SCAM BOOKING SITE, DO NOT FALL FOR IT
My 64-year old mother was trying to make a hotel reservation for my wedding and mistakenly called Reservation Counter after a mobile ad popped up on the Radisson website. She repeatedly told the woman on the phone that she was trying to book a room in the WEDDING BLOCK. Rather than explain to my mom that Reservation Counter does not have access to wedding block rates and that she should call the hotel directly, the woman rushed her through the booking process, collected her payment info and booked her with a NON REFUNDABLE room rate. The hotel itself was happy to cancel the reservation, but of course Reservation Counter had already charged her credit card and would not issue a refund due to 'company policy.' I emailed and spoke with multiple people in the self-described customer care department who refused to help and did absolutely nothing. They are clearly ripping off and scamming people across the country, my mother included. At the VERY least they could've matched the wedding block rates, kept the booking, kept the money, and moved on. Instead the scam lives on.
If I can't get my mom a FULL refund on the $700... at the very least Reservation Counter can honor the WEDDING BLOCK rate of $189/night + taxes and fees.
THIS IS A BOOKING SITE SCAM designed to mislead, confuse, and rush through accidental call-ins. NO ONE would directly call 'ReservationCounters.com' to book a hotel room. It is an outright scam that targets hotel and booking sites to mislead the public. My mother is the latest victim.
unknown service charges and fees, falsely placed themselves on hotel websites
I went directly to the site for the hotel I wanted to stay at, hit make reservation and was moved to the "reservation desk". The room that was listed at $142 was confirmed as a king accessible room. Then I got an email from reservationdesk.com stating I booked through them. My room now had $45 in taxes and fees plus $14.99 in service charges taking it to $203! Called and got the run a round, called again and same run a round. Chose to talk to the hotel at check in. SURPRISE! My king accessible is now a double non-accessible (my credit card was not the number they had used to charge it so the hotel couldn't help us) and my husband cannot shower! I have called 3 times and although they said I would get a partial refund (whopping $9.49) I have yet to see it.
customer service
When I got to the hotel my reservation had been cancelled even though I had paid for my room in full. I was given a smaller room for the first night and this company refuses to reimburse me anything for all my inconvenience and having kids have to sleep on the floor the first night.
I was also charged very high fees, so saved nothing on my hotel room.
hotel room at the fairfield inn in loveland colorado.
I called what I thought was the the Fairfield Inn and was quoted $152.08 a night for a three nightstay. I figurMed my bill would be about 450.00. My credit card was charged 570.00 and a Service Fee of $7.99. I called back the number I originally called and they said I had to call Fairfield. I called Fairfield and they said i had to call Priceline. I told both parties i will be getting a refund of 125.00. I still have not heard back. I am so angry at both parties.
pricing
Unfortunately, I have researched all the reviews on Reservation Desk and various sites and everything I read is true. It is a big scam. I thought I was dealing with Hampton Inn directly. I believe that I was quoted a completely different price and I ended up paying $129.00 above the hotel rate. I asked for the recording of the booking that I made but they advised me they reviewed it but would not release it to me. Big big scam. How do these people sleep at night
Yes I'm very upset that we lost over $1100 but others were scammed for more than we were and it makes me very angry. I don't know how they sleep or live with themselves. It makes you fear trying to go anywhere or do anything. The only left is KARMA I guess.
hotel reservation
Made a reservation for Residence Inn Austin-University Area.
Reservation Desk.
They claim to grive a special rate, yeah, especially over what it should be and they charge a service fee on top of that. You can't cancel or change anything.
Two days before my checkin at the hotel, I requested a cancellation but they refuse to allow to do it.
There is a charge of Taxes & Fees $233.28 from Resevation Desk but the hotel itself lists these fees as USD Taxes and fees $142.80. On top of that, Reservation Desk charges a service charge of $12.99
fraudulent charge and deceitful business tactics
Tried to book a room in Oxford, MS one year ago for this past weekend. Googled hotel rooms in Oxford and unknown to me, I got on reservation desk.com. Completed reservation and charged hotel price listed and service fee. When I received my confirmation email, reservationdesk.com booked a room in Oxford, Alabama. There were no rooms available in Oxford, MS due to graduation weekend for Ole Miss. After several phone calls, the actual hotel in Oxford, AL assisted with getting my reservation cancelled but I still had to pay reservationdesk.com's service fee. Forward 11 months later, I received an email confirming my hotel rooms from reservation desk for hotel that was cancelled last June. Another phone call to reservation desk and told the reservation was cancelled. Well today Reservation desk charged my credit card for the reservation cancelled, without my authorization, and included another service fee. I did speak to a customer service person today and they assured me that amount of charge would be credited to my credit card. This is fraudulent and probably criminal conduct. Thank goodness for American Express who assured me the amount charged to my account without my permission will be investigated.
