Disappointing Experience with Planterina: Overpriced Plants and Poor Quality Packaging
I was pretty surprised when I saw the prices for the plants on Planterina's website. They offer a deal where you can get 1/2 off if you buy two or more plants, but even with that discount, the prices are still pretty steep. I figured I'd give it a shot since it's hard to find these kinds of plants elsewhere. But when my order arrived, I was disappointed to see that the plants were tiny and definitely not worth the price I paid.
To make matters worse, I had some trouble with the packaging. I reached out to customer service and they sent me a video to watch, but it was no help at all. I eventually had to just force my way through the packaging to get to the plants. And when I finally did, I was hoping for something more impressive. The soil was covered in some kind of weird substance that I couldn't identify, and when I tried to water the plants, the water just ran off the surface. I'm not sure what this stuff is or why it's there, but I'm going to have to remove it and hope that it doesn't damage the plants.
Overall, I'm pretty unhappy with my experience with Planterina. The prices are too high for what you get, and the packaging and plant quality leave a lot to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone looking for quality plants at a reasonable price.
Disappointing Experience with Planterina: Delayed Shipping and Wrong Delivery Address
I recently made my first ever purchase from Planterina, ordering 3 plants in each of my 2 orders on 9/10/22. According to the website, the plants were supposed to ship within 2-5 business days. However, I was disappointed to find that my orders did not ship within this timeframe. After waiting for ample time and not receiving any updates on my orders, I reached out to Planterina on 9/18/22 to inquire about the delay. It had been almost 2 weeks since I placed my order and I was eager to receive my plants.
To my relief, I received a response from Planterina explaining that they were short-staffed but working hard to fulfill orders. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait a little longer. Finally, I received notification that my orders had shipped and I was excited to receive them. However, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I woke up to a delivery scan in North Branch Minnesota on the day my plants were supposed to arrive (9/22/22). I live in Arizona, so it was clear that there had been a mistake.
I contacted UPS and confirmed that the delivery had been made to the wrong address. Frustrated and disappointed, I immediately requested a refund on both of my orders. Now, I am left without my plants and out of money while I wait for the return to go through.
I had high hopes for Planterina, especially after watching the professionalism of Amanda on YouTube. However, my experience with the company was far from satisfactory. I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order. The only positive thing I can say is that when I requested a refund, they promptly processed it. I can only assume that this is a common occurrence.
As someone who doesn't typically write negative reviews, I was surprised at the careless process and execution of my order. I won't be ordering from Planterina again. If their shipping process is this terrible, I am concerned about the quality of the plants I would have received.
Fantastic Experience with Planterina: High-Quality Plants and Expert Advice
Honestly, when I first stumbled upon the reviews for Planterina, I was a bit hesitant to make a purchase. However, I have been following Planterina's YouTube channel for about a year now and have been impressed with her knowledge and advice on plant care. As someone who has had some not-so-great experiences with purchasing plants online in the past, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering from Planterina. Shipping plants can be a traumatic experience for them, and I have had some plants struggle for months before showing any signs of improvement. Despite this, I decided to take a chance and order from Planterina because I was looking for some rare Calathea variations that I couldn't find locally.
I am happy to report that my experience with Planterina was fantastic. My plants arrived in just three days and were in gorgeous, full, and healthy condition. I have had them for a week now, and they seem to be adjusting just fine. I understand that some people may have had negative experiences with this seller, but I personally am very satisfied with my purchase and would definitely consider buying from Planterina again if I can't find what I'm looking for locally.
I have to say, though, that I was a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews I saw on here. It's important to remember that shipping plants can be a tricky business, and sometimes things can go wrong that are out of the seller's control. Additionally, plants are living things, and sometimes they just don't thrive in certain environments. It's not necessarily the seller's fault if a plant doesn't do well after being shipped.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Planterina to anyone looking for high-quality plants. While I understand that some people may have had negative experiences, I personally had a great experience and would definitely consider buying from this seller again in the future.
