Rently.com Zero Stars!

If I could give zero stars I would. Please try to avoid using this app at all costs. They paused my account, and I will no longer be able to self tour due to a "high" number of viewings. I had to use this app as most of the property managers in the Phoenix area, use these to tour homes. As a lot of people know, right now is a very difficult time to find a rental. They're gone as fast as they list. So I was happy when I actually found my rental, I found it on the Showmojo app, not Rently. My mother and elderly grandmother are now looking for a home, and because they are not knowledgeable with the way phones work, I decided to help them as I had experience. Now they have basically black balled me from using their app. I can no longer self tour. If a high number of viewings is my only complaint, how can they justify this? I paid for each viewing, I made sure to call property managers and customer service if I noticed missing keys, signs of vandalism l, or squatting. I would even make sure windows and doors were secured and locked. This is a poor company, and they wouldn't even give me an explanation until I put in a complaint with the BBB two times. If you happen to talk to other property managers, I encourage you to tell them to find an alternative app like Showmojo or Tenant Turner.

Recommendation: Avoid if possible

Rently.com Rently scams you out of money

Rently scams you out of money. We were interested in renting 20 Fox Lane, Logan Township, NJ and it's advertised as you enter a code and can view the property yourself without ever talking to a human being. We tried but in order to get a code you're prompted to provide a credit card (they charge you 99 cents) and require your photo i.d. first for verification purposes. The code doesn't work no matter how many times you try and when you try to contact a human for help by calling their 800 number, you only get an automated message, answering machine and no call back. I feel violated and ask that they refund the 99 cent charge on my credit card. It's ashame because the property is really nice. I would've definitely rented it just from how it looked on the outside. Shame on whoever is doing this. I hope a real investigation ensues and everyone gets their money back being that there are a number of customer reviews stating that they want their money back. Thank you.

Rently is a SCAM! RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY! THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT, but it looks very legit. DO NOT Offer any documentation. The person representing this company knew the code to the lockbox that contained the keys, and now looking at the reviews below I should have checked the Complaintsboard.com first. SCAM, FRAUD, SCAM, FRAUD! THE ONE STAR REVIEW IS A ONE STAR ONLY BECAUSE THEY MADE YOU PUT IT SOMETHING, IN REALITY, THEY ARE MINUS STARS!

I was visiting several properties that they have, the property that I chose I wanted to visit and it was impossible the keypad on the door does not work, report the problem and they told me they would repair it, then call and they told me that they had already repaired it, we made the application to win time, our application was approved, visit the house again and the problem with the door keypad persisted, we contacted again and again they said that it had already been repaired, visit the house more than a dozen times according to what the "Customer service" informed me and it was never possible to make the tour inside the house, it is a real pity because the property is very beautiful but the service was very bad, they never answer the emails, they say they will return the call and they never did, for this reason I had to discard this property and throw away the money I paid for the application because even though our application was approved we could NEVER see the house inside

Rental don't EVEN tell me this is not a scam. Don't even reply with that. I was almost scammed but I blocked the person that kept calling me. They tried to get me intrested but you should NEVER HAVE TO PAY ANY MONET TO JIST LOOK AT A PLACE. They probably get your info and sell it. You can say all you want it's not a scam but I know the area that the property was listed for and $1000 a month is way below the rent in that area. Do not reply with "it's not a scam" or some other BS because is so many people leave one star reviews it's a SCAAAMMMM. I will not email anyone at Rently or follow them anywhere. Rently has employees across the globe ready to steal your information. Don't even bother with a reply. You're too eager to say it's not a scam. You should be shut down and ASHAMED to be stealing people's information.

I have been waiting for over three weeks for a response about my application. Every time my daughter or myself call we get a run around about needing another pay stub or the picture wasn't clear. Now after calling was put on hold for two hours and then when we called back and told them we needed an answer about our applications we were hung up on. This is not ok. I have asked for a full refund of our application fees and still waiting to hear about that. Do not go through this company!

