we rent 2 beds and frames from rent a center in henderson nevada back in december we noticed bedbugs on both sets of beds we have hardwood floors we let our complex manager know we had an exterminator come and look at the said beds he said there was noway that we could of brought them to the apartment we have hardwood floors plus 2 or 3 other tenants also rent from rent a center and they have the same issues I refuse to pay anymore on the bed sets for one I have to exterminate them I put in claim for the months I already paid I dont want any new bed sets cause the same issue will come up again they need to stop calling and coming to my home if needed I can email you pictures of the bedbugs.
Then where do you think they came from I guess we are all lying then that rent a center caused them.
A few pics to support my claim
Hi Julie. Sure appreciate hearing your concerns.
Laws prevent renting as-is mattresses. The process is heavily regulated to prevent exactly what you are referring to.
As such, you are still contractually obligated by the signed rental agreement. If there are any concerns about this, it's recommended that you visit the location you rented from.
Thanks for posting.
You responded, "Then where do you think they came from I guess we are all lying then that rent a center caused them."
I understand that it's very difficult to accept you may have brought bedbugs into the home. Even by your own narrative, there is only one person who is suggesting bedbugs are the result of renting.
I'm sure you can appreciate that anyone wanting reprieve from a rental contract might suggest something similar.
We can really appreciate that no one wants to deal with a bedbug infestation. However the reality is that the source of the bedbugs becomes quite impossible to determine. With regulations, you can be assured it was not from your rather new mattresses.
Over the next few weeks, try to take extra precautions to live in a clean environment. With any luck, the worst is behind you.
We did not bring them with us and they were not here when we moved in there was no furniture at all.
Also there are 2 or 3 other tenants that rented from the same rent a center as us have them as well explain that one
Oh. No question that any one of the two or three of you could easily be responsible for the infestation. My guess is the likely culprit, if they actually knew the source, wouldn't be very boastful about it.
That almost is beside the point. Again, it really does become all but impossible to detect where it started.
Again, be extra diligent; and extra clean over the next few weeks (if not months). We know you may not want to believe you were responsible, but take the extra precautions anyway. The best is yet to come!
Thanks for posting your concerns Julie.
Like I said none of us had them until we rented from your company and cleaning has nothing to do with that the manager already told us none of the tenants had them until renting from your company
You're wonderful Julie. Please make no mistake, Rent-A-Center is in no way owned by me no would I ever represent that it is. They are a great company; we're just working to get you through this unfortunate incident.
Tell me where we are with your rental agreement? What are the terms of said agreement and are you up to date with those terms?
I have paid my rental from October 2017 till January 2018 I have not paid this months as I refuse to.
With respect, Julie, I'd bring your contract current. Rent-A-Center has a strong collections department and, as we've said, your bedbug issue doesn't elevate that agreement. It's not worth dealing with the headache of expenses you'll have tacked on by not doing so.
Have you went to the center where you initiated the agreement? If not, that's the very next thing I'd do. Ignoring the agreement isn't going to make the issue go away. All rental companies are designed to have strong collections agencies. They have several avenues to enforce the agreement.
Address the issue with the center in person.
I got Bed Bugs from Rent a Center and they did Absolutely nothing about the problem. Rent a center blocked from posting the Truth on their Facebook page so I started my own. RentaBed Bug