Disappointing Experience with Planterina: Overpriced, Unresponsive, and Poor Quality Plants
I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with Planterina. The prices are way too high for what you get, and the service is slow and unresponsive. And don't even get me started on the quality of the plants they ship out. I mean, what's the point of all that fancy packaging if you're just gonna send out garbage?
I ordered a Callisia plant, and when I took off the coconut coir topper, I found a sad, soggy mess of a plant with rotting stems. And the Elaine plant had zero roots - I mean, come on! And the string of turtles was limp and dropping leaves left and right. I'm not holding out much hope for that one.
I tried emailing the seller, but no response. So I'm gonna have to do a chargeback through my credit card company. Honestly, I hope this business goes under - they clearly don't care about their customers. All they want is your money.
If you're looking for a better online nursery, I'd recommend Plant Proper. Sure, I've had some duds from them too, but they're always super responsive and quick to refund or offer discounts on future purchases. And their prices are much more reasonable.
So yeah, I'd say skip Planterina. They're overpriced, unresponsive, and they ship out small, subpar, dying plants. Save your money and go somewhere else.
Planterina Review: Disappointing Plant Size, Poor Tracking, and Customer Service that Doesn't Care
I gotta say, I've bought a good number of plants over at Planterina. And I should be loving life, right? But I've noticed something that gets my goat. The plants on their website seem huge and grandiose, but when they arrive at my door, they're way smaller! It makes me feel like they're tricking me. And to top it off, their tracking system is wack. I can never tell when my babies are gonna show up!
But listen, I ain't one to complain. I'm pretty chill. But when I got my latest delivery, a fiddle leaf fig, and it was all kinds of busted, I lost my cool. I hit up their customer service, but they took days to reply! And when they finally did, they said it was damaged from the cold and they'd only give me $9. But here's the kicker: I dropped $50 to get that plant. And now it's probably gonna die 'cause they messed up.
I don't know about y'all, but when I buy something from a store that specializes in shipping plants, I expect it to get to me in one piece. I wouldn't recommend this company. They don't seem to care about their customers or the quality of their products. You're better off going somewhere else.
Disappointing experience with planterina.com - Dead "Free" Plants & Poor Customer Support
Hey guys, I recently tried out planterina.com and will share my experience with ya! Alright, so like some of the other folks leaving reviews here, I was unlucky and got some dead plants too. It was a bummer to get two dead Hoyas as part of a promotion where I had to spend at least 50 bucks to get two free plants. When I reached out to their customer support on the website, they told me that they can't refund me or give me replacement because the Hoyas were the "free" plants. Bummer, huh? It was kinda weird that the "free" ones were dead and the rest was alright though. The rest were kinda teeny-tiny, but good enough to stay alive - fortunately!
Honestly, I used to really enjoy watching some of Amanda's videos before and felt like she's a cool person. But this experience just left a pretty bad taste in my mouth - to have your plants come dead, and to get no assistance from the company, it's just not how ya do it. I'm all about supporting people who inspire me, but this time around, I can't bring myself to back her.
Now, I read some of the positive reviews around here and I gotta say it just doesn't match up with what I experienced. Y'all should be aware that there's a reason why the bad reviews seem to have similar complaints. Dead plants, non rooted cuttings, customer service leaving something to be desired - these themes pop up again and again.
In conclusion, I was bummed out by the service I got from planterina.com and would not recommend it. Sad, cuz I was really excited to try em out!
Mixed feelings on Planterina: Good quality plants but recent issues with shipping and heat packs
I recently got into plants more because Covid had me inside and medical issues weren't helping. I have ordered a lot of small sizes from Planterina and for the most part, I've been happy with what I've received. Lately though, things haven't been going as smoothly. This winter especially, I've received some damaged plants that were super wet. The company did credit my credit card, but the inconvenience has started to get on my nerves. I do appreciate the free shipping though. However, now they're charging for heat packs which is something other companies don't do. Maybe ordering during the winter in the Northeast isn't the best idea. I've started ordering less from them these past few months. I've also noticed that "Amanda" is pushing specific plants a lot lately to try and get more business. It might be working for the company, but it's not okay for quality and reliability to slip. I've started looking into other plant companies to give my business to, which is unfortunate because I did like Planterina.
