This Martha woman acts extremely friendly and nice in the beginning. Very responsive to emails, explains about dogs even sends videos with a girl who plays with them. Once buyer is finally committed to buying dog the method payment comes up right away. Then things suddenly turn completely south when she drops the bomb that she expects Buyer to pay FULL PRICE before receiving dog or even vet check to state the dog exists and is 100% healthy. And without any contract or website to refer to. When normal requests were asked ie contract, vet check confirmation of health BEFORE sending any money she freaks out and is rude and disrespectful. Wants buyer to pay through WALMART moneygram! So shady. Also does not allow prospective buyers to visit her home. Why do you think that is? Because she is hiding something! She would rather ship her dogs via United with TERRIBLE reviews then have someone come to pickup dog in person. Even when buyer offers to pickup dog (going completely out of their way and spending more money to ensure dogs safety) she wants to ship! Obviously because she doesn't plan on shipping any dog once the money is deposited directly to her. If the dog even exists or hasn't been sold already to begin with. Obviously only cares about RIPPING PEOPLE OFF and when it's apparent she cannot outsmart buyer by taking their money and running or con them she turns into a different person. DO NOT FALL FOR HER LIES! Don't say I didn't warn you. I feel sorry for her dogs if she even has any. She even goes as far as to say she was busy with her "foster children" and "special needs grandchildren" very very unreliable. Steer clear of her! She posts pics with a girl/child holding dogs to try and reel people in. Has good reviews on puppyfinder because sellers can ERASE NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM THEIR PAGE! She regularly posts ads for Rottweilers and pomeranians on puppyfinder.com.

PuppyFind advertising stolen property

I contacted puppyfind with an attorney letter that a woman in MO named Abbie Whatley was selling stolen property involved in a civil suit. Puppyfind initially suspended her account and a day later let the woman sell my puppies. I also must add that they allow the seller to take down negative reviews as i put one up to warn people and it was taken down right away..This is sad. my explanation was they do not get involved in 3rd party disputes however their contract states they can at their discretion so with an attorney letter and a woman who all over the internet has crappy reviews at candycoated doxie.com how do u allow only the fake positive ones on your site to deceive buyers..they do it for their 20$ a month and its sad and misleading. i will never list another dog with them again, the BBB gave candycoateddoxies an F. Puppyfind should be protecting the consumer and adhere to attorney letters instead of wanting to make their 20$ a month

PuppyFind the owner of the puppy didn't show up

I have found the puppy on www.puppyfind.com. The owner agreed to communicate only via email. She didn’t ask me for money and told that I could pay. When we would meet. Ok, I agreed and meet her in New York. She told me the flight details and never showed up. I’m glad that she didn’t ask me to pay upfront, but I want to warn other people as well.

PuppyFind Sells Sick puppies

I had purchased a puppy from miss Caroline Henderson her contract stated that my puppy would be 100% but it turned out to have 2 parasites and have ear mites as well. My puppy past away 4 days later and when I informed her she got defensive and kept stating she was covered with her contract and that the parasites were from my care but the vet stated it was from the water he was being fed in his kennel. Ms. Caroline also admitted it could have been from the kennel but kept insisting she was covered. I would not do business with this lady as soon as she gets your money she will become very shady and rude

Thank you gals for posting. I was tempted to get what looked like beautifully colored yorkies cheap 900. the pups maybe two weeks old were tossed on the floor in the picture, No pride whatsoever. Does not offer the akc registration, why not? No website No reviews. Too many red flags. Ladies that this breeder could not even tell you she was sorry at the loss of your pet and then tried to blame you for it, there is simply no excuse. So this is for you Carolyn at Henderson’s Haven because I know will try to delete this message but you will have to read it first! After picking up dog s**t for 40 years it is clear that you are consumed with GREED. My heart went out to those poor pups laying on that cold floor it was easy to see that they were trying to huddle together for either warmth or safety. Where was the mom? You are a cold hearted person with no pride. Give these poor animals a break.
ITS REALLY ABOUT MUCH MORE THAN THE MONEY TO EVERYONE EXCEPT YOU.

DO NOT ERASE THIS MESSAGE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW THIS IS A PUBLIC NOTICE

This lady contacted me under the guise of being a snowbird that travels from Texas to Maine via motor home and wanting a male Golden to travel with her poodle.

Clearly a backyard breeder or puppy mil.

As to the reviews above, no reputable breeder demands people immediately take puppies to the vet. Reputable breeders guarantee puppies are healthy upon arrival and will guarantee they do not need vetting for at least 3 weeks (when they will need their 2nd or 3rd set of shots depending on how they are upon sale).

If the puppy was taking to the veterinarian within the first 24 hours as stated on the purchase contract that buyer signed, the puppy could have easily been treated and been fine. I do my best to have healthy puppies, that’s why we require them to seen by buyers veterinarian in case we have missed something. But unfortunately, I was not given a opportunity to treat this puppy, because it was to late after them waiting for the puppy to get so sick before they took it to the veterinarian. I was not notify until after the puppy passed.

