Publishers Clearing House / PCH.com review: received a package I never ordered! 160

All you have to do with those packages is tell them I never ordered this I never recieved this and I will not pay for it or claim the person is dead and has no money...just rip them off.

I place an order with pch for a magazine subscription. after recieving the bill I realized I hadn't put the proper delivery address (it was to be a gift subscription). I mailed my check for the $15.96, the cost of the total subscription. the next day I called thinking I could just ask them to change the delivery address. the man told me he had to cancell the original order and place a new one. he also said, I asked three times to verify, that my check would be sent back to me unprocessed and I would be billed for the new subscription. he aslo gave me the new subscription for $10.00 instead of the original $15 because it was a gift. how nice of him.
They ended up cashing my check which bounced because I had voided it. my bank charged me $38.00 nsf fee. when I called to complain they politely apologized and said the check should not have been processed since the order was cancelled; they would refund my $15.96 and still bill me for the new subscription but that they were unable to do anything about the nsf fee even though their representative told me wrong. why would I want a new subscription that will end up costing me $48.00 when all is said and done and that's if they actually refund my $15.00.

I received two Muscle Fitness magazines. I have never ordered them. We are over 70 years and not interested in the magazine. Please cancel our name off of your Clearing House.

the complaint is they had maid me there recipient to there super prize winning number of 1400 and they keep on changing every other mounth on when they where going to show up at my addesss ad they even had said that several time on my emaill adress and it was dave sawer that had said it and they had never showed up also they had even said to me that i have to be paid and never did yet as well but what realy more interesting then any thing else they had even said on national tv that hey where going to anonunce the winner for the super prize on feb 8th of this year and it was not it and had chaned it again for feb 2012 aint n that against the law to keep on changing and also not paying off as well i would like something from them soon. and i am sorry about this biut a person can only waite for so long a time right

My wife had something similar from PCH. In her case it was an email award notice which when she went to the web site told her to place her order. Sghe tied to get out of it for over 30 minutes and finally did. HOWEVER, she then got a package and bill for merchandise that she had no intention of ordering and sent it back unopened as sent in error. It was two packages. One of those packages came back to her AGAIN today, unopened and with her return message still on the package with a BIG, black, circled "R" on the package. I presume the "R" means "refused". We got a phone number from information and the person whop answered demanded the order number which, they said, is inside the package. If we open the package we will have "received" it. We got no help at all. We still don't know what was sent and have no intention of finding out. I am considering a formal complaint to the Unted States Postal Service, the Consumer Protection Agency and a local police report of attempted fraud. How about you?

They had ripped my G'pa off 1, 000's. He always thought he was "one away" from winning millions. My g'pa truly trusted PCH, Of course he never got his millions, but unlike I bet a lot of people, he didnt go broke doing this. Still I wish I could sue there socks off, there practices are strait up wrong. I would do it not for the money, as I would openly donate it to an program designed to help the elderly (there main targets I've seen too) Dirty!

Also by reading this board, I would assume they ran out of gullible elders to rip off, there now suckering others too (no surprise) and these are the type of practices that PCH does. I am not shocked about the packages at all. I again feel for you. Let them try these practices in china?! Precisely why they do it here!

Publishers clearing house pulled this on my mother, too.

They sent a package to her residence with some cheap junky calculators and a bill.

I called PCH and asked when my mother had placed the order. They said on 8/15/11 and I said that's interesting because she was not alive then. (She had been dead for over a month.)

My mother had boxes of junk like cheap calculators, flashlights, screwdrivers, etc. I could never figure out where they were coming from or why she kept getting them. When I asked her she got defensive. I think what was happening was that PBH convinced her she forgot ordering things she did not want or need and never ordered and made her feel guilty about it.

I have 2 bills in front of me from Publishers Clearinghouse telling me that "My payment was due on XX/XX/XXXX. I have also the print out from my bank with the proof that these bills were paid. This happens all the time and I tired of it.