Great Experience with Planterina: Secure Packaging, Healthy Plants, and Timely Delivery
I recently got my hands on a couple of calatheas Orbifolia and Lancifolia from Planterina and boy, I can't seem to wipe the smile off my face! The package came through my door and I was thrilled with the level of security that covered the pots. The pots were securely placed in cardboard boxes that prevented any damage during transit. Also, the plants were secured with sleeves and stakes, ensuring that the plants do not get squished en route. Not only that, but the outer cardboard box also had a label that indicated "live plants," so delivery people know to handle them with care. Plus, they included a care card for calathea, which was very helpful.
When I finally unwrapped the plants, I was delighted to see that they were in tip-top shape. There was virtually no soil disturbance, adding to the already excellent condition of my purchases. For only being 4 in pots, there was a sizeable amount of plant in them.
As per the website's FAQ page, the order arrived within its specified timeframe of 3-5 business days. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. Although, to be honest, I could have saved a bit of cash had I gone to the local nursery, but supporting Amanda and Lauren's work was something I just could not pass up. I've been following Amanda's YouTube channel for some time now and to be able to support her and Lauren's endeavors with Planterina is a real treat.
Overall, I had an amazing experience with Planterina, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It was incredibly easy to order, plus the packaging was secure, and the shipping times were right on point, as promised on the website. Big thumbs up to Planterina for providing such a fantastic experience!
Disappointing Experience with Planterina: Buy One Get Two Free Offer
So, I checked out Planterina's site and gotta say, it's not worth the expense. But, 'cause I like Amanda's vidjas and they advertised a deal, I gave it a try with a buy one get two free offer. It ended up costing about the same as getting three plants elsewhere, so I was like, why not? (aka $20 a plant versus $60 for one and two [protected]@ Planterina). Anyways, after a long wait, I got my order and it's not superstar material. The freebie plants were WAY tinier than what was pictured and one of them was almost destroyed. I contacted them and they said they couldn't do anything about it since it was part of the promotion. It's kinda sus that the one I paid for was awesome and bigger than advertised, but these two weren't so great. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. At this point, I'm thinking I'm gonna pass on shopping there again.
Disappointing Experience with Planterina: My String of Hearts Arrived in Bad Shape, but Customer Service Lacked Accountability
So, I was really excited to receive my XL string of hearts plant from Planterina, but unfortunately, it arrived in pretty bad shape. It had been soaked with water prior to shipping, and then spent a couple of days in a dark and cold box, which ended up causing the succulent to lose all of its leaves. I was pretty devastated when I opened the box, but I decided to reach out to Planterina via email to see if there was anything that could be done.
Unfortunately, I didn't get much help. After my initial email, I did receive one response from Planterina with a suggestion to place the plant near a light source to hopefully help it recover. But when I replied saying that I didn't think it was worth the effort for the price I paid, I didn't get any response back at all. I was left feeling pretty disappointed and uncertain about why Planterina had such great reviews.
In the end, I decided to post a review on Google sharing my experience with Planterina. To my surprise, the business responded quickly with a full refund, though they never actually admitted any wrongdoing. Google's response was also somewhat underwhelming, with a generic apology for my experience. To be honest, it was hard to believe that the shop owner, who is well-known in the plant community, would think that this dying plant could actually recover, especially since I paid a decent amount for it.
Overall, I have to say that I was disappointed with my experience with Planterina. I was really looking forward to receiving a healthy and beautiful plant, but instead I got something pretty sad-looking. I even included some pictures with my initial email, which I'll share here too. Although I did get a refund, the lack of response and accountability from Planterina left a bad taste in my mouth.
Disappointing customer service and damaged plants: My experience with Planterina.com
I recently received my order from Planterina.com after placing it on September 14, and I have to say, it was quite the wait. However, when my 4 plants finally arrived yesterday, I was over the moon with excitement to open them up and see my new additions.