PuppyFind sam or wilma

I purchased a puppy on Sun(8-25) and took the puppy to the vet Thursday. This puppy not only has stage 2-3 heart murmur but also parasites. Don't mind parasites but the murmur will be too expensive to treat. I should have known not to go through with the purchase when the puppy did not look like the puppy in the photo. I was trying to return the puppy in the time allotted just like there warranty said but she is making it difficult. I met with a man in PA (I paid for gas and tolls) to pick up the pup and she lives in NY. I live in NJ. She expects me to drive all the way out to NY and won't even meet me half way. The website use to say Woodlyn, PA but she changed it now to NY. I just don't get someone who won't stand by their contract. I have purchased puppies on this site before and thought I would have the same great experience. I had to jump through hoops to write a negative review just to have her delete her profile. I want to warn other about doing business with her. Wilma never asked how the puppy was doing. Just worried about money.

puppyfind will not let you put a bad review on a breeder without dictating the review:

Hello,

The documentation has been reviewed and your review for Ellen will be reactivated, but it will need to be rewritten to exclude any statements that are your opinion or not supported by documentation.

You will have to address each dog separately in your review because they were not purchased at the same time, and will only be able to post what was on the vet report.

For the first puppy you will have to include that at the initial vet visit the dog was presumed healthy, after 3 days the dog was treated for kennel cough, at 6 days was diagnosed with pneumonia, and after 3 months was diagnosed with demodex mange.

For the second puppy you can include that the puppy was treated for an upper respiratory infection and after 25 days was also diagnosed with demodex mange. You will also have to include that the contract does not cover bacterial infections.

Below is your original review. Please go over your statements, make the necessary changes, and submit your new review. If your review has not been resubmitted with in 60 days of this notice the case will be closed and your review will not be posted.

Review: After getting two puppies from Ellen Roberts, both puppies have had very bad cases of kennel cough. one puppy kennel cough went into pneumonia and the others has lasted 5 weeks with antibiotics from the vet. they both now have been diagnosed with demodex mange. Anybody who purchases a dog online without going to see the animal is a sucker. Just send me that $400 deposit (moneygram, please). I promise you one thing they can't: I won't saddle you with an animal that can be just about anything you don't want. And vet bills that will put you in the poor house. Completely idiotic thing to do . Just click on "dog breeders" on this site and educate yourself. You'll soon see what I'm talking about. Backyard breeding is a new way to make a living just to get some extra income while sitting on your butt. It has absolutely nothing to do with breeding quality dogs. And given the gullible customer base you get to deal with, it works!

Not sure why you had problems with puppyfind i reported a scam breeder on there and they took them off and blocked them right away. I bought a English bulldog online was shipped to me delta airlines. Best dog i ever had. the dog came with vet papers but my vet found cocsidia in the dog. was treated. not every breeder is going to be honest, or are all vets reliable, risks come with all pets. Not like you can take the pet to the vet before hand and give it back and say no. My best advise is check the breeder out and talk to people who have bought from them in the past. Go threw your vet for good breeders.

No sympathy for anybody who would purchase a dog on line - puppy mill or not. There are puppy mills on line and off line too. Get off your duff and go see the animal and research and see the business selling it, yourself, before you ever put forth a dime. You're stuck with the puppy. Worm it, and don't worry about the murmur. They're not always significant.

PuppyFind harassment/slander from linda kaiser

I wrote a Negative complaint after purchasing a pup from Linda J Kaiser way back in Feb. 2012, that had Kennel Croup & Severe Ear Infections, in which I returned the pup to her, not to recieve a dime back after I paid her $450 for, $100 in supplies & $94 Vet bill within 2 days of having the puppy. She had it removed due to you Puppfind.com policy of sellers paying to advertise their dogs on Puppyfind.com. I found this complaint site and left a review about her to warn others back in Nov. 2012. She just must of found this complaint site on July 9, 2013 and has since been slandering me on it. I want nothing to do with this woman, and she is grasping at straws, due to the fact that she has been found to be running a Puppy Mill along with the Chief Animal Control Officer in Lapeer Michigan. The story made the Front Page of The County Press of Lapeer MI on Sunday July 21, 2013 & again on Wednesday July 24, 2013. I am asking that you Remove Any/All said complaints ASAP! I am a 60 year old retired woman who lives a very quiet life, alone, and I am terrified of this crazy lady! I thought I'd never hear of this Linda Kaiser again, since my horrible, upsetting ordeal, way back 2012, when she out and out lied to me about the puppies health when I ask, that was until this whole story broke & my jaw hit the floor! Here is the part of the Story that I copied...Or you can go to "Puppy Mill Awareness Southeast Michigan" to read more...Your removal of all Comments I/she left is Greatly Appreciated. I used the name Misty Silver on the complaint board.
Your Help in this Matter is Sincerely Appreciated,

Earlier this year we discovered that Carla Frantz, the woman investigating our kennel complaints in Lapeer County, was also breeding! And she wasn’t just breeding a few dogs. According to the former director, she acquired the breeding dogs from the kennel we were investigating as the largest puppy miller in Lapeer County – Linda Kaiser. Just unbelievable. It was confirmed with the meeting minutes at a township meeting where she stated she was indeed breeding and selling. We met with her supervisor last week and asked Carla to resign.