My account has been BLOCKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON and there's ABSOLUTELY NO HELP in resolving the issue I've sent several emails to them and HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE RESPONSE in the chat I was told they resolved the issue and my account has been fixed and in the same chat I was told my account has been compromised and the security team can take the ban off I'm like WTH so what exactly happened you have to upload you state issued I'd and verify your identity through random face recognition so how in the world was my account PAUSED. I'm in the process of a move and just about every management company uses Rently for self viewing and of my account is paused how am I going to be able to view homes for my family also the support team is based in India and they can not help me here or give any useful information regarding my issues

Rently.com Utilized the service to access 3 homes

Utilized the service to access 3 homes. 1 home I could not get in. While the app for rently was fully functional the agent who was employed first key homes was not. After several emailed questions after several auto emails she sent and 2 phone calls. This was her response via 2 emails. Also rently support did not reapond to my inquiry either about this agent. I also posted this on First Key homes as well. This is terrible customer service.

"This is the email response your agent sent. Again not one single response to an inquiry. Please speak to this agent in concerns to ineffectively assisting potential tenants in the Southwest Side Chicago Region. Is she indicative of the services you render?

I paid for an application, can't get a hold of anyone regarding a property. This is a scam, do not use them! I even went through their website for the application process!

I applied for a property the beginning of the month I was told I was approved but the property was already being leased out. They also told me I could my application toward another property. every time I give them a new property I'm interested in they say "you'll receive an email in 48-72 for the next steps" I never received an email and when I call back about it the property is always no longer available. So of course my application been applied to about 6 properties now and I still have No property. THIS INDEED IS A SCAM. You can never speak with a supervisor or anyone in the USA...

A horrible company that does not believe in taking care of their customers. Customer support is a joke because there is no support of any kind. They can not or will not answer any concerns you may have. Addresses on alot of the homes are incorrect. I went to a number of homes I could not view because the keypad was broken or missing keys and when I would ask for help there was very little. I personally recommend that this company be restructured from the bottom up or DUMPED!

First, I was told I would be able to tour 30 houses in 30days. Using my smart phone, lock box, and 888#. I drove an hour to go tour a house that saw online, called the 888 # with the code, only to be told I've reached my max amount of phone in tours and I'd now have to go online and schedule. During that fiasco, the website also forced me to re-enter my card information and though I was charged just 3 days prior, I was charged again. (Touring only 2 houses over the course of 3 days) Fast foward, I finally received a code to tour my 3rd house, only to discover the key was missing. About 25mins after reporting the missing key, I'm contacted by an agent, telling me that she would investigate the issue and contact me when the house is available for viewing. That was 2 days ago & I haven't heard anything since. I am however, receiving numerous emails for a "quick survey" on what I thought about the house... I'm completely annoyed with Rently.com, the misinformation, the fact that I had to pay twice, the agent, and the entire situation.

I went to see a home and sent my ID and paid $.99. I found out afterwards that they are a scam and I reviewed a false ad for the home to rent. Now I see the same home for rent at a way different cost. I want my ID deleted and refunded the $.99.

I know this company is scamming people. After reading all these complaints I have dropped them from my contacts and had my information deleted. Every time I paid an application fee after reviewing the home, the home became unavailable. I did this twice then had my credit card deny the transactions. People if you don't talk with someone don't do it. It looks good but it not.

After I just got scammed out of over $2000 that my bank is unable to retrieve and get back to me, you better bet I'll be following up with every news outlet as well as taking any and every legal action I can. I did everything by the book for this house I was trying to rent and still somehow y'all managed to allow a scam artist to have access to your own database and not only was he able let me into the house with a verified link but also send me the application and view the application with all of my personal information and everything.. this company has violated all of the HIPPA AND OSHA LAWS AS WELL AS CONFIDENTIALITY AND Just BASIC HUMAN DECENCY. Someone needs to be held accountable for their lack of trustworthiness and the fraudulent use of information by undisclosed people. Over $2000 gone because of y'all's decentfullness and flat out negligence. I'm sure there are more people like me out there in the same situation and trust me I intend to venture down every legal pathway I can until I get my money back and y'all are out of business.