Sadly, my excitement was short-lived as the first plant I unpackaged was in terrible condition. It was a Hoya and it was the most waterlogged, slimy and pitiful plant I have ever seen. I was so disappointed, and immediately took pictures of the poor thing and sent an email to the address listed on the website. They boast on their site that they handle returns on a "case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of making our customers happy."
When they finally responded to my email, my heart sank even further. The email was terribly lacking in customer service and it was the most pathetic response I have ever seen. It simply read, "Thank you for sending pictures. We are sorry to see this plant had a rough trip. We suggest placing it in a spot with lots of bright indirect light.
We are sorry, but we are unable to offer a replacement for plants that were a free offer that are damaged in shipping per the offer."
No apologies, no recompense, no offer to make things right. Nothing to make me want to order from them again. Even though the plant was "free with a $50 purchase", I was still quite disappointed. I only purchased the small, price-gouged calatheas because the free Hoya was such a nice incentive. Spent a whopping $50 and got more disappointment than anything.
I would recommend that you take your plant purchasing money elsewhere and avoid Planterina.com.
Buyer Beware: Planterina's Plants Don't Match Online Photos
A lot of people I know, including myself, have made a handful of orders from Planterina. However, their recent shipments have not been measuring up to what they show online. The plants they've shipped to me are much smaller than what was depicted on the website. I ordered an expensive XL string of bananas plant, but what I received was such a let down. For a whopping $150, the plant was hardly visible. It was nothing like the picture they had displayed on their product page. I decided to email them to request a reimbursement.
Although my previous orders were small too, they were not as disappointing as this one. But now, it's so over the top that I can't imagine not complaining. Unfortunately, this means that I have to end my relationship with Planterina. The plants they shipped were so much smaller than advertised that I had to give up on them.
Fast forward to 11 days post-delivery, the plant is nearly dead. But my care for the plant has been good and I can't seem to figure out the problem. I finally decided to repot it and check its soil, and that's when I realized the issue. The plant was sick and had almost no root system left. Clearly, they must have cut back the sick roots and dead plant just before sending it out in a bid to quickly repot it.
I took the matter up with customer service, but they were not much help. They could only provide a 50% refund, which was still considered a disappointment, considering how much I paid for the plant. In most instances, Nurseries stand by their products and would have probably done more than just provide a refund.
I continued my conversation with Planterina and after a couple back and forths, I was finally able to secure a full refund. I must say that I was quite pleased and relieved to have gotten a full refund. It showed that they were willing to make things right for their customers.
Mixed Experience with Planterina: Stunning Plants and Reasonable Prices, but Poor Customer Service and Refund Issues
I'm here to share some words about Planterina, an online plant retailer that I've gotten several beauties from. Their plants are really stunning - and the prices reasonable. Plus, you can't beat free shipping. That being said, I had a bit of a hiccup with my last order, and it wasn't all sunshine and roses.
You see, the plant I had my heart set on sold out, which is understandable, but then my order was cancelled out of the blue. Okay, alright, these things happen. However, the real issue began when I checked my bank account and saw no refund deposit. Yikes!
After waiting several days for the money to appear, I reached out to Planterina's support team to ask when I could expect the refund in my account. Their response was to tell me the refund had been issued on May 4th, and that I could contact my bank to verify. But I checked with my bank and found no trace of the refund, no pending transactions, nothing.
I was starting to get worried - hadn't I read somewhere that an issue like this could take days to resolve? So I wrote back to Planterina but every time I got a reply it was like talking to a brick wall. They kept saying the same thing over and over, and I never did hear back from anyone who could actually help me with my refund.
This whole situation was really frustrating. It's not like Planterina had a physical address online or on their site. I couldn't even file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau - convenient for them, huh? I thought it was impossible to get my refund, but public shaming works wonders, people! As soon as I posted my review, voila - my money showed up. Although, I think my refund kind of shows that they're genuinely sorry.
Even so, I don't think I'll be doing business with Planterina again, not after this experience. To top it all off, each of the three plants I ordered eventually bit the dust - I don't know if they rushed to ship them or what, but they didn't last long.