Linda, or is it Joylyn that post puppies for sale on yet another site. Yes, the case was closed way back in April 2012, and it took every ounce of my being to put it behind me, as I Detest with a passion one who lies, and yet it seems to come so natural to you as you've done it for years.! There are 2 things in my Life that you don't screw with~~My Children/Grandchildren & My Money! I do not throw my money around frivolously to support people as yourself. I would of much rather given it to my Senior Mother who lives off what you make off 1 sale! It only came to the forefront when I heard it on the TV News~~you did see it didn't you? Or you must of read what the Lapeer County Press has written. Not my words, theirs. Isn't it ironic how others post on Puppyfind.com complaints about getting sick pups from breeders as yourself, and not one response from the seller/breeder but You! You aren't the brightest crayon in the box, so to speak... You only happened to stumble on the complaint that I left back on November 11, 2012 after the [censored] hit the fan recently exposing you & Carla!

Update by Nunurbizness
Jul 31, 2013 2:13 pm EDT

How convenient for you, Linda, to use Puppyfind.com to run your Puppy Mill business from for the past 7-8 years that you admitted to in your previous post. What would you call a person that had 25 puppies at one time, then 30? Most would agree that it is a Puppy Mill, hands down! There is no way possible that you can care for that many dogs, along with the countless puppies they were pushing out, one after another and selling for Hugh Profits and selling them without any documentation from a Licensed Vet that they were Healthy and did indeed have proper Puppy Care. Not to mention No Birth Record or name of Sire & Dame of said puppies.
If anyone is interested in purchasing one of her pups she has for sale...PLEASE go to Puppy Mill Awareness of Southeast Michigan.com and read the Articles written by the Lapeer County Press along with a picture of where these puppies were being born~~in a Barn! Not in her Plush Lovely Home that she shows pics of on Puppyfind.com that many have helped her achieve by buying one of her Puppy Mill Pups...It's so sad & heart wrenching to say the least :( Please Adopt~Don't Shop!

Here you go again with your Lies! I was not made aware that the puppy had Kennel Croup or Ear Infections! You wrote a "Cough"...Funny you were quick to direct me to the nearest ATM machine when I told you I'd have to come the next day, as I didn't have the money. It wasn't until I returned that you threw pills on the table and stated "Oh he does have a cough that I've been treating"! I again ask what the foul smell was, which you just fluffed off! Why would you even post to sell a puppy you knew of should have known with all you "experience" that he was sick. Where were all the other puppies you had listed at that time? Why were holding the puppy and his supposedly sister, one under each arm when I arrived? Why wasn't I shown the whelping room, and where these puppies were sleeping, playing, eating ect? Because you are a typically Puppy Mill Breeder! Lesson Learned...Adopt not Shop! It is appalling knowing that Puppyfind.com is full of Puppy Mill Breeders as yourself that need to be shut down! And good, hard working, honest people get taken advantage of by people like you! I wish you would start acting your age and stop using words like, Hater, Suck it Up, Bullying ect. Who do you think your talking to? Perhaps you may talk like that with your children and think it's funny, but I find it rather disrespectful & distasteful...

The case is closed Misty...I mean Karen Wilson. How many dogs have you adopted? A nice big pitbull probably would be best suited for you...but try not to get one that snores because it will probably keep you up at night and make you even more tired and cranky than you already are! Oh and you should probably rent a car next time you want to go sneaking around. This is very amusing especially when you all find out what the truth really is. Sorry, but the group you belong to is writing things on hearsay. You know what they say about hearsay! xoxo

Please remove all of her comments. If you need proof that she lost this case and is just hating on me I will obtain in for you. I have copies of the contract she signed still and that is the whole reason you pulled her negative comment in the first place. This woman can't let it go and she has caused a lot more libel for me. She is posting these things trying to shut me down. I sell high end puppies and have for years. I have been a member of puppyfind for at least 7 or 8. I've never had a complaint until her. This all happened when she bought a puppy back in Jan 26, 2012. She was aware that it had had a reaction to a bordetella shot as I had disclosed everything in writing and she opted to purchase the discounted puppy anyway. Everything was legit! The magistrate sided with me. She can't seem to move on and just wants to destroy me. Please remove her nasty libel so my reputation can remain with integrity.

The facts are not being reported correctly. These allegations are from a group of women who are cult/ haters of breeders. They do not know me or no about my dogs. They have assumed and alleged some serious things. I do not know what they are talking about. I do not run a puppy mill with this person they are alleging, but I do know that this Karen Wilson it twisting the truth and she is ticked that she lost her case and can't move on with her life. She claims to live a peaceful life but there is proof that she has trespassed and is going to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. She was caught on private property and she should be scared...of the law, not me! I have nothing to do with those nice people except that they are having problems with trespassers and little old 60 yr. old women breaking in their milk house to optain pictures of dogs in cages because their owner is at work. . Carla does not breed dogs nor does she have a barn full of them. Her mom did get some dogs from me when I dispersed my kennel, but she did not get all my dogs. I placed them to pet homes. I do not get my Cavachon puppies from them, I breed my own out of my home and not a puppy mill. She doesn't even own Bichons. If you don't believe me Dick Tracy get copies of her licenses. It tells what breeds she has. These are the facts! You need to shut up while the shutting is good. Move on with your hating vengeance life. I can prove all of this is true and all of you people involved in this cyber bulling hate crime with be in the hot seat walk of shame!

