My name is Sylvie. I work for Reader’s Digest in Customer Care and I just came across your post.
I am sorry that you were unable to find the contest at rd.ca/ssvault. If you are using Google or another search engine, it is possible that you will not find it. When you have a web address (URL), all you need to do is type it into the address bar.
I’ve included a screenshot to show where you should type the address. This will take you directly to the contest and you may then enter.
I hope you will try again.

I have received an entry card from Readers Digest about the Nikon S6200 Camera. The card does not say that it is only good in a certain Province or Country. When I entered (readersdigest.ca/coolpix) it took me to a site that doesn't have a place to enter the access code of 72449. I don't appreciate the fact that this is sent to a Canadian address but according to the site is available in Alberta. Please check this for me and email me at [protected]@gmail.com.
Yours truly

I went on the internet on readersdigest.ca/coolpix and did not get anywhere in order to enter my access code. I also noticed that someone else had the same access code as me. How can that be possible? Does every one have the same code number? Anita
Received the same card, no problem. I live in Port Hope On. I have had problems with other RD contests in the past. I called their toll free number and they always fixed the problem. Hope this will help. Lynn S

Readers Digest should be investigated regarding cash give a ways to get orders for videos or books etc.
Have received mail since may 2011 with promises Millions of $ will be paid out, however no one has received the promised winnings.
Also the invoicing and statements are never correct.
I feel the company has perfected the SCAM ARTIST business.

Un-authorized Payment recevied from My credit card
Without my knowledge they are taken Rs.400/- on 25/05/2011 through my credit card, actually I sent to surrender to my SBI Card on 8th march2011, SBI credit card department people how they were paid for rs.400/-, to Deareds Digest BHEL I Pvt Ltd New Delhi. After surrender they were paid Money for Rs.400/ from 25/05/2011, Both SBI credit card department and Readers Digest people officials. This shows gambling.
this shows gambling and cheating the people.
I was carefully particapating in Readers Digest $2500 give-away. I made sure I pressed no thank you to any orders. Well they sent me a book and a subscription without me ordering it. I did get the subscription reversed after hours on the phone. But I will never participate or recommend them to anyone. They are not the same company that they use to be. Avoid at all cost.
i have received 3 sample checks with 2600000, 8200000, 5000000& soo on, from reader digest along with car prize to attached on 05/01/2010 .it should be reply with in 72hrs, deadline opf 2 weeks, shall i reply for it?
I have participated in Readers digest Rs 1 crore sweepstakers.I have got a final call but that requires a silver coin steeker which is missing in my envelop .Please let me know what i have to do.
hi this is a fraud i sign up for a whole year of reader digest but will not be renew it .I get a card for a chance for a ipod access code82756 and cannot find any site this is not fair to the people
So I spoke with Reader's Digest. Here is the number I called: [protected]. My goal was an immediate credit reversal and wanted to know how they got my Visa info
After hemming and hawing, they reversed it right then. How they got my info? I guess I called over the weekend and gave it to them. I said kind of hard considering it was spent in the emergency room. Couldn't argue so sending a new PAPER invoice which is how I only have ever paid by (free gift subscription) check for over 10 years! Pretty sketchy but can't argue with results. Suggestion: be very aggressive and try to keep your bank out of it.
Readers Digest just billed me on my credit card. I don't even know how they got the number! I always pay by check for a paper trail in my register! Illegal. Calling them today for explanation.
READER´S DIGEST IS A BIG SCAM, THEY HAVE NOT "REAL" CONTESTS AND THEY DONT PAY ANYTHING TO YOU, BUT AS SOON THEY SEE YOU CAN START BUYING THEIR BOOKS, CD´S, ETC, BECAUSE YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN WIN A BIG PRIZE THROUGH THEM, YOU ARE IN A BIG TROUBLE, THEY WILL PUSH YOU TO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS ALL THE TIME WITH MANY PROMISES, TELLING YOU THAT YOU ARE CLOSE TO WIN AND TO BE DECLARED THE CUSTOMER OF THE YEAR, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY TOO MUCH MONEY FOR NOTHING.
I´M TELLING TO EVERYBODY... DON´T DEAL WITH READER´S DIGEST IN ANY WAY, DON´T LOSE TIME AND A LOT OF MONEY, KEEP THEM AWAY FROM YOU, NEVER REPLY A MAIL FROM THEM.
STEALING IDENTITY
I received in the mail a letter from Reader's Digest. The letter came in a plain white envelope, post marked from Canada. It also had a check in it for $3, 481.10. The check was made out from AIG Annuity Insurance Company The letter said I had won a lump sum payout of $255, 069.00. The check I received was to cover any charges that may be required befor I recive my funds. It was singed by Jonathan Walsh, Prize Disbursement. Nice pictuer of him too. To receive my funds I was to contact Paul Givon or Erika Cohn at [protected] to activate my claim before I deposit the check in my bank. When I called the man was very Vague about how I won the money. He said I had to put the check in my bank and then call him back. At that point he would get the information he need to put the rest of the money into my account. Big Red Flag went up in my head. I looked Reader's Digest up on the internet. Checked for Sweepstakes rip off and found out the letter was a rip off. My big concern is people who would take this serious and not think to look in to it before they put the money in the bank.
My name is Sylvie. I work for Reader’s Digest in Customer Care and I just came across your post.
Thanks for pointing out that the letter you received was fraudulent. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous people out there who will use the Reader’s Digest name (and others) to try to part people with their money.
I just wanted to mention that you should never have to pay to receive a prize that you have won from a reputable company. Reader’s Digest does not require any such payment.