So, word to the wise: Be careful with who you buy from online. It might only take one bad experience to learn that lesson.
Mixed Experience with Planterina: Review of Hoya and Philodendron Purchases
I'm not quite sure what to think about Planterina - my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag. So, I decided to order an XL Hoya Linearis and Large Philodendron Micans back in November. When the plants finally arrived, I was pretty disappointed with the state of the Hoya - it had been damaged by the cold and was looking pretty frail, with a bunch of leaves that had dropped off. The Micans didn't look great either, but I figured I could salvage it. So, I reached out to Planterina to request a refund on the linearis (since it was pretty pricey) and they offered to replace it and ship it out to me quickly (within 3 days). I agreed, thinking maybe the faster shipping would help prevent any further damage from the cold.
Well, the replacement plant did arrive - but it wasn't expedited, like they promised. It took 5 days to get to me, which was a bit frustrating. On top of that, the Micans had gotten even worse - it seemed to have been damaged by the cold as well. Planterina offered to replace that plant too, and said they would send me a "large" one this time (which confused me, since I thought that's what I had ordered in the first place?). This new plant did arrive in 3 days, which was great, but the package was damp and cool, which didn't bode well for the health of the plant. As it turns out, this new Micans is also starting to look kind of frail and unhealthy, just like the first one.
So, I'm left with one healthy Hoya Linearis, and three plants that aren't looking so great. Throughout all of this, Planterina was responsive and willing to help - they refunded me for the Micans, which I appreciated. But, at this point, I'm not sure if I'd recommend them or order from them again. If they had three-day shipping as their standard, maybe I'd give them another chance. But, I'm pretty hesitant to order any sensitive plants from them in the future - the thin-leaved, velvet ones, especially. On the bright side, I will say that the first Hoya Linearis was gorgeous and exactly as advertised - it would have been amazing if it hadn't been damaged. The Micans have been a bit sparse, but it's hard to tell if that's just how they normally look or if the cold really did a number on them.

Disappointing Experience with Planterina: Poor Customer Service and Quality Plants
I'm really upset about my experience with Planterina. I spent a lot of money on some plants and when they arrived, they were covered in black spots. I was really worried that they had a bacterial infection and I reached out to the company for help. But I haven't heard anything back from them yet. It's been really frustrating because I was expecting better customer service from a company that I had heard such good things about.
I did get one response from them, but it didn't really help. They just said that they would give me a discount on my next purchase. But I don't want a discount, I want my money back! I feel like they're not taking my concerns seriously and it's really disappointing.
I had high hopes for Planterina because I had seen some great videos on YouTube from Amanda. She made it seem like her company really cared about their customers and that they would go above and beyond to make sure that you were happy with your purchase. But that's not what I experienced at all.
I'm still waiting for my refund and I don't think I'll ever buy from Planterina again. There are plenty of other nurseries out there that offer great customer service and quality plants. I don't see any reason to give my business to a company that doesn't seem to care about their customers.

Mixed feelings on Planterina: Good quality plants but recent issues with shipping and heat packs

Mixed experiences with houseplant retailer Planterina.com
I really love my houseplants, so I was excited to try out Planterina.com for my next purchases. Overall, I've had mixed experiences with them.
My first order had a few plants that were delivered outside of their nursery pots, which was a disappointment. I reached out to customer service to bring this to their attention, and they were kind enough to send me a replacement plant. However, the new plant they sent me was quite small compared to what I had paid for ($55), so I didn't feel like I got my money's worth.
Unfortunately, my most recent experience with Planterina has been even worse. I received a pothos plant that was completely dead and mushy - no signs of life at all. This was really disappointing, especially since I had been excited to add this plant to my collection.
Overall, I'm hesitant to order from Planterina again. While they have some interesting and unique plants on their website, I don't feel like I can trust them to deliver healthy, high-quality plants every time. If you're looking to order from them, just be aware that you might not get exactly what you're expecting.