Stay away from www.puppyfind.com, if you do find a breeder and they screw you and you want to write a bad review on www.puppyfind.com, first of all the breeder can take that review off and second www.puppyfind.com will want to dictate what you can and can not say, but if it is a good review you may say what ever you want, what ever PUPPYFIND, WHAT EVER.

PuppyFind worthless

I've tried to post a negative review of sabinehuntertrds.com, a breeder on puppyfind, who sold mea defective dog. I was promised a refund by the breeder and when that didn't happen I posted a negative review. Puppyfind quickly removed the negative because they get a commission of the dogs they sale. It is a vicious scam. STAY AWAY and buy a dog from a breeder you can meet.

PuppyFind supports irresponsible breeders and censors buyers

Puppyfind.com advertises puppies and dogs for sale by what they claim to be reputable and responsible breeders. Unfortunately once you make a purchase through one of their advertisements, Puppyfind.com will NOT allow you to post a rating of your experience with a particular breeder that is unsatisfactory in nature. They will remove the unsatisfactory rating and will NOT contact you for background information. They claim to want to support both the buyer and the seller, however their actions only support the seller. They tried to tell me I did not make a purchase through the vendor. They tried telling me that the seller removed the rating because I never made a purchase. They then tried to say the seller has the option to remove ratings if they are not valid and that they would have contacted me for background or supporting documentation, which they absolutely did NOT DO. They then will try to tell you that your rating was removed because based on your post, it indicates the transaction was made through petfind.com (which is not an active or valide web site domain) or petfinder.com which I had NOT made a purchase through. They (Joanna from Customer Support) has tried every trick in the book to dissuade me from posting a rating, and when she indicated I can post the rating again, the site automatically rejects the attempting with a pop up window that states "oops...you have already rated this seller" - they have my email address that is associated with my Puppyfind.com membership, yet they claim I was not listed as a buyer. They are the WORST excuse for a business I have ever experienced and anyone with similar experiences need to contact anyone and everyone they can to seek shutting them down and saving future customers from similar experiences.

Hello DMAZ,
I had replied to your comments in a different thread on this site but wanted to make sure you saw it so I am reposting my reply here.
I did some research on your claims and read the email communication between you and Joanna. The reason why you were asked if you meant PetFinder is because you wrote PetFinder in the review that you left and since Puppyfind.com is in no way related to PetFinder the review would have been removed as being submitted to the wrong site. However, after hearing back from you that you did intend to submit the review to Puppyfind and not PetFinder, Joanna did proceed with the review process by sending you a request for supporting documentation. Puppyfind.com, at no time, refused to allow you to submit your review. When you initially contacted Puppyfind regarding not being able to locate your review, Joanna did tell you that she was not able to locate the review for the Seller you were referencing. It turned out that you did not provide the correct Seller information and that was why we were not able to locate the review. Once she did find the review and cleared up the issue regarding your referencing of PetFinder, she moved forward with the review process of asking for supporting documentation. At this point, we are simply waiting for your response and will then continue to move forward with the process. I am sorry if you feel our review process, and our desire for accuracy, is sub-par. We take the reviews left on the site very seriously. When a seller attempts to remove a review as being inaccurate, we begin the review process and allow the reviewer the opportunity to provide supporting documentation. The seller also has to provide supporting documentation and in many cases we do restore the negative review. The review process is not perfect and we are working on ways to improve it but at this time we are doing the best we can to insure that the reviews activated on the site are accurate representations.
I wish you the best of luck!
Thank you,

Jessica

*warning* We purchased a puppy, supposedly a pure breed, siberian husky from debbie. Koda is absolutely a beautiful puppy inside and out. Awesome personality. However that being said... What a nightmare it has turned out to be and it will be ongoing for her whole life. It started with her having diarrhea since the day we got her. Debbie claims neither...

PuppyFind please beware on this site and really all sites like this

Please beware on this site and really all sites like this. We brought a puppy last year, a Shiba Inu, she is beautiful and sweet also comes with health issues! Sites like this is heaven for puppy mills. I brought it from a seller who promised me that her dog had a litter and wants them in a good home. I paid good money for my lil pup pup and even more on medical bills in which the bet had told us her issues stem from heritage breeding. Ex: our puppies parents where most likey her brother and sister from a previous litter. Sure enough I went back and checked the listing and it all adds up to a litter being born within the time frame of a birth, recovery time, and another birth.