Rently is collecting "application fees" from a fake company called homefindersolutions.net, an agency that does not exist, although there are similar company names with similar profiles out there. This company falsely advertises attractive apartments on common urban websites that are about 30% lower than market as bait. When you express interest in the property on the primary site by adding your email address, you receive an email from a clandestine third-party site that invites you to apply for the apartment by clicking on a link. This takes you to a FOURTH-PARTY website where you complete a partial application that asks for your full name, D.O.B., move-in date, and CREDIT CARD INFO. Like a dummy, I submitted an application and paid TWICE for one apartment since they do not confirm receipt of the $39.00 they have stolen from you. The fine print at the bottom is legal jargon that appears legitimate but the company they are referring to in the language is indeterminable. Altogether, I have paid $117. If said company is reading this, please delete all of my personal information and refund me my $117!

Don't use these people. Their application "screening" company they use APPFOLIO are terrible. My son sold his house as he lived there a lone, it neede a lot of work, and he got a great price. He wanted to rent a house with me. I agreed and we saw one we wanted to lease. I've been living in an apartment for 5 years, have ALWAYS paid my rent on time even during covid. My credit score is 740. My debts are fairly low. I make $30 an hour and my son makes $27. They require income three times the monthly rent. No problem. They asked about criminal background. I told them 5 years ago I had a DWI. A mideamenor. My son and I both paid $75 each for a background check. They denied me and just checked off "criminal background". I emailed them and they said the report shows felony. Their report even says plead to a lesser charge. Yes, they CHARGED me with a felony, but the conviction was a misdeamenor. I do not have a felony on my record. I've never been charged with stealing anything, drug use, nothing of that kind. we got ripped off for $150. These people suck. I've never been turned down for credit before and it's insulting.

It is literally TERRIBLE service. I wanted to see a house I wanted to rent and I created an application with a personal (selfie, driver's license-ID photos and credit card information) that requires a lot of special information. Afterwards, I made an appointment for a self-tour. However, I did not receive any email or information, how to enter the house, padlock password, etc. When I tried to contact them on the day of the appointment, they said I had to call property management when I could barely connect. I phoned there and then bla bla. This effort, this adventure, that I made just to see the house, went on like this. To summarize, I made an appointment to see the house that was suitable for renting 15-20 hours ago, but when it was time to see the house, I was met with answers like it is not suitable for renting and there is a current tenant in it. Since it is not possible for everything to change in less than 1 day, the information provided by this company is not correct and up-to-date and there is no one you can reach easily. For this reason, I do not think of working with them again, and I do not recommend it to anyone.

If I could give a negative star review I WOULD. This company along with Sylvan Homes advertised a property that was available. After reluctantly offering up my credit card information (had to be from my phone which makes me EVEN MORE paranoid they have somehow intercepted more of my data via the link REQUIRED to select via text message). 99 cents doesnt sound like a lot however it is the ILL INTENT behind it that burns my rump. Here's my story. 6/16/XXXX XXam: found home, initiated digital contact and did a drive by. 1pm: attempted phone contact, gives a recording never a human. 501pm an associate named Ashley reached out via text message and email inquiring how I would like to talk, phone or text. I responded within minutes. NEXT DAY 8am: Called to get another voice recording, no human. 1pm: Called different number, still no human available. Emailed and texted Ashley; only to be told the one and only property in my county was not available. Instructed I would be placing a report as I feel they are scamming people. A hasty text message was received after a missed call. Again, not one available unit in my county. Waste of time.