I just rcvd an unsolicited pkg in the mail. It was cookbooks from Publishers Clearing House. On the manilla envelope was attached an Invoice with this ADDRESS: 720 Winners Circle, St. Cloud, MN 56399.

Has anyone else been victimized like this? I figure this is A GIFT FROM THEM SINCE I DID NOT ORDER IT.
I have been scammed. I guess they figure they're not going to be out anything sin ce putting me in the poisition of having to pay postage back again. I'm not paying, I'm not sending it back and will publicize this scam, starting with the State's Consumer Fraud Division..

I ordered a sterling silver necklace before and they mailed it to me and i pay my bill ... but lately i was surprise when i receive a parcel from PCH containing an item a did not order from them. I Want to return it back to their office but i lost my order number... thanks..

You should contact your state attorney general's consumer protection div. and the better business bureau if publishers clearing house is using illegal intimidation and threats.

I have had this experience (the 2012 "sweepstakes") in the sweepstakes paperwork, it acknowledges that I do not want to order from the umpteen amount of loose leaf ads they have sent in 5 diff mailings but... and here's where their mail fraud begins... it goes like this: 'but, if you did want to purchase something, what would it be?' you are required to answer as part of the eligibility on going forward in the pch sweepstakes. this is not just a 'clerical error', it is a planned criminal act printed in the voluminous literature it sends. trouble is, you have to send this proof forward so they can begin their mail fraud.

Then the article arrives which you did not order..."but if you did..."
We are then expected to subsidize this criminal firm by sending or trying to send it back. its a win-win situation for them. they don't pay the postage back and the billing letters are beginning.

In my case, I just throw the letters and threats, unopened in w the unordered, unwanted merchandise. the threats are commonly used by such sleazy people, together with outside warnings on the envelopes, officious looking printed phrases etc. and I am not worried. if they want their merchandise back, they can pay the postage! if they take legal action as i'm sure those bills infer, there's one question the courts will ask: prove it!

Why must you allow the typo correction sites (above) to mess up the message?

Why don’t PCH have a catalog to choose from there should be a Catalog so the customers can choose what items is in the catalog without choose what flyers PCH send with the items that was order. If other companies can do then why can your company have CATALOGS to choose from. We have rights to our options and comments because without the customers reply on orders your company would hit rock bottom.

So think about CATALOGS to be made for your customers to be happy with they orders from PCH. Thank you for your time.

I ordered a wallet for my husband who was in the Navy. When wallet arrived it was Army wallet. Sent back with payment but have not heard anything. Will I get the wallet or do I need to stop payment?

I have put a lot of my time in just to have a chance at a prize. I am beginning to be put off after 2 and a half years of sitting and inputting game after game with no success. I am about to give up so I can eat on time, do things around the house and spend time with my wife; this is a non-ending game to get someone, anyone to make a purchase. I tried making a purchase once and got only half my order of only 2 items, one of which was on back-order! Yet today I find myself still trying to make my way into the winner's circle, well, I am done 6 or 7 emails a day is enough and not just one item is offered at a time, it's always 5 or so sub-items to go along. The time consumer is you have to watch those commercials before you can move on, whew, I'm tired, everyday! I have to let this go and have a life !? That's my comment!

I did order from PCH. First was a dog pillow which has split at the seams and the stuffing from the pillow inside is falling out. So cheaply made. I'm not paying for garbage. Second was the fuzzy socks. Well first time washing (hand washing) in cold watedr...They SHRUNK! Please do not purchase any items from PCH. Don't know what country you use but they stink. I started to order a few things because I wanted to enter the drawing. I clicked on a few things, but did not finalize or pay for my order. I wanted to see the shipping charge first. Imagine my shock when the items started appearing at my door with NO invoice. I order things online ALL THE TIME and this is the first time simply clicking on the item without finalizing resulted in a shipment. So now will they hit me with a big bill for these items?!? I'm going to refuse shipment.