If you really loves animals go save one from a shelter. Watch a documentary I caught on HBO called Madonna of the Mills!
A real eye opener! These poor babies are tortured to breed n breed treated horribly and have their puppies ripped away once they give birth to sell while still too young to be taken away from there mother:(

Your lil pup was 3 months old when we got her, health issues and also she would hide in a corner for weeks after you went to touch her and she would move back... Seems she had already suffered abuse within her few short month with the breeders :(

What a JOKE of a response from Puppyfind.com! I have been in an ongoing dispute with "Joanna" from Puppyfind.com Customer Support who has done absolutely NOTHING but make up excuses for why my recent Seller Rating was removed without my consent and without even attempting to contact me. I have had the most unprofessional and irresponisble dealings with one of your breeders and your company refuses to allow me to post a Bad rating and indicated that the breeder has the ability to remove any ratings they want. I was also told that my rating must have been for Petfind.com or Petfinder.com, when Petfind.com is not even a viable domain name and I have never been to Petfinder.com. Your company is supportive protecting of irresponsible backyard breeders, puppy mills and the like and as a result is culpable for any bad experiences no matter how many times and ways you wish to dissuade customers from voicing their negative experiences. You should be ashamed of yourself and everyone who has had such an experience should go to the BBB and any other consumer protection agency that they can to file a complaint not only about the specific breeder, but Puppyfind.com for supporting the breeders and attempting to censor the buyers.

My name is Jessica and I am a Relationship Manager with Puppyfind.com. Since Puppyfind.com was mentioned in this complaint, I wanted to take a moment to respond on behalf of the Puppyfind.com website.

First, let me say that I am sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience while using the website. Bringing a new puppy into your home should be an exciting and fun time and I know that if something ends up being wrong with the puppy it can take an emotional toll on everyone involved. I do hope your puppy is thriving now despite its rough start.

While it is true that Puppyfind doesn't pre-screen members as stated in our Terms Of Service, we do work on making the website as safe as possible for all users. Unfortunately, Puppyfind.com has no way of knowing if a puppymill is utilizing our website. We simply do not have the ability to perform inspections on those breeders who choose to advertise on our website. However, when we do discover that a breeder is a puppymill, we do remove them from the site. Please understand that it does take more than one person's claim that a breeder is a puppymill. We look for copies of inspection reports, news reports and/or charges filed against the breeder to support the claim of "puppymill". If someone feels a breeder is a puppymill, we encourage that individual to contact our Customer Support and provide information detailing the reasoning behind that claim.

We also offer individuals who have purchased a puppy from a breeder on our site the ability to submit reviews of their experience. We may ask for supporting documentation as we try to be fair to both sides. Puppyfind is not involved in the arrangements or transactions of puppy sales. We do not promote one breeder over another nor do we receive any compensation from a successful sale. We simply provide an avenue for the initial point of contact.

As the previous poster mentioned, it is important for users to perform their due diligence when purchasing a puppy. We do try to help the buyer by offering a Buyer Tips page on the Puppyfind.com website. This page can be accessed by visiting the Puppyfind.com website and clicking the Buyers Tips tab located at the top of the page. These tips include questions to ask and things to watch out for when choosing a puppy.

Bilope, please feel free to contact the Puppyfind.com Customer Support if you have information supporting your claim of the breeder being a puppymill. We do not want puppymills on our website as that is not what the site was intended for. If you have not already submitted a review of your experience with this seller, please don't hesitate to do so.

Thank you for your time and I wish you and your puppy the best of luck.

I purchased a puppy recently, for $400. For an additional $100, I had her flown to my home. Very unhappy with the seller, because we scheduled one shipping date. Drove to the airport that day, the dog was not on the flight. I tried to contact the seller, they did not respond. I received an email one random morning a few days later, with shipping information for pick-up within a few hours. Very unhappy because I had no idea. When the puppy arrived, her paperwork (shot records, etc...) was supposed to be attached to the crate. They were not. I received another email, saying the seller would mail the records separately. It is three weeks later, and I still have not received them.

In addition to the scheduling hell the seller put me through, the puppy had a veterinarian "clean bill of health" in order to fly. I took her to my personal vet the following day after receiving her, she had ear mites, kennel cough, and bald spots. I am unsure how she was able to get a "clean bill of health to fly", and yet have so many issues. Very upset because I spent a lot of money, and my poor baby is sick.

This site will not let me post feedback to the seller directly, otherwise I would. Very negative experience, I did not receive what I thought I purchased. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY BREED FROM FRED REDDING! They were very poor sellers, and have dogs in poor health! I am really unhappy, and wish there was more I could do.

I was just scammed $900 in the past 2 days by a "breeder" on you ur website. Her name was "Carol Brezinski" and we contacted her via puppy find and she "referred" us to Dr Morgan & Nancy DeFatima Lainez. Come to find out Nancy Lainez is a scam artist and has been scamming a bunch of people, taking their money & not sending the dog! Come to find out "Carol Brezinski" with an email address of dakotagram2@yahoo.com was a fake as well and it was "dr Morgan and nancy" scamming me the whole time. And now when I put in her name on PuppyFind, she "has no puppies at this time" please, someone off of PuppyFind contact me.