The website is set up in a way that makes it easy to use and looks professional/legitimate. There are a ton of houses listed for rent that say "available" and even allow you to sign up for a self tour. The sketchy parts are these: -I had to pay 99 cents just to sign up to "self tour" houses that I later found out aren't even available anymore. I felt really weird putting my card info into a site that I wasn't sure about and I regret having done that. I'm hoping a scammer doesn't gain access to my card info... -when I signed up for self tours of 4 different houses they ALL said my tour time was 8am-8pm. I didn't know if this meant I could just go whenever I wanted to or if it was a glitch or what. I thought that was really weird. -finally, I asked my realtor about the 4 properties and she said 3 had already been rented and one had been sold (which means the rental listing was fake). Even if Rently is a legit business, I'm disappointed that they don't update the listings and don't have better systems in place to prevent scammers from receiving our phone numbers and texting us fake self tour info. If possible, I'd love to be able to remove any card info the site has of mine just for my protection.

I want Rently.com to read this review and please refund the 0.99 back to my account. I have sent two emails and I have not received a response. I also called the phone number listed and all I got was an automated voice system with no live person and no help. "This is my email to Rently.com dated August 27. I was scheduled to visit a property at 8432 Deer Chase Drive in Riverview, FL on August 23rd. The owner called Homes Rently and we were both in communication with him at the same time. I did all that was requested including charging my card $0.99 then I was told that the account had been paused. Then I was asked to do the entire process again and this time I was unable to do so due to multiple errors. After placing me on hold several times and he asking me to charge my card again, I grew irritated and told him that I am not interesting in viewing the house. I was never granted entry into the property and therefore I need the $0.99 to be refunded back to my account. I also read the reviews and it seems to be a frequent occurrence. It may just be $0.99 but it is unlawful to charge someone for a service they never had." So in closing, please refund my money back to my account. They were given one star because I wanted to post my review otherwise they would not have gotten a star.

Rently is a scam app. I applied for a rental with a fee of $35 per tenant so for my husband and I it totaled $70. The listing said "coming soon" and I joined the "waitlist" hoping to hear back. I called the number listed but it's all automated stating due to COVID all staff works from home. So I tried emailing with the email that was listed on the automated message. I heard back from no one in regards to the property after multiple attempts. Two weeks later the property went off market. Thought they must of gone with an applicant that applied before more. One month later was notified through realtor.com that the same property was available again. So I of course re applied in high hopes of at least viewing the property, since it's almost impossible to get a rental right now (another $70 spent for application). I reached out to realtor.com to look into the property and they confirmed on the same day that it was not a legit listing. It was taken from BEX Realty and they removed it from their site. Rently still shows the property "coming soon" - I want Rently to be reprimanded for all the trouble and loss of money to everyone who has a complaint. I want to be refunded! In these times it is not fair nor do people have the money to be getting taken advantage of. Complaintsboard.com YOU NEED to take action and do something.

Instincts rarely lie & I should have listened to mines. Contacted the local co. Main Street Renewal in Columbus (allegedly) to validate a property was for rent, went to property beforehand, sign in yard for rent, great, everything seemed good. They advise you get access by setting up a Rently account (a 3rd party they use) and that you get to view all properties (so many per day) for the .99 for 30 days by setting up an accountwith them to view all of their listings. Went to property I wanted to see, followed their directions, FAIL! Stayed on the phone with Rently while at property, still got nowhere. They stated they didn't receive the .99, had to screenshot that they in fact did based on my confirmation email that stated otherwise. Rep had me do a couple more things, still no progress, then the rep claimed the issue may be with my cell phone carrier amd they may be preventing things. If this is the case, probably for good reason. Like countless others have shared, STAY AWAY from this and other companies who conduct business this way and the companies who use Rently's services. They ask for sensitive information like your driver's license info & require your card information to setup for a service that doesn't provide the luxury of the services you paid for, granted it's only .99 cents. Now I am fearful of my identity being compromised & the fact that they have my bank info & what they may try to do with as my trust factor that nothing else will come up as a result of this is ZERO. I'm also contacting my bank about this and anyone else who may listen.. Shame on Rently.c, Main Street Renewals & any other company who may be affiliated.

THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY STARS, but since I am OBLIGATED TO LEAVE ONE, IT IS A 1 STAR. I have used Rently for numerous self tours and have been left UNSATISIFED due to the numerous times I have driven out to a property that was 30 minutes to 1 hour away. Each time I entered the house serial number on my Rently app to obtain an access code and the serial number of the property was invalid or the access code did not work properly. I would then contact support via text/phone call and the ONLY thing they would be able to tell me is that they emailed the management property. So why would they not be able to help me while I am physically at the home? The response I got EVERYTIME (typically from the same contact support rep Ramesh, Ravi, or Vanesh) was that either the Rently lock needs maintenance or the wrong serial code is on the Rently box that the property management team or leasing agent needs to update or schedule for maintenance WHICH I understand, but the matter of fact they were not able to provide the correct access code even after confirming my identity, the property address, AND a photo of the door with the serial number is UNACCEPTABLE. I did get a refund of my $0.99 after the first incident but the fact that this happened at LEAST 6 times, is not okay. This company should either be shut down OR add into their contact support the ability to provide access codes/correct serial numbers if a customer has wasted their time, gas, and money to get out to a property to view. Keep in mind I am driving around after work and looking for a place to live. Since my last horrible experience(s) I still am unable to find a place to live and the majority of the self tours include Rently!

Rently.com I live in a small multi-unit "plex"-style single structure rental home

I live in a small multi-unit "plex"-style single structure rental home. Our property manager used Rently to schedule, approve, and execute self-service tours for a neighboring vacant unit within the structure.

Unfortunately, Rently's hardware, software, and/or security policies appear to have enabled long-term trespassing *** the vacant unit. Shockingly, Rently admitted to me - via phone - that they have no way to consistently ensure tour participants physically lock the doors on the way out.

Even worse, I frequently observed Rently's computerized lockbox providing a completely unsecured key to the vacant unit. The key protruded from a slot located on the bottom of the lockbox, to varying degrees over time. This key was accessible to the public, in plain sight, outdoors, visible from the street, and clearly removable. I couldn't tell if the presence of the key was due to malfunction, manipulation of the lockbox by a trespasser, or insufficient security policy oversight and/or monitoring.

On one occasion, I opened my own front door in the morning, gazed across the parking lot, and noticed an unconscious and unresponsive individual face down in the vacant unit. The front door was left hanging wide open. I didn't get a good look at the status of the Rently lockbox hanging on the unit's front door - I was too busy running back inside to call 911.

Rently can and should implement a policy or technical measure to consistently verify that all doors are physically locked once a self-service tour concludes. Rently should also implement a policy or technical measure to consistently verify that keys to vacant units are never left freely accessible to the general public.

I cannot recommend Rently to anyone unless they enjoy interacting with 911 to report instances of criminal trespass *** looked like medical emergencies.

I can hardly begin to tell you how atrocious Rently's service is. I work for a vacation rental management company and we've been partnered with them for over two years. The long and short of it is, last year we cut ties with them. During this process, they went in to the back of our of smart locks and wiped all the data. They sabotaged us and strung us along, insisting they didn't know anything about why suddenly we were having a security meltdown, none of our unique codes were working, and our locks were on the fritz. They had been insistent that we wait until their integration with our PMS was complete. Anytime we would reach out with the allegations, with our frustration, radio silence. NEVER a single acknowledgement of our need to have a conciliatory discussion. Eventually, with the PMS integration live, we decided it was more trouble than it was worth ($ and effort) to change lock systems, so we reversed course and began to onboard with them again. Several of us in the company sent messages through various channels to initiate a conciliatory conversation, and NEVER a response. Over the years of calling their help line, populated young professionals whose attitudes ranged from avoidant to churlish, I can only ascertain that this is a company run by a bunch of kids with no real hierarchy or leadership. It pains me to see such a lack of integrity and business ethics in a company whose services are prevalent. If there IS such a leadership there, should they ever read this, it is simply woeful how ignorant you could remain to the abhorrent customer service your employees offer. Seriously appalling. As I promised in an email to them some time ago, this not the last of my efforts for accountability. No company deserves to pursue success if this is their behavior. I fully expect a formal apology and a meeting mediated by the VRMA advocacy organization or other neutral party. Beware of choosing Rently as your partner.

