide serial numbers and a copy of the purchase receipt if required. I look forward to hearing from you in respect to an explanation and what compensation you will provide for the inconvenience and financial loss I have suffered as a result of this batch of cigarettes. I have been smoking these cigarettes for the past 5 years, for the past three the product has been absolutely awful. Weak, pathetic tasting cigarettes which give no satisfaction at all. I have complained to philip morris uk, where I live, but to no avail. They tested the product and said there was no problem. But there definitely is. Think I deserve a refund, and I would like them to pull their socks up and start producing proper cigarettes.

The reason might be how those cigarettes you bought were stored. Also, even if you buy perfectly "good" cigarettes, and you don't smoke them for let's say 2 weeks, and than you take one, it will be bad.

We bought a carton of L&M Menthol Bold 100 cigarettes. Every 4th cigarette falls apart right about the filter. I've burnt my car, and almost gotten into a reck when the cigarette fell apart, landing on my lap. I burnt the floor, the seat, my blankets in bed. I almost caught myself on fire while cuddling in bed with my blankets watching a movie. You don't stare at you cigarette while smoking, so until I went to take the next drag, and saw only filter, I didn't even know...