Due to the nature of our website, we do not pre-screen people who advertise on PuppyFind.com. This is made known in our Terms Of Service (TOS), as well as the fact that the service is provided "As Is" meaning that we provide the resources (the website) but not the content. The content is provided by people who sign up to advertise dogs on PuppyFind.com. While this 'open door' policy may appear dangerous to some people, PuppyFind.com does take measures to protect our members as best we can. We also provide Buyer Tips on our site that give potential buyers tips and questions to ask of breeders that advertise on the site. For example, we provide the distinct tip to avoid using Western Union as a means of payment. While we do provide these tips, warnings, and ways for members to turn in scammers, it should also be remembered that the buyer must do their own research before handing over any money to someone they intend to deal with involving a dog advertised on our site. Pre-screening or no pre-screening, it's up the buyer to make sure they are 100% confident in whom they are dealing with when using our service. PuppyFind.com is used by many ethical people, but bad apples may appear from time to time. This is why we work around the clock to keep the site as safe as possible. We also hope that the public is doing their part by asking the right questions and using common sense when dealing with a breeder they find on PuppyFind.com. As I have stated previously, if anyone is found to be violating our TOS, the public can inform us at Scamalert@PuppyFind.com and we will investigate and take the appropriate action necessary.

Thank you for your time,

I have been searching for breeders nationwide and it really disturbs me that there are little to no ethics with so many of these people. How does your company actually scan prospective advertisers to avoid these things? I am open to a Havanese, Cavalier or Cavachon. WHERE DOES A BUYER TURN TO FOR REAL ETHICAL PEOPLE?

Greetings,

My name is Matt and I'm the Relationship Manager with PuppyFind.com. I am very sorry to hear that a scam artist has made their way on to our website and come in contact with the complainant, asking for funds to be sent via Western Union.

The wording of this complaint, and the initial comment both make statements that appear to blame our actual site for scamming them, but I would like readers to know that PuppyFind.com is not scamming these individuals. Our company is a legitimate service that has unfortunately been attacked by scam artists, and we must work daily to keep these scammers off of our site. Our fraud department works around the clock dealing with all sorts of accounts that violate our Terms Of Service (TOS), with scam artists being the worst offenders.

Because scam artists can appear to be legitimate members when they join our site, and may appear legitimate for a period of time, it can be difficult to locate them and positively identify them. However, there will be certain behaviors they exhibit that eventually indicate their true nature. Scammers will operate in different ways, one of them is the act of asking for money by Western Union.

The 'Buyer Tips' page (http://www.puppyfind.com/buyer_tips/) posted on our website clearly states that sending money by Western Union should be avoided. As this is one of the tips of our website, it would certainly not be something the service would ask of its members, so it's very clear that the complainant must be referring to the scam artist they met on our site, and not the site itself.

We encourage members to inform us of any suspicious accounts they may come across while using our service. Be it a legitimate dog breeder with poor practices, or a scam artist from overseas, we desire to see TOS violators removed from our website as quickly as possible. Every listing that appears on our site has a button that members can press to report the listing and account it is attached to. This report will be immediately sent to our fraud department, and the account will be investigated and the appropriate actions taken. If an email must be sent to detail what has happened while interacting with a scammer, those can be sent to us at Scamalert@Puppyfind.com.

It is my hope that readers will understand that the scams being spoken of in this complaint and subsequent comment are not being perpetrated by PuppyFind.com, but rather scammers who have decided to attack both our site and our members. If any readers have a specific listing or account they need to turn in that comes to mind while reading this, please send that information to us immediately by way of the email address posted in the previous paragraph.

Thank you for your time, and for sending any information to us that will help rid our site of scam artists.

Respectfully,

Matt

PuppyFind fraud

I have contacted puppyfind over the past 2 years. I emailed them 02/25/11 and stated they had over 150 bogus adds that read 300 with shipping included., every page I went to had a bogus add. They didn't even spell right. Puppyfind does not do anything regarding the fraud they let the adds stay up. They dont let the consumer know of possible scams. Something needs to be done about this site. They are ripping off hundreds of people. One email let me know he just build a home off this site. Please do something.

Greetings,

My name is Matt and I am the Relationship Manager with Puppyfind.com. It has come to our attention that the complainant is claiming that they have sent numerous messages to our website about scammers, with no action taken by us against the scammers. The complainant then goes on to make statements that simply do not make sense. The overall complaint is lacking in truth as well as evidence, but to those who believe what 'Banjo1234' is stating, please understand that this complaint is far from the truth.

Interestingly enough, this complaint reads much like a complaint left about Puppyfind.com in December 2010 by a Complaintsboard member using the name 'Walter'. In this other complaint, 'Walter' states that he contacted us numerous times about scammers and we did nothing, and that our owner even informed 'Walter' that a new garage had been added to the owners house because of all the money made from the scammers. Our comment left for that complaint indicated that the statements made by 'Walter' were far from the truth. The same goes for this particular complaint.

I will repeat what has been stated before on this website. To those out there who say we are doing nothing to protect our members, please note that there is much more going on behind the scenes of Puppyfind.com than the public realizes, and it's all being done to keep everyone as safe as possible. Each type of fraudulent account must be dealt with in different ways, and some may take a bit more time to remove than others (due to the amount of research that must go into the accounts), but Puppyfind.com is making sure that every fraudulent account that is found is being removed. Yes, scammers do attack Puppyfind.com on a daily basis. It's an unfortunate truth we must deal with, but it's also true that we are doing something about it. For example, we have Buyer Tips posted on the site to educate members on how to keep themselves safe when dealing with online purchases, and we also provide a 'Report' button on each dog listing shown on the site, so if any scam listing is found by the public that we have not already removed, they can simply click 'Report' and we will be notified to specifically check out the reported listing and member that posted it. If it's a scammer, it will be removed.