I drove 5 hours each way to view properties in anticipation of accepting a job offer. I only had ONE day to view houses before driving back home. I was only able to see 10 properties before I was flagged as a 'security risk' and not allowed to view any more houses. I contacted customer service x 2 and the security email x 3, but no resolution came. The email response from security was that my activity triggered the pause, but gave no explanation on what that meant, or how it could be rectified.

I spoke to the 'float supervisor' Ramesh on the phone to see what could be done to rectify the situation. I offered to give a deposit, or send them videos of the tours I did take (I filmed them to show my husband who wasn't present), but was told there was nothing they could do. He told me I had 'exceeded my viewings,' but I still had 7 house tours left on my account. I used Rently to view the house I currently live in, and have no issues with credit score, etc.

Claimed loss: I drove for 10+ hours to view houses for nothing, as I wasn't able to view any after the 10 I was able to see. I had planned the ONE day I had to see homes, and didn't have enough time to contact realtors/leasing companies.

Desired outcome: I want them to reinstate my account, or tell me exactly WHY it was paused. This seems to be a VERY common occurrence, and something needs to be done about this company.

Rently.com Account paused

Rently has paused my account for no reason. They are stating that my device was outside of US. Im using an iphone 14 pro. Repeated calls to the customer care didnt help. I cannot understand the reasoning behind banning for life. Hope they resolve my account issue soon.

The customer service is also rude. If they start banning all the accounts, the company will be going for a toss.Time for them to change their security software as they are losing customers. I have already written to the leadership teams if many of their key vendors including first key homes.

Rently.com Self tour

Horrible company Sunday I scheduled a self tour I got to the property(1hr drive) the serial number was missing, I immediately called them I was told they couldn’t provide the serial number and a ticket had to be made and could take 24hrs, I received a text message that same week on Wednesday stating the property was back on the market so I scheduled another tour drove an 1hr got to the property and they put a tape with 6 number written in pen on the tape! I put in the serial number and received a message wrong code! What a waste of time these people are so unprofessional and could careless about your time! and customer service is just as useless as the wrong serial number on the door!

Rently.com Account paused /can’t tour homes

I was almost 3 hours away from my current location looking for a new house connect to a Rently self tour account. In error I clicked a response about where I located the listing. Rently doesn’t allow you to make any changes or corrections to responses or have a button to confirm your choices. This is highly incompetent on their side since they locked my account forcing me to contact the property management. After contacting them I was told it would a 72hour turnaround time for Rently to respond to their request to unlock my account. By that time, the house could be rented and like I said, 3hours away from my current location. Terrible timing for this to happen and terrible app.

Rently.com Paused account

I was very excited to use Rently to help us find a new home. Things were going great and we viewed 3 houses the first day, 4 the next and 1 the day after that. I found a few more houses that we wanted to view but due to work schedules and after school activities we were not able to make it to the scheduled tours for that day. I got on the Rently app and started to reschedule them for the next day. By the time I got to the third house to reschedule they automatically paused my account. I’ve called and emailed and continue to get the same response. They can’t unpause my account and are now saying it’s because my IP address is out of range. What does that even mean? It’s very disappointing and I don’t even know where to go from here.

Rently.com Paused account

I am beyond livid. I started the rently account in May of this year 23. I viewed allot of properties with no issues. Called and reported vandalism and squatting at a couple places as well as no codes. One day all of a sudden I started getting errors so I contacted support. They told me to download the app and it should be easier. Well all of a sudden my account was paused. Called customer service again they directed me to security support. Emailed them. Waited a week and they said 2 violations was done so they couldn't unpause the account. I emailed back to see what violations because anytime something was wrong I reported it. Never responded back. I just applied for one I did see and was approved in 2 days. Now I went to check my account and yet, it's still paused. Emailed the team again and no response. This is the worst customer service and company ever. Why should someone report issues if you will blame them?

