On January 11, 2023 I applied for a Plastk Secured Visa and on January 12, 2023 and was approved. I then sent an etransfer to Plastk for $550.00.
On Jan 18, 2023 I received a document verification email confirming that the process had been completed and my account had been created.
January 25, 2023 I used the chat session on their web page to ask when I could expect to receive may visa card. I was advised that the card was in the next mail out of cards.
On Feb 8, 2023 I called to follow up on the card and then was told it was being escalated to the relevant department to process my account for card creation on a priority basis and I would be updated via email once they had an update
Feb 25, 2023 I sent another email asking for an update on my card. I outlined the contradiction of being told it was in the next mail out to account not being created etc.
Reply apologies for inconvenience and delays and advised he was requesting an update on my concern to the relevant team and would update via email as soon as they heard back.
Mar 2, 2023 I sent another email to please cancel my account and return my deposit. I advised that I did not believe my account had been created as I could not see anything on the app and there had been no card made or I would have received it by now.
Mar 2, 2023 The reply indicated again that he has escalated my concern to the relevant department to resolve this issue on a priority basis. If my card is printed I would be able to see it via my cardholder portal or my Plastk app.
If my card is not printed in the next batch in the upcoming week and if you don't see any change in your Plastk app please reach us back and we will cancel your account. While saying they really appreciate my patience and would like to offer 500 compensation points...how can this company continue to do business when I don't have a card and never will have a card. They continue to take peoples money and cannot pay back peoples security deposits!
Mar 2, 2023 Another reply saying we are sorry for the inconvenience, upon looking into the account details I can see your account has been set up perfectly but unfortunately due to an error in the card printing unit the card hasn't been printed yet, we are sorry for the delays, however, I have shared the account details with the relevant team have a look and expedite the card issuance, once the card gets processed the status of your account will be moved to the activate your card which means your card is printed
and we are ready to ship it to you, we would appreciate your patience in regard to the matter.
Mar 20, 2023 I forwarded my email from Mar 2, 2023 and in the email requested to Please Cancel My Account and return my $550 deposit. I got a response this time asking, may we please have a reason for this particular decision? Awaiting your response.
I emailed back saying I have made it very clear why and outlined their poor quality of client experience and to read the previous emails below. I no longer needed their card as I was able to get one within a few weeks somewhere else. I have been waiting since would like my $550.00 security deposit returned! I was told I would have to pay a $5 cancellation fee which I feel I should not have to pay due to the poor service.
March 21 I received an email advising that my Plastk account had been suspended as of today. (its that I could have used it anyway). Once the 60 days was over, your account will be closed and the refund will be sent for processing. Your refund will be issues via interact e-transfer to the email address on your Plastk file.
On July 24, 2023 I emailed again as to when will I be getting my security deposit back and got the same old story. I would like my $550 security deposit returned and I feel they have led me on knowing full well that they had financial problems with their service partner and should not have proceeded with new clients or advertising their business and services.
Oct 10, 2023 As of todays date they have failed to return my security deposit refund of $550.00 by e-transfer which is well past their own policy guidelines. I would like my security deposit refunded.
Desired outcome: Return of my $550 security deposit for a secured visa card that I never received.