To say Puppyfind.com is doing nothing about scammers on our website is false. To say that we are benefiting from the scammers is false as well. We aren't building houses for the owner because of scammers, we actually do lose money. Nevertheless, we will continue to provide a place for dog breeders to advertise their available puppies, and we will continue our fight against the scammers as long as they attempt to come to Puppyfind.com.

Thank you for your time,

Matt

I assume there could be some scammers on that site, just like there are scammers everywhere. My daughter and son-in-law got a beautiful dog that they found on puppy find. They drove to the place and looked at the entire litter and picked one. We live in an area where there are a lot of Amish breeders and I know that is a concern for many people, since they think of dogs as livestock. I think Ohio changed laws, and Pennsylvania has some of the strictest laws for dog breeders. I probably wouldn't buy one sight unseen.

PuppyFind very pleased

I have successfully bought three beautiful Akitas. They all came from wonderful breeders I found off of Puppyfind. The breeders I found most certainly weren't the first ones I emailed or spoke with. I went through several potential scammers.
I plan on breeding my akitas and posting them on puppyfind. Does that make me a puppymill. My dogs live inside with my rescue cats and my three children. We live in a large home on the beach. All of my animals eat Blue Buffalo which is holistic food. They have two different vets microchipped professionally trained. I work with animals in my full time job. Because I plan on posting my puppies on this site does that make me a scammer or puppymill?
I travels several hundred miles to get my babies and they were all in great health or I wouldn't have passes over my money. A hand to hand transaction. My dogs are in perfect health and meet all AKC standards.
I think everyone needs to learn to be more cautions. I read some of these reviews and feel bad for the animals not the people how can you be that naive? How can you buy a sick puppy. Certain illnesses are undetected but when you see a sick puppy why buy it. Why sign anything before looking at the puppy throughly. Have a pre written agreement. I just don't understand how everyone can bash this sight when not everyone is a puppymill or scammer.
There are legitament breeders, there are scammers as with every sight.

One more naive think they may know something person. Unknown bloodlines I don't think so as I said I did my research. Any idiot that doesn't deserves what they get. I can direct you to the legitiment breeders if you are that ignorant. My babies have points in the ring and atleast one ribbon. They don't just give those out. Greed lol I make 1500 a week at my job I love the breed and I am breeding to better the breed. And you think you know everything therefore your an idiot. Have a great night and hope you do some reasearch on dogs and breeders. Idiot

I had a really good experience with puppy find. I bought a cavachon puppy from Diana Biggs. She answered all of my questions via email and phone. I asked for more pictures and she gave them to me the same day. She was shipped to me but she took a picture of the airplane ticket and told me which flight she was on and where to pick her up. I sent her a deposit and then the remainder of the balance by check. We received a beautiful puppy with a great personality.

I bought my AKC Bullmastiff from a breeder in Kentucky a year ago. I had to have her flown to me (I live in Texas). I wired the breeder a large sum of money from walmart. I was a little worried but am happy to say that all turned out well. My baby is huge, gorgeous, and all Bullmastiff. My experience on Puppyfind was excellent.

I bought my 4 lbs Yorkie from puppyfind.com 7 years ago. Very healthy dog, never gets sick and play in the backyard with 10 lbs dachshunds ( 4 of them ) and all my friends thinks my little one will die because she is so tiny, never got any vet bills yet.

Greetings,

My name is Matt and I'm the Relationship Manager with Puppyfind.com. I would like to thank the OP for posting a positive statement about our service. Although this is a complaint site and there may be some confusion about positive statements appearing on this site, I still do appreciate finding a positive note such as this on a website like Complaintsboard.com. Puppyfind.com appreciates any compliments that our members have about our site, and I would like to reiterate the OP's statements about individuals needing to be careful when looking into purchasing a puppy. Regardless of where the puppy is first discovered or advertised, caution must be exercised and plenty of research must be done before any agreements are made. So often, people get caught up in the excitement of purchasing a cute little puppy that the usual process of “doing your homework” is sometimes forgotten. In a scenario such as this, it is important to always do as much homework as possible before bringing a furry new friend into your family. Although it may take a bit longer to do the proper research, the work is definitely worth it!

Thank you for your time,

Matt

Um, yeah, they do 'just give those out', I could get 'at least one ribbon' at a show if I was the only one entered in a class. Doesn't mean squat except that the judge was nice enough to not withhold the ribbon. Prove what you say, post your dogs' AKC registration numbers or names so that we can look it up for ourselves. If your dogs have AKC points, a quick look up on the AKC website will prove it.

I had a negative experience with breeder who advertises on the Puppyfind site. The breeder was was in Memphis, TN, an 11 hour drive from my home. A kennel representative, or "puppy placement counselor" offered to send the puppy with her daughter to Nashville, TN to complete the transaction. This was agreeable as it was 400 vs. 700 miles one-way. She also...