Rently.com False payment methods

I tried to view several homes. Was prompted with rently. Uploaded ID, selfie, etc. When it came time for payment, site states they accept VISA, MC, AMEX, & DISCOVER. Tried my Visa and Discover and site declined my cards. Called rently and the rep told me they did not accept practically any of the payment methods the site states. Something is real fishy about the company.

Desired outcome: Get rid of rently. Horrible self touring site for future renters.

Rently.com There are no pros about this company all cons.

This company is full of bs. The platform is not designed for those who fall outside of the box of doing their due diligence or caring about where they live or what they live in. The customer service team or security team as they call themselves are a bunch of idiots behind a computer.

They use some ridiculous algorithm to allow you to view to their specification and then pause your account when you fall outside of what they consider the norm.

After 10 plus years I am back in the rental market so I opened an account and started viewing homes. You wouldn't believe what people put on the marketed. Finish the starter package and signed up for additional tours when my account was paused. I used another phone number in my home and opened another account and started to tour again and since it was associated with me they paused that account also.

A person named Rodney called me and I told him my situation and he was able to unpause my account so I could continue viewing homes. BUT... it eventually go paused again, mind you on the day I added additional tours.

Rodney has since come back with the following bs:

1. Multiple accounts set up within the app - Typically, our app users have only one account associated with a single phone number. In your case, we have identified the presence of multiple accounts linked to two different phone numbers.

2. Number of tours booked - We have observed that within a span of 2 months, you have booked and toured a total of 18 properties. This touring velocity is significantly higher than the average in your area, where most users view less than 5 tours over a 2-week period to find a home.

While each of these factors alone might not lead to an account pause, their combination has triggered our system to take action. It is crucial to note that our security systems are established in consultation with property owners who have specific standards that Rently must adhere to.

Something has to be done about them being able to dictate how you view and how many properties you view. You can't force someone into a home if it is not a right fit or a safe space for them. To place blame on the owners of he homes is something they are using to take the heat off of them having a very bad system and doing something that is almost fraud.

That does not negate that your system is horrible and so is the customer service. You aren’t protecting anyone as I have been in contact with multiple agencies that I tried to view their properties and they have no idea what you are speaking of nor did they give you the perimeters that you use to block people.

People let’s not let this company off the hook this is solely a Rently problem and has nothing to do with the agencies that source Rently to provide entrance to their rental properties.

I scheduled a tour on rently.com and after driving 45 minutes to the location, inserted the code and the site stated my account was locked. I chatted w/agent they couldn't find out why, called customer service center they didn't know why. I spoke with a supervisor he didn't know why account was paused. This company has your DL,CREDIT ,ADDRESS and you paused the for unknown reasons

Desired outcome: Reactivate my account as well as give a reason why it's locked in the first place.

Rently.com Account paused unable to tour homes

I have used Rently for years, but this month my account was paused for no reason. I called the property manager and they stated they do not see the pause on their end and I would have to contact Rently. I called Rently customer service and every representative stated they do not know why the account was paused and they would refund me and I could never use my Rently account again. This is a huge inconvenience for me while I am searching for a home. A company that I thought was great has become a nightmare. All the homes I have been interested in have gone off the market due to a pause from Rently that no one seems to know why. I have not seen any listings on Craiglist or any other site.

My account was paused for no apparent reason. I call Customer support at Rently and they stated I would have to reach out to the property Manager. I reached out to Progress Residential directly and they stated everything is good on their end and I would have to reach out to Rently. I reached back out to Rently and they stated they would I would not be able to use the account again and they do not know why there was a security freeze put into place. Every home now I have looked at has gone off the market due to a situation no one knows anything about. This experience has been a nightmare

Rently.com Customer service

I have seen several homes using Rently's self tour option. Suddenly, for no reason I can discern, I was informed my account was paused. I contacted customer service via chat who indicated:

1. My account was paused permanently

2. They do not know why the account was paused and they can't access that information.

3. No one at the company can access the information.

4. There's nothing I can do to ever unpause my account.

I called customer service who repeated these same points. This is completely untenable customer service to issue a lifetime ban on an account without reason and there be no way to resolve the issue.