non-refundable hotel reservation
I made reservations with them. I thought I was calling Hilton directly because of the way the website showed up. They never stated that they were a third party company. I tried to cancel, but I would have to pay for the entire stay. This company is a rip off and a scam. I tried calling the hotel directly and they stated that there was nothing they could do. I called the same night that I made the reservation to cancel.
refused to refund despite 3 wks notice of cancellation
Due to family emergency we had to cancel our trip 3 weeks in advance. ReservationDesk.com did not disclose that they had booked a non-refundable room for us. When I called ReservationDesk.com to cancel they said that it was non-refundable and there was nothing they could do unless I called the hotel and got their approval for the cancellation. I called the hotel and they said that since it was booked thru a 3rd party I would have to cancel with ReservationDesk.com. They said that they never heard of the hotel having to give permission to cancel a reservation. When I called back to R-D.com they said I would have to submit proof as to the reason for my cancelation before they would consider it. Have not heard anything yet.
refused to issue refund
I called what I believed to be Aloft Hotel in Tallahassee on 2/1/16 to reserves 2 rooms in a block of rooms set aside for a wedding at a discounted rate. I was never notified that I was dealing with a 3rd party and was falsely told that all of the rooms in the block of rooms reserved at the discounted rate of $119/night for the wedding were sold out. I later learned (after the special rate had expired) that ReservationDesk.com had lied to me. They simply did not have access to those rooms. After they had already charged my credit card, I discovered that they had charged me $65.71 of extra fees that they claimed were assessed by the hotel (another lie) which they did not charge my sister for the same size rooms which she booked through ReservationDesk.com a few minutes after I booked mine. I requested a refund of the extra fees and they 'expedited my claim" through their "Customer Service" department. Naturally, they refused to refund. I will never book through them again.
reservation desk is a scam
Never never never use this cheating website. They have a "reservations" number that no-one answers, give a link to the website, pretend to be a hotel website (logos, photos, everything), charge higher prices than the actual hotel charges, charge additional booking fees, and then refuse to refund even a penny of your money when you figure out you've been hijacked and scammed. It's a completely dishonest organization from the word go.
complete deception at every turn
Deception One, I made every attempt online in booking my reservation to contact a specific hotel in Prescott, AZ. I found the address, the map, the hotel contact. I'm pretty online savvy, given over 25 years in IT. For me to be duped is embarrassing – or – they are very very good at this. It turns out I clicked on their ad and booked with them. They gave absolutely no indication that I was calling a third party.
Deception Two, I had to cancel due to the person I was visiting had died, pretty sad, but simple. They said fine, they'd cancel the reservation and they would refund, however, I needed to prove I was telling the truth (sadly customers are not right anymore)...and that I had to send them a death certificate?! Regardless, they never contacted the hotel to cancel and allowed the booking to be forfeited via no show.
The hotel called me and asked if I was showing up. I called Reservationdesk.com back for which they told me that they DID call the hotel and would call them again. After calling the hotel myself, they have NO record – even to this day – of Reservationdesk.com ever calling them.
Deception Three, after a couple more "prompting" emails to Reservationdesk.com about the status of the refund, they sent me an email stating: "Our Support Team have requested a waiver for your reservation but unfortunately the hotel is unwilling to release the fund. The hotel has decided to stick to their policy and wont refund the reservation". This was a complete bold-face lie. I immediately called the hotel. They were furious, not only because they were never contacted, but the cancelation was well within their policy, and to mention that this was ruining the hotel's reputation.
Simply due to the nature of such bad business, the hotel contacted them to declare that they will refund 50% if they refund 50%, for which Reservationdesk.com agreed. One note, even the hotel had trouble reaching the responsible party, which turns out, she had to contact 3, yes THREE, different companies to reach some sort of management.