PuppyFind bought two champion bloodlines

I have bought two beautiful champion bloodline Akitas off puppyfind and have had no problems. Don't be so gullible! Wire money? No. Meet? No. Ship? No. Go to their house and meet the parent and see the pups environment? Yes. Hello? Of course I ran into a few scammers. Believe it or not people they are out there. And hint hint people who don't list their number don't want your money if you ask me. Everyone just needs to be more careful and pay attention. I bought pups from reputable breeders who had both parents papers on sight the whole nine. If you ask me its your own fault if you get scammed!

Greetings,

My name is Matt and I'm the Relationship Manager with Puppyfind.com. I'm writing this comment because Puppyfind.com is being mentioned in this statement. Although it appears this is not a complaint, it is appearing on a complaint website, so many people could be led to believe this is a complaint about our service if they were to just give a glance to the complaint title.

While we do appreciate the positive statements about Puppyfind.com, I did want to simply comment and clarify that this does not appear to be a complaint about Puppyfind.com. I also would like to take this opportunity to remind people about Internet safety.

Be sure of who you are dealing with, and see if it's at all possible to meet in person before any money changes hands. Many breeders that advertise on our site won't deal with out of town buyers, because safety is as much a concern for them as it is for the buyer. If it is not possible to meet with the breeder, do as much research before arrangements are made to pass money along. Scammers are notorious for requesting payment by Western Union so keep an eye out for that if it comes up in conversation. All in all, it is important to do as much research as possible before entering into any agreements.

At Puppyfind.com, even breeders that appear legitimate can still turn out to be a fraud. It's unfortunate when this happens, but if we are made aware that an account is violating our Terms of Service (TOS), then we will not hesitate to remove them if we receive proper evidence that the account is indeed fraudulent. This statement is not made to cause fear or distrust of Puppyfind.com, but bad apples do unfortunately show up on our site from time to time. This is why we have a Fraud Department that constantly works to keep the site as safe as possible, and will continue to do so, even if the threat of scammers becomes a thing of the past.

Be safe, be smart, and be patient. It may take a while to find the perfect pet online, but the results are definitely worth it.

Thank you for your time,

Matt

PuppyFind scammed... out 300 dollars

I found a "local" person claiming to have a Japanese Chin puppy, When I contacted her Kristy Philpot, stated the owner became a missionary and could no longer keep the puppy happy, if still interested contact Rev. Thomas F Hogan. I did and was pleased to find the puppy still available, I was so excited that well I did not research enough, and I sent the $300 to get the cute puppy. I spoke with the man several times and he assured me as a "man of god" that he was in desperate need to have someone take care of his friend. Well I became unsettled when he asked for and additional 550 for insurance, i spoke with my boyfriend and he even spoke with the Rev. I actually sent the $550 for insurance. but I kept thinking and things were not adding up in my brain, so me and my boyfriend went home and talked, then we both began researching...and to our total lack of surprise WE were not the first to be scammed. I called western union and cancelled the $550 payment, so he only got away with $300 of my hard earn money.

Greetings,

My name is Matt and I'm the Relationship Manager with Puppyfind.com. It was recently brought to my attention that our name was mentioned in the title of this complaint, so I felt it necessary to leave a comment about this situation.

I would first like to say that I'm very sorry to hear that this scammer committed a crime and stole $300 of your hard earned money. It is always unfortunate when something like this takes place, and Puppyfind.com finds it extremely unfortunate when we discover that the scammer may have found their victim while they were signed up with our website.

Research was initiated to find out if this scammer was indeed on our website and records indicate that the name of “Kristy Philpot” was registered to an account on our site around the time this scam took place. Records also show that the account was removed the same day it was created, as it was discovered to be a scam account. While the account at first appeared legitimate, actions taken by the account revealed it to be a scam account, so we removed it as quickly as this discovery was made.

I would like to remind readers that Puppyfind.com does not pre-screen people that come to our website, as both advertisers of dogs, and those interested in purchasing a dog from an advertiser. This is made known in our Terms Of Service. We also remind people on the site to do their research and ask plenty of questions and even visit the dogs if possible, before any commitments are made to purchasing a dog advertised on our site. We also provide ways for people to turn in accounts if they appear to be suspicious. While we do provide these resources, we also remind members to be cautious, as we are simply a bulletin board service and do not have the ability to meet people beforehand that intend to use our service.

It is our hope that the authorities can continue fighting scammers all over the world to keep websites like ours safe, and the Internet in general a safe place to connect with one another. Education is important for the every day user to obtain, and our efforts to include the public in our operations have helped us understand and fight the scammers in better ways. From our 'Buyer Tips' to providing a 'report' button on each listing so members can easily alert us to possible threats, it is our hope that this combined effort to fight the scams can lead to their eventual disappearance from the Internet.

I again am very sorry to hear about what has happened, but it is our hope that the scammer perpetrating this crime is brought to justice by the authorities. And as always, if any of our members come across any accounts that appear suspicious on our website, do not hesitate to report them to us immediately.

Thank you for your time,

Matt