In my opinion, this could be discriminatory behavior by Rently; I have been denied my request to be informed of why my account was paused, and I believe the banning may have on the basis of a protected attribute like race. The permanent pause also happened when I was trying to view a home in a particularly non-diverse area.

For all intents and purposes, I've been banned from using Rently's services and touring homes in particular areas without cause.

I went to view a home last week and my account has been paused for no reason. I tried connecting with customer support which is only by email chat numerous times. When we reached out as instructed all your company could do is refund our money and tell us some internal server security flag and contact companies directly. All the Realty company tell us is we have to tour through Rently it is nothing they can do.

Rently.com Touring app

I signed up for Rently touring app, and the app was paused. I tried to schedule an tour several properties and the lock combination codes and types were not the same and I could not access the properties when I complained, my account got paused. When I contacted the support team by email, all they did was send me a response saying that the case was closed no explanation no reason for what era I need that Kohl’s this and it’s just ridiculous and it’s frustrating and a stressful.

Rently.com Account paused / can’t tour homes

I am beyond frustrated with Rently. As many other reports have indicated, their system will place a “pause” on your account with no legitimate reason. I’ve contacted the support number numerous times, spent minutes on chats, and sent several emails regarding this issue with no response or solution. I’ve also spoke with the “supervisor”, who was no help at all. It’s like everyone says exactly the same thing as if they were reading a script “Our security system paused your account and we cannot remove it because it is with our security system, etc…” Seriously? How do you run a business with no infrastructure support on your own “self-viewing” technology that most property managers use? It’s such a shame and beyond frustrating as I have to directly contact property managers just to receive a one-time access code to view a property. This is my first time ever doing a BBB review, but it is worth every single letter, word, and time for me to type this all out. Avoid Rently at all cost if you can or at least try to schedule a tour directly from the property managers to avoid any potential issues in the future.

I don't understand what is going on with my account. I uploaded my DL,did the selfie and paid the fee to view houses. I was able to see one one house. Once I made it to the 2nd house it told me my account was paused. I called and spoke with 3 people at Rently that told me to send an email to their security team. I did that with NO RESPONSE. I was also was told to call the rental company I was trying to rent from and they stated the problem wasn't on their end and to contact Rently back. I'm beyond frustrated and nobody at Rently seems to be any help.

I contacted one rental listing on the listing page in Kissimmee, Florida. I went today for a viewing surprise. it was a scam. Rently took my credentials, photo id, and face picture. Lucky me the card I used to pay the fee didn't accept the transaction. later on, a guy from India called from a Connecticut number who was supervising the transaction over the phone till I hang up after my card denied the transaction twice. I want my info to be deleted from the site, please.

Rently.com Rently is horrible

This company is by far the worst third party ever to go through to find a home. Most of the homes in my area are under progressive residential and they only use Rently to view homes. When I asked for a real agent they told me that Rently was the best option and getting an agent would take days or weeks. Rently has paused me and my husband's account for invalid reasons. They unpaused my husband's account once but after that our accounts were always paused after viewing 3 homes. The customer service representative told us that there was nothing that they could do for us so we have to contact progressive residential. Keep in mind this company owns a lot of real estate so how are you leasing homes when this company is pausing accounts and not being able to help your customers. This is the worst experience I've ever had with trying to rent a home. Me and my husband were trying to step out on faith to finally find a home for our growing family after spending years in a one bedroom. They have totally ruined our experience. The staff are not trained properly to help with paused account. New rules and policies might help. There needs to be a 24/7 security team that is able to view paused accounts immediately, especially if people are trying to find a home. Not everyone can wait days or weeks for someone to respond to an email.