Hello, I am being charged for a wallet that never came to my house, i am so poor i can not pay attention let alone a wallet i never received. . My attitude towards this complaint is very confused. if pch is going to send a package to anyone, don't you think it should be signed for? Just so someone, anyone would not be able to just see a box & take it for themselves? Convenient you won't accept my comment.

Hello, i have been playing the search & win games now for many years. I am so poor i can not pay attention, therefore i would not order something i already know i can not afford. All i am trying to do is play to win. Really i am very ill, i am not trying to buy anything, i just would like a chance to win some cash. Lord have mercy i could tell you some stories, but i have survived, so far.Never received a wallet i am being charged for, perhaps PCH should have people sign for packages, packages are a tempting item open in a mailbox.

I am a flood victim and have lost everything only for pch to try to scam me with an order I never placed I found that on the ask a question page you can submit a request to cancel said order but only after they issue you an or id number its also no guarantee your order will be canceled before it is shipped. I am documenting each message with screen capture so I can prove if necessary that I indeed did submit a request to cancel the order in a timely fashion! if the package does show I will simply not open it and store it away because I refuse to pay shipping for an item I certainly did not order pch does not have my bank acc numbers of ss# so if they ignore my request to cancel it will be totally at fault and it will be documented with screen captures showing dates and messages I had read about this scam but never thought I get caught up in it.

Pch still send items that I did not even click or ordered and showed empty cart. pch is scamming consumers and supervisors argued that I need to check the cart. again, I did not click and the cart is empty and did not want to order but just to enter the sweepstakes. so pch are ripping, scamming online customers even though it said no purchase necessary to enter sweepstakes.

I received my order a couple days ago and it wasn't all there. I ordered a purse which was there, and a solar light set that was there. I ordered a pink passion lily bulbs, which are on backorder. But when I opened the box, I had ordered a batter pourer, the box was there with it open and no batter pourer in it. Now I know the person that packed it had to know the box was empty when they put it in the box. And of course there isn't any e-mail or phone number to contact anyone with. Now what?

I just now received a set of 3 flashlights I did no order. my husband is furious that we have to waste time on their ridiculous and from the posts above obvious scam. for the last few weeks i've received junk mail envelopes nearly everyday (and sometimes 2 a day). I was wondering how they could afford all these mailings;-now I see,, - they think someone like me will say "well dear, - you do get 3 for $17.99, — why dont we just go ahead a pay it to avoid the hassle of returning". that is the easiest way, — (for now);, — but the bottom line is that I did not order it so I am going to gear myself up for an inevitable fight. Pch contends I have ordered an engraver pen. I have not. I wanted to try this sweepstakes to see if it was legitimate. it appears to be fake. I am a trail lawyer and ready, willing and able to file suit for the fraud being committed to me and millions of people in the usa.

I had a good experience. I mistakenly placed an order, but didn't see in my shopping Cart. I then thought, "ok maybe I didn't". Then a day or so later I got an email and has placed the order. I called the 800 # and all they it cancel and I had made an error.
The last was very friendly and put me on hold. She came back & said in 24-48 hours I'd see the credit.

why are ads so long? Vascepa, Merck and others are infamous for this. My wife and I will never watch or listen to an ad that is longer than 30 seconds. Any ad longer than 15 seconds is boring and a waste of time. It is like being forced to watch a stupid movie that you do not want to watch. Please cut the ad time. They take away from playing the games.

Yesterday i was a friend with Jennifer Young she said she was with pch .Told me that I had won $2, 500, 000 and $10, 000 every week and a new car but I would have to pay a $350.00 to receive my winning.

I am not at all happy with these lights but since it would cost me to send them back I just paid for them. I will not be buying anything else from you because there is no return service. You should take your customers in consideration. I buy many thinks through Amazon and never have a problem with returning my items.