Deception Four, after yet more time, I called Reservationdesk.com to check status. They said "they" finally agreed to a 50% refund. I asked from which party this refund was coming. They refused to answer. I told them the 50/50 situation. They said they are not responsible for the hotel's refund to me. I told them the hotel must refund only to the party that put the money down, which would be them. So my question to them was, who's 50% is this? Very simply, it stands to reason, based on the developing character of this company, that they were going to give me the hotel's 50% and no money would come out of their pocket.
Deception Five, if anyone ever has tried to contact "The Support Team", (which is probably only one more person down the line on a long folding table of telephone operators in some back alley warehouse, they will not allow you to "push button" your way to them.) There is NO direct line. I asked for a direct line with the "Support Team" member and she said there is none. I asked for her extension so at least she and I could continue the conversation, she said they could not forward calls to individuals.
Good luck, my reco is to report them to the BBB or governmental agency of your choice.
hotel booking overcharge
Their number appears on a reservation page of the Birchwood Inn, Harbor Springs, MI. Not sure if it's their website or a Google search result. When you call it you don't know you're calling a third party. All questions regarding who they are were avoided. I was threatened with my room not being available anymore, so I felt pressured to book with them and...
Read full review of ReservationDesk.compayment not received by hotel - so I was double charged
I booked 2 nights at the Hampton Inn in Pittsburg, CA. When I checked out the Hampton Inn billed my credit card for the room. The room was prepaid on the same card through Reservation-Desk.com. When I contacted Hampton Inn to have the charge reversed they said I was charged because the payment info they received from Reservation-Desk.com was invalid. On top...

Do yourself a favor and call the hotel that you desire to go to directly--never book a room online. This company somehow took a reservation I made on Holiday Inn's website--and couldn't even get the destination correct. They said the rate I secured could not be issued a refund---there was no such "special rate." This is a scam company who preys on booking engines-- Calling them brought my call directly to India. How they are able to do this boggles the mind !
We did call the hotel direct for Holiday Inn Resort on Jekyll Island [protected] and how it ended up with reservationdesk.com we have no idea. We booked 5/7/23 for a stay 7/20-7/23 and was told we had until 7/4/23 to cancel for a full refund. We contacted them to cancel the very next day and we received an email from reservationdesk.com that we wouldn't be refunded. They stuck us for over $1100. Holiday Inn keeps telling us Expedia has our money. Expedia isn't on anything. Not on the charge transaction or on the cancellation notice
I was refused a refund
First - duplicity. Appearing to be a call center for an actual hotel.
Second - Refuse AARP Reservation
Third - Change Reservation Rate after Hotel made adjustment
Fourth - Charged my account for full reservation before I ever checked into hotel'
Fifth - I became ill and had to leave after the first night of our two night reservation. I was refused a refund.
they are scam company and stolen my money
took credit card info, sent confirmation, got to the hotel and there was no reservation.
motel "best rate" pricing
The web site says 'best price available' which apparently means best for Reservation-Desk because when I arrive at the Comfort Inn I found that I could have booked the room for 25% less if I had simply called the motel directly. My advice - stay away from this company. There are numerous other complaints posted which I failed to see until after I had booked with them. Maybe this post can save other from the same scam.
ripped off
Reservation Desk's phone number was somehow in my Google search for the hotel I was looking to stay at. There was no indication of this being RD's number as the hotel website listed Reservation Desk phone instead of their own. Upon checking out I did not get a receipt as they told me "I booked through an agency". My colleague called the hotel directly and booked for $105 within 1 hour of my reservation, my price through Reservation Desk was $153.
This company is phishing online for business and scamming people into believing their ARE THE HOTEL itself through the nature of their voicemail system. This is FRAUD.
their deal was scam
Don’t trust to the company www.Reservation-Desk.com. They offered me good deal, but when I wanted to pay for the booking, it turned out that they didn’t tell me about all charges and fees. In result I needed to pay more than $1, 000. OMG. I tried to cancel this crap, but the rep refused and asked to pay ASAP. So be aware and share this info in order to warn other people.
they ignored my request and charged me for the reservation
I made the reservation through the website www. Reservation-Desk.com. I spoke with the rep and asked not to charge my card, ‘coz I wanted to pay with cash. I was shocked when I checked my account and it turned out that they took money for the reservation. The rep ignored my request and took money without my permission. Stupid rep and the worst services, so please be aware and better don’t deal with them.