Planterina fails to deliver promised planter, disappoints customer
So, I bought a plant from Planterina with a special planter included. However, when the package arrived, I was disappointed to find that the plant was only in a regular nursery pot and the planter was nowhere to be seen. I reached out to their customer service, and they offered me only half of the cost of the planter if I wanted to buy it separately.
To be honest, I'm feeling a bit cheated here. The reason I bought the plant from Planterina in the first place was because I was drawn to the idea of having it in a specific planter. Now, I'm stuck with a plant I don't really want and $42 down the drain.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend using Planterina. It seems like a real scam to me. They advertise a product with a fancy planter but then don't deliver on their promise. Avoid them if you can!
Mixed bag of plants and service: Review of Planterina's Hoya Crimson Queen and Snake Plant
I bought this cool looking plant called the Hoya crimson queen from Planterina, and I gotta say, the plant itself was pretty legit. But the company actually sent me another plant, a snake plant, for free! I was stoked about that, even though I wasn't expecting it.
Anyway, the plants arrived in a timely fashion and they were packaged super carefully. The unboxing was honestly pretty fun. But after a couple weeks, I started noticing that my Hoya crimson queen wasn't doing so hot. Like, it was legit dying. I was getting worried cause I don't exactly have the greenest thumb.
So I reached out to Planterina customer service, asked if they could discount me or replace the plant. They ended up offering me a $20 credit for my next order, which was nice, but I wasn't about to use it. I was pretty bummed that my first online plant purchase wasn't all that successful.
Bottom line: if you're looking for plants, I recommend buying local instead.
Disappointing experience with Planterina: Cuttings and Bugs in my Order
So, I gotta be real with y'all - my last experience with Planterina wasn't the greatest. I ordered two 4" scindapsus plants from their website, and when I went to unpack them, I noticed that some of the cuttings had fallen out during shipping. To make things even more frustrating, none of these cuttings had any roots! On top of that, I began to notice some tiny flies buzzing around - turns out they were fungus gnats that had hitched a ride in the packaging. Not cool, Planterina.
After reaching out to their customer service team and sending over some pics of the problem, I didn't receive the response I was hoping for. Instead, they assured me that everything would be okay and to just wait it out. I can't say that I was too thrilled with this answer, and honestly, I don't think I'll be ordering from them again anytime soon.
Listen, I love plants just as much as the next person, but when I'm spending my hard-earned money, I expect to receive healthy, full plants - not a bunch of cuttings and pesky bugs. Hopefully Planterina can step up their game and improve their shipping and customer service for future buyers.
Beware of Planterina: Smaller Plants, Higher Prices, and Poor Customer Service
Do yourself a favor, folks, and think twice before ordering from Planterina. Sure, ordering online may seem like a convenient option, but in reality, you may end up paying more for a plant that is much smaller than what is advertised. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
When my plant finally arrived, I was surprised to see that it was much smaller than what was shown on their website. In fact, the plant had been cut down to size before it was shipped to me. This left me feeling very disappointed and taken advantage of. I reached out to their customer service team, who offered me a measly 10% refund as their only solution. Needless to say, this left a bad taste in my mouth.
My advice? Check out your local nursery or garden center before falling prey to the convenience of online shopping. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also be able to see and feel the plant before making a purchase. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Disappointing experience with Planterina: Frozen, damaged plants & poor customer service
So, I gotta tell you guys about my experience ordering plants from Planterina. I wrote a review before, but after they gave me a refund and a chance to reorder, I thought I’d give ‘em another shot. Well, guess what? The plants I got were STILL in bad shape! They were practically frozen and all messed up from the bad packaging. And get this: when I asked for a replacement for one of my $250 plants, they said no way. I had to contact the BBB to get anything done. Can you believe that? So disappointing.
Mixed experience with Planterina: A review of my verdant green babies
I recently got myself some verdant green babies from Planterina - two Maranta plants dressed in the coat of red and the size "large”. As we all know, these are not just some lifeless decor items, but they possess their own distinctive personalities. Thus I didn't expect these to be exactly alike or faultless just like any other living entity. When my order arrived, one of them hit the perfect spot, however the other one was a tad bit smaller and had about a 50% of its leaves discolored to a yellowish tint. Moreover, to my disappointment a few leaves were even shriveled up and looked dicrepit.