Junk Mail Sold Information
My mom bought me a subscription in December. Several weeks later, I started receiving a flood of junk mail from third parties. The reason I know it was RD is because they spelled my name incorrectly both on my RD subscription and on every piece of junk mail. It is now mid-April and I am still receiving 4 or 5 pieces of junk mail a week. I called 10 of the companies and now write "return to sender" on my mail. In addition, I have gone to catalogChoice.org and selected some to remove my name from. Not all the companies are listed, however. Has anyone had this problem and what was their solution? Is it even legal for RD to sell my information since I personally never signed an agreement form for this?

unsolicited mail
Hi
I am really annoyed at readers digest, I recevied a book through my door that I never ordered, in fact I have never ordered anything from them. they said they had sent out 2 envelopes one sayuing yes the other saying no. I did not get any mail from readers digest prior to this. I called them and asked where they got my details from, they said I must have sent the yes envelope back. which is nonsense I would never order anything of readers digest as personally I see them as scam artists. I have wrote 4 emails, I have called them 3 times and still no one is doing anything about this. I want my details removed but also I want to stop them doing this to other people. In the UK it is illegal to send Unsolicited Goods through the post and also illegal to ask for payment. this is an offence and it is what they have done to me. I want some justice here I want an apology, I want to make sure they are not robbing old people with this tactic. I just want a response to my complaint.
I eventually got through to them and told them to collect the book, I also said I wanted a refund for the costs of the phone calls and my time I had to waste to sort it out. They sent me a £5.00 cheque to cover the calls and finally removed my details. Hope that helps.
Interesting. This has happened to me this week. I am writing a letter of compaint and will also complaint to Consumer Direct.
sweepstakes fraud
I received a letter allegedly from Readers Digest Ref: # RDT57-R988, addressed at 1125 16th Ave. Roosevelt, NY. 11575 Phone [protected]. It had my correct name on this ‘official looking’ sweepstakes letter saying I won $265, 069.00. I also received a check in the amount of $3, 780.50 from Bristol West Insurance Company, the check appears to be real in every way that I can tell. I was instructed to call the above number when I spoke to a male Mark Covila & a female named Erika Cohn who stated I must activate my claim by depositing this check in my bank account. I am a retired police officer so I called Readers Digest first who stated that I did not win their sweepstakes & that they think this is a fraud. I called Mark Covilla back & asked him what’s was going on but he just got nervous & hung up. A search of the Internet reveals that Mark Covilla has been dong check fraud in the mail for some time now & there are other victims of this crime.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Hi
I'm Gerri and very angry, I was able to access the page to input the access code, which I did, and was told that it was incorrect, this has happened before with other contests.
Are you just getting names to sell or are these contests really what you say?
It would be nice to know the founding company of your magazine hasn't stopped being one of the best, but your contests leave one wondering.
Dear Sir/Madam,
After returning from extensive vacation overseas last night I saw your bill for products I do not recall ordering. An organization like yours should not avail cheap pretexes to hook-up customers in undesirable manner.
You are threatening me for collection, I see rather complaining to consumer, s affairs for such indecent act.
Please see that you remove my name immediately from your mailing list as I do not intend to receive and pay for the digest. Two copies you mailed me are still in original packing and if you wish I can return them
through post if U agree to pick up the tab.
Sincerely yours,
Muktada Islam

I just got the exact same bill. I neither ordered nor received the misspelled book/journal/whatever (volumes 1-4). Now I have a past-due bill. The website referenced to pay the bill is the actual Reader's Digest website. If the snail mail address (PO BOX 80010/PRESCOTT AZ/[protected]) also belongs to them, then this is fraud on reader's Digest part. If not, it is a scam by somebody else, probably with access to their records, as i did a few months ago get a free subscription (to the magazine, not to "THE BUNGLOW") as part of a promotion..