Assuming that maybe a lil bit of extra time with some TLC (tender love and care ) might do the trick and revive the frail-looking leaves, I dropped them an email notifying the situation. Hoping for at least an acknowledgement, I was bewildered to receive absolutely nada in return. Not a single response, zero, zilch. To be honest, I was left feeling a slight sense of dissatisfaction and a strong urge of reluctance to order from them if needed in future.
Mixed Results with Planterina: My Experience Getting a Tropic Maryanne
So, I placed an order on planterina.com and I got this variegated Dieffenbachia, or Tropic Maryanne. This kind of plant should have a cool-looking pattern of dark and light markings all over the leaves. Unfortunately, when my Tropic Maryanne arrived, it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Actually, the newest four leaves were completely green, which means I won't get to see any more of those fancy variegated leaves. I mean, unless I do something really drastic, like cutting the plant down to the base and starting all over again. That was not what I had in mind when I placed my order.
So I contacted Planterina and I asked for a refund. I mean, the plant I got was not really what they said I was ordering. To their credit, Planterina was accommodating and granted me a refund, although only for 30% of what I paid. But, you know, something is better than nothing. All in all, I have to say that my experience with Planterina was not the best, but it was not the worst either. I appreciate that they were willing to work with me to find a solution, and I hope that in the future they'll be able to provide more accurate descriptions of their products.
Misleading Plant Purchase: My Disappointing Experience With Planterina
Just had my first experience buying from Planterina and gotta say, I was not impressed. I spent some decent money on a plant that looked absolutely nothing like the pictures they had on their website. I mean, come on! That's the whole reason I made the purchase in the first place. I wanted a fancy-looking plant to brighten up my boring home, but what I got was a scraggly little thing with barely any leaves and certainly no trailing vines like they showed in the pics.
But that's not the worst part, folks. Nope, it gets worse. As soon as I unwrapped the plant, I could see little bugs scurrying around in the soil. Fungus gnats, do you believe that? I don't know what kind of operation they're running over there at Planterina, but I sure as heck didn't sign up for bug-infested plants.
My advice? Save your money and just wait until you can find the plant you want at your local nursery or home improvement store. At least then you can see what you're getting before you buy it. And don't even get me started on the price hike. I don't know what kind of fancy-pants plant business they think they're running, but it's certainly not worth the extra cash.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for a plant that actually looked like the ones they show online, but this was just ridiculous. It's false advertising, plain and simple. So do yourself a favor and steer clear of Planterina. Trust me - your wallet (and your sanity) will thank you in the long run.
Poor Customer Service and Waterlogged Plant - Disappointing Experience with Planterina.com
I went ahead and made an investment of nearly one hundred dollars on a pretty sizable sansievieria jaboa from planterina.com. Initially, the plant looked stunning, but there was one issue that really bothered me. The plant seemed to be waterlogged, and this made me anxious, but I figured that things would be fine; I just needed to watch over the plant. After roughly a week, the leaves began to feel soggy, and before long, I could see that some were getting quite mushy. It was alarming to me because they would fall off slowly, maybe a couple of leaves every week or so. I didn't water the plant because my moisture meter kept reading 'very wet.' This went on for about a month before I contacted the company and explained that I wanted a replacement, given that the plant was not doing well. The response I got from their support was dismissive as they said that I had waited too long, and nothing could be done to assist me. The lack of support was disconcerting as there was no other way to contact an actual person than through email correspondence.
One of the biggest issues that I had with the company planterina, an eCommerce store that sells plants, is their non-existent customer service. It also did not help that there were no reviews on the website that I could check before making my purchase. During my experience, I realized that I should have done my research more comprehensively. Overall, my experience with planterina.com was discouraging and disappointing. Due to the negative experience, I would not recommend purchasing plants from them.
